In this episode of the In the Red Podcast, host Anthony Hart explores the concept of capacity, encompassing not just physical capacity but also mental, emotional, and spiritual capacity. Anthony shares his realization that while their church property has ample physical space, limited capacity in other areas is holding them back from fully utilizing it.

Drawing on biblical parables and personal examples, he illustrates how our mindsets, emotions, and spiritual states can either limit or expand our ability to grow. The main takeaway is that focusing solely on physical growth without addressing internal capacities is futile. To truly expand, we must first work on increasing our mental, emotional, and spiritual capacities.

Chapters:

  • Introduction and Call to Action (00:00:19): Anthony introduces the podcast, its purpose of providing applicable wisdom, and encourages listeners to follow, download, and review. He contrasts the podcast's approach with churches that fail to make teachings relevant for daily life.
  • The Concept of Capacity (00:03:57): While mowing the church's 10-acre property, Pastor Anthony has a realization that despite the physical space, they couldn't expand further due to limited capacities in other areas. He explains that capacity encompasses mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects, not just physical.
  • Mental Capacity and Education (00:17:13): Anthony discusses how mental capacity is often limited by societal norms and education systems that lower expectations. He uses examples of other countries with higher educational standards to illustrate the impact of mental capacity on growth and achievement.
  • Emotional Capacity and Entertainment (00:20:13): Anthony explores how emotional capacity is drained by mindless entertainment and reality TV, which promote unhealthy relationships and lack of personal development. He argues that these influences limit our emotional capacity for growth.
  • The Parable of the Talents (00:26:39): Hart analyzes the biblical parable of the talents, where servants were given different amounts of money to manage. He uses this to illustrate how mental and emotional capacities, not just physical resources, determine one's ability to grow and achieve more.
  • Challenging Limiting Beliefs (00:31:24): In conclusion, he challenges listeners to examine their limiting beliefs and mindsets that may be stunting their growth. He encourages them to expand their mental, emotional, and spiritual capacities to prepare for physical growth in various areas of life.

Welcome to the "In the Red Podcast" with your host, Pastor Anthony Hart. In this illuminating episode titled "Stuck in Insecurity," he delves deep into the pervasive issue of insecurity and how it affects our lives and decisions.

As the podcast begins, Anthony introduces the new year, urging listeners to take a moment to follow, download, and review the podcast, emphasizing the importance of this valuable content.

The core theme of this episode revolves around insecurity, and Anthony starts by providing a clear definition of this prevalent concern. Insecurity, he explains, is the uncertainty and anxiety that stems from a lack of confidence in oneself, ultimately leading to a sense of danger and vulnerability.

Throughout the episode, you'll gain insights into how anxiety and triggers often dominate our language and thoughts, highlighting the powerful grip of insecurity on our daily lives. Anthony emphasizes that many individuals wear insecurity as a badge of honor, failing to address the root causes beneath the surface.

One critical point discussed is the tendency for people to fund their insecurities, hoping that God will continue to provide. However, he reminds us that God does not finance insecure behaviors, making it essential to halt this cycle in order to receive His true provision.

Drawing from scripture, Pastor Hart reveals that Jesus came to destroy insecurity. He was anointed to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the captive, sight to the blind, and favor to the oppressed. By removing the underlying causes of insecurity, Jesus offers us the confidence to break free from its suffocating grip.

In the latter part of the episode, Anthony stresses the importance of recognizing and rejecting the lies that hold us back from embracing our true identities. He encourages listeners to replace insecurity with confidence, understanding that our past failures do not define us.

In conclusion, "Stuck in Insecurity" is a powerful exploration of a topic that affects many aspects of our lives. Pastor Anthony Hart's wisdom and insights will inspire you to break free from the shackles of insecurity and embrace the confidence and favor that await you in the year ahead.

Welcome back to another episode of the "In the Red Podcast" with your host, Anthony Hart. Whether you're a long-time listener or this is your first time here, we value your presence and believe that everyone, including you, plays an essential role in the conversation we're about to have.

