In this calming episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, mind-body-spirit wellness coach Polis Xinaris offers a simple meditation designed to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and cultivate positive emotions — no matter what challenges your day may bring.
Polis begins by inviting listeners to create a quiet, intentional space, perhaps with a favorite object, crystal, or candle as a gentle point of focus. Through a guided breathing practice of slow, steady inhales and extended exhales, he demonstrates how conscious breathing can quiet the mind, relax the body, and bring us fully into the present moment.
As the meditation deepens, listeners are encouraged to place both hands over the heart and become aware of its natural rhythm. Polis beautifully illustrates the connection between the heart and the mind, inviting us to imagine a pathway between them. With each breath, our awareness expands, allowing our thoughts, emotions, and inner wisdom to become more fully aligned.
From this place of inner connection, he encourages us to embody the qualities we most want to experience—gratitude, love, joy, excitement, and happiness—not as distant goals, but as feelings we can choose to cultivate in the present moment.
The meditation concludes by gently returning our attention to the object before us, grounding ourselves in the here and now while carrying these uplifting emotions into the rest of the day. Polis reminds us that peace is not something we have to search for — it can begin with a single breath and a willingness to become present.

In this thought-provoking episode, Queen D. Michele invites us to consider how personal healing can become a gift not only to ourselves, but also to future generations.
Drawing from her experiences as a retired educator, light worker, and creator of an innovative social-emotional learning curriculum, Queen D. Michele shares three powerful "nuggets" that have shaped her life's work.
She begins by reminding us that many of the systems surrounding us often measure success by productivity and output rather than by the quality and purpose of our lives. Her invitation is to reclaim our time, our attention, and our authentic path, recognizing that each of us has the freedom to live with greater intention.
Her second reflection explores the growing understanding that trauma can be passed from one generation to the next. Yet alongside that reality comes hope. If emotional wounds can be inherited, she believes healing can move through generations as well. The journey begins with awareness—recognizing inherited patterns, accepting their existence, and opening ourselves to the possibility of transformation.
Finally, Queen D. Michele reflects on a profound lesson she discovered while piloting her social-emotional learning curriculum in middle schools. She observed that meaningful emotional growth cannot simply be taught through information alone. Instead, authentic guidance comes from those who have undertaken their own journey of self-awareness and healing. As she beautifully summarizes:
"The unconscious can't teach consciousness."
Rather than seeing emotional intelligence as a subject to master, she encourages us to view it as a lifelong personal practice—one that strengthens families, communities, and future generations.
This episode is a gentle reminder that every step we take toward greater awareness creates new possibilities, not only for ourselves, but for those who follow after us.
About Today's GuestQueen D. Michele is a retired K–8 educator with 27 years of teaching experience, as well as an author, blogger, light worker, way shower, and creator. In this heartfelt episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, author and medium Tammy Young shares an unforgettable true story from her book, Afterlife Bonds, reminding us that love doesn't end when someone leaves this world.
Tammy recounts traveling to California for the funeral of her brother, Matt. Already emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed, she found herself navigating unfamiliar roads without working GPS, worried about arriving late for the evening visitation. After pulling into a busy shopping center to regroup, she discovered that the visitation had been postponed because Matt's casket had been delayed.
As the stress of the moment melted away, Tammy glanced at the car parked beside her and was astonished to recognize her niece, Christina. Neither had planned to meet there. Both had arrived independently, and both were amazed by the seemingly impossible coincidence.
Reflecting on the experience, Tammy believes it was far more than chance. Knowing her brother's playful personality, she felt certain that Matt had orchestrated the encounter as one final practical joke—while also providing comfort, reassurance, and connection during a difficult time.
Through this remarkable story, Tammy invites us to remain open to the possibility that our loved ones continue to accompany us in meaningful ways. Sometimes their presence is felt through memories. Sometimes through unexpected moments of peace. And sometimes, through extraordinary synchronicities that remind us love continues beyond the physical world.
Whether you view these moments as coincidence, intuition, or spiritual guidance, Tammy's story encourages us to notice the unexpected, trust our inner knowing, and remain open to the mystery that surrounds us every day.
About Today's GuestTammy Young is an author, medium, and spiritual teacher whose work explores the continuing bonds we share with loved ones after they pass. Through personal experiences, intuitive guidance, and heartfelt storytelling, she offers comfort and hope to those navigating grief and loss.
Her book, Afterlife Bonds, shares true stories of after-death communication, synchronicity, and the enduring connections that continue long after physical separation.

In this encouraging episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, author, poet, and publisher Dr. Nick Courtright shares a simple yet powerful insight for anyone who has ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or afraid to begin.
Nick reflects on the familiar experience of "writer's block," suggesting that it isn't always a lack of inspiration—but often a reluctance to start. Rather than waiting for the perfect idea or the right moment, he encourages us to simply begin. Even if the first words aren't perfect, the creative process has a way of building its own momentum.
As we continue taking small steps, our thoughts become clearer, our confidence grows, and inspiration begins to flow. What starts as uncertainty can gradually transform into clarity through action.
Nick extends this lesson beyond writing. Whether we're pursuing a creative dream, launching a new project, or making an important life change, he reminds us that meaningful opportunities often come to those who are willing to put themselves out into the world. Instead of waiting for circumstances to change, we can choose to take the next step with courage and trust.
His closing message is both practical and inspiring: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Sometimes peace isn't found in having all the answers—it begins with the willingness to move forward, one small action at a time.
About Today's GuestDr. Nick Courtright is the founder and CEO of Atmosphere Press, an independent publishing company based in Austin, Texas. A poet, author, editor, and publishing advocate, Nick is passionate about helping writers bring their stories and ideas into the world. Through Atmosphere Press, he has supported hundreds of authors in transforming inspiration into published books.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, Carina Marshall offers a gentle and powerful reflection on one of humanity's deepest desires: inner peace.
In a world filled with uncertainty, conflict, change, and constant distractions, many of us search for peace in our circumstances. We believe that when life becomes easier, relationships improve, finances stabilize, or challenges disappear, peace will finally arrive.
But Carina invites us to consider a different possibility: what if peace is not something we find outside ourselves, but something we discover within?
Through thoughtful insights and spiritual wisdom, she explores how life's difficulties can become invitations to greater understanding, compassion, and self-awareness.
What You'll Experience in This Episode* Why inner peace does not depend on perfect circumstances * How life's challenges and disappointments can become opportunities for growth * The role of "contrast" in helping us understand ourselves more deeply * The difference between reacting to life and responding with wisdom * How cultivating peace within ourselves contributes to a more peaceful world * A reminder that lasting peace begins in the human heart

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, author, artist, and creative thinker Sean B.W. Parker shares practical wisdom for anyone seeking to live a more creative life.
Sean reminds us that creativity is not a mysterious gift reserved for a select few — it is a practice. By creating simple systems to capture ideas, trusting the creative process, and refusing to give up after the first attempt, we can transform inspiration into meaningful work.
Whether you're writing a book, launching a project, making art, or simply trying to think more creatively, Sean offers encouragement to embrace curiosity, persistence, and the imperfect first draft.
What You'll Hear in This Episode* Why keeping a notebook can become your most valuable creative tool * The importance of capturing ideas when they arrive * How over-editing can block creative momentum * The value of allowing ideas to flow naturally before judging them * Ways to create a personal system for organizing and developing creative thoughts * Why persistence matters more than perfection * The long-term benefits of returning to your notes and unfinished ideas
A Moment to ReflectHow many ideas have you had that were never written down?
Today, consider carrying a notebook—or creating a digital space—to collect thoughts, observations, dreams, questions, and inspirations. Rather than worrying whether an idea is good enough, simply capture it.
Creativity often grows from seeds that seem small in the moment.

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace, a moment to reflect, recharge, and renew.
In this episode, writer and creativity guide Lisa Tener invites listeners into the playful and spacious world of poetry.
Lisa shares two original poems that explore very human experiences: exhaustion and the deeper questions we carry through life.
The first poem uses simple, rhythmic language and wide spaces between words to capture the feeling of being worn out — and the natural cycle of rest, reset, and renewal. Through playful imagery of a dog chasing and rediscovering a bone, the poem gently reminds us that renewal often begins when we pause, release, and allow ourselves to start again.
Her second poem turns toward deeper territory, reflecting on the emotional and spiritual “bones” we inherit from our ancestors — beliefs, wounds, and questions that can linger across generations. Rather than offering easy answers, the poem invites curiosity and compassion as we explore the patterns and stories that shape us.
Lisa closes by encouraging listeners to approach poetry as an experiment in awareness and creativity. Whether through journaling, writing a poem, or simply sitting with a question, creative expression can become a pathway to insight and healing.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we welcome nutritionist, registered dietitian, and wellness guide Ella Davar, whose journey from rural Russia to the U.S. reveals a powerful truth: what we need for healing has often been within us all along. (She shared her story in an interview with Mark in 2024.)
Ella shares how growing up in a self-sufficient family, where food was grown, prepared, and respected, planted the seeds for her modern approach to health. After pursuing success in America and building a career in finance, she felt called back to her roots, blending science, nutrition, and emotional healing into what she now calls the Gut–Brain Method.
What You’ll Experience in This Episode
A Moment to Reflect
Ella invites us to consider a simple yet profound question:
Why do we do what we do when we already know what’s good for us?
As you sit with this, notice what arises—without judgment. Beneath habits and patterns, there may be a deeper story asking to be seen, understood, and gently released.
Closing Thought
True healing isn’t just about what we eat—it’s about how we feel, how we care for ourselves, and how deeply we believe we are worthy of that care.

In this illuminating episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we explore the transformative concept known as the Power of Eight — inspired by the research of Lynne McTaggart and the applied innovation model of Mark Stinson.
Discover how gathering a small group of people with a shared intention (even for just 10 minutes) can shift brainwave patterns, dissolve the sense of separation, and create a powerful state of connection and oneness. Like a beam of focused light, collective intention becomes a force that cuts through distraction and taps into something deeper and universal.
The episode also introduces the rebound effect—a profound insight into how directing healing energy toward others activates the body’s relaxation and restoration systems. In a beautiful reversal of traditional self-help thinking, we find that helping others may be the most direct path to our own healing and peace.
Finally, we explore how this same principle fuels creativity and innovation. By bringing together diverse perspectives in a focused, ego-free space, the “N-of-8” model demonstrates how collective intention can unlock powerful collaboration, accelerate problem-solving, and spark breakthrough ideas.
This episode is a gentle reminder: when we shift our focus outward in service and connection, we unlock something extraordinary within ourselves.
What You’ll Experience in This Episode:
A Moment of Reflection:
Where might you invite others into shared intention?
What could shift if your focus moved from “me” to “we”?
By directing our energy toward the healing and growth of others, we discover a powerful pathway to our own peace, connection, and creative expansion.

Five minutes of peace — whenever you need it.
In this calming and empowering episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we’re guided by Stephanie Curd of Immersive Spirit through a gentle meditation designed to reconnect us with our inner wisdom — our “inner oracle.”
Through breath, body awareness, and visualization, Stephanie invites us to release tension, quiet the mental noise, and turn inward. At the heart of this practice is a glowing light within the chest — a symbol of intuition that has always been present, steady, and trustworthy.
This meditation reminds us that intuition is not something we need to earn or learn from outside sources — it is a natural, innate guidance system. By slowing down and listening, we can access clarity, peace, and a deeper sense of self-trust.
Listeners are encouraged to carry this awareness into their day — noticing those quiet inner nudges and honoring the voice within that speaks before logic.
Key Takeaways
• Intuition is your birthright — not a rare gift, but an inner knowing available to everyone
• The body holds wisdom — through sensations, feelings, and subtle signals
• Stillness creates clarity — when we pause, insight naturally rises
• You don’t need to have all the answers — presence is enough
• Your inner voice is trustworthy — even when it doesn’t follow logic
Memorable Moment
“This is your intuition. This is your inner oracle… and she has never once led you wrong.”

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace — a moment to reflect, recharge, and renew. Each episode offers a brief meditation or inspirational reading to help you reconnect with calm, clarity, and presence.
In this episode, our guest is Saw Myint, joining us from Sydney, Australia. Saw's Facebook page
Saw's Website
Saw shares a deeply personal reflection on mental well-being and the importance of caring for our inner life. Having experienced periods of depression earlier in life, Saw speaks openly about how spirituality and self-reflection helped him find a path toward peace — and how that journey now inspires her to help others who may feel lost or overwhelmed.
Saw reminds us that much of our emotional suffering comes from worries and memories that are no longer present. Feelings of happiness or unhappiness arise and pass, just like everything else in life. When we pause long enough to notice them, we begin to see that many of our fears live only in our thoughts.
Through a gentle practice of awareness, Saw encourages us to let go of what we cannot control and to use our time wisely. Life is short, she reminds us, and our time is one of our most precious resources. Choosing how we spend it — whether through service, compassion, or personal growth — shapes the meaning of our lives.
This episode offers a reminder that peace often begins with a small daily moment of stillness, where we allow our thoughts to pass and reconnect with the present.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we are guided through a gentle reflection on navigating difficult conversations with greater presence and compassion.
Rather than avoiding or bracing against these moments, this practice invites us to slow down, breathe, and soften our inner response. Through mindful awareness, we begin to notice the emotions that arise — tension, fear, defensiveness — and create space to meet them with calm instead of reaction.
This episode reminds us that difficult conversations are not just challenges to get through, but opportunities to listen more deeply, speak more truthfully, and remain grounded in our own center.
With a focus on breath, body awareness, and intention, we are encouraged to approach these interactions with clarity, kindness, and self-trust.
Key Takeaways• Pause — a breath can shift the entire tone of a conversation
• Stay connected to your body — grounding helps you remain present
• You don’t need to control the outcome — focus on how you show up
• Compassion changes everything — for yourself and the other person
• Difficult conversations can deepen connection when approached with awareness
Memorable Reflection“You can meet this moment with calm… and let your presence lead the conversation.”The next time a difficult conversation arises,
pause…
breathe…
and remember —
You can choose presence over reaction,
and compassion over control.
In this reflective episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, writer, coach, and creative guide Lisa Tener invites us into the gentle and accessible world of poetry. She reminds us that poetry isn’t reserved for experts or scholars—it’s a natural form of expression available to anyone willing to listen inwardly and explore what arises.
Lisa begins by encouraging a spirit of curiosity when approaching poetry. Whether writing or listening, poetry can help us explore sound, emotion, rhythm, and imagination. Rather than worrying about technique, she suggests simply asking: What does this poem make me feel? What does it awaken inside me?
She shares a short poem that describes poetry as a doorway at the center of the universe—an opening that invites us to step beyond the ordinary and return with words, images, and inspiration flowing freely. Through this metaphor, Lisa reminds us that creativity is always available when we open ourselves to it.
In her second poem, “Poetry Night at the Rite Aid Parking Lot,” Lisa captures a spontaneous moment of creative awakening. Inspired by the energy of fellow writers after a conference, she pulls over under the bright lights of a quiet parking lot and begins writing lines as they arrive. In that moment, she imagines others doing the same—poets appearing unexpectedly, responding to the quiet call of creativity, filling their notebooks under ordinary lights in an ordinary place.
Through this story, Lisa offers a simple but powerful invitation: creativity can happen anywhere, at any moment. All it takes is a willingness to pause, listen, and let words emerge.
As the episode closes, she encourages listeners to try writing a few lines themselves—perhaps even pulling over somewhere unexpected, like that parking lot, to capture whatever wants to be expressed.
Lisa Tener is a book coach, writing mentor, and author who helps writers bring their ideas to life. You can learn more about her work, her writing community, and a free nonfiction book writing course at lisatener.com.

