in a nutshell:

-       Laura loves the series and believes it explores some really interesting themes about evolving through life's different stages and grieving old your old life

-       Sarah passionately hates the show and thinks it is 40% unhelpful, 40% problematic and 20% painfully bad acting

so tune in, sit back and enjoy smart women have a respectful and fun disagreement!

if you love this ep please leave us a review <3

We’ve chatted about feminism and debunked feminist myths (i.e. that feminism is actually only about equality and not about hating men).

Then we  unpacked the Handmaid’s Tail and discussed some of the real-life parallels that prove why we have and will continue to need feminism.

By now (if you weren’t already) you’re hopefully sitting safely and happily in the feminist camp. If not, please join the party, it ain’t that bad!

This  week, we are going to be chatting about some of the many face palm moments you’ll likely encounter with people who either:

-       Don’t understand feminism,

-       Aren’t aware of their internalised misogyny,

-       Or who are anti-feminism completely.

The point of this episode is to simply equip you with the tools to take back to your loved ones, colleagues, boss or that wanker you know (I bet someone is ringing a bell) so that you can have an educated conversation with them and hopefully, you can bring them on board.

Otherwise, you can leave the conversation knowing you gave it a crack and did your part! As let's be real, there's no worse feeling than walking away and knowing you didn't say anything. ENJOY!

Please give what she said podcast some feedback! Also, join the discussion on the closed Facebook group @what she said, or follow  @whatshesaid.podcast on Instagram.

Today Tasmanian hosts Laura and Sarah deep dive into ' Toxic Honesty '

What is toxic honesty you may wonder . . . you will have to listen to find out.

ONLY JOKING.

This ep was inspired by Bryce from MAFS, NO DON'T SWITCH OFF YET! Basically, we've seen Bryce be a bit of a D-head to his wifey and then say *cue eye roll 'Sorry if what I said hurt your feelings but I was only being honest, don't you want me to be honest?'

We all have that friend who is known for being 'brutally honest', or start sentences like 'I am only telling you this because I care' or just known for negging people.

On this pod we breakdown the emerging social trend around toxic honesty/radical honesty (basically when honesty is taken too far). We talk about how this trend has come about, debate; can 'I am just being honest' a shield for horrible behaviour?  and how does toxic honesty affect relationships.

This week we answer  big life dilemma like 'when are white lies ok?'

Mate this pod is going to be a cracker! If you have opinions telllll us. Join our closed facebook group 'what she said podcast' and flick us a follow on Instagram @whatshesaid.podcast

Buckle up for some belly laughs, this episode is sure to give that pelvic floor a workout. You are going to hear about some important and relatable life lessons that they wish they could have warned their 20-something selves about.

This episode is different to our past episodes.

In this episode we would like to flag that the main focus and discussion in this recording is about Sarah's experience with pregnancy loss (miscarriage). This episode is not for someone who might find this topic triggering. The tone of this podcast is quite sad and might be upsetting for some listeners. This discussion does also involve some sweary language so just be aware of that if you have some young ears around. With all of this in mind, if this episode doesn't sound like the one for you, just skip to a different episode - we won't be offended!

If you are a regular listener you know that Sarah is generally  an outrageously inappropriate oversharer, who doesn't mind people laughing at her own expense. However, when it came to sharing this experience it was a completely different kettle of fish. After a lot of discussion, Laura and Sarah decided that although this topic wasn't in the tone of their podcast, they did believe that it fit the whole core purpose of the what she said podcast, which is to help women with authentic real chat. If this episode can help one person better support someone going through pregnancy loss, or make one woman feel less alone going through pregnancy loss, then this episode was worth sharing.

Guess who's back, back again?

You heard it right, what she said podcast is back again for 2021 and it's been a hot minute (almost 2 months).  Never fear, the gals are more enthusiastic than ever and ready to bring their usual LOLs and highly opinionated, but mostly in-touch conversations to your ears.

As always, Sarah and Laura will touch on what’s been happening in their lives, including their WTF of the week, which coincidentally includes a joint realisation that they are uncoordinated after failed summer sporting activities...

They will then be deep-diving into a topic close to their own hearts 'supporting a new mum in their first year of parenthood and how babies change friendship dynamics'.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week. Buckle up and thanks for your patience xx

This week, Laura and Sarah are diving head-first into Christmas celebrations!