This podcast aims to inspire meaningful dialogue and provide fresh perspectives. Our goal is to make you think, challenge your beliefs, and encourage you to converse with those around you. We live in a world filled with arguments and debates, but we truly need more genuine conversation to share perspectives, listen, learn, and grow together.

Anthony reflects on the power of trust in these conversations. Trust is built when people listen and witness the consistency between words and actions. Just as in his role as a pastor, Anthony learned that true impact comes from sharing moments in conversation, fostering trust, and being an example through actions.

Anthony introduces the central theme of this episode: the distinction between "presence" and "being present." He emphasizes how our culture often prioritizes having a commanding "presence," trying to stand out and demand attention. However, this focus on presence can lead to a superficial need for validation and attention, turning people into beggars for recognition.

In contrast, "being present" means connecting genuinely with others, offering value, and serving rather than demanding attention. It's about listening, sharing, and walking alongside others, even in their struggles. Anthony believes this distinction is crucial in various aspects of life, from family dynamics to business leadership.

Anthony also discusses his experience with The Founder Con Christian Business Conference, where they prioritize speakers who are present on stage and throughout the event, engaging in conversations and fostering connections.

He urges listeners to apply this understanding of presence and being present in their own lives, suggesting that it can bring transformation to family relationships, workplaces, and spiritual growth. He emphasizes that God is always present with us, and we should embrace this presence in our everyday lives.

In conclusion, Anthony challenges listeners to consider whether they are trying to cultivate a commanding presence or truly being present with those around them. He encourages everyone to be present, listen, and connect with others, as it is in these moments that real change and transformation can occur.

Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the "In the Red Podcast." Have a blessed and meaningful week ahead, and remember to be present with those who matter most in your life.

In this episode of the In the Red Podcast, host Anthony Hart dives deep into the topic of attitudes and how they shape our lives. He begins by sharing his own wisdom and experiences gained over the years.

The episode starts with a discussion about the word "attitude" and its impact on our lives. Anthony explores how many people can relate to moments when they or someone they know had a bad attitude. He highlights the importance of understanding attitudes and their effects.

Anthony had the opportunity to speak to middle school students and found that they were discussing attitudes, both good and bad. This inspired him to explore the concept further. He shares a thought-provoking definition of attitude: "A mental position with regard to a factor, state, or a feeling or emotion toward a factor or state."

He delves into the idea that attitudes can become a lifestyle, shifting from momentary emotions to a habitual state of readiness. Anthony emphasizes that a bad attitude can lead to rejecting good things in life and missing opportunities.

The episode continues with a discussion of two types of attitudes: the negative attitude and the "have to" attitude. Anthony encourages listeners to shift from negative attitudes by intentionally seeking the good in everything, even challenging situations.

He then tackles the "have to" attitude, highlighting the difference between viewing tasks as obligations versus opportunities. Anthony explains how the "get to" attitude can transform our lives, making us more open to experiencing abundance and freedom.

The podcast encourages listeners to question their attitudes and understand the "why" behind their actions. Shifting from "have to" to "get to" attitudes can lead to a more positive and impactful life.

In conclusion, Anthony Hart leaves listeners with a powerful message: "Take notice of your attitude. Change it from 'I have to' to 'I get to.' Embrace positivity, and remember that these small shifts can make you a difference-maker in the world around you."

He introduces himself as a pastor, acknowledging that this might cause some to hesitate but asks for a chance to be heard. The host emphasizes that the podcast discusses topics that can help people, especially those who may have been wounded or hurt in church or by Christians. He promises to provide truth, love, grace, and a genuine connection for those seeking to figure things out.

The host acknowledges that he doesn't have all the answers and stresses the importance of continuous learning and growth for Christians. He highlights the significance of unlearning and pruning, letting go of broken concepts and methods, and remaining humble on the journey of following Jesus.

The central theme of this episode is "honor." The host observes the lack of honor in society, including political systems and church communities. He discusses how dishonorable behavior often emerges when people are attacked or in emotional situations, emphasizing the importance of genuine, ingrained honor rather than a facade.

