Paul Goldsmith challenges the notion that being perpetually busy is a virtue. It means you have a lack of priorities. Paul shares his journey from working in an office to realizing the freedom of owning his own time as an entrepreneur.

Reclaim hours in your day through strategic planning and prioritization. The 8-hour workday culture, driven by corporate interests, keeps people in a state of dissatisfaction that fuels consumerism. Negotiate your time, prioritize self-care and your health!

Being fit and focused creates margin in your life. Everyone gets sick, or worse, at some point, which is exactly why it's critical to be proactive with your health and build up as much health margin as possible. Train every day like your life depends on it because it does.

In this thought-provoking episode, Paul Goldsmith chats with Dr. Jack Kruse, a neurosurgeon and CEO of the Kruse Longevity Center, about his perspectives on what’s wrong with American healthcare and how foundational to human health it is to respect light and dark cycles in human biology and start each day by seeing the sunrise.

Dr. Kruse asserts that 99% of conventional health and wellness knowledge is incorrect, blaming centralized science and its departure from nature for many health misconceptions.

The conversation delves into deep criticisms of centralized healthcare, the influence of big pharma, and the disconnection from nature as fatal errors in modern medical practices.

Dr. Kruse advocates for a decentralized approach to medicine, emphasizing a return to nature, and the importance of patient empowerment and informed consent.

In a decentralized system, doctors work directly for their patients rather than healthcare systems or insurers, thereby reducing conflicts of interest and fostering patient-centered care. People can take charge of their health by seeking knowledge and making informed decisions independent of the healthcare system’s influence.

The problem with centralized healthcare is its flawed incentive structure, where the profit motives of big pharma and medical device manufacturers overshadow patient health. Financial incentives in the healthcare system adversely affect patient care and outcomes.

Dr. Kruse also shares his experience writing a constitutional amendment in El Salvador, offering insights into how different cultures and systems approach healthcare.

Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life.

Paul Goldsmith delves into the complexities of making tough decisions and the importance of being true to yourself and your calling. Addressing the anxiety and uncertainty that often accompany difficult choices, Paul recommends focusing on what you truly want; rather than seeking external validation or trying to meet others' expectations.

Paul emphasizes the distinction between making choices for personal fulfillment versus those made to impress others or keep up appearances. What is considered "normal" is not optimal, like accumulating debt or conforming to unhealthy lifestyles. Rethink these norms and choose paths that align with your true self.

Live a life by design, using your unique talents and intentions to make meaningful contributions to the world. Have the courage to face discomfort and unpleasant emotions head-on.

What's your purpose? Why do you get out of bed in the morning? What drives you? It's a question that can seem daunting, but it's also one that holds the key to a life rich in meaning.

Prioritizing your purpose and doing purposeful work is your responsibility. No one is coming to do it for you. On this episode, Paul responds to @Lanaskitten on Twitter. She writes:

"I’m not jealous of rich people bc of the things they have, I’m jealous of rich people because they get to pursue their passions in life without having to work a grueling 40+ hours a week job literally just to get by.

my dream is to work in the film/TV industry (behind the cameras so screenwriting and directing) but that’s never gonna happen bc it’s not like I have connections or the money to produce my own film and I need to focus on a realistic long-term career goal:/ I do write as a hobby but it’s hard when you work a job where you’re on your feet all day and will be even harder once I start studying again (to go into a field which is achievable-I’m still interested in but obviously not as passionate about as film and fashion and writing).

Have you ever dreaded returning to the real world after vacation? Instead of using vacation to escape your life, use your next vacation or day off to upgrade your life. Go to someplace where you won't be interrupted and think about what's working and what's not working and decide what you're going to do about it. Take responsibility and DO WHAT IS REQUIRED TO HAVE THE LIFE YOU DESIRE: 1. Start by priming your brain ... what's great about your life? List the people and things you value the most because you'll want to reinforce and protect those things moving forward. 2. Then, make a list of all the things that aren't working in your life. And ask yourself, why? Do you need to set boundaries or have difficult conversations? Or maybe you just need to let go of wanting something you don't want enough to do what is required. 3. Identify which issues are within your control to change and which are not. If it's not in your control, let it go. Your mindset is within your control. If nothing changes, nothing changes. If you'd like a coach to help you get clarity on your next simple steps toward the life you desire, you can schedule a free discovery call with Paul Goldsmith here or send a text to 559-574-3210.

  2. Make Your Goal S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant to You, and Time-Bound) and upgrade it every 90 days.

What do you most regret?

Chances are, it's something you've not done.   When you're younger, you have equal amounts of regrets about things you've done and things you avoided doing.   As you get older, your inaction regrets outnumber your action regrets 2 to 1.   That's according to author Daniel Pink, in his book The Power of Regret.   Take the Next Simple toward learning from your regrets and having a bias for action.   The best way to learn most anything is by doing it. Everything is figureoutable. Just be okay with having a few regrets along the way.   As Pink suggets, to maximize our productive regrets: 1. Look inward: Reframe how you think about your regrets. You speak to yourself more cruelly than you speak to anyone else. Practice self-compassion.

2. Look outward: Share your emotions! Make sense of your regret through talking or writing morning pages.

3. Move forward: Extract a lesson from your regret. Take action!

If you'd like some encouragement or help taking action, send Paul a text at 559-574-3210.

What would you create if you were not afraid? It’s time to let go of our ego and create the things that we are inspired to create. Let go of worrying about the outcome, or worse, whether we'll get the approval of others.

In today’s episode we discuss how to stop comparing yourself to others. It’s very self-defeating to wake up every day comparing yourself to everyone else. Comparison truly is the thief of all joy. You are creative. You are worthy. You are human. You're free to be yourself and not worry about what everybody else thinks. There's no one like you and someone needs to hear what you have to say or what you have to create. Simone Biles said it best, “we’re not just entertainment, we’re humans.”

Are you thriving? Not just surviving, but truly thriving. On today's show, we pick up on the last conversation with a functional medicine doctor, Dr. Tim Caraher. We discussed what it means to have wellness in order to be more creative. Now, let's talk about what it means to go beyond basic wellness and to thrive.

At some point in everyone’s life, we ask ourselves, is this it? You may reach a point in which you feel you’re not thriving, but just existing. This blah feeling is called languishing - The neglected middle child of mental health can dull your motivation and focus. In a TedTalk from Dr. Corey Keyes, he mentions the antidote for the feeling of languish is to flourish.

Let's talk about how we critically think, as well as how to use the power of observation to analyze our own thinking to get clear on what we really want.

We are so quick to judge others but how often do we stop and think about our own motivation for our behaviors? As Marcus Aurelius said, “Whenever you’re about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question...What fault of mine most resembles the one I am about to criticize?”

Many times we make decisions based on poor assumptions provided by misinformation. It’s important to critically think about why we believe what we believe and why we are making the current choice. Don’t let someone else set the agenda for your creative goals.

Are you experiencing career FOMO? The truth is, we all will experience moments in our career where regret or disappointment take over.

In this episode, we discuss 3 ways to persevere through the mid-career crisis.

In this episode, we discuss 3 ways to increase the value of your business to better serve your customers. Take it from Vanilla Ice and Stop, Collaborate, and Listen.

  • STOP and think on the The Pareto Principle which states that roughly 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. Think about the 20% of activities that you can do to make a connection with your audience to get 80% of the results.
  • Get your audience to COLLABORATE with you. Find ways, such as social media, to get others to help serve and love your audience in the same way that you do. This will allow you to ultimately reach an even wider audience.
  • Truly LISTEN to what others have to say. Ask your audience what matters to them.
