Qualities of a good astrologer are well defined in Astrology. A good astrologer is one who has the required astrology qualifications. Our Horoscope is a sacred document. It is a gateway into our life. It can reveal everything about us to someone who has required astrologer skills. We should stay away from anyone who does not have the prescribed astrology qualities.

What Qualifications do you need to be an astrologist? 🌾

In important life matters viz. marriage prediction, career prediction etc., we want the best astrologer. Some people go for the most popular astrologer. Whether he or she is a genuine astrologer is not their concern. They justify this by saying, “Since I need a good astrologer, I am ready to pay hefty amount for it as well. Money becomes secondary if I am getting the most accurate astrologer.” But, what if the so-called best astrologer didn’t have good astrologer qualities ?

Many of the practitioners don't know how to become a successful astrologer. There is a mad rush to become the most popular astrologer. As per fundamentals of Vedic Astrology, one who is a good astrologer will never fall in this mad race. Hindu Astrology is not a business or a commercial enterprise. It is a divine spiritual subject which has well laid down guiding principles.

One of the foremost qualities of a good vedic astrologer is that she or he should be a 'student for life'. There can never be a complete or accomplished "astrologer" in this World. Astrology is a body of knowledge spanning over five thousand years. It is not possible to have that knowledge in one life. Humble acceptance of this fact is one of the qualities of a good astrologer.

Thus, qualities of a professional astrologer are like that of a good student. A famous Sanskrit sloka says-

Kaak Chesta, Bako Dhyanam, Shwan Nidra, Tathaiv Cha

Alpahari, Grahtyagi, Vidyarthi panch lakshanam

काक चेष्टा, बको ध्यानं, श्वान निद्रा तथैव च |

अल्पाहारी, गृहत्यागी, विद्यार्थी पंच लक्षणं ||

Meaning:

A student should have these five qualities –

Efforts like a Crow,
Concentration and Focus like a Swan,
Sleep patterns like a Dog,
Light-eater as per need and
Detachment from Home Issues.

Qualities of a good astrologer as per the Sages:

The great Sages of the Indian Vedic Culture gave clear parameters for an astrologer. In the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, the very first Chapter talks about this. The Great Maharshi Parashara while interacting with his disciple Maitreya states-

शान्ताय गुरूभक्ताय सर्वदा सत्यवादिने |

आस्तिकाय प्रदातव्यं ततः श्रेयो ह्यवाप्सयति ||

न देयं परशिष्याय नास्तिकाय शठाय वा |

दत्ते प्रतिदिनं दुःखं जायते नात्र संशयः ||

Shantayay Gurubhaktaya Sarvada Satyavadiney |

Astikayay pradaatvyayam tatah shreyo Hyavapasyati ||

Na Deyam Parshishyaya Nastikaya Shathaya Va|

Datte Pratidinam Dukham Jayate Naatra Sanshayah ||

(Ver. 7 & 8, Chap.-1, Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, Vol.1)

Meaning -

Maharshi Parashara prescribes characteristics of a student of Astrology which should be that-

I. The student should be peaceful within.

II. The student should honour the teachers and elders

III. The student should always strive to speak the truth.

IV. The student should be God-fearing.

Parasara also prohibits teaching of Astrology to unwilling students, crafty and cunning persons.

Based on the above four, we can make certain conclusions. Any practitioner of Astrology cannot be peaceful from within if she/he is money minded. An astrologer earning commissions by prescribing gemstones is not true to the subject. It is unethical, if the astrologer paddles fear in us so that we can pay money for pujas. Asking people to donate to temples and taking kick backs out of such donation is immoral.

Test before You Trust:🌾

Please do not pay or share birth details with any astrologer before doing homework. Do assess the astrologer on the above mentioned qualities of a good astrologer. Also be clear about what are good questions to ask an astrologer.

Astrology is a spiritual and divine subject. It is a powerful guiding and decision-making tool devised by the Great Sages for the humanity. It helps us to manoeuvre the planetary energies influencing us so that we can suffer better in life.

So which astrologer is best? 🌾

The answer is relative. There can never be a ‘best astrologer’. But, the above mentioned qualities are a must in any genuine astrologer. The sages have spelled out good astrologer definition as already mentioned above.

