Distraction comes to us easily, and being focused requires discipline. In this world of distraction, we will need to train and retrain our eyes to remain focused on the Lord.
The journey through this life can be dangerous. We need to be reminded (often) that the “Keeper of Heaven” is ready to help us every step of the way. May the Lord bless you as you walk with him this week!
It is time to rise and move from where we are to where God wants us to be. "We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us" - C.S. Lewis. Let’s Follow Jesus this summer!
New life through Jesus brings Refreshment and Reconciliation. A barrier to experiencing reconciliation with others can be a lack of repentance, a lack of restitution, or a lack of forgiveness.
Our world knows how to do brokenness. Jesus knows how to bring Repentance, Forgiveness, Restoration, and Reconciliation. Reconciliation is the beautiful fruit of true repentance and forgiveness. Jesus, let us experience more of this!
This world drains us. Jesus refreshes us. This world knows brokenness intimately. Jesus brings reconciliation continually.
Our world needs Good Moms! Good moms mimic the Living God as they prepare, protect and provide for their children.
It is both good and honest to admit that we do not have the power to meet all of this life's challenges. We need the Power of Heaven to live in this broken world. #thepoweroftheking #theresurrectionisnotdonewithus #heyharvest
Easter may be over… but the Resurrection of Jesus is Not Done with us. The work of Jesus continues to this day. As people put their faith n Jesus, they will want to follow him, obey him and identify with him. #theresurrectionisnotdonewithus #identifywiththeking #heyharvest
The presence of the Risen King changes everything. Each of us is meant to Explore, Experience and Enjoy the Risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
Many view Jesus’ life and ministry as a “waste” because of his death on the cross. It is true that Jesus "spent it all" (wasted his very life) to rescue and save us. Truth: The cross is bare and the grave is empty! Celebrate the Living Savior this week!
The Romans executed Jesus for his claim to be the King of the Jews. The Truth is that Jesus is not only the King of the Jews, but is the King of the whole world and Heaven. He displayed the Priorities of the King when he cleansed the temple. Embrace the Priorities of the King!
Our job is not to try change people, perform miracles or save the world… Jesus (alone) is the Savior! This allows us to rest in our role as his servants. Our mission - “do whatever he (Jesus) tell us to do. #thesignatureofjesus #dowhateverhetellsyou #jesusisbuildinghischurch #heyharvest
The Gospel (Good News) is the powerful Signature of Jesus given to each Christ follower. The world only has news... but the Christian has been given Good News!
Jesus Invites us to Pray. Jesus Instructed us on how to Pray. Jesus helps us to Pray. Let us Pray.
Read these words slowly - "All things are possible for one who believes.” This truth is central to Christianity: Belief in Jesus is what was saves us and sustains us. We believe Jesus is all powerful and completely personal and tender toward us at the same time! #thesignatureofjesus #believeinjesus
Repentance is dealing with our sin. Forgiveness is responding to being sinned against. Both require the Signature of Jesus on our lives in order to shine bright in a broken world.
A Follower of Jesus is someone who repents of their sin and places their faith in Jesus Christ alone. This not the end of repentance for a Christian; rather, it is just the beginning.
Life is a race and every race has a finish line. If you keep your eyes on the finish line, it will influence your decisions and urge you to live with perspective. Fear God and Obey him. #Ecclesiastes #findingmeaningunderthesun #runtothefinishline
Our world is chaotic… Common responses to the chaos are to either be frantic or paralyzed. The Holy Spirit is ready to help us respond differently. We can live intentionally and invest our lives wisely. It is time to live different! #ecclesiastes #findingmeaningunderthesun
People want to be remembered, but end up being forgotten by most. Jesus was forgotten by most, but perfectly remembers all who come to him.
Jesus is calling us to leave the past behind and to follow him. Let’s invite others to join us on this adventure.
Jesus extended the invitation to all kinds of people. It is simple. It is clear. It is Life Changing. He is now extending the call to us - Follow Me.