In this reflective reading, listeners are invited to step away from the habit of comparing themselves to others and instead honor their own unique path. The message reminds us that each person carries a distinct perspective, shaped by their experiences, quirks, and individuality. These differences are not flaws to hide, but gifts that bring creativity, discovery, and new solutions into the world.
The reading acknowledges that while society encourages certain forms of conformity — such as respecting laws and treating others with kindness — true fulfillment does not come from trying to reshape ourselves to match someone else’s life. Constant comparison often creates unrealistic expectations and unnecessary disappointment. It can also lead to resentment, when the truth is that everyone is simply walking their own journey.
Listeners are encouraged to appreciate qualities they admire in others while remembering that they were never meant to become someone else. Life is too short to spend it pretending. When we remain true to ourselves, we naturally attract people who value us for who we really are.
This episode gently reminds us that authenticity is a form of peace. When we stop measuring ourselves against others, we create space to live more freely, more honestly, and more fully.
Take a moment today to release comparison and reconnect with your own unique place in the world.

In this reflective episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, choreographer and educator Alexandra Beller guides us through a simple yet profound breathing practice rooted in awareness, not control.
Rather than “holding” the breath, Alexandra invites us to pause at the top of the inhale and the bottom of the exhale, waiting until the body naturally asks for the next breath. In these quiet, in-between spaces, something deeper begins to emerge — sensation, awareness, even insight.
This practice highlights breath as a bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind, offering an embodied way to access creativity, release habitual patterns, and reconnect with inner rhythm.
Listeners are encouraged to explore these pauses as portals — places where inspiration (literally, “inhalation”) can arise when we soften effort and begin to listen.
Key Takeaways
• Pause, don’t force — allow the body to guide the rhythm of breath
• The spaces between breaths are powerful — moments of insight and awareness often arise there
• Breath connects mind and body — linking conscious choice with unconscious processes
• Creativity is natural — our first form of creativity is problem-solving
• Notice and release habits — breath can help us interrupt patterns that no longer serve us
Memorable Moment
“It’s less about control and more about listening for the body to say, I need something… or I am ready to let go of something.”

Closing Reflection
Take a breath…and wait. In the quiet space before the next inhale, what is your body ready to receive?
Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace, a brief pause in your day to reflect, recharge, and renew. Each episode offers a moment of insight or meditation designed to awaken something meaningful within you.
In this episode, we explore the idea that how we manage our energy may matter more than how we manage our time. Many of us structure our lives around schedules, deadlines, and productivity goals, believing that careful time management will help us accomplish everything we hope to do. Yet experts increasingly suggest that sustainable productivity and well-being come not from controlling time, but from caring for the energy we bring to each moment.
The reflection invites us to reconsider the common saying that life is a marathon, not a sprint. When we push through tasks without replenishing our energy, we may find ourselves exhausted, unable to fully enjoy the very moments we planned for rest or connection. Instead, the practice of energy management encourages us to notice what restores us—activities that lift our mood, refresh our creativity, and help us feel present again.
Listeners are encouraged to think about simple ways to renew their energy: identifying activities that bring joy or calm, allowing more generous time for breaks, celebrating small accomplishments along the way, and giving themselves permission to pause and recover when needed.
The message is simple but powerful: our inner energy doesn’t follow the clock. When we learn to listen to it and care for it, we can move through life’s long journey with greater ease, resilience, and peace.

https://www.facebook.com/InnaSegalAuthor
Inna shares why ancestral healing matters — how many of our beliefs, behaviors, and emotional patterns are inherited or unconsciously learned from our family lineage. Through her oracle deck, she invites listeners to reconnect with themselves, honor both the challenges and strengths passed down through generations, and consciously transform what no longer serves.
During this episode, Inna draws a card for our listeners: “Start Living Fully.”
The message speaks to releasing the protective shells formed in childhood — barriers created to avoid pain that can also block connection, intuition, and joy. She explains how unresolved trauma may activate fight, flight, or freeze responses in the emotional body and nervous system, keeping us stuck in fear or self-protection.
Inna guides us through a gentle healing practice, encouraging listeners to:
• Tune inward and notice where they feel numb or guarded
• Breathe into areas of protection
• Listen for the deeper message behind emotional defenses
• Reflect on how to release old patterns and open the heart to courage and new possibilities
She reminds us that ancestral healing is about recognizing what we’ve carried, honoring where we come from, and choosing to live more fully in the present.
Inna also shares that her work explores themes such as healing relationships with parents, embracing feminine and masculine lineages, meeting the inner child, reclaiming worthiness, and transforming ancestral shadows — offering tools to support becoming the best version of yourself.

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace — a time to reflect, recharge, and renew. In this episode, we explore nine simple, practical steps for creating powerful affirmations that support mindset shifts, personal growth, and conscious creation.
Affirmations are more than positive thinking. When practiced with intention, they become a daily tool for clarity, confidence, and emotional alignment. From athletes to entrepreneurs, people around the world are using affirmations to stay focused on their goals and create meaningful change from the inside out.
In this reading, listeners are guided through nine key principles for crafting affirmations that truly resonate:
• Begin with “I am” statements to make your affirmations personal and immediate
• Keep everything in the present tense, as if your desire is already unfolding
• Focus on positive language and what you want, not what you’re trying to avoid
• Keep affirmations short, clear, and easy to remember
• Be specific so your intentions feel real and tangible
• Include action words to give your affirmations energy and movement
• Add positive emotion like gratitude, joy, or pride
• Stay attentive to what feels authentic for you
• Build consistency by repeating affirmations daily as a simple habit
This episode reminds us that powerful affirmations combine clarity, emotion, and repetition. When practiced regularly, they can help reframe old thought patterns and support the manifestation of a more aligned, intentional life.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we welcome special guest Jill Amy Sager, who shares an abbreviated chapter from her book Guidance from the Universe: Hopeful Messages for Everyday Challenges. Today’s reading centers on the theme of letting go — releasing what no longer serves us so we can move forward with greater ease, freedom, and clarity.

Jill begins with a channeled message from a loving universal source, reminding us that holding on tightly can feel like clenching a fist. The tighter we grip, the more pain we experience. Letting go, by contrast, opens doors. It allows us to expand into change, into healing, and into new possibilities.
Through personal stories and client experiences, Jill illustrates how attachment can quietly limit our lives — and how surrendering control often creates unexpected breakthroughs. She shares how releasing a painful relationship helped her reclaim her own happiness, and how a client’s decision to loosen her grip on a long-held dream ultimately opened the door to a beautiful new beginning.
This reading invites us to reflect on where we may be holding on out of fear, habit, or a desire for certainty — and how choosing to let go can restore our sense of peace and inner balance.
Jill closes with thoughtful reflection questions, encouraging listeners to explore what they might release, what shifts when they do, and what new opportunities may arise when we soften our grip.

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace — a time for you to reflect, recharge, and renew. Five minutes to awaken something within yourself. Created by ThePeaceRoom.love.
In today’s episode, we explore a simple yet powerful practice: learning how to accept people for who they are — whether they’re coworkers, family members, or acquaintances who sometimes get under your skin.
This gentle reflection offers three grounding steps to help ease stress, soften judgment, and bring more peace into everyday relationships:
✨ Recognize that everyone is unique.
Each person has their own path, values, and timing. When we release expectations that others should live the way we do, it becomes easier to honor their individuality.
✨ Allow disagreement without disconnection.
It’s okay to see things differently. When someone you care about makes choices you wouldn’t make yourself, this is an invitation to practice trust, curiosity, and compassion — especially when no harm is being done.
✨ Bring the focus back to yourself.
The only person you can truly change is you. By shifting attention away from how others live their lives and toward choices that bring you more joy, acceptance naturally follows.
This episode reminds us that peace often begins within — and that when we stop trying to manage others, we create space for greater ease, understanding, and happiness in our own lives.

In this inspiring episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we’re joined by special guest Rand Selig, who shares reflections drawn from his book, Thriving: How to Create a Healthier, Happier, and More Prosperous Life.
Rand opens with a powerful metaphor: there are two wolves inside each of us—one fueled by joy, love, and happiness, and the other fueled by anger, hate, and greed. The question is simple, but life-changing:
Which wolf are you feeding?
From there, Rand speaks directly to something many people quietly carry: the moment when success on paper no longer matches how you feel inside. Even with growth, productivity, and accomplishment, you may feel disconnected, drained, or unsure whether this is what “making it” was supposed to feel like.
Rand reminds us that true thriving doesn’t always come from a new strategy—it often begins with deeper self-awareness, emotional healing, and honest inner work.
In this episode, Rand explores:
Rand closes with an uplifting invitation to live with courage, openness, and presence—encouraging listeners to choose love, take responsibility, and step fully into the life they want to create.

In today’s episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, author, speaker, and mindfulness teacher Crystal T. Harrell shares a powerful original story written during a moment of deep reflection — The Girl With the Golden Wings. Through poetic imagery and soulful intuition, Crystal guides listeners into a meditation on fear, trust, courage, and the inner strength we often forget we carry.
This beautifully told metaphor invites us all to consider the edges we approach in our own lives — the places where fear whispers “What if I fall?” and where joy reminds us of our ability to rise.
A Meditative StoryCrystal’s narrative follows a girl standing at the edge of her next becoming. She feels the weight of doubt pulling her backward, familiar as an old friend. Fear warns her of falling. Envy’s arrows echo past wounds. The shadows seem safer.
But joy — gentle and steady — places a hand at the small of her back and helps her remember:
“You can do more because you have become more.”
A golden ray catches her eye, revealing her own wings — strong, luminous, and ready.
With trust as her key, she leaps.
And instead of falling, she flies.
Crystal’s story becomes a meditation on resilience, transformation, and the deep truth that growth requires trust — in ourselves, in our journey, and in the unseen joy that accompanies us.
Key Themes• Courage at the edge of change
• Recognizing fear without surrendering to it
• The power of joy as an inner guide
• Remembering your innate ability to soar
• Passing wisdom forward to others on the path
Crystal’s words offer a gentle reminder that the strength of our wings is built through life’s challenges — and that trust transforms those challenges into flight.

In this gentle, grounding meditation, intuitive healing facilitator Cristina MacMahon guides us through a crystal-based journey of alignment, clarity, and inner coherence.
Listeners are invited to settle into stillness, soften the body, and imagine holding a clear quartz crystal — a symbol of purity, order, and coherent light. From this place of presence, Cristina leads us through a slow, embodied exploration of the chakra system, using the crystal as an energetic guide.
Beginning at the root, we connect deeply with the Earth, cultivating a sense of safety, belonging, and grounding. As the meditation moves upward, each chakra is gently activated and nourished with its corresponding color and quality — creativity, personal power, love, expression, intuition, and spiritual connection.
Throughout the practice, the quartz crystal grows and expands, forming a luminous pillar of light along the spine. This steady, harmonious flow links Earth and sky, body and spirit, creating a sense of balance, coherence, and calm integration.
The meditation closes with a quiet invitation to return gently, carrying this clarity and alignment into the rest of the day.
A beautiful practice for anyone seeking grounding, energetic balance, and a deeper connection to themselves and the natural intelligence of crystals.

In today’s episode, our guest Kamy Godoy guides listeners through an Alpha Induction, the first step in her emotional clearing process. This practice gently shifts us from the left-brain thinking mind into the intuitive, feeling body where deep emotional work becomes possible. Kamy explains that the Alpha state is similar to meditation, yet is intentionally practiced while sitting upright to maintain coherence and access to the subconscious.
What You’ll Experience
Kamy leads a grounding, centering induction that includes:
• Dropping into the body
Feeling the heaviness, earthiness, and the quiet shift from thinking to sensing.
• Releasing all striving
Entering the peaceful state of non-doing — the space where true healing can occur.
• Guided breathwork
A rhythmic count of inhaling and exhaling to soften the nervous system and deepen awareness.
• Visualizing protective light
A golden beam entering the body, forming an energized sphere that expands into a strong, protective auric field.
• Earth-rooted grounding
Drawing blue-green energy up from the center of the earth, releasing negativity back down for neutralization.
• Full-body emotional awareness
Scanning from feet to head to notice sensations, congestion, or feelings emerging from the subconscious.
• Third-eye activation
Bringing cosmic light from above and earth energy from below into the center of intuition.
• Witness consciousness
Gently stepping outside the emotional experience to observe without attachment.
She closes by bringing listeners back to full awareness with a slow, steady count from one to five.
This induction mirrors the opening process she uses in emotional clearing sessions, preparing clients for deeper work with clarity and safety.

Today, Queen D Michele invites listeners into a transformative inner inquiry with one fundamental question:
Who’s driving—your ego or your soul self?
From the moment we are born, we are guided by a pure inner voice—the quiet awareness that knows who we truly are. But as we grow, our senses pull us outward. What we see, hear, touch, and experience shapes a new identity, and the ego begins to take the lead.
Queen D Michele describes how:
Meanwhile, our soul self—the truest, most expansive part of us—remains present but unheard.
Reflection Prompt from Queen D. Michele
Ask yourself today: Who’s driving?
Is it the ego with its stories, fears, and conditioning?
Or your soul self—your truest, most loving, most awakened essence?
Returning to your soul self is not a single moment—it is a practice, a remembering, and a daily choice to live from inner truth.

In today’s episode, Kelly Jean guides us through an exploration inspired by the work of Gregg Braden — scientist, researcher, and visionary — whose teachings bridge science, spirituality, and human potential in extraordinary ways.
The Pure Human Within
What does it really mean to be a “Pure Human” in our modern world?
Are we limited by our biology … or are we far more capable than we’ve ever been taught?
Drawing from Braden’s latest book, Pure Human: The Hidden Truth of Our Divinity, Power, and Destiny, this reflection invites us to reconsider who we are — and what we are truly capable of.
Key ConceptsWe Are More Than BiologyBraden describes humans as “soft technology” — beings wired for intuition, creativity, healing, and inner intelligence.
We are not only responding to life…we are shaping it.
Heart–Brain CoherenceOne of Braden’s central insights is coherence — the harmonious alignment between the heart and the brain. This coherence becomes measurable when we experience compassion, gratitude, or genuine care. When the heart shifts, the entire nervous system shifts. The body reorganizes into harmony. The electromagnetic field changes — subtly shaping the world around us.
This is where Reiki beautifully aligns with Braden’s research:
It is something we generate.
Excerpt from Pure Human (Chapter 4: Awakening Our Superpowers)Kelly Jean shares Gregg Braden’s discussion of the “little brain in the heart” — the 40,000 sensory neurites discovered in 1991 that form a sophisticated neural network.
This research shows that the heart is not simply a pump. It is a center of intelligence, intuition, memory, and communication. When we shift our inner state, even slightly, we unlock creative potential, clarity, healing, and connection. The “Pure Human” is not something we become someday.
It is the awakened version of who we already are.
Guided ReflectionKelly Jean invites listeners into a simple practice:
• Place a hand on your heart
• Take a slow inhale
• Exhale softly
• Feel the rhythm
• Sense coherence rising within
This subtle alignment of heart and mind becomes a small, steady practice of peace — something we can carry throughout our day.
Thank you for joining this moment of connection, curiosity, and coherence — and for giving yourself 5 Minutes of Peace.

