many hearts are irreconcilably opposed to the word of the kingdom, but God is able to reconcile us to himself through the blood of Jesus.
Every holiday is a Memorial Day of sorts when we remember the night works of God among us. On Pentecost we remember how he has redeemed us and sends us out to share the good news.
Do not be surprised when suffering comes your way, Jesus also suffered. The real surprise is that he rose again and gives you the victory.
“If you love me you will keep my commandments” because we have received the spirit of truth, these words are a joy and encouragement to show our love for him who first loved us.

When is the end? The end is now but not yet. The end has come before and will come again. But when it comes straighten up and raise your head, for your redemption is drawing near.

When Jesus visits Mary and Martha both sister worship the Lord. One by service and the other by receiving, one thing is needed and will not be taken away.
The parable of the Good Samaritan shows that a neighbor is one who shows mercy, even as Jesus has shown mercy to us by taking personal responsibility for us and our sin, not with empty words but in deed and truth.
Jesus sends out the 72 with many challenges, but they are victorious because their names are written in heaven.
Jesus prayed that we may be one. In this world it would not appear that we are one, but we are in fact one because Jesus loves us.
The one seated on the throne said, “behold, I am making all thugs new.” But what does it mean for us to be new? What’s new becomes old and dies in this work, but Christ is risen from the dead. In them we are a new creation. In him the old becomes new. The dead are raised. Sinners are forgiven.

“Go tell the people all the words of this Life.” That is what the angel told the apostles when he sprung them from prison. What is ‘this Life’ the angel spoke of other than Jesus who is the resurrection and the life?
“Why do you look for the living among the dead?” That is what the angel asked the women when they came to Jesus’ tomb Easter morning. We look for life in all the wrong places, from fellow death bound sinners. But Christ is living and the giver of life.
With all the talk about the meaning of Christmas there isn’t as much focus on why it matters.
All four themes of Advent, hope, love, joy, and peace come from faith in Jesus. Hope is the expectation for the object of faith to be realized.
We read in the end of the Bible the victory of the Saints before the throne. The end is certain because Christ is risen yet we are in suspense until we get to the end ourselves.
“The truth will set you free” many things are true but cannot set you free. Only the truth that is the Word of God incarnate can and will set you free indeed.
Is it more difficult to fit a camel through the eye of a needle or a person to get into heaven? With man it is impossible, but not with God.
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. Is he good merely as a teacher of moral precepts written down in the law or as the only begotten of God?
Do have have trouble understanding the doctrine of the Holy Trinity? Welcome to the club. But if you can believe John 3:16 then you have already understood the doctrine of the Trinity.
“The scripture must be fulfilled.” What do we do while we wait in this time between Jesus’ ascension and his second coming.
“Abide in my love.” The church is the mother of God’s children in which we abide, are nurtured and grow in the love we have been shown in Jesus. Happy Mother’s Day!
We are all sheep, without exception. We are created beings and thus have a creator over us. It is in our nature to follow. The question is, who do we follow? Who is your shepherd? There is only one good shepherd that will lead us to life.
On the night he was betrayed Jesus instituted a new covenant in his blood. The title of this sermon is “was it worth it?”
Palm Sunday/Passion Sunday go hand in hand. “Hosanna” leads to “He is risen” because of his Passion...that is, Because Jesus suffered betrayal, humiliation, and death.
James and John had the guts to get the glory, but true glory is too heavy to bear. Jesus was was glorified through suffering, death, and rising again.
The good news is simple. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so too was the Son of Man lifted up, so that whoever believes in him would have eternal life. It’s the gospel on a stick.
Jesus cleanses the temple and many believed in him, but he didn’t believe in them because he knew what is in man. Lord Jesus, cleanse our hearts too that we may be temples for you, risen gloriously. Amen.
“Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.” You have been reconciled to God, through Jesus Christ, and He remembers your sin no more.
Haven’t you heard? Have you not seen? The Lord God is almighty in power and understanding, and He wields His might to save.
A sermon based on the third chapter of Jonah, after he had been swallowed and spit up. Salvation come by the grace of God, after death and resurrection. That’s the best part. God shows you mercy.
“I saw you under the fig tree” Jesus sees each of us and knows you deeply, wherever you are. And you see him lifted up on a cross to open the gates of heaven for all believers.
The echoes of Jesus’ Baptism resound throughout all of time, from the very beginning to this very day. You are baptized into Christ and echo his voice to others.
If you had one wish, what would you wish for? It will come to nothing. Today we explore what God wishes for us and has accomplished for us through his Son. It’s more than we could ever wish for.
You are not the Christ and cannot save yourself, so look to Jesus who is the Christ and he will give you life.