The Invitation from Jesus is clear. He wants ALL to come to him and find the rest that our souls crave.
Somehow these “wise guys” from the east made it all the way to Bethlehem to Worship Jesus the Christ. They didn’t have as much information as many others did, but they responded to the light they had been given. Many people focus on what the Magi gave to Jesus, but what they received from him was so much greater!
Love for the Weary -- We recognize that the world is and has been weary but we know that God loves the world and we can rest in knowing that there is Love for the Weary.
Our world knows weariness on a daily basis. Only followers of Jesus can experience real PEACE in the middle of the chaos. Experience the peace that only the Prince of Peace can offer. #thewearyworldrejoices #advent2021 #experiencethepeaceofjesus
Our world is a weary place filled with people who are exhausted and weary by multiple troubles. It is into this weary world that Jesus, the Savior came (for us). Take heart, there is HOPE! Give Jesus your weariness and he will give you his HOPE. #thewearyworldrejoices #advent2021
We all have questions in our hearts and minds as we walk through this life. The Living God acknowledges our questions and reminds us that he is not unaware or distant. He is ready to answer many of those questions and comfort us in the unanswered areas. #findingmeaningunderthesun #navigatinglifesquestions #ecclesiastes
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. - Proverbs 13:20. As you read Ecclesiastes chapter 7 - there is a Truckload Of Wisdom to be gained. #searchingformeaningunderthesun #exploreexperienceenjoy
There are some things in life that we need to avoid. Avoid careless words, careless worship and the love of money. There are some things in life that we need to embrace. Embrace God, his plan and the good gifts that he gives for our enjoyment. #lessismore
We run around and try & try & try & try to find something or someone to satisfy the longing in our hearts. King Solomon reveals that this will never lead to the satisfaction we seek. Only Jesus brings the satisfaction, joy and purpose to our lives. #Ecclesiastes #searchingformeaningunderthesun
The seasons of life are continually changing. We need Holy Spirit supplied discernment to understand the times and know what we ought to do.
People in every culture are searching for meaning in life. We search for it in achievement, relationships, possessions but it continually feels illusive. Jesus revealed that meaning and life are found in him. He is where meaning is found under the sun. #searchingformeaningundersun #questionsfromecclesiastes
Following Jesus can be hard and we are continually being tempted by the distractions of this world. We will need the Holy Spirit’s power keep our eyes on Jesus and to boldly follow him.
Before Jesus went to the cross, we were on his heart. More specifically, we were in his prayers. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed for himself, his disciples and those who would believe (that’s us)! Discover what Jesus prayed for you - it’s important! #heyharvest #Jesusprayedforus
We all love comfort in life, we look for it everywhere we go. Getting Uncomfortable does have a distinct benefit. God often uses discomfort to stretch and grow into who he wants us to be. #getuncomfortable #heyharvest
This life is a race. We are to look back and be inspired by the Old Testament saints who have completed their race. We are to run the race Christ has marked out for us and we are to look up and fix our eyes on Jesus, he is the finish line. #runningtherace #Hebrews #heyharvest
Knowing the right answer and applying the truth of God’s word can be world’s apart. Jesus intends for us to love him and to love others through the power of the Holy Spirit… Jesus help us! #lovelikeasamaritan
To Your Marks, Set… Exodus has felt a little like the Olympics with so much happening in a short period of time. The final chapter brings the completion of the Tabernacle, the anointing, and finally the Glory of God descending and filling the tabernacle with his presence. Remember this is recorded for us in order that we would know how to live. #lessonsfromtheexodus #learninghowtolive #forwardwithchrist
Text: Exodus 34:1-35
Summary: Exodus 34 is God’s autobiography. The Living God will reveal his person and character with stunning clarity. When we understand who he is, we can discover who we are and how to live free. #lessonsfromtheexodus #learninghowtolive
Text: John 3:16-21
Summary: There is real darkness in this world. Slavery and trafficking are real and the evil one is actively recruiting to this sinfulness. Good News - the light of Jesus is more powerful than the darkness. #stoptraffickingproject
When we decide to do what we want vs. what God wants… there will be Trouble. When we find ourselves in “Trouble”, we will need intercession, forgiveness and correction. #weareintrouble #learninghowtolive
We all have skills and abilities given to us from the Living God. He expects that we would use these skills and abilities to honor him and bless people around us. #useyourskillsforchrist #learninghowtolive #lessonsfromtheexodus
Israel's High Priest was attired intentionally to reveal God’s glory and beauty. Today, every follower of Jesus is declared as part of God’s royal priesthood. As representatives of the Living God we are to be clothed in kindness, compassion, forgiveness and love.