He joins us to read an excerpt from his book, Edifying Children of a Lesser God, specifically the chapter titled “Stress and Suffering.”
Dean explores the roots of human suffering and how our perception of self directly shapes our experiences. He explains that suffering is not an unavoidable part of life, but rather a distortion of perception — a learned belief that can be unlearned through conscious awareness and healing.
He illustrates this concept with a powerful metaphor:
Dean reminds us that our reactions are reflections of our internal condition. As we evolve, we begin to interpret life from a higher, more peaceful state of consciousness — reducing suffering and expanding awareness.

Today’s episode features Janet Attwood, bestselling author, speaker, passion coach, Transcendental Meditation teacher, Ayurveda advocate, and creator of the globally celebrated program The Passion Test.
You can explore Janet’s work and take The Passion Test at: www.thepassiontest.com
With more than 20 books and a lifetime devoted to helping people discover what lights them up, Janet joins us to share her wisdom on how to stay creatively inspired, remove limiting beliefs, and live a truly passionate life.
Janet is the creator of The Passion Test, a powerful self-discovery process that helps you get crystal clear on what matters most in your life. Through her teachings, Janet empowers individuals to stop living life on autopilot and instead reach into their genius, uncover their gifts, and share them with the world.
Her central message: Passion fuels purpose, and purpose fuels joy.
In this episode (excerpted from an interview with Mark in 2021), Janet guides us through a reflection on:
1. What Passion Really Is
Passion is what you love.
What you care about.
What gets you out of bed in the morning.
What lights your inner fire.
And everyone has the desire to live a passionate life because we want to know we are not simply drifting—we want to create.
2. Why Clarity Matters
Janet explains that the Passion Test is filled with exercises that help you get so clear on your desires that when you close your eyes, you can actually see the life you want to create.
It is an inside-out process—noticing the visions, feelings, and desires that arise when you ask:
“When my life is ideal, I am…”
3. Becoming a “Manifestation Magnet”
Janet teaches the ancient Vedic principle:
“Curving back on myself, I create again and again.”
Through intentional reflection — across career, relationships, health, spirituality, lifestyle, and your environment — you begin to see the elements that truly matter to you.
With enough clarity, vision turns to magnetism.
The people, places, and opportunities begin to appear.
The Formula for Living a Passionate Life
Janet shares her signature three-step formula:
1. INTENTION
Get crystal clear on what you want.
Take the Passion Test to identify your top five passions.
2. ATTENTION
What you put your attention on grows.
Focus your energy on what you choose to create — not what is lacking.
3. NO TENSION
Do all you can do…and then surrender.
Let go. Trust. Allow something even better to arrive.
This is when manifestation accelerates.
This is when passion turns into reality.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we welcome Stan Lai, one of the world’s most acclaimed playwrights and theatre directors.
Born in the U.S. and raised in both America and Taiwan, Stan earned his PhD from UC Berkeley and has since written over 40 groundbreaking plays, including A Dream Like a Dream and Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land. He is also the co-founder of the Wuzhen Theatre Festival and Huichang Theatre Village, and the creative force behind Theatre Above in Shanghai, a venue devoted entirely to his work.
Today, Stan reads from Chapter Four of his new book, CreativitRy, released by Anthem Press — a deeply reflective and practical guide to awakening your own creative potential. Drawing on Buddhist philosophy and his own artistic journey, Stan explores the balance of wisdom and method, two essential parts of the creative process.
He shares a transformative moment from a teaching trip to India, where a discussion with a Buddhist monk led him to realize that creativity, like spiritual practice, requires both technical skill and inner wisdom. Without this balance, our work—and our lives—remain incomplete.
“To be an artist, you need to have skills. At the same time, you must have the wisdom to know what to use those skills for.”

In this episode, Kelly Jean explores the sacred rhythm of Reiki Drumming — a practice that unites sound, vibration, and universal life force energy to restore balance and peace within.
Across cultures and centuries, drumming has been used in ceremonies, meditation, and healing rituals. Its steady rhythm mirrors the heartbeat — the pulse of life — grounding us in the present moment. When combined with Reiki, this timeless rhythm transforms into a channel for divine healing and renewal.
Kelly explains how Reiki Drumming entrains the brain into calm, meditative states, clears stagnant energy, and fills the space with light and harmony. Each beat becomes a prayer — a vibration of intention that bridges the physical and spiritual worlds.
At The Peace Room, Reiki Drumming is woven into workshops, Reiki Spa Days, and individual sessions, offering clients a deeply grounding and heart-centered experience. Whether through gentle meditative rhythms or powerful emotional releases, Reiki Drumming reminds us that we can always return to center — to the still point within.
Listeners are invited to imagine the heartbeat of the drum resonating in their chest and breathe — releasing what no longer serves them with each exhale, returning to balance with every beat.

In this guided meditation episode of Five Minutes of Peace, we welcome back life coach David Lawson to lead listeners through a transformative visualization to help release limiting beliefs and consciously create the future they want.
David begins with grounding breathwork—inviting you to sit comfortably, breathe deeply, and feel energy rise from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head. As you settle into stillness, he guides you to imagine a peaceful place in nature — a beach, a forest, or a meadow — where your mind and body can relax into calm awareness.
He then explains how the power of conscious thought can rewire your brain. By recognizing and releasing unwanted emotions or stories that no longer serve you, you can shift from anxiety and self-doubt toward freedom and empowerment. Through this process, David teaches that awareness gives you choice — the ability to stop old patterns, cancel them, and consciously create new beliefs aligned with your higher self.
Listeners are invited to:
The meditation closes with gentle reminders to breathe, relax, and re-enter your day with renewed energy and awareness.

This simple yet powerful practice is one you can use anytime to release tension, soothe emotions, and return to your inner stillness. Marcy reminds us that healing begins with presence—and that even a few conscious breaths can bring us home to ourselves.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, listeners are invited to explore how Reiki can be used to bring calm, balance, and harmony to every part of a journey—from the moment you pack your bags to the moment you return home.
Through five simple yet powerful practices, this reading offers a mindful way to travel with greater peace and ease:
Reiki Your Itinerary – Before your trip, send Reiki energy to your travel plans, setting intentions for smooth connections, safe passage, and joyful discoveries along the way.
Charge Your Luggage – Infuse your bags with Reiki for safe handling and timely arrival, wrapping them in light and intention for security throughout your travels.
Practice In Transit – Use self-Reiki during flights, drives, or train rides to relieve fatigue, ease anxiety, and maintain energetic balance while on the move.
Share Reiki with Companions – Send Reiki to fellow travelers, friends, or family to promote patience, harmony, and mutual enjoyment of the journey.
Infuse Your Accommodations – Upon arrival, use Reiki to cleanse and bless your hotel room or temporary stay, creating a calm and welcoming environment for rest and renewal.
These practices remind us that Reiki can travel with us anywhere, transforming ordinary trips into experiences of presence and peace.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, Reiki Master, psychic medium, and massage therapist Kristy Lageson shares a moving excerpt from The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo. This reflection invites listeners to explore the deep and sometimes challenging practice of loving ourselves—and how that love connects us to the world around us.
Kristy reads about the courage it takes to stay loyal to something no one else can see, and the quiet strength required to nurture our own self-worth. Through poetic imagery—like feeding a “clear bird” that only you can see—Mark Nepo illustrates how self-love transforms secrecy into light and brings us back to the oneness of life.
Kristy also shares from her own experience as a healer and intuitive, weaving together themes of Reiki, mediumship, and massage therapy. Her reading offers a gentle reminder that when we believe in what no one else can see, we discover our own wings and our shared connection with all living things.
This episode is an invitation to pause, reflect, and remember that every moment—no matter how difficult—is a fine moment to live, and a fine moment to be fully present.

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, we explore one of the most common questions Reiki practitioners and students ask: How is Holy Fire® Reiki different from traditional Usui Reiki?
Both are forms of Reiki — a Japanese technique for relaxation, stress reduction, and healing — but they represent different expressions of the same universal life force energy. This short reflection explains the distinctions while honoring both traditions as equally valuable and transformative.
Key Insights:
This episode reminds us that Reiki, whether traditional Usui or Holy Fire®, is a path of evolution, connection, and love. Each system offers its own doorway into higher awareness and deeper peace.

Reiki for Pets – Five Ways to Create a Peaceful Connection
In this episode, we explore how Reiki can deepen the bond between you and your beloved animal companions. Reiki for pets works in the same way it does for people—bringing relaxation, balance, and healing energy—while also honoring the unconditional love our pets share with us every day.
Here are five simple ways to bring Reiki into your pet care routine:
Healing Touch – When petting, grooming, or cuddling your animal, open yourself as a channel for Reiki and let your touch become a conduit for comfort, ease, and unconditional love.
Reiki-Infused Food and Water – Hold your pet’s bowls briefly and visualize filling their meals with Reiki light to support vitality and well-being from the inside out.
Soothing Stress – In moments of anxiety—such as storms, fireworks, or changes in routine—offer calming Reiki energy to create a safe, peaceful environment.
Support at the Vet – Send Reiki before and during veterinary visits to help ease fear and encourage calm cooperation, supporting both your pet and the care team.
Shared Reiki Moments – Take time to sit quietly together, sharing Reiki energy for mutual healing, deepened connection, and a sense of peace.
This practice not only benefits your pets but also nurtures your own sense of presence, intuition, and compassion.

In this episode, meditation teacher and retreat leader Tania Ho shares a reading from her favorite book, The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Focusing on the chapter about anger, Tania invites us to reconsider this often misunderstood emotion.
Instead of being stuffed down or ignored, anger is meant to be listened to. It is a voice, a map, and a loyal companion pointing us toward action, boundaries, and growth. Tania reflects on how anger signals the death of old patterns and the birth of new possibilities. When honored, anger becomes a tool that fuels creativity, helps us treat our ideas with respect, and reminds us to act in our own best interest.
She closes with a reminder that creative recovery is not linear—growth happens in cycles, with steps forward and pauses for rest. By treating ourselves with gentleness and compassion, we create the conditions for meaningful change.
This episode offers a powerful reframe: anger is not the enemy, but a guide toward living more authentically and courageously.

In this episode, author and storyteller Will Cady shares a reading from his book Which Way Is North: A Creative Compass for Makers, Marketers, and Mystics.
Through the myth and legacy of bluesman Robert Johnson, Will reflects on the profound choices we make with our creative gifts. Johnson’s hands carried him from the fields of Mississippi to a San Antonio hotel room where he recorded 29 songs that became the foundation of rock and roll. His story—woven with myth, music, and mystery—raises timeless questions about inspiration, sacrifice, and what it means to leave a mark on culture.
Will explores how Johnson’s influence echoes through generations of musicians, from Muddy Waters to Led Zeppelin, from Bob Dylan to Amy Winehouse, reminding us of the delicate dance between creativity, commerce, and the soul.
This reading, “Robert Johnson’s Hands,” invites us to consider what we give, what we create, and how our choices ripple far beyond our own lives.

On September 22, the Sun enters Libra, marking the Autumn Equinox. Jane reflects on this moment of balance—equal day and night—as an invitation to restore harmony in our lives. This equinox follows two September eclipses (Sept 7 and Sept 21), amplifying themes of endings, beginnings, and fated shifts.
Jane shares how each zodiac sign, especially by rising sign, might experience these energies over the coming months:
Jane reminds us that balance at the equinox is about letting go of what no longer serves, creating space for growth and harmony.

His latest single, Eternal Peace, a deeply introspective track that explores life, the beyond, and the serenity that awaits us all.
Blending classic rock, folk, and contemporary indie influences, Sol delivers his signature soulful vocals and intricate guitar work, crafting a song that meditates on the unseen forces that guide us. The chorus—“The sound of nothing calls to me, the sound of eternal peace”—resonates as a soothing mantra, embracing the beauty of silence and the vast unknown. Through evocative lyrics like “Now I can breathe, life runs in me, my body feels vibrations, baby, and my spirit is free”, the track channels the essence of a spiritual awakening.
“Eternal Peace is about the connection to something greater than ourselves—the timeless energy that binds us all,” says Sol. “I wanted to create a song that feels like a bridge between this world and the next, offering a sense of peace that never fades.”
His musical journey began at 14, inspired by his grandfather "Boots," a fan of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Today's episode features a new song by Pete Price, that embodies the heartfelt storytelling that has become a hallmark of Pete's work.
“This Time” is part of Pictures in Time, a deeply introspective album released in 2024. Tracks like “House of Mirrors” and “Better Angels” showcase Price’s evolution as an artist and storyteller.
Here is the inspiration behind Pete's song, "This Time":
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds" in advocating the right for a person to change in order to experience greater personal growth. Don't limit yourself because of the expectations of others. "This Time" is a song about having the right to reinvent yourself. You have no real responsibility to be consistent, although you should always try to be kind and ethical. Those who knew you as a certain kind of person have no right to expect for you to remain that way. However, they have the right to take you or leave you at any time, whether you stay the same or change.
Featuring Casey Davis on electric guitar, Allen Seals on mandolin and recorded at Triangle Road Studio, “This Time” captures Pete Price’s roots/Americana essence with rich instrumentation and reflective lyricism.

She then recounts her personal story of overcoming hopelessness during a challenging time of recovery. Her vivid recollection of finding warmth, light, and the courage to ask for help reminds us all that hope can anchor us even in the darkest moments.
Finally, Jill offers thoughtful questions to guide listeners in their own exploration of hope’s role in their lives. How has hope shaped your experiences? What happens when it fades, and how do you regain it?

In this episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, behavioral scientist and author Dr. Abbie Maroño shares insights on the transformative power of self-care and self-compassion. Drawing from her acclaimed The Journey Through Shame, Dr. Moraño explores how our inner dialogue shapes our self-concept and overall well-being.
She reminds us that the most unavoidable judgment comes from within. How we speak to ourselves, treat ourselves, and extend grace to ourselves impacts every aspect of our lives. Dr. Moraño explains how self-compassion—offering yourself the same kindness you would show a friend—can break the cycle of shame and foster a mindset of growth and empowerment.
Self-care, she emphasizes, is more than indulgent treats or fleeting moments of rest. It’s a disciplined practice of engaging in healthy habits, setting boundaries, and creating balance. Without it, burnout can derail even the most resilient individuals.
Dr. Maroño also reflects on her personal journey of navigating unhealthy work-life balances and finding renewed strength through compassion. Her story is a powerful reminder that taking care of ourselves is a form of strength, not weakness.