The podcast concludes with a call for Christians to pray for their leaders and to operate in a manner that reflects honor.

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to feel isolated. Post-COVID, we've seen a spotlight shine on the issue of isolation, revealing its impact on our lives. It's a space where negativity breeds, where loneliness takes root, and where we often find ourselves cut off from the people who could lend a helping hand.

But what if I told you that you hold the key to breaking free from isolation? What if I shared a concept that has transformed my life and the lives of those in my circle?

In this episode, we embark on a journey to explore the value of friendship, connection, and community. I've witnessed firsthand how society's obsession with speed, individualism, and materialism has eroded the sense of community that once thrived in our villages. But we can change that.

Together, we'll rediscover the power of true friendship and the concept of the village. It's about recognizing that every person brings unique gifts to the table. Just as in a traditional village where individuals have their own strengths and contributions, we, too can come together to support and uplift each other.

We'll discuss the importance of actively seeking friendship, not as a means of self-pity or therapy, but as an opportunity to grow together. It starts with looking in the right places, examining your own attitude, and understanding what you bring to the table.

And let's not forget the greatest friend of all, the one who laid down his life for us, Jesus. His love and friendship are foundational, and embracing them can transform the way we connect with others.

So, if you've been on the quest for true friendship or have felt the weight of isolation, this episode is for you. Join us as we explore the journey from searching for friends to becoming a friend, and discover the beauty of building your own village.

Thank you for tuning in to In the Red with Anthony Hart. Let's explore the transformative power of friendship together. Stay connected, stay inspired, and remember, you're never alone when you're part of a village.

Welcome to another captivating episode of "In the Red Podcast" with your host, Anthony Hart. Here we are again, you and me, ready to dive into some thought-provoking insights. But hold on, this isn't going to be a run-of-the-mill exciting topic. I'm thrilled to be with you today, as always, sharing thoughts that stem from the world around us. I'm Anthony Hart, and I'm about to explore a topic that's both challenging and transformative – "Your Mouth Will Reveal You."

If you know anything about me, you'll realize that I thrive on fresh perspectives. It's about breaking free from echo chambers and expanding our horizons. We often tend to surround ourselves with like-minded people, but that's where we limit our growth. The danger lies in becoming stagnant, locked in our ways, and excusing it with "that's just who I am." But let's face it, that statement often covers up a lousy attitude or self-imposed limitations that drain our vitality and drive those around us crazy.

Being around people who continually demand, drain, and exhibit a needy attitude can be suffocating. As a pastor, I genuinely love helping people and walking through life with them. But even I find it challenging to pastor my friends because I see the value in having relationships where relaxation, mutual growth, and genuine connection flourish.

The key is balance, surrounding ourselves with friends who uplift and enrich our lives, rather than solely relying on us for support. I've found friendships where neediness isn't the defining characteristic. Jay, a friend who's had his seasons of need and support, stands as an example of such a balanced relationship.

So, let's dive into today's theme: "Your Mouth Will Reveal You." You might be thinking, "Why should I care about my words?" Well, here's why: Out of the abundance of your heart, your mouth speaks. Your words carry weight – they reflect the essence of who you are. Think about it, have you ever noticed the disconnect between what someone says and how they truly feel? That's where the problem lies.

But let's talk scripture for a moment, even if you're not big on that. I'm here to provide insights that transcend boundaries. The Bible holds wisdom that often goes overlooked due to various reasons. We tend to weaponize it rather than embrace its life-affirming truths.

I've seen negativity on social media – a platform that's both a source of content and frustration. It's where I've found material for our discussions. Negative voices often shout the loudest, driven by insecurity and a desire to validate themselves by tearing others down. They react, attack, and argue, guided by an inner turmoil.

But here's the crux: "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." You might be wondering about the relevance of fruit and vegetables in all this. Well, bear with me. Fruit contains seeds, and when planted, they grow into more fruit-bearing trees. In essence, they perpetuate life. Similarly, your words can either spread life or destruction.