Worship is extremely important. Worship is absolutely necessary. Worship is Essential! As we Learn How to Live, God reveals that his intention is to be at the center of our lives each and every day. #Worshipessentials #Learninghowtolive #Lessonsfromtheexodus
In the book of Exodus, chapter 24 we are allowed to see a meeting between the leaders of Israel and the Living God on Mt. Sinai. The Good News for us is that we no longer have to scale a mountain in Saudi Arabia to meet with God. The Holy Spirit dwells in every follower of Jesus.
Our God leads us like a Shepherd. He is out in front of us, showing us the way to go. He walks with us, comforting and helping us along the way. He comes behind us, providing us with protection. The Lord is leading us to a secure and wonderful destination that he has prepared for us. #wehaveabrightfuture #learninginghowtolive #lessonfromtheexodus
There are things in life that are ok to forget (i.e. trivia, old phone #’s, etc). Then, there are IMPORTANT matters that guide, direct and change our lives. The instructions of the Living God are IMPORTANT because they are literally Words to Live By. #learninghowtolive #lessonsfromtheexodus
When our relationship with the Living God is prioritized, he will help us to handle the relationships around us in an honoring manner. We are meant to serve and protect our fellow man. Lord help us to love our neighbors. #learninghowtolive #lessonsfromtheexodus
God wants to be prioritized in our lives and in our worship. He is not just another option on the shelf of “gods”. Our God is preeminent, supreme, the ONLY God and when we get that right he will help us to relate and navigate the world around us. #learninghowtolive
The 10 Commandments are not just a list of “Do’s” and “Dont’s”. They reveal who God IS. Our God is not interested in burdening his people with a host of religious rules. God’s heart is to teach us how to live as Free People. #learninghowtolive #lessonsfromtheexodus
The Easter Holiday may be over for this year the but the Resurrection power of Jesus is not gone and unwilling to be “shelved”. Be Filled with the Holy Spirit and let him touch every area of you life in the every day. #nowwhat #resurrectionpower
The Resurrection of Jesus calls for a response. There are a number of ways that the disciples of Jesus responded on the day of the resurrection. Let’s learn from those first disciples and honor the Risen Savior. #respondingtotheresurrection
The cross planted on the hill outside of the city of Jerusalem served as a super magnet drawing people from every tribe, tongue, language and nation. Today, Jesus is extending the invitation and drawing people into his family and church. #Jesusthemagneticking #cometomeallwhoarewearyandheavyladen
Putting God in his rightful place as Lord of your life brings the promise that he can and will handle the rest of life’s details. Faith in Christ is what should be our first priority. #seekfirstthekingdomofgod
Redemption. Requirement. Reward. Our God Redeems us out of slavery to sin, then he teaches us how to live as free people (his requirements) and amazingly rewards us as we obey him. #forwardbyfaith
All Good Leaders are Learners. In order to keep leading we must keep learning. This is God’s beautiful plan for his people, he wants us to grow deeper in love and obedience to him. #growingdeep #forwardbyfaith
We grumble. We complain. We quarrel. Unlike us, Jesus rescues, restores and refreshes. Read the account in Exodus 17 and see for yourself that the description of Jesus and us is so very accurate. #rockofrefreshment #forwardbyfaith
We all hunger and thirst at a a soul level. We grumble and complain when God doesn’t give us what we want. The Living God doesn’t always give us what we want but he makes sure to give us what we truly need. Jesus alone satisfies the hunger in our souls. #forwardbyfaith
How we respond to the good things in our life has a lot to do with our faith. How we respond to the bitter things in our live has a lot to do with our faith. The challenge is to be able to maintain a forward moving faith by living in obedience and constant awareness of the need to worship the God of both the blessing and the testing.
