Welcome to Let’s Take Stock, a Global Shares podcast for emerging companies on their high-growth journey. In each episode, we’ll take a look at what’s going on in the VC and startup landscape and share our insights on how you can leverage your equity to help take your company to the next level. We’ll be joined by people from across the industry to talk about all things growth and scaling up. From fundraising and VCs to employee equity and market expansion, our goal is to help you navigate the startup roadmap with special insights and insider tips from our experts.
Last year, VC investment almost doubled to $643 billion, we had 586 new unicorns compared to 167 in 2020, and there were 1,033 US IPOs versus 471 a year earlier.
This year, things are changing - and fast - as share prices continue to fall rapidly. This is thanks to a perfect storm of accelerating inflation, rising interest rates, and geopolitical uncertainty. Not surprisingly, valuations are also starting to plummet.
To help us weather the storm, we’re joined by founder of the valuations software company, Equidam, Daniel Faloppa.

In this episode of Let's Take Stock, we’re taking a look behind the scenes at the startup/VC relationship.
From securing the funding, to expanding into a new market - we’ll be lifting the lid on what goes on when a VC decides to come on board, and what every founder needs to know to for a successful partnership. Joining us to discuss this area further is Edel Coen, Principal at Molten Ventures.
Edel started out in Silicon Valley where she worked with Irish enterprise software companies on their US market entry strategy. She then focused on early-stage sustainability and digital health ventures with BVP, and now she focuses on Enterprise, Deeptech, and Digital Health with Molten Ventures.