When you say you're a Christian, you're essentially claiming a platform. And platforms come with audiences. Your actions then are watched and evaluated by that audience. This leads us to the concept of fruit in Scripture, especially the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Let's not forget Peter – impulsive and imperfect. He's the rock upon which the church was built. Relationships are key to accountability – a relationship grants you access to hold someone accountable. It's not about public berating, but fostering growth.

So, I challenge you to examine your words and actions. Do they reflect life, positivity, and the fruit of the Spirit? Are you contributing to the positive voice, or are you perpetuating negativity? Your mouth will reveal you. Let's stand together, speak life, and make a lasting impact. This is Anthony Hart, signing off. Until next time, let's go.

Welcome to the In the Red Podcast with Anthony Hart! In this episode, we dive deep into the transformative power of moments with God. Over the past few weeks, we explored Old Testament examples of people who encountered God and how it changed their lives. But, as we'll discover, these encounters were not one-time fixes; rather, they were stepping stones to growth.

Anthony shares a powerful insight: encountering God and experiencing a revelation of who He is can be life-changing for a season, but there's a deeper connection required for continued growth. The first encounter with God is essential, but it's not a "one-stop shop" where we get all the answers and never need anything more.

He uses relatable anecdotes to illustrate this point. He talks about the first moments with God, where we feel His love, mercy, and forgiveness, but how there comes a time when deeper understanding and revelation are needed to navigate different seasons of life.

Anthony adds an "Amen" to emphasize the significance of those altar-ing moments, noting that we shouldn't just seek to go back and relive them. Instead, we should recognize that we need more, a deeper connection with God as we grow in our faith.

Drawing parallels from personal experiences, the conversation delves into the maturing phase that occurs after meeting Christ. Just like meeting someone for the first time and needing a deeper revelation of their character as the relationship grows, our relationship with God demands ongoing spiritual growth.

The discussion takes us to Acts 17:24-27, where the Apostle Paul addresses non-believers in Athens, Greece. The scripture reminds us that God is ever-present, not far from us, and that we should seek Him with earnestness.

The conversation further explores Peter's journey and how he went from fear and doubt to unwavering faith. Moments of encounter with God brought transformation in Peter's life, leading him to a point of willingness to die for his faith, a joy and peace rooted in God's presence.

Through these stories, we uncover the nature of God, represented in three altar moments in the Old Testament: God as the Provider, God as the Banner, and God as Peace.

Anthony emphasizes that moments of encounter with God impart the fruit of the Spirit into our lives. Encounter moments aren't just moments of expectation but moments of impartation, where God's love, joy, and peace invade our hearts, transforming us from within.

As we journey with God, these moments of encounter leave a lasting impact. They define our understanding of God's goodness, and our personal testimonies become powerful declarations of His reality. With personal experiences and scriptural insights, this episode encourages listeners to seek deeper connections with God, embracing growth, and experiencing His transformative love and power. Welcome to the In the Red Podcast with Anthony Hart. If you haven't been with us for the first couple of weeks, we've been on a sermon series called Altar'd Living. It's all about establishing the core of what we do at the altar and understanding its purpose. Often, we get caught up in what we bring to the altar and forget that it's meant to be a transformative exchange with God.

In this podcast, Anthony Hart delves into the concept of altered living by exploring stories from the Old Testament where altars were built and revelations were experienced. These revelations reveal who God is and how He works in our lives. When we bring our brokenness, cares, and fears to the altar, God exchanges them for life, joy, and peace.

Anthony draws from biblical examples such as Abraham, Moses, and Gideon to illustrate the power of the altar and the transformative nature of encountering God. He emphasizes that the altar is not just a physical structure but a symbol of surrendering our burdens and allowing God to bring wholeness and restoration.

Through engaging storytelling and relatable anecdotes, Anthony challenges listeners to examine the altars in their own lives—both physical and metaphorical—and consider how they can be torn down and rebuilt in alignment with God's original intent. He emphasizes the importance of seeking God in our time and place, experiencing His peace, and walking in His blessings.