The student or practitioners of Astrology should function within a robust ethical framework. They should respect good astrology questions and address them. In this age of Consumer rights, we all should be aware of the qualities of a good astrologer. The quacks and charlatans posing as astrologers should not take us for a ride.

Discussions on a horoscope is a divine spiritual activity. For any spiritual activity, invoking Ganesha is divine and auspicious. The Maha Ganesh Mantra Prayer removes mental obstacles and negative energies around us. Invoking Ganesha before reading horoscopes is a divine practice. If you are comfortable in Hindi, the article on how to chant or listen to Mantras will be helpful.

Let's keep the above mentioned qualities of a good astrologer in the back of our mind. Further, we should invoke Ganesha by listening to the Maha Ganesh Mantra Prayer. Only after these two safeguards, we should approach an astrologer for readings.

Astrology and Spirituality, both touch our lives in unseen ways. We often, unknowingly, use both Astrology and Spirituality in different life situations. This leads us to wonder if Astrology and Spirituality are same or if Astrology is a part of Spirituality.

What is Astrology? 🪴

Astrology involves studying planetary energies and their impact on life. Many of the believers claim that Astrology is a science. It can make predictions through analysis of planetary influence on individuals. It can define intricacies of human personality. There are others who believe that Astrology is nothing more than a pseudoscience. Many Scientists believe that Astrology does not pass the test of falsifiability. But, there are also Scientists who tried to make statistical models in Astrology. Psychologist Carl Jung has done a lot of work in Astrology. His works led to the emergence of ‘Psychological Astrology’ or ‘Astropsychology’.

Whether Astrology is science or a pseudoscience is an interesting and lengthy debate. We will discuss this in a separate article.

What is Spirituality? 🪴

There is no settled definition of the term ‘Spirituality’ or 'Spiritualism'. For some, Spiritual is another word associated with religion, God or anything divine. While, some scholars say spiritual is the opposite of faithless or godless. For some others, spiritual is philosophy that subsumes esoteric thoughts and ideas. There are a few scholars who believe that being spiritual is freedom from bondage of our own biases.

William James in his book ‘The Varieties of Religious Experience’ defines Spirituality. He says it is a feeling or experience that a person has in solitude in relation to what he or she considers as ‘divine’. There is an element of ‘faith’ in the ‘divine’. James gives individual the freedom to define what is ‘divine’ for her or him. Taking this view, the meaning of being spiritual is ‘personal’ to the individual. We can't define this in general terms.

Thus, spiritual meaning involves various complex definitions from various school of thoughts. It is not easy to give a simple straight forward universal definition for this.

Difference between Astrology and Spirituality 🪴

From the definitions above, we can see that Astrology and Spirituality are different. Spirituality is about ‘Self’ and the ‘inner being’. Astrology is about the ‘Planets’ and its influence on the being. Astrology involves mathematical calculations of planetary movements. While there is no such ‘Ganita’ or mathematics in the field of Spirituality. Astrology emphasize calculations in Ganita Jyotish. 'Phalit Jyotish' involves Intuitive as well as deductive analysis of these calculations. Further, we see Astrology as a subject associated more with prognosis and predictions. But, Spirituality is seen as a way of living. It focuses on mind, body and soul and their interactions with the cosmic energies.

We all have good qualities (devatas) and bad qualities (asuras) within us. In Spirituality, the ultimate goal is to merge with self. All 'good' and 'bad' within us looses its distinction and becomes part of 'Self'. Astrology defines nature of planets in a spiritual manner. In Astrology, there are no good or bad planets. The planetary nature is defined as 'Saumya' (gentle) or 'Kroor' (cruel). Thus, there are many grounds that create difference between Astrology and Spirituality.

So, is Astrology considered Spiritual? YES. There is one profound similarity between Astrology and Spirituality. Both the subjects associate themselves with an element of ‘divine’. This ‘divine’ could be in the form of God or Planets or Nature or the Elements or even the Self or the Atma.