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace, a podcast created by The Peace Room to help you reflect, recharge, and renew. Today’s message explores the power of acknowledging and accepting our emotions.
In this episode, we delve into how unresolved anger and other emotions can conquer us if not addressed. Emotions need both recognition and acceptance, as they are powerful aspects of our being. By giving respectful attention to our feelings—whether they are fear, anger, or jealousy—we can diminish their intensity and prevent them from overwhelming us.
Ignoring emotions can cause them to grow and become more intense, much like a child demanding attention. Instead, acknowledging our emotions enriches our experiences and serves as a guidepost on our journey. How we feel reflects our security, our connection to a higher power, and our commitment to our personal growth.
Our emotions are always present, steering our behavior and reflecting our attitudes. They can indicate how close we are to our spiritual path. By recognizing our feelings, we can use them to guide us towards peace and connection.

In today's episode of "5 Minutes of Peace," Tarak Uday shares the transformative power of the long breath technique.
This practice is designed to connect you with your spirit and alleviate negative emotions by using slow, deep breaths. Tarak explains that the word "spirit" originates from the Greek word "spiritus" and the Latin word "spirare," both meaning breath, highlighting the deep connection between breath and our spiritual essence.
The long breath technique works by removing the energetic charge from negative emotions, allowing them to dissipate. Depending on the intensity of the emotion, you might need to practice for five minutes or more, but often just a few long breaths can make a significant difference.
Breathing Exercise Instructions:
Inhale slowly, taking a long, deep breath.
Exhale without holding the breath, letting it out slowly.
Repeat, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly.
Focus on stretching each breath longer and deeper with every inhale and exhale.
If your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath.
This simple yet profound exercise can help you return to a state of balance whenever you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or sad. Tarak emphasizes that the long breath is a powerful tool to center yourself and connect with your inner peace.

Take these few moments to reflect and enjoy your journey to inner peace.
Welcome to "5 Minutes of Peace," your daily moment to reflect, recharge, and renew. Today’s message, brought to you by The Peace Room, invites us to awaken something profound within ourselves.
Children awaken our own sense of self when we see them hurting, struggling, or testing their boundaries. By watching their eyes and listening to their hearts, we come to realize that children are true gifts if we accept them. Kathleen Tierney Creeley reminds us of the invaluable lessons children offer through their fresh perspectives and unfiltered honesty.
Children view the world with fresh eyes, unburdened by cynicism, and with open hearts. Their spontaneous reactions to life's events reflect their genuine selves. Observing children can help us see the unnecessary complexities we've added to our lives. Their simple honesty can guide us back to viewing the world with wonder, a byproduct of living by the principles of peace and mindfulness.
By embracing these principles, we let go of the past's baggage and learn to live fully in the present. We come to trust in a power greater than ourselves that has everything under control. Children instinctively trust those who care for them, and we too can learn to trust again by applying these steps to our lives.
Affirmation:
"I will look to this day with wonder and trust. Everything is okay. I am in the care of a power greater than myself."

Welcome to 5 Minutes of Peace, a time for you to reflect, recharge, and renew. Today’s reading is from "Practical Thinking" by Edward De Bono, exploring the multi-faceted nature of imagination. De Bono identifies four key aspects of imagination: picture vividness, number of alternatives, different perspectives, and creative imagination.
Picture Vividness: This is the ability to imagine scenes and people with rich detail. Imagine your Aunt Emma so clearly that you can see her nose twitching, or recall a fishing harbor from a holiday with every boat vividly in place.
Number of Alternatives: This involves generating multiple ways to approach a task, like cooking an egg. It’s not just about knowledge but accessing it creatively to find numerous possibilities.
Different Perspectives: Seeing things from various angles, like viewing a bottle as half full of milk, half empty, or a mix of milk and air, showcases the flexibility of thought.
Creative Imagination: This is about fantasizing and creating new experiences by combining different elements, thus crafting something entirely unique.
Imagination fuels creativity and helps avoid the trap of "unique rightness" where one believes their sole perspective is correct. It enhances thinking but isn't synonymous with creativity; it’s an essential component.

Today's guest is Coco Fleming, who shares her original poem, "Expectations" about the thoughts of teenage girls.
Expectations
By: Coco Fleming
Every day I overhear girls talking negatively about themselves. Saying things like, my hair looks so bad today, or does this top look okay? Because I think I look ugly. So I wrote this for all the girls:
Wake up, pull yourself out of your bed then put on an outfit that fits all of the trends, so you're not the odd one out.
Put on some makeup. So you can fit in and feel confident in your own skin. You can’t even recognize yourself at this point.
Go to school, just to feel like everyone is judging you at every second of the day. You are constantly getting told to cover up or show more skin. Be more confident in yourself. Your thinking to yourself will I ever be good enough?
You must get good grades. But not perfect grades because then you are called a nerd.
Eat some food. Make sure it’s not too much food or you will be called an animal. But if you eat too little you will be called skin and bones. Why am I not perfect?
You're looking around at the other girls thinking to yourself, I wish I had her eyes, I wish I had her body, I wish I had her clothes, I wish more boys liked me, I wish I was her.
Do some form of exercise even if you don’t feel like it, just so you can be comfortable in your own body. You don't even know what you're doing with your life. Will I ever be enough for this world? My brother once said “Give a compliment everyday, because you might just save someone's life.” Always remember that you are beautiful. And you are enough! They say that no one is perfect but you are your own perfect.

Enjoy Good Health by Managing Your Energy
When you’re not managing your energy properly, you’re likely to experience emotions such as anger, frustration, exhaustion and other emotions that can compromise your health.
When you know how to manage your energy and enjoy an abundance of it your emotions will be connected, passionate, peaceful and positive. The outlook you get when you have energy to be productive and enjoy life can make a world of difference in your present and future health.
There never seems to be enough time to get things done, so we exist by multi-tasking on the run. For example, you may be eating a sandwich, driving a car and talking on the telephone all at once at any given time of the day. You may have gotten done what you had on your ‘list’, but you’re probably exhausted at the end of the day.
Personal energy management techniques can help produce a more natural energy and one that’s healthier for you. When you focus on the physical ways to produce energy, it serves you better than trying to get things done using ways that leave you mentally and physically depleted.
Here are some simple ways to enjoy better health by managing your personal energy:
Get rid of energy drainers. An energy drainer might be in the form of a person or a task. Assess the people around you and distance yourself from those who leave you exhausted when you leave their presence.
Dance. Take a lesion from children -- move your body to some funky rhythms and reenergize your body and mind. Just a few minutes of dancing around the room will give you some much needed positive energy.
Learn and practice a ‘healing’ art. Energy healing sessions such as Tai Chi and Reiki are especially great for renewing the energy levels of your mind, body and spirit so that you feel better and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
Discover what makes you happy. You may not be able to do what makes you happy 24/7, but you can rejuvenate your body and mind by engaging in those activities on a regular basis. You may enjoy crafts, cooking, reading, watching or playing sports. Do what makes you happy and enjoy better health.
Nourish your spiritual side. Take some time out of every day to nourish your spirit by a number of ways. You can commune with nature by gardening or walking or even just sitting in a garden listening to the sounds of nature. Take time to meditate and search through your soul until you feel rejuvenated.
Many times we forget that keeping healthy isn’t just about diet and exercise. A positive outlook and surrounding ourselves with positive energy by managing our energy wisely can do wonders for our health.
Amanda Creasey, an accomplished educator, author, and outdoors writer, shares a poignant excerpt from her debut novel, "An Expected End."
The novel is a piece of literary speculative fiction set in a near future where individuals can learn the precise moment of their death. However, Amanda emphasizes that the narrative isn't about death but centers on life, exploring themes of time, love, acceptance, and family. The excerpt takes us to the epilogue, where Marshall, the protagonist, reflects on life's transient beauty after celebrating his daughter Eden's birthday. Through Marshall's contemplation, the narrative beautifully intertwines memories of his past, the enduring impact of Penelope, and the significance of quality over quantity in the measurement of time.
Amanda's writing captures the essence of being human, cherishing fleeting moments, and finding profound meaning in the ordinary.

On this episode, we share a meditation from David Lawson, a life coach from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
awakewarrior.com
David says, "I've been there too. I know the joys and nightmares of life's journey through hard knocks, grief, trauma, and experience. My long list of triumphs and rock bottoms are my clients’ greatest assets. If you know you have to create a new reality for yourself and how you live your life, I can help you. Trust me, you’re headed somewhere great."
This meditation, guided by David, aims to help listeners retrain their minds and break free from old patterns that no longer serve them. The process begins with deep, intentional breaths, drawing energy from feet to head, creating a gentle vibration throughout the body. Participants are encouraged to envision a serene place, invoking sensory experiences to induce calmness. David emphasizes the power of the conscious mind to reshape thought patterns and beliefs, urging listeners to recognize, cancel, clear, and delete old patterns of anxiety. The meditation progresses to seeking liberation from emotional chains, visualizing a new, empowered self, and setting intentions for change. David underscores the transformative ability of visualization, guiding participants to embody the envisioned new self and anchor it with a deep breath. The meditation concludes with a gradual return to awareness, encouraging participants to carry the positive energy into their day.

The podcast, "5 Minutes of Peace," created by ThePeaceRoom, offers a brief moment for self-reflection and renewal.
In this episode, Kelly Jean reads a passage from "Sacred Geometry, Language of the Angels" by Richard Heath. (https://a.co/d/9xzUJL1)
The book explores the concept of angels beyond religious confines, emphasizing their role in the planetary destiny of humanity. Angels, with a deep understanding of numbers and universal patterns, contributed to Earth's evolution. The human mind, emerging from the framework conditions set by angels, serves the purpose of the universe knowing itself. Heath contrasts angelic and human minds, highlighting the top-down harmony of angels and the bottom-up contingency of humans. Ancient angelic number science, transmitted through astronomy, influenced early human civilizations, leading to the development of measures and geometrical forms.
We invite listeners to explore more about ThePeaceRoom's offerings, promoting love, service, and peace on the shared path of self-discovery.

Please welcome our friend and mentor, Chellie Kammermeyer, as she shares a Reiki Sound Bowl Healing.
Chellie says, "When our bodies are in fight or flight there is a different vibration within us. If we can take a few minutes to allow ourselves to move into rest and restore, healing starts to happen immediately."
She adds, "Crystal singing bowls are a way to move into that relaxed state quickly. The high vibration of the singing bowls allows us to entrain to this higher vibration and create a healthier internal vibration and state of being. When I play the bowls I'm also sending Reiki energy to anyone who hears this recording."

Our guest today, Mike Kammermeyer, offers a beautiful Reiki drumming meditation for releasing what no longer serves us.
Cultures from around the world have used drumming in their history, for healing, meditation, and connection with the Divine. Drumming affects the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies, at the same time, and helps to bring harmony. When combining Reiki with sound, the Divine wisdom that is inherent in the Reiki energy merges with the sound waves and creates a beautifully safe and sacred environment for healing to occur.

Kelly Jean, Metta Bhavana meditation on Loving Kindness
Metta Bhavana, or loving-kindness meditation, is a practice rooted in Buddhist tradition that cultivates feelings of compassion, love, and kindness towards oneself and others. The practice involves a series of stages where practitioners mentally send well-wishes and positive intentions to different categories of individuals, gradually expanding the circle of compassion. It typically begins with sending love and well-being to oneself, then extending these feelings to a loved one, a neutral person, a difficult person, and finally, to all beings universally. Through Metta Bhavana, individuals aim to dissolve feelings of negativity, resentment, and judgment, replacing them with a sense of genuine care and goodwill, fostering emotional healing and a greater sense of interconnectedness with the world.

Fight Your Inner Critic
There is a voice inside your head that tells you when you do something wrong. It acts as a filter of sorts and is needed to help you survive. It alerts you when you are running late, and tells you to get to work and stop slacking off. But, sometimes it can be too harsh for your wellbeing.
When this happens, it’s time to fight your inner critic. You need to take it down a notch or two. You don’t want to silence that critic completely, but you do want to teach it some balance. After all, you can’t be wrong 100% of the time.
Why do you have this inner voice that can be overly critical? It is a protection mechanism to help guide you through your journey in life. Sometimes it shouts at you to let you know you are in danger. Other times, it can let you know what you should say or not say in social situations.
This inner critic has also lived a lifetime of negativity. It sees you watching the news or listens in on conversations you have with others. This constant barrage of negativity has helped it build into the cynic that it currently is.
Your inner critic also has your parents and childhood teachers on its side. After all, you spent your entire childhood listening to these authorities telling you what you are not allowed to do. The inner critic scooped up that information. And it was reinforced for years.
It’s time to temper that inner critic. It has gone on for too long with unchecked power. It won’t be easy since it has had control of you all your life. But, you can take some steps to curb its impact.
Start using positive affirmations. Do this consistently, preferably on a daily basis. But, you can get away with weekly if that's all the time you have. Be prepared for resistance from your inner critic. Your inner critic may not have been talked back to for years. It usually has the run of things so be aware of that.
Start paying attention to the messages the inner critic is giving you. It may be worth it to jot them down on a piece of paper. Evaluate those messages frequently and decide if it is giving you the right advice. You will find that often it isn’t. When you make this discovery, it’s time for you to make some changes.

5 Tips for Better, Healthier Boundaries
We all have boundaries. Maybe you don’t feel like you do, because of many times past when people have overrun you. Somewhere around the umpteenth time of being taken advantage of, of being ignored about your own needs, and treated as though your time is not valuable, you start to believe that you’ve lost whatever boundaries you had.
The good news is, you can re-create your boundaries, and make them stronger and healthier than ever before. How? Read on for a quick list of five tips to jumpstart your life and put it on track for a happier you.
Permit yourself to start over. While this step seems obvious, there are quite a few reasons for it. First, by telling yourself it’s ok to set boundaries, you’re declaring that you’re important enough even to have them. But also, in acknowledging that it’s ok to start over, you’re not getting hung up on the past. That is you, taking control. Embrace it!
Pay attention. Here’s where you start getting into the details of who you are and who you want to be. How have people taken advantage of you in the past? Where have you wished there were boundaries? What do you need to do to establish them now? Be mindful of your feelings. Look for the disappointment and anger. What has set those off? Chances are those are places where the boundaries need the most work. You’ll find that self-awareness is key to your success so don’t be afraid to dig into your emotions.
Where have you been? And where are you now? Chances are a lot of what you feel about boundaries came from your wiring as a child. If no one respected your space growing up, it’s hard to ask people to respect it now. Examine the boundaries of your childhood and compare them to the boundaries of today. What’s lacking? What needs work? It might be that some of the things you find make boundary setting particularly difficult in some situations. Don’t be afraid to ask for help either with a counselor or therapist to work through some of that old baggage.
Take care of yourself. When you’re not feeling well, it’s nearly impossible to be firm in your boundaries. Being strong and healthy gives you the energy needed to put your foot down when you need to. With that in mind, taking care of yourself not only makes sense, but it is also necessary for future success. Remember the basics: Eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep every night.
Speak up. There’s going to be pushback when you set boundaries. Having healthy boundaries means that you put the work in to maintain them. That means saying ‘no’ when you need to. By being assertive you not only protect those boundaries, but you also tell the world that you have something to say. Need help? Enlist a support team who can cheer you on when you’re flagging – and who aren’t afraid to point out when you’re starting to slip. Sometimes we all need some tough love, especially when we’re pushing for better, healthier boundaries.
By following these steps, you’re not only drawing a line in the sand; you’re taking control of your life. Healthy boundaries are meant to protect you so that you have room to grow and become the person you always knew you could be. But first, you have to begin. So, why are you waiting? Aren’t you ready for that new improved you?