Join Anthony Hart as he explores the depths of biblical peace (shalom) and how it goes beyond mere tranquility. Discover how altar'd living can lead to a profound transformation in your relationship with God and others. Experience the power of the altar and learn to walk in the fullness of what God has for you. Join us as he uncovers the historical backdrop of Judges, which follows the era of Joshua, and discover the profound implications it holds for understanding our own spiritual journey.

The children of Israel, guided by a lineage of patriarchs from Abraham to Joseph, found themselves enslaved in Egypt due to their perceived threat by the ruling powers. But God intervened, sending Moses to lead them through the wilderness and Joshua to bring them into the promised land. Welcome to the latest "In the Red Podcast" episode titled "Altar'd Living - Altering Your Trajectory." In this thought-provoking discussion, Pastor Anthony dives deep into the significance of the altar and its transformative power in our lives.

The conversation opens emphasizing the biblical truth that we are overcomers by nature, highlighting the importance of walking in our identity and speaking words of victory over ourselves. Pastor Anthony adds to this notion, questioning why, as overcomers, we sometimes find ourselves underwhelmed, reminding us of the invitation to keep walking and overcoming through the power of the altar.

The episode unfolds as he explores the concept of altered living and its connection to the altar. He reflects on the diverse forms altars can take, ranging from traditional church altars to personal altars found in unexpected places. He stresses that it's not about the physical structure itself but rather what it represents both in the past and present.

Drawing from the Old and New Testaments, Pastor Anthony sheds light on the invitation presented by the New Testament—an invitation for all individuals, regardless of their background, to operate in the transformative space offered by the church. However, he acknowledges that the diverse mindsets people bring with them can create distractions and divisions within the body of Christ.

He delves into the issue of misconceptions about God, highlighting how often we project our own thoughts and emotions onto Him. He encourages listeners to seek a true understanding of God's nature and avoid being led solely by feelings and emotions.

The discussion continues by addressing the dynamic nature of altar moments, emphasizing that laying everything on the altar is not a one-time event. He stresses the importance of continuously evolving and growing in our relationship with Christ. He refers to a passage in Acts 17, where Paul engages with the people of Athens, who possessed limited knowledge of God. He draws parallels between the Athenians' search for the unknown God and the journey of believers today.

As the episode progresses, he introduces the concept of ignorance, distinguishing it from derogatory judgment. He explains how ignorance can arise from complacency and generational patterns, limiting our understanding and connection with God. Pastor Anthony urges the church to move beyond denominational boundaries and expand their knowledge of who God truly is.

He concludes by emphasizing the power of revelation that occurs when we release our preconceived notions and approach God as the ultimate source. He discusses how the altar represents a pivotal moment of repentance, leading to a transformative relationship with Jesus, rather than mere religious rituals. Furthermore, he highlights the significance of tearing down idols and religious constructs to embrace a genuine, altered living experience.

In this episode of In the Red Podcast, Anthony Hart delves into the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ and his mission beyond his birth as the Savior. Through 11 statements made by Jesus in the Gospels, the podcast uncovers the knowledge and wisdom that came with his arrival, beyond the simple fact that he paid for our sins.

The podcast highlights the challenge of preaching and studying these teachings, particularly for those who have not memorized the first four books of the Bible, which were ingrained in the Jewish culture at the time of Jesus.

Host Anthony Hart discusses how Jesus came to restore the birthright of the Jewish people and prepare his disciples to carry his light, love, truth, and life to the world.

The podcast presents two passages of Scripture from Luke and John that describe Jesus as both fire and light, and emphasizes that Jesus' teachings were not separate from his mission to save humanity. The podcast explores how these concepts of fire and light were significant in Jesus' time and how they continue to have relevance in our lives today.

Ultimately, In the Red Podcast aims to help listeners understand and apply Jesus' teachings to their lives, so that they too can become carriers of his light and love to the world around them.