Due to this, Astrology and Spirituality connection can be termed as intricate. Many researchers in Astrology are now studying Astrology and Spirituality together. This has given rise to ‘Astro Spirituality’ or ‘Spiritual Astrology’. In Astrology, analysis of horoscopes always rested on a spiritual platform. Complete horoscope analysis is a way to examine the horoscope from three angles. The first is through Lagna which reflects reality. The second is from Arudha Lagna which shows the societal rating of a real event in individual's life. The third is through Grah Arudha that reflects the individual's take on a real event.

Astrology and Spiritual Awakening 🪴

Astrology tries to study the impact of planetary energies on us. It also believes in existence of past life Karmas. Due to the Karma Theory, we get answers to many unresolved questions in our life. Here, we are not discussing whether Karma theory has a scientific basis or not. There is no dispute about subtle connection between Karma and the Soul . To that extent, Astrology and Soul purpose has a connection in the spiritual realm. As a corollary, Astrology and Spiritual awakening should naturally have a subtle connection.

The issue of Astrology Vs Spirituality is important for Astrologers. It doesn't matter if the Astrologer is a veteran or practices Astrology as a hobby. There are several books on Astrology and Spirituality for beginners. Even for advanced learners, there is a good availability of Astrology resources. There are Astrology and Spirituality podcasts which one may listen to. We are not concerned here with how to get into Astrology and Spirituality. Focus of this article is on understanding connection between Astrology and Spirituality. Only by understanding this connection, we can appreciate Astrology Spirituality awakening better.

Spirituality through Astrology 🪴

So, is Astrology Spirituality? Or Is Astrology considered Spiritual? While Astrology is not Spirituality, we can say that it is deeply rooted in Spirituality. In Vedic Astrology, Spirituality has always remained as a core. The Great Sages have always sought spiritual awakening through Astrology. Even today, Spiritual Astrology is gaining popularity. Practicing Astrology with element of Spirituality enhance the spiritual capital in an individual. Many Astrologers believe that Astrology works better for souls that are spiritual themselves.

There are no spiritual secrets in Astrology. The Astrology and Spirituality connections have always been transparent. We all experience certain moments in life when we are 'thoughtless'. 'Why do I feel spiritual' is a question that we all have faced sometime in our life. We cannot explain this at the conscious level. Spirituality accepts this feeling and offers lengthy explanations. Astrology too deals with this question. There is a concept of Shodash Chandra kalas or the sixteen shades of Moon, the planet that is the karaka of mind. Between these moments of mood transformations, there can be rare blips of bliss. We see such rare occurrences as spiritual moments.

Astrology has a specific method to check Spirituality in a horoscope. Maharshi Parasara in the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra talks of Vimsamsa or D-20 chart. D-20 is a special divisional chart that throws light on our spiritual progress in this life. Vimsamsa is the most evident example that explains Astrology and Spirituality connection.

RationalAstro’s View on Astrology and Spirituality Connection: 🪴

RationalAstro believes that Spirituality has no direct association with Astrology. Further, we negate the idea that Astrology is Spirituality. Rather, we believe that Astrology exists in a Spiritual envelope. Astrology has a much wider role than only making predictions. Through appropriate karma and vedic remedies we can actually make our future possible. Astrology is more about free will than fatalism or fate. Astrology is not about eventualities. It is about possibilities. To this extent, Astrology can be a powerful vehicle for spiritual progress.

Many Astrologers do not give much importance to the spiritual side of Astrology. Much of the bad name that Astrology has earned today is due to this. The spiritual element has always been in the very core of Astrology. Astrology works best when both Astrologer and the seeker are spiritual souls.

If an Astrologer is sincere in helping anyone, he or she, by default should be a Spiritual Astrologer. A Spiritual Astrologer will always work towards self-improvement. Such an Astrologer would not indulge in any activity that accentuates the vices. The spiritual soul should overcome the vices - kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, matsalya. Such Astrologers are rare but they do exist. And they have existed in all ages. They might not be celebrities. They might not be commercial. But their untiring efforts have sustained Astrology through thousands of years.

Astrology and Spirituality confluence: The Shanti Mantra 🪴

This Shanti Mantra figures in the end part of Sri Rudram Chamakam (11th anuvaka). This mantra has a special place both in Astrology Remedies as well as Spiritual sadhanas. Astrology analyses planetary energies for stress factors in an individual’s horoscope. This Shanti Mantra is said to calm down stressed and anxious mind. It is said that the vibrations of this remedial Vedic mantra result in instant stress relief. Further, all Spiritual practices leads to reducing stress. Stress reduction can be a primary goal or secondary by product of any spiritual practice.

