C-Flat: Recent Episodes

Luca Horn-Morawa + Adrien Chung

Welcome to C-Flat, where we bring you interesting and (sometimes) amusing conversation about the world around us! We try to take topics that are somewhat obscure, condense them into an easy-to-understand, 30 minute podcast, and share these interesting facts with the world!

For the first time on the C-flat Podcast, we have a guest speaker! Coltin Chao joins us to talk about the disastrous Russian Second Pacific Fleet, plagued with binocular-throwing captains, horrendous errors, feral animals, STDs, exfoliating (yet lung damaging) coal dust, and much much more.

We try 8 different types of bubble tea and talk about the history of the beverage that has taken the world by storm. If you don't already have your own preferences, we recommend and rate different styles and flavors, including taro, yam, avocado, mango, oolong, and more! Edited by Ben Tilson.

This is our first episode of the CFlat Études, which are shorter podcasts that you can listen to when you're doing something fast. In this episode, we talk about Peto's Paradox (how larger animals have less of a chance to get cancer than humans, even though they have more cells). We hope you enjoy!

In this episode, we try to explain quantum physics and the theory of relativity to each other...it does not go well: Adrien succumbs to laughter while explaining electron waves and Luca ends the episode knowing less about general relativity. This unedited first take is a collective mess of half-baked physical theory; please do not take anything we say as fact. Thanks for listening!

In this exciting new episode of CFlat Podcast, Adrien and Luca review the stories of six different national anthems from around the world. Between the Mexican anthem writer's imprisonment by his own wife and Uganda's 8-measure anthem, this episode will leave you exhaling out of your nose while you do whatever it is you do in your life. You will also learn about France's national anthem, which has been banned more times than DC Films has put out a good movie, and the trouble with Spain's lack of lyrics (unless you count the communist ones). Use this episode as background noise while fighting bears, or carefully analyse our poor money making decisions at Universal studios while writing your dissertation; either way, we're glad to have you join us on another episode of CFlat Podcast.

Giant pictograms (sometimes over 1km across) drawn with mathematical precision cover the Peruvian desert plateau. These pictograms, also known as the Nazca lines have been puzzling explorers and archeologists alike. Their purpose is more or less unknown, and no one knows how they were created with such precision. We thought that these enigmatic and somewhat obscure lines would be the perfect topic for the pilot episode of the podcast! Welcome to C-flat- where we bring you interesting and (sometimes) amusing conversation about the world around us. We hope you enjoy!