Welcome to a new episode of "In the Red Podcast" with your host, Anthony Hart. In this episode, we delve into the finalization of the Sermon on the Mount. It's been an incredible four months of exploration and understanding, building a wide foundation just as Jesus did. As we dive deep into the scriptures, we discover the significance of having personal foundational moments in our lives. Just like archaeologists who unearth hidden treasures, we must dig down to the core of our faith to truly understand what it means to build upon the rock.

Anthony takes us on a journey, drawing parallels between the foundation of Jesus' teachings and the foundational moments we experience individually. Exploring Matthew 7:24-27, he emphasizes the importance of not only hearing the words of Jesus but also putting them into action. We are challenged to build our lives on the solid rock of Jesus, knowing that when the storms of life come, we will stand firm.

The episode takes an introspective turn as Anthony addresses the prevalence of false prophets and deceptive teachings in today's world. Referencing passages from Jeremiah, Romans, and 2 Peter, he warns against those who twist the truth and prey on the simplicity and naivety of believers. By examining the meaning of heresy, he encourages listeners to discern between dominant theories and the unchanging truth of God's Word.

Join Anthony as he unpacks these profound truths and challenges us to examine our own foundations. Discover the joy and security of building upon the rock, allowing Jesus to be not only our foundation but also our builder and architect. Tune in to this thought-provoking episode and let the truth of Jesus' words transform your life.

In the Red Podcast with Anthony Hart is a show about spirituality, faith, and how to live a fulfilling life in Christ. In this episode, Anthony talks about how God has been revealing different words to him, and how these words have become the pivot series. He explains the importance of pivoting in life, comparing it to the pivot foot in basketball, which changes your direction and trajectory. Anthony emphasizes that a pivot is not to keep you locked in, but to position you to do something in a different direction. He talks about how the pandemic has forced many of us to pivot and move in the direction that God wants us to.

Anthony then introduces the two words that have been in his spirit all week: excess and access. He talks about how we live in a world where the pursuit is excess and how we always want more. However, he emphasizes that an excess of something is not necessarily good because it means that you are not using it. He invites listeners to consider the invitation of having access to more without having an excess of it. Anthony then discusses how the value of excess is limiting, while the value of access is abundant. He talks about how having access to something means that you have exactly what you need and an abundance that you can give away.

Throughout the episode, Anthony uses personal anecdotes and humor to make his points relatable and engaging. He draws on examples from the Bible and everyday life to illustrate his ideas and provides practical advice for listeners who want to pivot in their own lives. This episode will appeal to anyone who is looking for guidance on how to live a more fulfilling life and wants to deepen their relationship with God.

This podcast episode is a continuation of a sermon series that has been going on since January called "Why Am I Here?" The focus of the series has been on the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 through 7 and the foundation of kingdom principles.

Pastor Anthony discusses how Jesus was not necessarily saying anything new, but was putting more emphasis on certain concepts. He emphasizes the importance of not just talking the talk but walking the walk, and being a living example of the principles one believes in.

The episode centers around the Golden Rule, which is a concept that has been taught in many religions throughout history. The speakers explore how the Golden Rule is not just a Christian principle but is present in many religions, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism.

Pastor Anthony also discusses the importance of understanding the entire picture of God, and how Christianity is an extension of Judaism. He emphasizes that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and that the Old Testament is about discipline, while the New Testament is about correction.

Pastor Anthony encourages listeners not to get stuck in the disciplinary mode and to embrace the correction that comes with a relationship with God. Overall, this episode is about exploring the concept of the Golden Rule and the importance of understanding the entire picture of God.

On this Easter morning, we are reminded that we can get so stuck in the day-to-day that we forget the deeper meaning of certain days, like Easter and Christmas.

In this episode, Pastor Anthony reflects on the first Easter morning and how it was a day of uncertainty and questioning for Mary Magdalene. Despite the doubts and fears, Mary had a job to do and a purpose to fulfill. Through her seeking, she encountered the risen Lord, and her life was forever changed.

