It’s Monday Lord, and I need you.
I’m standing here asking to be reminded of the tenderness your presence brings.
I don’t need to strive or push my way into your love.
You are waiting to enfold my heart in the truth, that I am being made into your
image of beauty and perfection with every surrendered yes towards you that comes
out of my weak lips.
Thank you for being kind, and patient with all the places of hesitation in my soul.
You are showing yourself to be the champion I have ached for my entire life.
Your faithful answers to my heart felt, desperate cries for help, teach me what it
means to be joined to you in agape love.
A love that reaches towards the lowly and raises them up.
Thank you that you will not break a reed that is bruised, nor will you stomp out a
flickering wick.
Help me to love others this way today. Gently, openly, and with transforming
compassion.
Help me to give to you every wrong done against me.
Every secret offense.
Every selfish ambition.
May I yield to the beautiful grace that surrounds my life, and rest in your
friendship.

It’s Monday Lord, and I need you.
I need you like the earth needs the rain falling outside of my window right now.
I need you to penetrate every dry and sorrow baked place in me.
I need you to quench the soul thirst in me. I need to hear the tender mercies drop like rain on the tin roof of my heart. Reminding me you are my shelter and my song.
The earth does not push against the falling rain
She opens and yields and surrenders to the downpour.
This is how I long for my soul to be to your presence Lord
Open, yielding and surrendered.
So, come sweet Spirit of God and soften me until puddles remain upon my surface
that reflect your golden rays.
Come rain down on the hidden and untouched places of my inner most being that have been thirsty for so long.
Come and be El Rohi, the God who sees me in my desert wandering.
I know I have only to speak to the Rock that follows my wanderings
So, I ask Lord.
Water from the rock.
Rain from the sky
Mercy like dew.
Supernatural supply for my very natural need.
Fall, like rain.

I need to hear the beat within my heart of your eternal rhythm of hope.

You remain constant in an ever changing sea of opinions