Laura and Sarah had their what she said Christmas celebration and stayed out past 10pm. . . Remember when you would go out on the town at 18? Staying at home drinking pre's until 10.30pm and then leaving the house?! YIKES.

Sarah is infuriated (as usual) and breathes fire during her rant of the week. If anyone was wondering what Sarah thinks of 'pet names' at work, well she is not holding back on this one.

Then, they break down the trials and tribulations of having a horrible boss with a bunch of reputable and provoking research.

What makes a horrible boss?
What can you do about it?
When is the time to get the heck out?
Why magnificent clockmakers may not make fab people managers?
What can you look for as a tip-off in an interview?

Of course, it wouldn't be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their 'yeah' and 'nah' of the week!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s what-she-said-podcast o’clock! This week, get ready for some VERY opinionated, but mostly in-touch conversations.

As always, Sarah and Laura will touch on what’s been happening in the pop culture space, like  Oscar-nominated Juno actor Elliott (previously Ellen) Page announcing they're transgender and The Bachelorette’s Elly Miles and Fraser Neate breaking-up.

Then, they will be deep-diving into the ginormous topic ‘challenging gender roles, and can women actually have it all?’.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week – and this week it’s Sarah’s turn to overshare – and boy does she go there...

Welcome back to another episode of what she said podcast!

This week, Sarah and Laura will be discussing the perfect mix of pop culture come political news stories – of course, with a side of LOLs.

Then they will be discussing the deep dive topic of the week ‘long-term relationship fatigue’ where they’ll be unpacking:

-       How the monotony of everyday life can sometimes get in the way of intimacy,

-       How important compatibility is in terms of love languages and apology languages,

-       Before coming to the pointy end where they highlight what they believe the red flags and green flags are for deciding whether or not to continue in that relationship.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week – and this week Laura definitely overshares!

Get ready for some great one-liners, slightly opinionated, but mostly in touch conversations.

WARNING: Listener discretion advised. Sarah and Laura touch on topics that may upset some listeners like eating disorders and Pete Evan's controversial neo-Nazi symbol post.

This week,  Sarah and Laura step back in time and reminisce about one of the most stupid (and hilarious) things Laura's ever did while travelling around Italy in her early 20’s (hint: it was almost a Taken moment).

They then discuss the interesting and controversial pop culture new topics of the week like Bachelor in Bondi (a could be spin-off of Bachelor in Paradise) before sharing their views on the extremely controversial Pete Evans – who has officially crossed the ethical line beyond return.

After this, they deep dive into this week’s topic "dangerous Wellness Industry” where they discuss:
- certain pseudo wellness trends that are dangerous for a woman’s physical and mental health,
- how consumerism and influencer marketing is behind a lot of the wellness industry,
- some hilarious, unnecessary and kinda gross products you can buy from Goop this Christmas.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week!

Get ready for some great one-liners, slightly opinionated, but mostly in touch conversations.

This week  Sarah and Laura will be chatting about why Trump is like that drunk guy who just won't leave the party - to which Laura shares a hilarious comparison story from her Holiday in Hawaii.

They then reveal who they think should be the next Australian Bachelor and Bachelorette in 2021 (some hilarious, but not so realistic, others we must start a petition for!).

Then they deep dive into the topic of the week "don't call me a millennial" where they highlight and debunk the many generalisations and stereotypes often thrown at the millennial generation.

For example, millennials are....
- Terrible at financial management,
- Have low work ethic, need constant reassurance and aren't loyal,
- Are lazy and selfish parents.

Of course, it won't be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week!

Get ready for some great one-liners, slightly opinionated, but mostly in touch conversations.

This week, hosts Sarah and Laura will be chatting about the debacle of obligatory wedding invites, before discussing topical news stories like the Australia Post Cartier watch scandal and their views on Pope Francis backing civil union laws (and how it’s not as good for the gay community as what you’d think).

Then buckle up for the deep dive topic of the week, which is the aftermath of COVID-19 on workplaces and relationships. What will the world look like once things calm down and will things return back to normal and is normal even a good thing?!

Of course, it won't be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week, which this week will include Sarah’s hate for the new star sign and how Laura is going to do life a little bit differently now she’s coming out of her baby bubble.