There are many things in this life that can cause us to fear. Then, fear can cause us to panic or experience paralysis. Christians need regular reminders that our God is greater than all and that he is calling us follow him forward by faith. #faithoverfear #feardrownsoutfear #nolongerslavestofear #forwardbyfaith
The commonly walked paths in life are either the popular way of culture or the way that I personally determine. Good News! - These are not the only options… God’s Way is A Better Way. His way leads life, freedom, growth and transformation. Choose A Better Way! #Abetterway #forwardbyfiath #lessonfromtheexodus
Freedom is a fundamental desire found in every human heart. The Passover foreshadowed the greater work and greater freedom that Christ would secure through his death and resurrection. You were meant to be free! #freeatlastfreeatlast #thankGodAlmighty

In the year 2020, a virus that looks like it is wearing a halo under the electron microscope was given a crown to rule over culture. In 2021, it is time to move out of “reactionville” and follow Jesus the only One that is truly fit to wear the Crown.
Will Jesus still love me when I get it wrong? Can Jesus love a deeply broken person? Is Jesus willing to love us back to health and wholeness? The answer is Yes, Yes & YES! The Love of Jesus is greater than All! #Advent2020peaceonearth #LOVErenewal #hopepeacejoylove
Christians should be the Most JOY-Full people on the planet. We still face the same difficulties and hardships with the rest of humanity… Yet, we have the Savior, Jesus Christ, the Father in Heaven and the Holy Spirit. These kids will be reading the Christmas story from the Story Book Bible for our services on Dec. 13, 2020. Here are a few of their favorite Christmas things.
Life is filled with hardship and hurt. Some days, it can feel as if there is no hope… GOOD NEWS of GREAT JOY - the hope of heaven came down and He always exceeds our expectations! #peaceonearth #advent2020
The purpose of the plagues was to reveal the power of God and proclaim his name to the nations. Let his power be made know to you, then be found in you by faith and displayed through you. #thepowerofGodondisplay #emergelessonsfromtheexodus
The Living God's power was made clearly visible through the plagues that he unleashed on Egypt. The plagues were not the greatest display of his power. Our forgiveness was the greatest display of his power when he defeated Satan, Sin and Death. #ourGodispowerful #powerdisplayedthroughplagues #powerdisplayedthroughforgiveness
We all long for comfort when life is harsh and the struggle is real. The comfort that we are seek is only found in a relationship with Jesus. Experience the Comfort of the King today!
Don’t get caught off guard, following Jesus is not always easy and there will be resistance from the opponent (the Devil). When things are hard, turn toward the Savior instead of away from him. #resistanceisreal #emergelessonsfromtheexodus
As Christians we are meant to move forward by faith. It may not always be pretty or fast, but every step of obedience is important.
We tend to Argue, make Excuses and be down right Stubborn. In contrast, the Savior, Jesus Christ didn’t argue, make excuses or resist the will of the Father in Heaven. Jesus obediently and willingly came to Rescue, Deliver and Save! #emergelessonsfromtheexodus
Arguments tend emphasize one point - “I Know Better Than You”! Many people argue against the Living God, and do not realize that he is for us! Listen and learn from Moses as he argues with God and his plan to use Moses for his purposes. #arguingwithGod #lessonsfromtheExodus
Academics are important… but they do not make a person a person wise. One of the traits of a follower of Jesus is that we should be humble and teachable people. God helped Moses to become teachable and he can help us.