Nirayan Jyotish or the Vedic Astrology is the only system that can explain why twins differ. Twins are never born exactly on the same Hour: Min: Sec. There is always a gap of few seconds to few minutes between the births of twins. This is nature's way that no one in the world can challenge. Subtle difference in birth time of twins explains why identical twins are different. Let us understand this further.

The Importance of Varga Chakras or Divisional Charts in explaining why twins differ:-

Many people question that if Astrology is real why are twins different? In any horoscope, there are several divisional charts apart from the main rasi chart. These divisional charts are also known as Varga Chakras. There are clear defined rules given in classics for constructing these Varga chakras.

One of the Varga chakras is D-60 called as Shashtiamsa. We divide a rasi into 60 parts and plot on a fresh rasi chart based on certain rules to construct D-60 chart. In a rasi chart, Lagna or Ascendant generally remains in a rasi for about two hours. When we make 60 divisions of rasi for constructing a D-60 chart, we see that lagna in D-60 changes in about two minutes. Through D-60 chart, we can examine the previous births and balance of karmas of a person. The balance of karmas shape our current life. For example: Ketu exalted in the third house of D-60 indicates 'Jala-Maran' in previous lives. Jala-Maran is death due to water. If this is so, in the current life, the person would likely be suffering from a varying degree of Hydrophobia.

Twins are born ‘nearly’ on the same time but not ‘exactly’ on the same time.

Twins would be similar in physical features and various other attributes. This is because their rasi chart would be similar. But, higher divisional charts viz. D-60 and D-150 (Nadiamsa) would be completely different. The twins are born 'nearly' on the same time but not 'exactly' on the same time. Thus, their planetary strengths, avasthas etc are also different from each other. This explains why twins differ in heights and sizes. The different higher divisional charts also explains why are twins personalities different.

Do Twins have same horoscope?

Horoscope does not mean only the Rasi chart. It also includes several divisional charts. As explained above, the higher divisional charts viz. Shashtiamsa (D-60) and Nadiamsa (D-150) differ in case of twins. Thus, twins DO NOT have same horoscope. In case lagna is on a cusp of two signs, it is possible to even have different rasi charts in the case of twins. This is the reason why do some twins look completely different. In such cases, the twins can also have different moon signs as well as sun signs. Of course, this depends on various planetary configurations on a case-to-case basis.

The Karma theory explanation:

Here, the Karma theory also kicks in. Since the balance of karmas and their fruits differ, this result in differing world view. Thus, the decisions and actions of the twins differ in different situations.

There are methods of predicting twins in Astrology. But we will discuss this in some other article. In this article, we have confined ourselves to the aspect of how and why twins are so different.

Conclusion:

The Nirayan Jyotish system considers Lagna and divisional charts as crucial. While the Sayan system (western astrology) doesn't give importance to these concepts. That is why ours is the only astrological system that can explain why twins are different.

जुड़वा बच्चे अलग क्यों होते हैं?

निरायन ज्योतिष या वैदिक ज्योतिष एकमात्र प्रणाली है जो बता सकती है कि जुड़वाँ बच्चे क्यों भिन्न होते हैं।जुड़वाँ कभी भी एक ही समय पर पैदा नहीं होते हैं। जुड़वा बच्चों के जन्म के बीच हमेशा कुछ सेकंड से लेकर कुछ मिनटों का अंतर होता है। यह प्रकृति का ऐसा तरीका है जिसे दुनिया में कोई चुनौती नहीं दे सकता। जुड़वां बच्चों के जन्म के समय में यह सूक्ष्म अंतर ही कारण है कि जुड़वां बच्चे अलग क्यों होते हैं। आइए इसे और समझते हैं।

जुड़वाँ बच्चों के भिन्न होने में वर्ग चक्रों का महत्व: -

बहुत से लोग सवाल करते हैं कि अगर ज्योतिष वास्तविक है तो जुड़वां बच्चों का जीवन अलग क्यों हैं? किसी भी कुण्डली में संभागीय चक्र या वर्ग चक्रों का बहुत महत्तव है। इन वर्ग चक्रों को कैसे बनाया जाता है उसके लिए ऋषियों ने स्पष्ट परिभाषित नियम दिए हैं।