Here's the text of her meditation:
I'd like to walk you through a little meditation on learning how to trust your intuition. Have you ever wanted to hone your intuition and just didn't know where to start? In this exercise, you will explore how to better refine your intuition and learn to trust yourself more fully with a simple tool.
So if you are ready to become more confident in your intuition, your decisions, and ability to trust yourself, let's get started. Let's start by relaxing the tongue from the roof of our mouth. Roll out your shoulders a couple of times forward and a couple of times backward. Take a big, deep breath through your nose, expanding your lungs all the way to the base of your ribs, fill your chest, expand fully.
Now slowly release, expelling all the air from your lungs. Return to your regular breathing pattern. Now I want you to think of a statement that is true. This could be, my birthday is, and fill in the blank. My home address is, and then fill in the blank. I want you to say this statement out loud, but I want you to pay attention to how that statement fills in your body.
Where do you feel it? Is it high in your heart? Is it low in your gut? Does it feel tight? Does it feel loose? Does it feel peaceful or exciting? Now say the true statement again. Do you feel it? That is the feeling of truth or confirmation. Now we are going to do the opposite. Think of a [00:02:00] false statement. You can use the same statement as before, just with inaccurate information.
Now speak your full statement. Pause. Repeat it again, paying attention to how that feels. Does it feel different than your true statement? Does it feel lower or higher or in a different place in your body? That feeling is your feeling of inaccuracy or unalignment. Now, you can do this exercise as many times as you need to in order to solidify the feeling.
You can use the exercise to calibrate yourself, so to speak, should you need to prior to asking your inner self for guidance. I suggest starting with minor things that have less impact on your life and moving towards building or rebuilding that [00:03:00] trust in your intuition that has been right there inside to you all along.

5 Strategies for Embracing Yours and Others’ Imperfections with More Ease
In this hyper-competitive modern world, it’s all too easy to fall into bad habits of judging yourself and others too harshly. Before you know it, you permanently set your inner monologue to negativity. You feel dissatisfied and grumpy with everyone and everything. And that’s no way to live your best life!
Here are some top strategies to help you learn to accept imperfection in yourself and other people and leave that negative mindset behind.
If a negative viewpoint has become your default setting, you probably don’t even realize when you’re doing it. Take a minute to tune into your self-talk for a moment. Pay attention to the words you’re using and course-correct for more positive language.
Consciously change your inner monologue to focus on positives. Instead of focusing on differences and seeing them as flaws, choose to see what is good in the other person. If your go-to is to criticize their weight or hair, or the way they speak, reset your view of them by finding something to admire.
It’s easy to fall into the habit of seeing things as right or wrong. Sure, someone else’s choice may not be your choice, maybe you don’t like broccoli or would want to work for a multinational or vacation in Antarctica. But it doesn’t mean those other choices are wrong; they’re just different.
Seeing things in black and white is so limiting. Open up a little and retune your world view, so you see all the colors as equally valid.
Some people keep a world history of wrongs and imperfections stretching way back. They act almost like perfection police, waiting to add to their list of transgressions. Or they worry about future mistakes and how to avoid them. Don’t be that person! You can choose to stay focused on the here and now and enjoy what’s happening in your life.
If you find yourself slipping back into your past habits of judging other people, turn it around and ask yourself - how would it feel if someone was judging you? Remember that old saying about people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones? That’s good to remember when you feel tempted to dismiss someone’s appearance or actions. Cut people some slack and they are more likely to go easy on you.
You can choose to step out of the competition race at any time. Try it and improve your life!

Finding Your Purpose: Questions to Ask Yourself
Do you know how to find your purpose? If you posed that question to several people, the majority would likely answer no. It’s because there is a world of possibilities. People are afraid to try something new out of fear of the unknown. They often don’t know how to go about looking for what they should be doing.
You need first to ask if what you are doing now is satisfying. Put aside the bills and your paycheck for a moment. Do you get a charge out of getting up every morning to go to work? How do you feel on Sunday evenings, assuming you start up work on Mondays? Do you dread having to get up in the morning on Monday, or does it excite you?
Another problem is you may feel stuck doing something in which you don’t believe. Suppose you work for a company that isn’t doing right by the community. It may be legal, but you don’t feel it’s ethical. It pays well, and that is why you stick with it. You even like many of the people who work there. However, the company sells something that makes your stomach turn. You need to ask yourself if you can continue to work in an environment which doesn't fit well with you.
You will also need to ask yourself what will it take to make changes to get out of your current situation and into something you enjoy. It may require going back to school or at least, training online. Luckily, there are several options available, and many of them are cheap or free.
If you find that the path is well laid out, ask yourself are you’re willing to put in the time and make an effort? If not, you haven’t truly found your purpose. You either need to continue what you are doing or find another path. Keep doing this until you are willing to put forth the effort.
You should explore your current situation and determine if you can change up your routine. For instance, ask your company if there are other opportunities within the organization that you can explore. If there are, they may ask you to serve two roles (your old position and your new one) while transitioning. Working like this could require putting in overtime, etc. But, it gives you some options to explore your purpose.

6 Must-Dos to Create Affirmations to Change in Your Life
Affirmations are powerful statements you can use to make positive changes in your life. They use the power of your subconscious mind to create change and help you reach your goals and dreams. Below are the aspects you need to know to generate the most effective affirmations to change your life.
1. Choose Positivity
You may not realize you’re already using affirmations all the time. The trouble is, most people tend to repeat negative statements like “I can’t do it,” “I’ll never get ahead” or “life is hard.” Have a look at your own self-talk and see how often you’re using negative affirmations that keep you stuck in self-doubt and negativity.
You can choose to turn around your self-talk and build positive affirmations so that all your thoughts are supporting your life goals.
2. Keep Affirmations Short
You can create powerful positive affirmations by making sure the language you use is focused and brief. A simple, straightforward statement will be more effective than a long one.
3. Choose Your Words Carefully
Don’t use emotive language or words that have negative connotations. Focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. A positive weight loss affirmation, for example, is “I am slender,” not “I am not fat.” Even saying, “I am losing weight” is focusing on the negative.
4. Stick to the Present Tense
Use “I am“ statements to focus your mind on what you want. Saying “I will” or “I want” pushes your goal out into the indefinite future and doesn’t inspire you to reach your goal now.
5. Use Visual Language that Feels Good
Think of how you want to feel when you reach your goal. Will you feel happy, grateful, relaxed? Choose words that create a powerful, positive image like “money is pouring into my life,” or “I feel strong and full of energy.” Imagine the numbers going up in your bank account, see yourself running that marathon or buying new clothes that fit perfectly.
6. Build a positive affirmation habit
Positive affirmations are more powerful when they are repeated until they become part of your mindset. Make a commitment to yourself that you will repeat your affirmations out loud, at least three times a day. Schedule affirmation time in your schedule or set a reminder on your smartphone.
Feel relaxed and happy as you repeat your affirmations. Feel what it will be like when you achieve your goals.
When you focus your attention on what you want to be true in your life, you are much more likely to achieve it. Align your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your affirmations, so all your energy is flowing to achieving your goals.
Tips for Resolving Conflicts in Your Relationships
No matter how much you like the other person, at some point, conflict is likely to happen. While most conflicts are fairly small (like trying to decide where to go out for dinner), left untended a conflict can fester and grow. That’s why it’s so important to resolve conflicts in your relationships before they have a chance to take on a life of their own.
How do you go about doing that?
1. Start by listening. But don’t just listen to the spoken words, but the feelings behind them. It’s the emotions that drive the conversation after all! By listening actively, meaning pausing to ask questions, clarify, and to reiterate what you think the other person is saying, you tell the other person that what they have to say matters. But more importantly, you’re letting them know that they’re being heard.
2. Look for the resolution over being right. Giving up the notion that you have to ‘win’ is where you start seeing the solutions. Conflict is not a competition.
3. Stay in the moment. Instead of focusing on what happened that brought you into this conflict, pay attention to what’s going on right now. Now isn’t the time for blame. Rather look for solutions.
4. Decide what’s important right now. That is called ‘picking your battles’ and is important in determining whether a thing is worth fighting over. Ask yourself if this is just an issue over a minor annoyance that will be easily forgotten, or if you have something deeper going on that maybe needs to be addressed.
5. Know how and when to disengage. That means being able to do what it takes to walk away. It might be forgiveness is in order. It might be that you’re just going to need to agree to disagree. Worst case scenario? It might be time just to let the matter go entirely. Whatever the case, there’s nothing to be gained by staying in the conflict.
Resolving conflicts isn’t a hard skill to learn. By following these tips, you will discover how better to deal with conflict in every kind of relationship – whether business or personal. So take heart – a misunderstanding doesn’t have to mean the end of the world. Instead look at your conflict as a step toward better understanding that will, in turn, lead to better relationships in the long run.

Here is a transcript of her Be Here Now meditation:
I have found that meditation can be a very useful tool in assisting people to move into a space of calm and peace.
This is one of the meditations that I use in my practice to help soften the edges and helps to create a sense of ease and comfort, even in a very challenging time in your life.
This meditation is called “Be here now” and will be a waking meditation where we will practice keeping our eyes open and stay alert but allowing our body and mind to relax just enough so we can find a sense of peace right here right now, at this moment. The thought of being here now remind us that all is well right at this moment.
I’d like to invite you to just land right where you are…
Notice the air flowing in and out of your nostrils or mouth and just notice that your breath is beginning to slow. We are grateful for that breath of life.
Invoke all of the senses around you, perhaps become the observer of your environment.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you taste?
What do you feel?
If you notice any areas of tension in your body, just allow your body to soften and relax, you may need to adjust a bit.
Imagine that it is a beautiful sunny day, and you are outside. It could be anywhere that feels right to you: by the ocean or in the mountains or in your back yard where the flowers and grass are growing with the help of the sunshine.
Be here now-take a seat wherever it feels comfortable to you and begin to feel the sunshine down on you. The temperature is perfect outside and you begin to feel relaxed already. All is well and perfect at this moment.
Begin to imagine that the beautiful sun is shining down just for you, allowing a space for deep healing and peace. With each breath you are feeling more and more relaxed and centered. Imagine as if the sun is pouring its contents in through the crown of your head, and it feels like warm honey filling very cell in your body giving you exactly what you need at this moment.
Beginning at the top of your head, imagine the sun now pouring in you down the back of your head,
Your brows
Your cheeks
Your chin,
Your neck
Your shoulders, feeling your shoulders relax
Warm sunlight energy feels so good
Down your arms down to your fingers
Your strong back, all the weight you have been carrying, just let it go for now,
Your chest feeling more relaxed,
Your belly begins to soften
Your hips, relaxed
Your legs
Your thighs
Your calves
Your feet and toes
Allow yourself to feel what it is like to fully relax and to be...
Answers to Common Questions about AffirmationsOver the past few years, people have become more and more aware of the power of positive affirmations to change their mindset and motivate them to achieve their goals. But if you’ve never tried using affirmations before, you may have some questions. Here are some of the most common questions people ask.
How Often Should You Use Affirmations?
While there are no hard and fast rules, positive affirmations work best when they are repeated regularly and consistently. This means you use the same wording and repeat your affirmations at approximately the same times each day. Experts recommend saying your affirmations out loud (in front of a mirror if you can) three to five times a day. If you want to super-charge your positive affirmations, add writing them down each day also.
Can Affirmations Help Alleviate Anxiety and Depression?
Therapists agree that using positive affirmations can be a powerful technique you can use as part of your treatment plan if you suffer from depression and anxiety.
Affirmations are not a cure in themselves but can help boost your mood and confidence and can be an important part of any cognitive behavior therapy program.
Can Affirmations Help You Sleep Better?
One of the red flag symptoms of depression and anxiety is sleep disturbance. As well as helping your resolve your anxiety, affirmations can be included in a regular meditation practice that can help you improve your sleep patterns. There are apps available for your smartphone or tablet that include affirmation-based meditations specifically to help you sleep better.
Can Affirmations Boost your Self-esteem?
Positive affirmations can help you build self-confidence and self-esteem, as long as the affirmations you choose resonate with your own personal value system.
Make sure you choose affirmations that ring true for you. If your reaction is skeptical, or if you don’t really believe what you’re saying, the affirmations are less likely to work. If you want to boost your self-esteem, make sure your positive affirmations focus on your strengths, and what you really want to see in your life.
Aren’t Affirmations Just Feel-Good Mantras?
Some critics say that affirmations are just glib feel-good mantras. And sure, some of the affirmations you might see can sound a little cheesy. But cheesy doesn’t mean wrong, it only reflects society’s awkwardness with being emotionally honest. And the evidence shows that developing your own personal affirmations can have a profound effect on your mindset, mood, and effectiveness in creating the life you want.
4 Practical Tips for Figuring Out Your Life’s PurposeTake a moment to check in on your life satisfaction. You might have a great career, a successful business, and a loving, supportive network of family and friends. But if you don’t know your life purpose, you’ll still feel that there’s something not quite right. Living an authentic, purposeful life has been shown to make you happier and healthier. Scientists have even found it can help you live longer!
If contentment and fulfillment are eluding you, try some practical ways to find your life’s purpose.
1. Home in On Your Passions
If you have trouble thinking of your passions, have a look at what you post on social media. What fires you up? What photos and issues do you post and comment on? What sort of articles do you email to friends? What do you discuss around the dinner table?
Being more aware of what really fires your interest will help you to realize what your life purpose might be.
2. What Injustices Fire You Up?
In a similar vein, what makes your blood boil when you see it on the news or read about it? Maybe it’s inequality, child poverty, or cruelty to animals. Think about the issues that bother you. Think of how you could use these emotions to make a change in the world. Volunteer at a local no-profit, or organize a petition or letter-writing campaign. Set up an online fundraiser. Turn your passion to fight injustice into action for good.
3. Volunteer to Find Your Purpose
Studies have shown that helping others is one of the most powerful ways to increase your own happiness. It is also an excellent way to find meaning and purpose in your life. Think of what you can do to help your local sports club, aged care home, or non-profit. When you donate your time, money, and skills to help others, you will not just be giving them a helping hand; you will be helping yourself as well.
4. Ask for Feedback
If you’re still struggling to find a purpose that resonates with you, ask for feedback. Think about when people come to you to ask for help. What do people compliment you on?
Chat with friends and family about their interests and ask them what comes to mind when they think of you. You’re probably already living your life purpose and passion, but you just don’t realize it!