Our world is crying out for someone to deliver us from anger, hatred, racism, crime and all forms of wickedness. The mighty God continues to raise up advocates and deliverers to protect and rescue because he is the ultimate deliverer!
Faith seems is easy to put on display when times are good and easy. When times are difficult, hard and down right Bad… this is the time to exercise Bold Faith!
We are living in challenging times… and to many this feels like a gross understatement. Christians across the globe are called to persevere when times are hard and the Lord is ready to help us! #remember #remembertopersevere
The Kingdom of Heaven “flipped” the rules of this world. Jesus walked on water and because of Jesus, Peter walked on water with him. He is calling us to follow him no matter the storm that rages. Fix your eyes on Jesus. #remember
We are forgetful people, who need regular reminders of God’s faithfulness, power and love. He has given us his Holy Spirit, the Scriptures and each other’s testimonies as Monuments to help us to Remember and Celebrate him. #remembertheSavior #wearelivingmonuments
We are forgetful people. We forget important things and remember trivial matters. God knew this about us and helps us to Remember him. We are to Know him, Love him, Talk about him and be Proactive in reminding ourselves of him. #lestweforget #rememberthelord
Our lives are filled with Stories. What is the most important story of your life? The Gospel and our response to it can be THE Story of your life.
At the close of the letter to the Romans we are given a clear warning and then directed to the Grace of God. Honor is given to honor is due and finally God is given the Glory he alone deserves. This letter has had profound impact on our church and we look forward to seeing fruit from our study for years to come.
We are meant to dream, set goals, make plans and live for Jesus. At the same time we are to hold our plans loosely and submit them to Jesus for review. God has more to accomplish in us and through us. #everydaychristianity #greaterthingsforChrist
Our culture and world do not know how to "come together". We get polarized on issues and with each other very quickly. Good News - this is not how Jesus operates. He knows how to knock down barriers and help us move Forward Together. #everydaychristianity
Unity in the church doesn't just happen. It takes a lot of Spirit-filled hard work! We are meant to Bear with one another and Build one another Up. Jesus did it and he can help us to do it as well. #everydaychristianity
We are entitled to our opinions. Christians will have differing opinions. When we differ on opinions we are not grieve or destroy other Christians over areas of liberty. We are to choose to love people over our personal preferences. #everydaychristianity
Christians will have disagreements. A great statement to help guide us when disagreeing on debatable issues is: “In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In all things Love”. #christiansworkingthroughdisagreement
It is not time to be lazy and lax in following Jesus. It is time to wake up, cast off the darkness (sin) in our own lives, put on the armor of God and walk with Jesus Every Day. Let’s wake up, Love God and Love people. #wakeupandwalkproperly #heavenisnear
You and I will always have authority in our lives. Those who cannot live under authority are guaranteed pain and hardship. God instituted human government to reward good and to restrain sin in an evil, fallen world. #everydaychristianity #livingunderauthority
By receiving the free gift of salvation and forgiveness through grace, we enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our relationship with Jesus will impact every relationship we encounter including ourselves, other Christians, non-believers and even our enemies. #truechristianty #everydaychristianity
Jesus has graciously brought us into his family (the body of Christ). He has graciously given us Spiritual Gifts to serve him, one another and our world. If we will humble ourselves and use our gifts… it will change us and our culture. #humblechristians #giftedchristians #servingchristians
Jesus gave his life for us, we are to surrender our lives to him. To be in a place of continual and willing surrender is to be a Living Sacrifice.
God’s Grace is both Kind and Severe. He loves lost, disobedient, rebellious people with a kindness that defies our logic. Yet, he will not abide with pride and unbelief. The more one studies God’s Grace the more riches and beauty you will discover.
Karma is a religious thought system of cause and effect. It is an “Election” year and that means that people are going to be asked to “choose” a candidate to vote for. God is the author of Election and before this world was formed he “chose/elected” to rescue and save undeserving people. He is not under obligation to save anyone and the fact that he does is Pure Grace! #puregrace #Godsplanwillprevail
It is easy to lose compassion for others when you are going through a hard time or have just emerged from a hard time. This is when we call upon the Savior to help us to have a heart like his. Remember, that it is Pure Grace that any of us get to enjoy God’s forgiveness and blessing.