He encourages listeners to move beyond simply knowing about Jesus to truly knowing Him intimately, as Mary did.

Show Notes:

  • Introduction to the significance of Easter and Christmas in the Christian church
  • Anecdote about joking with the speaker's son about Jesus getting out of the grave and the importance of stake-in-the-ground days
  • Reflection on the first Easter morning and how it didn't look like what we celebrate now
  • Discussion about the pain and suffering associated with Easter and the importance of remembering Jesus' sacrifice
  • Personal reflection on the speaker's struggles with shame and disappointment
  • Story of Mary Magdalene's seeking and purpose
  • Biblical passage on seeking and finding, and its relevance to Easter morning
  • Account of Mary Magdalene's encounter with the risen Lord
  • Discussion about the power of knowing Jesus intimately, beyond simply knowing about Him.

Welcome to the latest In the Red Podcast episode, where we discuss topics relevant to the Christian faith. In this episode, we have a special guest, Anthony Hart, who will be sharing his thoughts on a subject that he believes the church needs to hear. With the prevalence of the Facebook model in the world around us, we face challenging issues that require us to examine our beliefs and values.

One such issue is the recent shooting in Nashville, which has prompted many to ask what we, as Christians, think about such events. As we delve deeper into this topic, we will also explore the Sermon on the Mount and how Jesus attempted to establish a kingdom foundation. In Chapter 7:24, Jesus says, "Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." This is the foundation that he was trying to establish, to restore what he had given in the Old Testament and to set the table for those of us who don't have that initial invitation as a Jewish person to understand the currency and value of the kingdom.

Through this Sermon, Jesus is showing us how we can build a structurally strong and sound space so that we can do what He has called us to do. Join us as we explore the power of this Sermon and how it can help us navigate the challenges of today's world.

In last week's episode, we began talking about prayer and today we're going to talk about The Lord's Prayer. We talked about the posture of prayer last week about when we go into prayer and we talked about the purpose of the intimate place, the purpose of the secret place because it's when He establishes your personal, intimate space, which only amplifies the corporate space.

In our brokenness, we have it backward. We want to come and be amped up in the corporate space in hopes that that fires up our intimate space with Him, but it doesn't work like that.

God is so good. I had no idea. We've been in this, "Why Am I Here" sermon series?

It's a kingdom question that we should be asking ourselves constantly. If we're in a situation, if we're in a circumstance, if we have breath in our lungs and a beat in our chest, then we have a purpose in the kingdom of God.

We've been positioned for such a time as this, so it's the question we should always be asking. Today we're gonna talk about an intimate place. As I begin to think about it and God began to open up more in that space and gave me the final pieces I needed to say.

So we've been preaching from the Sermon on the Mount from Jesus, and we're in the space where He begins to talk about prayer - the Lord's prayer. It's one of the things we don't talk enough about, but then when we do, I feel like we don't talk deep enough and don't connect to the heart of what prayer is. So let's dive in!

Jesus had a posture of invitation in every moment. Even when He was griping at the Pharisees or the Sadducees, He was trying to invite them into the truth, but they couldn't see it even right in front of their eyes. He was not accusing, He was inviting.

The invitation is to come alongside and align with Him. Are you ready? Check your motives.

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Today I talked about the living in authority.

We have to understand there are two kingdoms at odds. There is the kingdom of heaven and there is the kingdom of this world. It is not flesh and blood, not people - it is the devil's kingdom.

Today, we are going to talk about how John is defining the differences. He's defining what the enemy's foundation is set upon. So it says, do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in them. We have to stand firm in His authority.

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Last week we talked about how we tend to sit in the slave or victim mentality.

This mentality is not holding on to you - you're still holding on to it. If we truly believe Jesus when He said, I came to set the captives free, then we would say, Jesus, I want you to unlock this chain. He unlocks the chain, but we just sit there, or we say, "Jesus, you're going to take the chain off?" And He is wondering why we don't remove it ourselves.