Here is a transcript of her meditation:
This is Marcy Humphrey, and today I would like to share with you an energy cleanse meditation. Now this is awakening meditation, so feel free to keep your eyes open. Find a comfortable position to stand, sit, or lay down. If it is possible, set up in a way where you can temporarily rid yourself of any distractions to protect your mental, physical, and emotional energy throughout the day.
You must first become aware of how your energy is currently feeling in your body. Draw attention to your thoughts. As you start to notice what is on your mind, are your thoughts calm and peaceful or negative and critical? You could even have the same thought that is just repeating over and over in your head.
Notice what is happening with your thoughts right now,
so draw attention to your breath as you start to settle into your physical body. Is your breath fast and shallow? Or slow and relaxed. You may even notice that you may be holding your breath. Focus on what is happening with your breath right now. Draw attention to your emotions as you scan your body, as your body is where emotions are experienced and may often even get stuck.
Is there a place in your body where you feel these emotions? Maybe it feels like a tightness in your throat or your jaw, a constriction in your heart, a relaxed smile on your face, or maybe a feeling in your stomach. Notice where in your body you are experiencing emotions right now.
Now as you release any and all energy that you're experiencing that is not aligned with love and your highest self -- release this energy within the next three breaths. With a deep inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale. And exhale.
So bring your awareness to the top of your head, your crown chakra. Visualize a radiant rose quartz light shining down from the sky and coming through the crown of your head. Visualize this light filling your body with loving, peaceful energy into every single cell of your body.
Allow this flight to extend beyond your physical body. Let it surround you as it creates a protective shield. Visualize this protective shield expanding until it is several feet beyond your physical body. This shield is not to keep others out as this shield is permeable. The shield is for you to decide what energy you wish to let in and what boundaries you wish to set with others for your highest self.
As this meditation comes to an end, anchor this energetic shield to your physical body and keep it with you as you move throughout your day. Notice when you encounter energy that moves into your space. Pay attention to the thought. Feelings and sensations that you experience. Give yourself permission to allow only love in as you yourself are...
7 Tips to Become a More Successful NegotiatorWho’s looking out for you?
In a world where getting what you want is entirely up to you, being a skilled negotiator is crucial to your success, whether you’re angling for a raise or trying to get an outstanding deal on a used car. Sadly, negotiation isn’t one of those skills we’re taught as children. The good news is, it’s never too late to learn how to be a more successful negotiator. You can start with these simple tips:
Do Your Research
Before you do anything else, you need to know the facts about what you’re negotiating for. If you think your job is worth a raise, first look up what the salary generally is for your position. If you’re looking at a used car, find out what other cars of that make and model typically go for. A little knowledge goes a long way.
Listen
A negotiation takes two people, both of whom generally want something. Start paying attention early on to what the other person is saying. Getting a feel for where they’re coming from will be to your advantage.
Speak Up
Never be afraid to ask for what you want. The trick is to remember there’s a fine line between being assertive and aggressive. Be careful about how strong you’re coming on.
Take Your Time
The temptation is to close the deal quickly and to take what you can get. Here’s where you need to pull back a little. It’s okay to take time to think about the offer. You also will want to go over the terms and conditions carefully before making a final decision.
Know When to Step Back
Remember, you can always walk out of the negotiation. Stick to your guns, especially when you know you’re in the right. When you’re willing to leave the table if you’re terms aren’t met, it shows you mean business.
No Weakness
The minute you start thinking of the other person as a bigger and stronger opponent, you’ve already lost. This is not the place to show weakness. Instead of worrying about your own shortcomings, concentrate on theirs. How can you use that information?
Remember the Give and Take
Don’t give up points unless you’re getting something in return. When you concede too much, you’re building up your opponent and setting a poor precedent for future negotiation.
Remember the trick is not to let things get personal. At the end of the day, if you knew what you wanted and feel like you looked out for yourself, then you’ve come out a winner.
The Science Behind the Power of AffirmationsLots of people are using positive affirmations in their daily life to help them reach their goals. But affirmations are more than motivational slogans. There is plenty of scientific evidence to show how and why affirmations work on your subconscious mind. There are even health benefits to using affirmations!
The research that supports the use of affirmations tends to fall into two camps: psychological theory and neuroscience.
Affirmations and Your Identity - Self-affirmation Theory
Most forms of psychological therapy or counseling are based on the idea that you can improve your mental health by changing your view of yourself. You can change the script about who you are and bolster your self-esteem by acknowledging and focusing on your positive aspects to become more confident about your capabilities.
Self-affirmation theory asserts that your self-identity is flexible and that you can change your view of yourself as a person. This means you can choose to see yourself as strong, smart, and capable of doing whatever you want. And this is where affirmations that align with your personal values can be particularly powerful.
Affirmations and Your Brain
There is increasing research that shows the physical impact of affirmations on the structure of your brain. When you practice positive affirmations, you are introducing new concepts to your brain and opening up new neural pathways. This is what helps to change your mindset from negative self-doubt to positive confidence. Scientists have mapped the changes that occur in the brain when we choose to move to a more optimistic frame of mind, building, and reinforcing those neural pathways.
When you think about your own personal values, you are activating the part of your prefrontal cortex that is involved in self-related processing of information and positive valuation. Repeating your affirmations regularly throughout your day keeps activating this part of your brain, reinforcing positive self-identity.
Affirmations and Your Health
Science has also proved some surprising physical health benefits of practicing positive affirmations.
Daily practice of affirmations has a measurable impact on your resilience and how well you deal with stress. As well as having a positive effect on depression and anxiety, regular and consistent use of affirmations can help lower your levels of cortisol and adrenaline, both harmful stress hormones. As your stress response declines, your heart rate and blood pressure will decrease, reducing your risk of stroke and heart attack. People who use affirmations are also more likely to lead healthier lifestyles, exercise more, and eat a healthy diet.
Science shows us that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by using positive affirmations daily.

Imagine it's a beautiful, warm, sunny day.
Imagine you are walking through a beautiful emerald-green forest. As you breathe into yourself, imagine you are breathing in the life essence of the forest. And with every step you take, imagine the energies of the earth are flowing up through the bottoms of your feet.
As you walk along, allow yourself to experience the trees, plants, flowers, and. And to merge with the life, harmony, and peace of the forest.
As you walk, notice the up ahead. It is getting lighter and you realize you are coming to the edge of the forest as you leave the forest before you is a beautiful river.
It is the river of life. There are beautiful flowers along the riverbank, and there is a path following the river. Follow the path along the river event.
Eventually, you come to a bend in the. There is a light breeze causing the surface of the river to have small ripples. The sun is shining off the rippled surface of the water, creating a glittering shimmering light.
You realize this is a spiritual light coming from the highest heaven. You allow the light to enter your soul. Allow the light to guide you ...
Whenever you are guided to do so -- and at the pace that feels right for you -- take a few breaths.
Bring your awareness to your eyes and come back.
4 Steps to Controlling Your Anger Triggers
Everyone has their own little quirks. Things that make them irritated, frustrated, or downright angry. You could probably list your own triggers right now—little stuff like clutter or having to wait around. Maybe you can’t stand a particular word or phrase, or you find it impossible to work if there’s noise. The thing about triggers is that they’re often small things that tip you over the edge, and before you know it, you’ve lost your temper over something that in the scheme of things, doesn’t really matter.
Here are four steps you can take to manage your anger triggers better.
The first thing is to realize that you are totally in control of how you react. Work out what your triggers are, and you can take your power back. You can anticipate and plan for situations where you know you’re likely to blow your top.
Be conscious of how your anger manifests in your body. Likely your heart rate will go up, or your hands and jaw will clench. You might feel breathless or even get a stomach ache. Tune into what your body is telling you, and you’ll learn to be able to stop the process of reacting. And remember the feelings themselves aren’t ‘bad’ but how you choose to respond to those feelings can be harmful, even destructive.
Instead of sweeping the papers off your desk onto the floor, or yelling, take a deep breath or go for a walk. Feeling triggered is often a result of low blood sugar, fatigue, or dehydration. Taking care of your physical needs can help you manage your emotional needs as well and make you more resilient to stresses and triggers.
Once you can interrupt the trigger response, you can start to work out what it was that set it off in the first place. Did you feel disrespected? Unheard? Were you mistreated or misunderstood? If someone pushed in front of you in the coffee line, what did that signal to you? That your needs aren’t important?
What about if someone talks over you or interrupts in a meeting? As well as being rude, you could feel sidelined, humiliated even.
Whatever your triggers might be, it’s totally up to you how you react. You can anticipate how you might feel and what you might do or say in response. Take a deep breath, detach from the situation, and focus on how you want to feel. You can choose to stay calm in triggering situations – it’s up to you.
3 Irrational Reasons Why We Don’t Negotiate
Why is it so hard to ask for what we want?
We see other people do it all the time. Someone else gets a better deal on a car or really nails that raise. Life looks good for everyone else, while we’re the ones who seem to be going nowhere fast.
Why is this? Is everyone else just better at negotiating?
The reality is, if you’re not getting what you want, you’re probably not asking. In fact, about 2/3 of the population will not negotiate in a given situation, though it’s not for the reason you think. It isn’t opportunity holding you back, it’s fear. But can we truly be blamed? Fear can be a powerful motivator.
Let’s look at some of the irrational reasons why we don’t negotiate.
“I might be rejected.”
No one likes to hear “no.” In fact, it’s such a strong dislike, people will go way out of their way to avoid this kind of response. It’s why people break out in a cold sweat when they think about proposing to their special someone or would rather do just about anything to avoid asking for a favor. In the world of negotiation, this can be especially daunting because a ‘no’ here means you don’t get what you’re angling for. How do you get past this? Tell yourself it’s okay to hear ‘no.’ You won’t get what you want if you don’t ask, so you’ve got nothing to lose.
“What will they think of me?”
Afraid you’re going to look bad if you ask? Our image is everything. Not wanting to look miserly or too much like you’re taking unfair advantage are reasonable worries. On the other hand, we tend to be our own harshest critics. Will the other person really look at you differently for asking? A salesman isn’t going to think twice about your asking, and your boss may respect you more for having the guts to ask. In the end, the more important question is, what will you think of you if you don’t ask?
“What if I screw this up?”
Nothing makes us kick ourselves more than the idea of losing an opportunity. On the other hand, if you don’t ask, you might be missing out on an even better opportunity.
While these fears are irrational, there is some truth to the idea you need to think before you speak. Paying attention to who you’re dealing with should give you a feel for when to throw caution to the wind. In the end, even a missed opportunity isn’t the end of the world. There are always new things around the corner. Don’t let fear rule your life. You’re really braver than you think.

Give Your Affirmations a Makeover to Turn Them into Transformative StatementsAffirmations can have a profound effect on your mindset and really help you to focus on achieving your dreams. But did you know that there are ways to make your affirmations even more powerful and transformative? Here are some expert tips to help you take your affirmations to the next level.
Accentuate the positive
It’s easy to focus on what you don’t want (e.g., “I don’t want to be alone,” “I don’t want to be fat”). Even saying you want to be debt-free is focusing your attention on the debt, not on having more money. Including aspects of what you don’t want in affirmations keeps your energy and confidence levels low. Boost your positive energy with positive words.
Include positive “I am” statements that focus on your strengths, talents, and potential. Start each affirmation with “I am” or “I can” to reinforce your own capacity to reach your goals. Here are some examples of positive affirmations:
· I am passionate about my work.
· I can be financially free.
· I can stop smoking.
· I am smart and strategic in my business.
· I can achieve whatever I set out to do.
Include one little word
You can lift the energy and intensity of your affirmations by making sure you include one simple word – easily.
· I am easily earning all the money I need.
· I can easily stop smoking.
· I am easily running ten miles.
· I am easily losing weight.
Including the word easily in your affirmations not only makes them more powerful, but you’re telling your subconscious mind that they are achievable, in a calm, matter of fact way.
Make affirmations part of your routine.
Setting up an affirmations habit sends a signal to your subconscious mind that they are essential. Set aside regular times to say your affirmations out loud to yourself, preferably in front of a mirror to reinforce your commitment to yourself.
Repeat your affirmations three to five times a day at scheduled times, so you don’t forget. Make them a priority habit! The more you practice, the more your subconscious mind will take them on board, and your self-doubt will start to recede.
Back up your affirmations with actions
Even the most positive affirmation will have little effect if you don’t do anything! Make sure your actions align with your affirmations. Think of what you can do every day to live according to your affirmations. Every success, small or large, will reinforce the power of your stated commitments and take you another step closer to achieving your dreams.
4 Steps to an Abundant MindsetFor the last couple of decades, there has been an increasing realization of the role your mental attitude can have in shaping your fortunes. If you believe that being wealthy or successful or even happy is only for the lucky few, you might just be sabotaging your own success.
If you really want to develop an abundant mindset and set a course for a happier life, here are four things you can do right now.
1. Cultivate a mindful approach to life
The first thing you should do to reset your mindset from scarcity to abundance is to check your thought patterns. How does your inner monologue run? Is it dominated by doubt, fear, and fear of never having enough? Or are your thoughts, positively and hopefully, expecting everything to turn out well? Simply noticing your thoughts and switching them up will start to rewrite your own personal abundance narrative.
Keep a note of your thought patterns, and what triggers negative and positive reactions. Observe your body language and how those thoughts make you feel.
2. Learn to Practice Gratitude
Switching from a grousing, victim-based mindset to one of gratitude is probably one of the most powerful things you can do to step into an abundant life. You can choose to see what you have in your life. Look for the bad things, and you’ll find them, no matter how rich you are. Look for the good things and you will always feel blessed.
Write down all the good things in your life right now. Everything from being able to put food on the table, to the unquestioning love of your pet. If you’re having trouble, start by being grateful for a new day and for your capacity to change.
3. Be Open to Possibilities
An abundant mindset expects and is on the alert for opportunities. It’s easy to get focused on the here and now but make it part of your day to let your attention expand. Find a quiet spot and let your mind wander. You’ll be surprised at how many ideas and possibilities you’ll notice.
4. Share Your Gifts
Living in an abundant mindset means that you feel safe in sharing your skills and passions. Scarcity tends to breed meanness, and the anxiety that there isn’t enough to go around.
Conversely, if you’re confident that the Universe will keep giving, you can be generous in sharing your skills, time, and attention.
Whether you’re growing a business or volunteering, sharing what you have generates a momentum of abundance.