वर्ग चक्रों में से एक डी-60 है जिसे षष्ठीआंश कहा जाता है। हम एक राशी को 60 भागों में विभाजित करते हैं और डी-60 चार्ट बनाने के लिए कुछ नियमों के आधार पर एक नए राशी चार्ट पर प्लॉट करते हैं। मुख्य राशी चार्ट में लग्न आम तौर पर लगभग दो घंटे तक एक राशी में रहता है। जब हम D-60 चार्ट बनाने के लिए राशी के 60 भाग बनाते हैं, तो D-60 की एक राशी में लग्न लगभग दो मिनट ही रह पाता है। D-60 चार्ट के माध्यम से हम किसी व्यक्ति के पिछले जन्मों और कर्मों के हिसाब किताब की जांच कर सकते हैं। पिछले जन्मों के कर्म हमारे वर्तमान जीवन को आकार देते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए: डी-60 के तीसरे घर में उच्च का केतु पिछले जन्मों में 'जल-मरन' को इंगित करता है। जल-मरन यानि पानी से मौत। यदि ऐसा है, तो वर्तमान जीवन में, व्यक्ति संभवतः हाइड्रोफोबिया (पानी से डर) से पीड़ित होगा।

जुड़वां कुछ समय के अन्तर पर पैदा होते हैं, कभी भी एक ही समय पर नहीं

जुड़वां बच्चे शारीरिक विशेषताओं में समान होंगे। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि उनका राशी चक्र समान होगा। लेकिन, उच्च वर्ग चक्र जैसे D-60 और D-150 (नाड़ीअंश) पूरी तरह से अलग होंगे। जुड़वां हमेशा कुछ समय के अन्तर पर ही पैदा होते हैं। इस वजह से उनका ग्रह बल, ग्रहों की अवस्था आदि भी एक दूसरे से भिन्न होते हैं।

क्या जुड़वां बच्चों की कुंडली एक जैसी होती है?

राशिफल का मतलब केवल राशी चक्र ही नहीं होता है। इसमें कई वर्ग चक्र भी शामिल हैं। जुड़वा बच्चों के मामले में षष्ठीअंश (D-60) और नाड़ीअंश (D-150) अलग-अलग होते हैं। यदि राशी चक्र में भी लग्न अंतिम डिग्री और मिनट में है, तो जुड़वा बच्चों के मामले में अलग-अलग राशी चक्र भी हो सकते हैं। यही कारण है कि कुछ जुड़वां बिल्कुल अलग दिखते हैं।

कर्म सिद्धांत व्याख्या:

यहां, कर्म सिद्धांत भी लागू होता है। चूंकि पिछले जन्मों के कर्मों का फ़ल हर आत्मा का अलग है, इसलिए इसका परिणाम भी हर व्यक्ति के जीवन में अलग-अलग होता है। इसी वजह से जुड़वा बच्चों के निर्णय और कार्य अलग-अलग स्थितियों में भिन्न होते हैं।

ज्योतिष में जुड़वाँ बच्चे कैसे पैदा होते हैं इसको भी जानने के तरीके हैं। लेकिन हम इस पर किसी अन्य लेख में चर्चा करेंगे। इस लेख में, हमने खुद को इस पहलू तक सीमित रखा है कि जुड़वाँ बच्चे कैसे और क्यों इतने अलग होते हैं।

निष्कर्ष:

निरायण ज्योतिष प्रणाली, लग्न और वर्ग चक्रों को बहुत महत्वपूर्ण मानती है। जबकि सायन प्रणाली (पश्चिमी ज्योतिष) इन अवधारणाओं को महत्व नहीं देती है। इसलिए केवल निरायण ज्योतिष प्रणाली ही यह बता सकती है कि जुड़वाँ बच्चे अलग क्यों होते हैं।

Holashtak are the period of eight days culminating in Holi. We celebrate Holi on the Poornima of Phalgun month. Many Hindus believe that Holashtak days are inauspicious for doing many activities. But, in fact, these days are the days of penance and introspection.