We get really good at wearing these handcuffs. I even bedazzle them to match my outfit. Some people even continue to wear the chains because they've become their armor, and they protect them from themselves and from others. You never allow the injured places to heal.

Are you ready to heal? Let's Go!

Today's episode is from a sermon I preached a few weeks ago and is part of the Why Am I Here series. Today I talked about how things are not what they seem.

First, you are not a victim. God said, the kingdom needs to know as a kingdom citizen, you're not a victim.

We're going to address the victim mentality. We're going to address the poverty mentality. And we're going to address the slavery mentality. I believe these are three things that the enemy has put on us to hold us back from being kingdom citizens and operating the way we've been called to do.

In the beautiful nativity story, we find a piece of the puzzle. The three wise men searching for Jesus and led by a star to a place that's foreign to them, to a country who has a king that they're in search of. A country that does even know the king yet exists. See, these are three wise men who are steeped in wisdom, maybe sorcery and mysticism from a place from the east, the Persian empire.  When the wise men showed up, when they sought out Jesus, he was already born, perhaps two years old by the time they found him.

What I want to focus on today in this sermon is that they were looking for him. I think there are people in the world around us today who are looking for Jesus, people who have searched for answers in all the wrong places. Enjoy this sermon with us today.

What if the hope that God will always be at the right place at the right time was limited? The hope that is supposed to help us endure and get through the struggles in our life, help us have purpose and passion with the things He's called us to do was limited by our reproach.

The definition of reproach is an occasion of shame, blame, or disgrace. Many times our hope is limited because it comes out of a broken situation. Our hope is tied to brokenness, so we can never truly operate in it. In today's episode, I talk about walking away from the brokenness in our lives, the places of shame, so that we can be difference makers in the Kingdom. Let's Go!

Affection is a word that has become closely related to love. In many cases it is the thing that decides whether we feel loved or not. Some of you know what I am talking about. If our spouse isn't being very affectionate towards us then we wonder if we feel loved. If we were raised in a home where affection was void, then feeling it for the very first time can almost be like a drug. What if this lack presents a space where we would do or search anywhere for it? Suddenly our definition of love has become limited to a feeling that we are constantly chasing and finding in all the wrong places.    Strap on your 80's mullet wigs because songs will be sung!! Value is a word that we seem to chase with everything we have got. Trying to be like someone else who is more successful or running from the things that have been done to us. Have you ever thought about how you talk to the people you talk to? For the most part, I feel like most people just assume that the person in the conversation with us should speak our language. After all, most of the people we converse with are of the same background as us. What if I told you that this was perhaps our most broken part of the communication process.   As a pastor, I have learned that I cannot just carbon copy what Jesus and others said in the Bible and make it a one size fits all response. If you are like me, I feel like I am stuck in a time loop. In the last few days, we have experienced another tragic school shooting that took the innocent lives of babies. We have experienced another fallout of a Christian denomination/church over the sexualy atrocities of pastors that were supposed to be caring for their congregation instead of feeding their sinful desires. In the midst of this, I am left to wonder, "How did we get here?"

I will warn you that this episode may just be some ramblings as I attempt to ponder this question. It is time to stop yelling, arguing, debating, and trying to push our agendas. When we slip up, are we defined by that? Have we been judged on a curve because of our past or because we are associated with a group of people who have let their character slip? As a pastor, there have been times that I have fallen into both of these groups. As individuals, we have to realize that building our character up is important as well as being consistent in it and not letting circumstances and situations deplete us. Every decision we make comes at a cost and we cannot allow our character to be the currency that we freely give away in order to get something quicker or win a battle against an opponent with questionable character.

This is the first sermon in our series: From Faith to Fruit. As Christians, we are not called to change people but rather to be the change. So why does it seem like we stand up and show out more than showing up and standing out?

In this episode, we take a journey back to the garden and begin the process of taking our faithfulness to fruitfulness. The key is not knowledge, but rather relationship. We are not called to instantly learn but to constantly lean.