Today we are going to do some wakeful affirmations focusing on Being in the Moment of Gratitude.
It is important to keep in mind that this is a wakeful meditation. You can practice these while driving or moving around during your daily activities, however, you can sit with your eyes closed if you wish
Repeat these affirmations in your head or aloud while taking the time in between to imagine what each affirmation feels like.
Before we begin lets’ start with a few centering breaths on your own.
Feel how wonderful it is to fill your lungs with fresh new air.
You can even say to yourself
“I am starting fresh.”
“I am feeling thankful for each breath in and each breath out”
I am thankful I made it to this moment right now
I feel grateful for this moment right now, exactly as it is
I am grateful for the breath that flows through my lungs
I feel the pleasure in this moment I am taking for myself.
I feel at ease with how I feel no matter what emotion I am feeling. I feel at ease as I breath in gratitude and breath out any and all thoughts that do not serve my highest good.
I exhale any worries I have and inhale gratitude
I take a deep breath in as I realign in gratitude.
My heart is strong. My mind is healthy. I am radiating a gratitude glow.
The universe is providing me with all that I need in this very moment and every moment.
Feel grateful in this moment I am centering and grounding myself.
I am grateful for all my many blessings. I see all the cells in my body align with gratitude.

Using positive affirmations every day is a powerful way of switching up your mindset and set you on the path to success. More and more people, from sports stars to entrepreneurs, are using affirmations to change their mindsets to concentrate on achieving their goals and creating the life they really want. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to create your own, powerful, positive affirmations focused on what you want.
1. Take Control with “I Am” Statements
Affirmations are much more powerful if they start with the words “I am.” Those two little words immediately make whatever follows personalized and immediate. Straightaway, the affirmation is not generic but yours focused on what you want to be or have right now.
2. Keep it in the Present
Notice the words “I am” are not “I want” or “I will.” A powerful affirmation puts you right in the middle of what you want to achieve right now. Not something to work towards or wish might happen but is happening now.
3. Keep it Positive
Powerful affirmations make you feel good. They are positive. Keep the focus on want you want, not what you don’t want.
4. Keep it Brief
You’re not writing an essay or even a wish list. Keep your affirmation short and focused, so it’s easy to remember.
5. Keep it Specific
A powerful affirmation is focused on precisely what you want. If it’s a house in a particular street or a trip to a small Tuscan village, or a specific weight goal, put the detail in your affirmation. Make it as real as you can.
6. Include an Action
Powerful affirmations have energy—they have an active, present tense verb in them. Think of what you’re doing in your desired life. Are you enjoying your new home? Relaxing on that Hawaiian beach? Driving your new car?
7. Include a Positive Emotion
If your affirmation is going to make you feel good, you have to evoke the positive emotion you want to feel. How will you feel when you achieve your goal? Happy? Grateful? Proud of yourself?
8. Stay Attentive to Yourself
The most potent affirmation are the ones you make for yourself. That’s why generic affirmations have a limited effect. They might feel good at the moment but won’t go to the heart of what you want for yourself.
9. Create an Affirmation Habit
Like any new behavior, affirmations are most powerful when they are repeated regularly and consistently. Set up a positive habit by writing down your affirmations and committing to repeating them to yourself at least three times a day. Morning, midday, and bedtime might be convenient times for you.
Include positive affirmations are part of your regular routine and manifest the life of your dreams.
Welcome to Five Minutes of Peace, a time for you to reflect, recharge, and renew. Five minutes to awaken something within yourself. Created by the Peace room.love
Today's reading is from "The Power of Eight, Harnessing the miraculous energies of a small group to heal Others, Your Life and the World," by Lynn McTaggart.
Chapter 10, Hugging Strangers,
Sylvia Frasca, an Italian-born translator who lives in Rowan, France always had far too much on her plate, but her work schedule the week before the peace intention experiment started had been so demanding that she had been working all day and through the night.
On Monday, the second day of the Peace Experiment, still exhausted from her previous week's grueling schedule. She participated in the day's group intention and suddenly felt lighter and physically much better. This feeling increased dramatically as the week went on, and she felt a special bond growing between the other participants of the experiment and the Sri Lankans.
On Tuesday, her mood became buoyant and she felt her constant worry about work leave her.
By Wednesday, she realized her priorities had completely changed. That evening, she made a pact with herself. Never again would she allow herself to be working night and day as she had done the previous week, her relationship with her partner was changing too.
Although she practiced Reiki healing, her partner, an atheist who had always prided himself on his logical mind, refused to allow her to do reiki on him for more than a few minutes.
On Thursday. For the first time, he gave himself over to an entire hour-long session. They connected in a way they'd never had before. The following day, they had the deepest discussion they'd ever had about Reiki spirituality and Sylvie's father's spontaneous healing from Chronic Citis. For the first time, their discussion was enforced and he was sharing the conversation rather than trying to change the subject.
On the final day of the experiment, knowing that she would be traveling back to Italy from France during the time of the experiment, Sylvie planned to send her intention from the car, but asked her partner to light a candle for her and to join with the peace ceremony himself.
Shortly after the 10-minute intention, her partner called Sylvie to say that something really unusual had happened. As he was looking at the picture of the waterfall on the Peace Intention Experiment website, he felt pulled into it by a strong, warm, comfortable feeling, and he came away from it overwhelmed by positive feelings.
Ever since he badgered her for more information about the experiment, trying to figure out what exactly had happened to him. It was already clear to me that the group intention experience caused some sort of major change in individual consciousness, but an even more complex alchemical process appeared to be going on here.
Something about praying in a group caused deep, possibly permanent psychological transformation in many participants and improvements in their daily lives. The experience appeared to carry on for a majority of my participants, long after the experiment was over as though they had been touched by something immensely profound. In fact, many participants were shocked by this borrowed benefit, as one attendee put it.
I wasn't expecting anything personally from this and was blissfully surprised, said Joey from Y Kat's Organ, said Joey from Y Kat's organ about his improved relationships. This ecstatic state seemed to be so powerful that it opened the possibility of individual miracles, healed relationships, major life transformations, and healed lives. What are Positive Affirmations?
You’ve probably seen positive affirmations across social media, posters, and cards. They’re all over Facebook and Instagram, and they can seem a little cheesy sometimes. But did you know that positive affirmations can actually be powerful tools for change?
What are Affirmations? And How do They Work?
Simply put, affirmations are anything you say or think. They make up a large part of the mind-talk that everyone has running in their heads all the time. We all use affirmations, though we don’t do it consciously. This allows our default, negative thoughts to run our lives.
Think about the messages that are part of your regular self-talk. Do you have kind, positive, encouraging self-talk, or does your Inner Critic dominate with harsh words of criticism? Many of your messages will have been seeded during your childhood. Were you encouraged and supported to give it your best shot, or were you told you were lazy, or no good? Those messages are still affecting your current mindset.
Whether you have a positive or a negative script running through your mind, those thoughts and beliefs shape your reality. Negative thoughts feed self-doubt and discourage you from trying to reach your full potential. If you believe you’re no good at giving presentations, you’re not going to feel confident enough to give it your all.
Change up Your Self-Talk
The good news is that you can change your self-talk by choosing to use positive affirmations to rewire your brain to have a positive mindset.
The process is pretty straightforward if you stick to some basic rules:
Always use the present tense. Your brain reacts in the moment, so make that moment as positive as you can.
Keep it positive and simple. Saying short, positive phrases like ‘I am calm’ is much more effective than telling yourself, “I mustn’t get upset.’
Use repetition. If you repeat your affirmations regularly and consistently, you will strengthen those neural pathways in the brain. Your habitual patterns of thought and belief will become more positive. Try to repeat your chosen affirmations three times a day for at least five minutes.
Choose to Change your Life
You have the power to choose your life experience. Whatever you tell yourself affirms that you want to have more of it in your life. So if you’re angry or resentful, you’re setting yourself up for more of that in your life. If you’re confident and hopeful, if you expect things to go well, then that’s precisely what will happen.
You can choose to feel good and positive about your life. Using conscious affirmations is a great way to start making those positive changes today.

6 Tips Psychologists Give to Worry Less So You Can Enjoy Life MoreWorry is a common part of many people’s lives. It consumes us when we are awake when we sleep and seeps into aspects of our lives that we didn’t know it could affect. However, there are ways to lessen the amount of worrying you do as well as the impact it has on your life.
1. Reframe Your Worry
When worrying about something, think about what role your worry is playing. Will worrying make it go away, make it disappear, or make it better? Most likely, the answer is no in each case. Working through these steps will allow you to reframe your worrying so you can see it for what it is—unhelpful.
2. Set a Time Limit
If something is bothering you, set yourself a timer for how long you will allow yourself to think about it. This will give you time to worry, but when your timer is done, you move on.
3. Is It Yours to Worry About?
If you do not have control over the issue, then face that fact. You cannot control your supervisor’s mood when his favorite team loses, so worrying about dealing with him on Monday is of little use. However, you can control how you react to his mood. If you don’t have control over something, then it isn’t yours to worry about.
4. Make a List
If you are worrying about something that is not necessarily out of your control, work through the following questions: 1) What is your worry? 2) Is your fear fact or fiction? Is there any evidence that what you are worried about will actually occur? 3) What is an alternative to your way of thinking? For example, how likely is it to happen? 4) Was your original thought helpful? Working through your worry in a list format will give you space to think about your worry in context and also allow you to get out of your own head.
5. Is There a Solution
Worrying is a time and energy suck. That’s why you’re reading this article. Instead of worrying, ask yourself if there is something you can be doing. Working toward a solution to a problem or preparing for an impending situation is a much more productive use of your time.
6. Embrace the Unknown
Many things in life are unknown. You can spend your days and nights worrying about those, or you can embrace the endless possibilities that lay ahead of you.
Next time you find yourself worrying, take a step back and work your way through these six options. You may find a solution to your worry.

5 Reasons Being Humble is Good for Your Mental Health
Why does humility get such a bad rap? Too often, we put down the idea of someone humble, simply because we think of them as weak. After all, if you had any real accomplishments, or were worth knowing, you’d tell us…right?
What’s so amazing about humble people is just how much more confident and even competent they are. It takes a strong person to back off and let their actions speak louder than their words. Only someone with a great deal of confidence can keep quiet about their achievements. It’s the weak who have to puff themselves up to appear strong.
With these thoughts in mind, being humble sounds pretty impressive. Now add this thought: it’s actually good for your mental health to be humble. Here’s how:
There’s Less Anxiety About the End
Not everyone likes to be aware of their own mortality. Humble people find death to be not quite so scary. Frequently they are quite good at keeping this in perspective, making them much calmer when the time comes to ‘shuffle off this mortal coil.’
They Have Better Willpower
Why is it when you’re obsessed with yourself you can’t quite get enough of anything? Somehow the ability to put others first also means you’re better able to put their needs first over yours. This has the odd effect of making humble people better at exercising self-control, a trait proven by multiple studies.
You Perform Better Cognitively
Here’s another area where various studies have proven a lot of benefits to being humble. Both in academic and work performance, humble people do better across the board than people who aren’t humble. While no one seems quite sure why this is, the data doesn’t lie. Humble people just think better.
Humble People are More Tolerant
When you’re not so concerned with yourself, you start to let go of the idea that anyone owes you anything. In fact, it becomes quite clear you’re not above anyone else. This means humble people tend to be more at peace in their own minds and experience less prejudice across the board.
They Experience More Love
Kind of going hand in hand with the last item, those who are tolerant and more at peace with others, display more love toward their partners, leading to better, more loving relationships. It might even be argued humble people are simply better at love as they seem to experience more solid relationships, which last longer.
Write Your Affirmations to Manifest What You Want Faster
Affirmations are positive statements that help you meet your goals. They can be powerful motivators to change your mindset, build positive new habits, and get more of what you want in your life. But did you know that writing down your affirmations can turbocharge them, so you get faster results?
The act of writing your affirmations makes them more tangible and brings them out of your head and into the real world. It doesn’t matter if you type them on your computer, tablet, or phone, or use pen and paper. What counts is the act of writing them down. Pinning your written affirmations where you will see them often or having them pop up as a reminder on your phone gives them even greater authority and gives you a regular reminder of what you want more of in your life.
Here are the steps to best write transformative affirmations to get more of what you want faster.
Write your Goal as an Affirmation
Take some quiet time to really focus on getting your affirmation right for you. Make sure that it aligns with your values and your priorities. Make sure your affirmation is an “I statement” and includes a positive, active verb. If you like, you can include your name to make it a formal commitment to yourself.
For example, you might write “I [first name, second name] am easily
· becoming fitter and healthier
· enjoying going to the gym every day
· stopping smoking
· speaking confidently in public.”
Keep Writing it Down!
Experts say that repetition is key when practicing affirmations. You have to rinse and repeat multiple times a day regularly and consistently to help build new neural pathways in your brain and rewire your mindset. And writing your affirmations out numerous times a day is even more effective.
When you write, you have to focus on what you’re doing; your mind can’t drift as it can when you’re reciting out loud.
Commit to writing your affirmation at least ten times a day for it to be most effective. Many people like to start their day this way, or you may prefer to do it on your lunch break or before bed. You might want to use a special notebook as a physical reminder of what you want to achieve. Keep it on your night table or your desk, so it’s there waiting for you.
Note Down Successes
It can get a little tough to remember to write down your affirmations every day. As extra encouragement, it helps to write down the successes, big and small, that show that your affirmation practice is working. Before you know it, you’ll be well on your way to success!