You’ve got questions and the Scriptures have answers… i.e. Can anything separate me from the Love of God? Absolutely Not!! - Not even Covid-19! Stay strong church!! #theHolySpiritcannotbequarantined #thechurchcannotbeovercome #weneedwisdom
This passage brings great comfort to Christians around the world and this passage has brought confusion for Christians around the world. In the middle of the tension between comfort and confusion we will find perspective, purpose and the process that God will use to bring about Good!
Nature…Creation itself is groaning due to the effects of sin in our world. Christians are groaning as we wait for God to set everything right and deliver us from the presence of sin. The Holy Spirit is groaning as he intercedes for believers before our Father in Heaven.
When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit makes his home in us. He brings the power and expertise of Heaven to an Extreme Home Makeover into the life of every Christian. We are not just a minor remodel job… the Savior has big plans for each of his children! #iamachildofGod #deadtosin #Ihaveresurrectionpower #thegreatestchapterinthebible
To be declared not guilty is powerful and freeing, especially if your life is on the line. Every person who is found “IN” Jesus Christ has been declared not guilty and free to Live in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Christians wonder why they still struggle with sin… it is because the power of sin is broken but the presence of sin in our world is very real. This means there is a war that rages between our “flesh” and the Spirit of God. Good News! The Spirit of God is Greater than our sin! #understandingthestruggle #theSpiritofGodisGreater
Religion and the law is always spelled “D-O”! It means doing, doing, doing in an attempt to earn God’s favor. Gospel is always spelled “D-O-N-E”! It is totally dependent on the finished work of Jesus. Christians are Free to serve Jesus from grateful hearts instead of obligation. #ReligionisspelledDO #Gracetriumphsoverthelaw #Heyharvest

The Bad News is that sin has created a massive canyon between humanity and God. The GOOD NEWS is that Jesus has made a way for us to be Saved, Justified and Redeemed. #JesusistheBridge #RomansFoundationsofFaith #Romans #heyharvest

The Good News of salvation is even more pronounced when we properly understand the bad news about our sin. What are we to do when our faith and our culture are in opposition to one another? The book of Daniel chapter 3 reveals how to live for God with confidence without being cocky or caving in. Real Life is filled with real pressures. We ask God to take the stress and pressure away but God often chooses to use pressure for his purposes. May the Lord give us the RESOLVE of heaven to live for him right here and now, while under pressure.
Why should we value relationships, work and rest? It is simpler than you think… We are to value all of these things BECAUSE God does! As we embrace God’s design for us, we will begin to enjoy relationships, work and rest all the more. #workatrest #heyharvest
What are we here for? You may have asked yourself that question and struggled to find an answer. In the Parable of the Ten Minas Jesus shows us that we are here to use whatever God has given us to work with, whatever talents that we posses, for His Glory. It doesn’t happen by chance, we have to make bringing Glory to God our life's goal and strive to honor God with everything we have. #toGodbetheGlory #parablesofJesus #summersermonseries #heyharvest
We have this tendency to compare ourselves to everyone around us and our natural inclination is to think everybody else has it easier than we do. But Jesus reminds us in the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard that God in His generosity has promised us He will give us more than we ever deserve, His peace, His hope, His love, His presence, and regardless of what life throws at us, He is not slow in keeping His promises.
Are you ready? Your answer to this question will either leave you feeling confident and peaceful or send you scrambling to get ready. With planning and prepping we might be prepared for a flood or fire or the ups and downs of the stock market, but there’s a day coming when Jesus will come back for His bride and the only way to be ready is to live our lives like it could be today!
Sin, Shame, and Self-righteousness are all things that can make us feel like we are separated from God. The parable of the Prodigal Son reminds us that no matter how far we move away from God, when we turn towards Him, He will close the gap and bring us back to Him.