Why is Holashtak considered inauspicious?

Holashtak are the eight days of phalgun month from Sukla Ashtami to Poornima. Holashtak is also called Holika Ashtak. Hindus believe that these eight days are not for taking up any auspicious activity. It is not clear why holashtak is considered inauspicious? It is surprising that even today in this era of modern science, this belief holds ground.

Holashtak days are not inauspicious but the days of penance and introspection.

There are two prominent stories surrounding Holika Ashtak. One of the stories says that Lord Shiva destroyed Kaamdev on Sukla Ashtami and the world was full of gloom. The entire World appeased Shiva, and on the day of Poornima, he granted life to Kamadeva. As a result, the World rejoiced in celebrations and colours.

There is another popular story. Hiranyakashyap detained Prahlad on Sukla Ashtami. Holika started making preparations for destroying Prahalad. But, on the eighth day of Poornima, she herself got destroyed. The World rejoiced in the form of Holi celebrations.

Astrologically speaking, these eight days are like any other days in our lives. These days can be notch better than normal days since they fall in the auspicious phalgun month. Therefore, in the absence of any concrete logic or reason, let us not brand these eight days as inauspicious. If we have to choose or take sides, let us choose the positive and not the negative. Phalguni is a pious month. It is an ideal time for self-improvement through inner drive and motivation.

Please do not consider Holashtak days as inauspicious. If we don’t want to take up any auspicious events due to strong beliefs, it is upto us. But this does not take away the piousness of the entire concept of Holashtak.

Holashtak Mantras:

'Rakshoghna Mantra' are the set of mantras prescribed during Holashtak period. These mantras counter the evil effects of planetary energies. As a result, they aid in the fulfillment of worldly desires. The Rigveda Mandala 4 and 10 and also Yajur Veda prescribe these Mantras.

When is Holashtak in 2022?

Every year, Holashtak 2022 start and end date is found from the Indian Calendar. In 2022, Holi falls on 18-March-2022. So, Holashtak 2022 starts from 10-March, 2:57 AM onwards and it ends on Holi which is on 18-March.

होलाष्टक २०२२

होलाष्टक क्या होता है? होली पर समाप्त होने वाले आठ दिनों की अवधि को होलाष्टक माना जाता है। फाल्गुन मास की पूर्णिमा को हम होली मनाते हैं। कई हिंदुओं का मानना है कि होलाष्टक के दिनों में कोई शुभ कार्य नहीं करने चाहिए। ये कहते हैं कि होलाष्टक में वर्जित कार्य करने से अशुभ परिणाम हो सकते हैं। । लेकिन, असल में ये दिन तपस्या और आत्मनिरीक्षण के दिन हैं।

होलाष्टक को अशुभ क्यों माना जाता है? क्या होता है होलाष्टक में?

आपने सुना होगा कि होलाष्टक में वर्जित कार्य कई सारे बताये गये हैं जैसे नई गाड़ी लेना, नये मकान में रहना इत्यादि। कई सारे ऐसे काम हैं जो लोग मना करते हैं होलाष्टक में करने को। कई पंडितों का भी मानना है कि होलाष्टक में भूलकर भी ना करें ये काम। लेकिन क्या यह सोच ठीक है?

होलाष्टक शुक्ल अष्टमी से पूर्णिमा तक फाल्गुन मास के आठ दिन हैं। होलाष्टक को होलिका अष्टक भी कहा जाता है। हिंदुओं का मानना है कि ये आठ दिन कोई शुभ कार्य करने के लिए नहीं हैं। हालाँकि यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि होलाष्टक के दिनों को क्यों अशुभ माना जाता है? होलाष्टक में क्या करें क्या न करें इसके लिये कोई प्रामाणिक सूची नहीं है। आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि आधुनिक विज्ञान के इस युग में भी यह मान्यता आज भी कायम है।

होलाष्टक के दिन अशुभ नहीं बल्कि तपस्या और आत्मनिरीक्षण के दिन होते हैं।

होलिका अष्टक को लेकर दो प्रमुख कथाएं प्रचलित हैं। एक कहानी में कहा गया है कि शुक्ल अष्टमी पर भगवान शिव ने कामदेव को नष्ट कर दिया और दुनिया निराशा से भर गई। पूरे विश्व ने शिव को प्रसन्न किया और फ़लस्वरूप पूर्णिमा के दिन उन्होंने कामदेव को जीवनदान दिया। इससे विश्व उत्सवों और रंगों में आनन्दित हुआ।