Feel More Confident by Changing Your Body Language Not all of us feel confident in social situations. In fact, recent polls show 2 out of 3 people have experienced some kind of social anxiety. Unfortunately, the world is full of social situations, in every aspect of your work and personal life. While you can’t always change your need to engage with the people around you, you can change how you feel about it. In fact, through some attention to your body language, you can feel more confident the next time you sit down with someone else. Here’s how: Start at the Handshake Not too hard, not too soft, but somewhere in the middle will serve you perfectly. Don’t be afraid to practice this beforehand with someone you trust to give you an honest opinion. Put the Focus on Them From the moment you shake hands, you should be practicing good eye contact. Meet their eyes at the handshake and keep them there, especially when you’re making a point or asking a question. The rule of thumb? Look them in the eye about 60% of the time. While it feels intimidating at first, you’ll be amazed at how your own confidence levels rise when you do. Lean into the Conversation By leaning toward someone when they talk, you convey interest. You’ll also find the added side benefit of hearing them better in crowded social situations, so it’s a win all around. Are you slouching? Different polls have shown that anywhere from 50 – 80% of people have bad posture. This is not only unhealthy for your back (and even your digestion!) but gives the impression you’re disinterested, bored, or disengaged. Draw yourself up and stand tall and proud. A confident posture will go a long way toward boosting your confidence and the confidence placed in you by those you converse with. Keep Your Head Up Keeping your head down, your face turned away, or hiding behind your hair are all traits of someone who’s trying to hide. It’s time to come out in the open by putting your chin up and being proud of who you are. Don’t get Handsy Fidgeting with things or burying your hands in your pockets are both signs of nervousness. Keep your hands in the open, palms up, making slow, natural movements as you speak. This will calm you down and leave you feeling more in control. Walk Like You Mean It Come into a room slowly, with big steps. Confidence blooms with a confident walk. By paying attention to each of these seven things, you’ll find you feel more in control of the situation. You’ll be able to relax and focus on the enjoyment that comes of truly connecting with someone else. In the end, you’ll feel less anxious in social situations in general, leaving you one of the lucky few who never experiences social anxiety at all. Steps for Using Mindfulness to Manage Your AngerYou’ve probably heard about mindfulness. You may even have a regular mindfulness practice that you follow. But did you know you can use mindfulness to help manage your anger? Mindfulness experts have identified several key steps you can take to control and manage your negative emotions. 1. Observe your body’s signals When you're angry, your body sends out all sorts of messages from rapid heartbeat to clenched jaw, stomach, and hand muscles. Your breathing may become light and shallow. You’re ready to fight or fight. 2. Use your breath Breathe into your body’s anger reactions. Close your eyes, focus on the breath going right down into your belly and out again. Count as many breaths as you need to defuse your anger. 3. Connect with your body Stay aware of how your body is feeling. Scan your body to see how the anger reactions are manifesting and subsiding. What does your anger feel like? Don’t judge, just observe and be kind to yourself. 4. Look at your mind monkeys When you're angry dozens of little mad monkey thoughts are running around your brain like naughty kids yelling things like “It’s not fair,” “It’s not my fault,” even curse words. Notice your angry self-talk and how it runs in circles. Try to detach from the thoughts if you can. 5. Step away Separate yourself from the thoughts, feelings, and bodily reactions of anger. They are reactions, they are not you. 6. Reach out Once you have detached from your reactions, you can communicate with the person you’re angry with. Keep the focus on how you feel, make “I” statements, and avoid blaming. Stay calm and keep your voice low-pitched. Keep your awareness on your reactions in case the anger rises up again. 7. Mindful thinking It’s easy for the negative mind monkeys to start chattering away again. Look out for some of the more common thought patterns that feed anger and victimhood. The words ‘never’ and ‘always’ are red flags for anger monkey activity as are blaming statements (it’s your fault, why don’t you listen) and gaslighting. 8. Acknowledge the emotion Don’t try to deny or squash down your anger. It’s a legitimate emotion and in some circumstances, can be a powerful tool against injustice and achieving change. But it is an emotion, it’s not you. Anger, like other feeling states, will come and go, and you can choose how you want to deal with it. https://5minutesofpeace.captivate.fm (5 Minutes of Peace website) Copyright 2022 ThePeaceRoom.love

4 Science-Backed Strategies for Worrying Less Worrying can sometimes seem like an overwhelming part of life. Humans are hardwired to worry; it’s how our ancestors survived. However, if worry is becoming a burden to you in the twenty-first century, then it’s time to explore strategies for removing some of it. Below are four strategies for coping with your worry that science supports. 1. Meditate Specifically, mindfulness meditation has been shown to help lessen worry and the effects of it. In mindfulness meditation, you acknowledge when the mind wanders, label and accept what your mind wanders to, and then move back to focusing on your breath. This will allow you to recognize your worry and acknowledge what is causing it, while not dwelling on it. 2. Accept Uncertainty Worrying about the unknown is something that can snowball. It is in your best interest to accept the fact that somethings in life will be up in the air. If you cannot accept the unknown, you can learn to reframe it. Instead of wondering if you will ever meet the love of your life, you can see being single as an opportunity to meet new people and have new experiences. The power of uncertainty resides in how you frame it. 3. Leave Perfectionism Perfectionism can be a major cause of worry for many individuals. The reverse is also true—worry can also feed perfectionism. Fear of making a mistake, for example, can easily lead to “awfulizing”—when one negative thought leads to another catastrophic one. For example, you may start out worrying that you might make a mistake at your new job because you’ve never completed some of the tasks you are required to do. That can quickly become worrying about how humiliating it would be to get fired for incompetence. By the time you are finished, you are stressing out about how you would pay your bills if you lost your job. In reality, you probably will make mistakes in a new job. But your employer anticipates that. Practice giving yourself a break and relaxing—no one is always perfect. Stressing about it will only make it more likely you will make mistakes. 4. Give Worry a Name Externalize your worry by giving it a name. If you identify your fear as “Claire,” you can then think of your worry as something outside of yourself. For example, Claire is worried about the snowstorm that is expected next week. You can tell Claire that you are prepared for the weather and have the situation under control. This will give you the power to tell Claire why you are done with her and then move away. Finding ways to cope with your worry and lessen the burden it has on your life is a constant work in progress, one that will involve trying new strategies and learning more about yourself.

5 Dynamic Ways to Change Your Subconscious Money Mindset Are you ready to step up and change your subconscious beliefs about money? So many people are held back by their subconscious beliefs about money, work, and deserving. Do a quick check of your own money mindset. Do you think that it’s hard to get rich? Are wealthy people ‘just lucky’? Maybe you can’t see a way out of living from one paycheck to the next. Perhaps you dream of ‘one day’ clearing all the bills and being debt-free. The good news is that your mindset can be changed. Here are five dynamic ways you can start switching up your subconscious to a wealthy mindset and removing those mental obstacles right now. 1. Decide to Move Your Goal Posts Most people tend to think that their finances are impacted by external factors that they have little or no control over. But the most important factor in whether you stay in Struggle Street or move into wealth is where you expect to be. Somewhere deep in your subconscious, you have several money goals or set points. They set your expectations for how much money (and debt) you expect to have. You have control over these beliefs. 2. Free Yourself from Your Programming Most of your beliefs about money were set by your childhood experiences. How did your family experience money? What were the messages you received? Chances are your family’s money mindset was like many others – money is hard to get, doesn’t grow on trees, and only the lucky few are rich. If there were hard times, was there an expectation that they were temporary and better times would come? Or was money seen as elusive or scarce? Once you have identified where your money mindset came from, you can take back control and reset it for abundance. 3. Root out past Financial Failures Everyone goes through bad times, but it’s up to you how you deal with the legacy. Maybe past failure continues to haunt you as a reminder and reinforcer of your childhood negative money messages. Feeling guilty or sad about past failures is not an excellent way to build a positive future. Acknowledge your past mistakes and move on to focus on better things. 4. Use Mind-Body techniques to shift Old Beliefs There are some very effective ways you can use physical methods to shift old belief patterns that are no longer serving you. Techniques like Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) use gentle tapping on acupressure points to help focus your mind on unblocking negative emotions. 5. Rest Your Money Goals Once you have cleared away old beliefs, you can set new, positive money goals. You will have the freedom to make positive choices. Instead of focusing on the difficulties of paying bills, you can change your expectations and focus on the wealth you want.

6 Harmful Effects of Excessive Worrying Worrying to some can seem like an uncomfortable routine. Worrying carries you through your days, whether they are tough, or everything is going smoothly. However, that discomfort is most likely affecting you in ways you haven’t realized. Because with the painful routine of worry comes the parallel routines of dealing with it. Which of these harmful effects is excessive worrying causing you? 1. Time Suck Have you ever been roused out of a daze of worry? Maybe you were staring out a window thinking about a bill that is due or a dreaded impending trip. How long were you in that daze? Minutes or hours? You lose valuable time worrying when you could be actively working on something important. 2. Lack of Enjoyment Worry can also suck the enjoyment out of life. You should be enjoying an ice cream date with your new boyfriend, but instead, you are worriedabout calories. Maybe you could be enjoying a sunny day, but instead, you are concerned about all the emails you must answer at work tomorrow. 3. Insomnia Staying up all night in an aggravated and tired heap is a waste of time and not in the least bit enjoyable. Insomnia is a major effect of excessive worry, and it affects the rest of your life and health as well. 4. Physical Debilitation Stomach aches, acid reflux, migraines, and other debilitating illnesses are often caused or made worse by worry. Our bodies are tough, but they are a canvas for what goes on in our minds. What might your chronic symptoms be telling you about your level of worry? 5. Relationship Strain Your relationships, whether romantic, platonic, or familial, can all be affected by your own worry because it impacts how you behave. Those that love and care for you will feel the weight of your burdens, or they may feel that you cannot focus on them due to the overwhelming stress you are trying to deal with. No matter how much you are loved, the relationship will eventually become strained under the weight of it all. 6. Vices Turning to a vice for relief from worry is more common than you think. Smoking, drinking, binge eating, or other forms of eating disorders can all be vices or illnesses that develop in response to excessive worry. While these “vices” can vary in their extremes, they all are harmful. While the bolded words of this article may seem like the start of a stand-up comedy act at first, the harmful effects of excessive worry are no laughing matter. Be it insomnia or a resulting mental illness such as depression, this list should serve as both a warning as to why you should take care of yourself and reach out to others that are dealing with excessive worry.

7 Ways to Ensure Your Body Language is Congruent with Your Message Not sure your message is getting across? It might be because you’re sending mixed signals. By paying attention to your body language, you can be sure you’re always saying exactly what you intend, both verbally or non-verbally. Follow these quick tips to make sure your body language is congruent with your message: Know What You’re Talking About It’s impossible to convey to the world anything very clearly if you’re not sure what you’re saying in the first place. Your body language will give away your own confusion, and more often than not leave your audience confused as to what you’re trying to convey. This is why it’s so important to settle in your own mind what your goals are before you even begin. Believe What You Say If you’re not buying what you’re selling, then how in the world do you expect others to believe in you? This means you need to know what you’re talking about, and you need to believe in the words you say. Unsure of the veracity of your message? You’ll need to convince yourself if you expect your body language to sync up. Take a Minute Body language will look forced if you’re nervous, regardless of what you say. Take a deep breath. Shake out your hands or go into a restroom to regroup if you’re getting overwhelmed. Once calm, continue, knowing your body language will convey this, which will be taken as confidence in your message. Don’t Oversell the Part Using large, exuberant gestures only makes your body language look insincere and like something out of a melodrama. Keep your movements natural, your gestures slow and easy. Be Honest How can you expect your body language to say you’re sincere when you’re not? Be authentic in what you’re talking about, and your body will reflect this. Read the Crowd Learning some of the basics of body language will help you to adjust your own. Pay attention to the signals that someone is losing interest (crossed arms, looking away). These are examples of closed body language, and it shows that something about your message is throwing them off or making them feel anxious. It might be time to adjust what you’re doing to create the incongruency. Create Rapport Lean in while talking, keep eye contact at a comfortable level, and encourage your listener to relax into the conversation with you. Once you have rapport between you, you know your message is being listened to in the way you want it to be. In short, if you want your message to be heard and accepted, pay attention to your body language – and theirs. A little effort will go a long way toward creating the situation you desire.

Embrace All Imperfection to Enjoy Life More If you have any contact with social media, you will have noticed how everyone is striving to be perfect. Suddenly you can’t post a selfie without at least one filter or go out for dinner without showing your curated plate of food. Even your dog has to look perfect. What if you just decided to take a step away from all the competition, all that clamoring for likes and hearts? What if you chose merely to enjoy your life without sharing it with the world? Here’s how you can reclaim your life and be happier. 1. Stop judging You can decide right now to stop analyzing other people, looking for what’s wrong with their face or their body or their life choices. Refocus your attitude, so you stop seeing a difference as a flaw but as merely something that makes that person unique. Just let go of the urge to criticize others, and you’ll notice a flow-on effect on how you see yourself. 2. Accept your imperfection Wanting to be the best version of you isn’t the same as being a perfectionist. A perfectionist is never happy with who they are, how they look, or how they’re doing. Being your best means you work hard, you try, and you don’t give up. But it doesn’t mean you blame yourself when things aren’t perfect, and you don’t take failure personally. 3. Relax and enjoy the process Perfectionists tend to trip over every little detail and allow imperfections to spoil their lives. When you embrace imperfection as a natural part of life, it frees you up to enjoy the ride. Obstacles become challenges that make life more enjoyable. You can slow down and notice all the good things there are in your life. 4. Adopt imperfection as a way of life Once you make peace with imperfection, you can be a lot more objective about life. Your perspective changes, and what once seemed overwhelmingly important suddenly doesn’t matter so much. All experiences become just another aspect of a life lived richly, that builds the person you are continually becoming. Imperfection stops being something to avoid at all costs. Think about it like this: perfection implies stasis, something you achieve and have to tend. It’s fragile and vulnerable. It puts an end to growth. And then what? You don’t want to stop learning and growing and developing, do you? Embracing imperfection means there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow and become a better person.
The One Rule for Finding Your Life’s Purpose Everyone feels flat and unmotivated sometimes. No matter how energetic and focused you are, there will be some days when you’re just not feeling the vibe. You can give your motivation a kick-start by reinvigorating your life’s purpose. And this need not mean that you need to do a course or an online quiz or take yourself off to motivation boot camp. In fact, you don’t even need to do a bunch of things to get back on track. You just need to do one simple thing. If you’re really in the doldrums, you need to pick yourself up and take a big step out of your comfort zone. The Ins and Outs of Your Comfort Zone Most people stay in their comfort zone for a perfectly good reason – it’s comfortable! It feels good to be surrounded by like-minded people who don’t challenge your view of the world. Your comfort zone is a cozy place. Online or in the real world, your comfort zone is full of messages that reinforce the status quo. It’s okay to miss your gym session or to be a couch potato. Everyone is sitting at home, eating tacos, or popcorn. Staying in your comfort zone is a one-way street to not taking on any challenges, not growing, not developing, or achieving. Comfort zone living encourages procrastination. It makes you defensive and frustrated when your instant gratification needs are not met, or when someone disagrees with you. The Benefits of Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone When you decide to step outside your comfort zone, sure it might feel a little scary, but the benefits soon outweigh the fears. You can start to see that trying different things will stretch you and help you become a better person. Challenges can lead to success, which can lead to you achieving things you would never have dreamed of. And you can start to dream bigger and better dreams—your attitude toward success changes. Suddenly you know you can do it. You can see your deep desires begin to become a reality. Your Life’s Purpose Lies Outside Your Comfort Zone Having more confidence in your capabilities means you can look around and see what your life’s purpose is. And guaranteed it’s not likely to be a marathon Netflix session! With one simple decision, you leave your own personal safety bubble and see the world from a different perspective. You can see how what you do in your life can help to make the world a better place. That whatever you do has an impact on other people. You can make a difference once you step out of your comfort zone and start living with meaning.

Breathing and Gratitude Meditation A great way of cultivating the habit of gratitude is to pause for a few minutes, focus on your breath, and practice what it feels like to be grateful. You can do it anywhere – There are many places to try this simple awareness technique. Let’s get started. 1. Find a moment to pause whether you are sitting or standing still. You may choose to close your eyes or keep them open. 2. Let’s take a few moments to connect to your breath. Focus on the area of your heart. Breathing in and out of your heart space a little slower and deeper than usual. 3. Now, Gently scan through your body. Simply notice, observe any areas of tension you may be holding in your body. Release the energy you are giving to that area on your next exhalation. Relax your jaw. Relax your forehead. Relax the space between your brow. 4. Come back to your breath. Take a few moments to breathe in and out of your heart space. 5. Now, think of something you feel grateful for. It can be a person, a moment from the past, an animal that makes you smile, or even something simpler like getting a good night's sleep or experiencing something beautiful in nature. For the next 30 seconds hold this feeling of gratitude. 6. Come back to the here and now. Practice this waking meditation throughout your day for as long as you like.