Self-esteem, Self-confidence, Self-sufficient, Self-reliant. all ideas that are considered positive personality traits in our world, and they are good things, but the catch is they all start with self and this can give us a distorted perspective. In the Kingdom of God all the confidence, all the sufficiency, all the reliance, rest on God alone. With that perspective, with our hope resting firmly in God’s character, we’re freed to live for His Honor and His Glory, which is our divinely crafted purpose.
Somebody is always trying to sell us something, always telling us that they have what we need to be satisfied. Everything from cars to french fries are guaranteed to bring us contentment and fulfillment. In the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Price, Jesus tells us the Kingdom of God is the only thing worth pursuing, the only thing that can deliver what everything else is promising.
Sometimes in our fast-paced microwave society we forget that the Kingdom of God doesn’t instantly manifest itself in our lives, it takes time, and involves a process, but it always produces a harvest. Jay Fast from Fusion reminds us what that looks like from Jesus’ parable of the growing seed. Fusion is a short-term missions experience that strategically partners churches in North America with churches in Latin America for the purpose of multiplying healthy, disciple-making student ministries.
We don’t usually start a trip without knowing where we’re headed, but God will sometimes ask us to start a journey and trust that He knows where we need to be. Our ministry partner Russ Tuttle from the Stop Trafficking Project challenges us to trust God’s leading even when we can’t see the where He’s taking us.
Unlike our friends or family or the world around us, Jesus doesn’t put any limits on when or how often we can come to Him. When we invite Jesus into our lives and let Him lead, He invites us, actually He commands us, to come to Him continually.
What you believe will drive what you do. We can do all the right things, but if our beliefs are misplaced, we end up just wearing ourselves. Jesus tells us to believe in Him and then let that belief fuel what we do for His Glory.
The world we live in says "the one with the most stuff, wins" but Jesus has a different standard for us to live by. The stuff we accumulate here on this earth always over-promises and under-delivers. It can't provide any lasting peace, comfort, or substance, because our "stuff" is temporary. Let's hold on loosely to the things of this world and hold on tightly to the Savior.
Following Jesus is not for the flakey or the faint of heart. Jesus would urge us to count the cost (upfront), which will separate the many casual followers from the committed followers. Be a leader and get ready to follow. #parablesofJesus #summersermonseries
Jesus brings his most famous sermon to close with a simple and powerful parable. We will not be able to see at first glance whether someone is Wise in God’s eyes or foolish. The Foundation of a person’s life will be exposed when the storms of life beat against them. Build your life on a relationship with Jesus!

Ask, seek, and knock. Jesus invites us to bring everything to Him. He also promises to answer when we call. When we do, we can learn to be content no matter what we are walking through. #askseekknock #Hisstrengthnotmine #trusttheLord #ReTRAIN #sermononthemount

Anxiety is real and it’s reach is global… but there is help and hope for every Christian. We all want to be happy… we wired by our creator to desire happiness. Unfortunately, we continually get our wires crossed and look for happiness outside of the Kingdom of God. Glory to Jesus, he willing showed us where happiness is found and how to be happy. #RETRAIN #sermononthemount
All of the planets in our solar system orbit and receive light and heat from the center, which the sun. As we begin a New Year it is a great time to assess our priorities. As we think about what is "most important”, it is good and right to ask Jesus what is “most important” to him. His answer may surprise you but it definitely will encourage you. #happynewyear2019 #kingdompriorities
Jesus was filled with Grace and Truth. We will need him to fill us with both Grace and Truth continually to be able love people and navigate the ever changing landscape of life. #whatchildisthis #graceandtruth
Our world is a hostile place. We are hostile toward one another and we are hostile toward God. What can bring us the peace we so desperately need? Heaven would have to make a peace offering. The King of Heaven would need to make peace through gifting us his son. Now, there can be Peace on Earth. #whatchildisthis #peacechild #advent2018
The name Immanuel was first spoken by the prophet Isaiah and means “God with us”. Whatever you are facing today, remember that Jesus is present and that he is still Immanuel! #whatchildisthis #childofwonder #Immanuel
The Bible gives us permission to get a “sneak peek” at what the Savior, Jesus would be like through introducing us to forerunners (types) like Moses. When you see Moses, a child drawn out of obscurity and used to deliver a multitude of people from slavery… it is just a glimpse of what Jesus would do for the whole world! #whatchildisthis #childoffreedom #followJesus #Advent2018
Answering the question, “What Child Is This” from the classic Christmas carol has powerful implications. Answer it correctly and find life, joy and peace. Honor is a gift that is both personal and potent. For the Christian, honor may be delayed in this life but because of Jesus it will never be denied. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and at the proper time he will exalt (honor) you. #honorbound #Esther #differencemaker
Difference Makers must be humble and wise. Only the Holy Spirit working through the life of a follower of Jesus can bring true humility and wisdom. Pride and idolatry have no place in the life of a Difference Maker. Let Jesus change you! #Esther #DifferenceMaker
Following Jesus will require Courage and Bravery that only Jesus himself can give. Many times Jesus will raise up leaders by allowing them to go through difficult circumstances. We don’t love the hurt and the hardship but we love a Brave Difference Maker. #Esther #DifferenceMaker
Heroes & Villains are not just found in comic books and on the silver screen. Our lives are effected every day by those who value life and truth vs. those who only value themselves and their selfish agenda. The world is captivated by “Beautiful People”… Actors, Actresses, Musicians and Artists have a way of capturing our attention. Queen Esther reveals to us that Beauty is given from the Lord. Real Beauty is not external; rather, it the transformation of people who have had the “ugliness” of sin removed in order to reflect the Savior. #Esther #DifferenceMaker
When the “Rug gets pulled out” from under us in life… we will need some Difference Makers by our side. Take comfort that the Ultimate Difference Maker (Jesus, King of Heaven) has promised that he will never leave us nor forsake us. #Esther #Differencemaker
The world is desperate for positive “Difference Makers”! The ultimate Difference Maker was Jesus, the Son of God who entered into history to offer forgiveness, hope and life to flawed people. We all need Difference Makers in our lives and the Holy Spirit can help us to become Difference Makers for others. #Esther #DifferenceMaker
Christians and Churches are to go Deep in their Love, Understanding and Obedience to Jesus. Christians and Churches are to go Wide with the Gospel and Love of Jesus to wherever God takes them. Let’s pray and ask God to take us Deep and Wide as a Church this fall! #DeepandWideatHarvest #DeepandWidefall2018
When Flawed people “fumble the ball” and sin it will effect others. Sin creates conflict between people and must be addressed in a Godly manner. This will require identifying the issue and then resolving it with humility through repentance and forgiveness.
The night before the crucifixion, Peter denied Jesus publicly three times . For most people this would have been the end of the relationship. The amazing news is that Jesus not only forgives flawed people… he also restores and recommissions.
Moses was just as flawed as any of us; yet, the bible says that the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11). God even used Moses to perform the greatest miracles of Moses’ time and deliver the Israelites from the Pharaoh’s grasp. It would seem that God willingness to communicate with us and use us for His plans has very little to do with our worthiness, but a great deal to do with His love for us. #flawedandloved #Gospelchange #HisPOWERnotmine
Erik Mickelson leads us through the life of Solomon for inspiration as we strive to honor God and a cautionary tale to keep us focused on God's directions. A reminder to Listen and Obey God, Love our Bibles and Fear God as our Perfect Father. No matter how deeply flawed we are, God's deep LOVE for us can transform us for His Glory.
We must embrace two truths simultaneously. First, we (all of us) are deeply Flawed by sin. Second, we (all of us) are deeply Loved by God. Understanding and embracing these two truths will lay the foundation for real change. #flawedandloved #Gospelchange