एक और प्रचलित कहानी है। हिरण्यकश्यप ने शुक्ल अष्टमी पर प्रह्लाद को हिरासत में लिया। होलिका प्रह्लाद को नष्ट करने की तैयारी करने लगी। लेकिन, पूर्णिमा के आठवें दिन, वह स्वयं नष्ट हो गई। दुनिया खुशी से झूम उठी और होली मनाई।

ज्योतिष के हिसाब से देखें तो ये आठ दिन हमारे जीवन के अन्य दिनों की तरह ही हैं। अन्य दिनों के मुकाबले ये दिन बेहतर ही होंगे क्योंकि यह दिन शुभ फाल्गुन महीने में आते हैं। किसी भी ठोस तर्क या कारण के अभाव में हम इन आठ दिनों को अशुभ न मानें। अगर हमें चुनना या पक्ष लेना है, तो सकारात्मक को चुनें न कि नकारात्मक को। फाल्गुनी एक पवित्र महीना है। यह स्वयं की प्रेरणा के माध्यम से आत्म-सुधार के लिए एक आदर्श समय है।

कृपया होलाष्टक के दिनों को अशुभ न मानें। यदि हम किन्हीं विश्वासों के कारण इन दिनों कोई भी शुभ कार्य नहीं करना चाहते हैं, तो यह हम पर निर्भर है। लेकिन ऐसा करने से होलाष्टक की पूरी अवधारणा की पवित्रता कम नहीं होती।

होलाष्टक के मंत्र:

'रक्षोघ्न मंत्र' होलाष्टक काल के दौरान निर्धारित मंत्रों का समूह है। ये मंत्र ग्रहों की ऊर्जा के बुरे प्रभावों को काटते हैं। परिणामस्वरूप, यह मंत्र सांसारिक इच्छाओं की पूर्ति में सहायता करते हैं। ऋग्वेद मंडल 4 और 10 और यजुर्वेद में इन मंत्रों का वर्णन है।

होलाष्टक कब से लग रहे हैं?

I consulted with Sh. xxxxx at xxxxx. He charged Rs.xxxxx for a complete horoscope analysis. But despite paying so much and spending a lot of time traveling to his place, I am not sure whether he did my complete horoscope analysis or just paid lip service. Please tell me how an Astrologer does a complete analysis of the horoscope?

Without commenting on the merits of an individual Astrologer, let me say just this-For a complete horoscope analysis experience - The TRIPOD concept in Astrology is very important. We often pay hefty amounts to avail services of professional astrologers. We also give them our confidential birth data. We should therefore ask them if they know the basic concept in astrology that I call the TRIPOD Concept. In this article, I have tried to keep the language simple but I apologize for using some technical astrology terms which I couldn’t have avoided.

No meaningful interpretation of horoscope is possible unless done through the TRIPOD concept

Let’s try and understand these three important reference points:-

Lagna-

Lagna is the point which rises with the Sun on the eastern horizon every day. It tells us the actual events, the truth, the facts with no emotional bias or any value judgment. The event is truth as it is. For instance, getting a job is an event, a reality. There are no value-judgements attached to this. Whether it’s a ‘good’ job or a ‘bad’ job is not the concern. We need to examine such events of facts from the reference point of Lagna. For a better understanding of the topic, let’s create a fictitious person called as Sneha. Let’s say Sneha gets a job offer from some company. To examine the event of Sneha getting a job offer, the reference point has to be Lagna.

Arudha Lagna-

The reference of Arudha Lagna in horoscope tells us about how our society is viewing an event that has happened to us. The opinion of people that matters to us always influences us. How is the society rating the job offer of Sneha? In Sneha’s example, if there are malefic combinations surrounding Arudha Lagna, it means the society is not impressed by her job offer. On the other hand, if there are benefic combinations, it means that the society is excited about it. Of course, the actual analysis is much more complex, but I am trying to be as simple as possible.

Grah Arudha-

This reference point shows how the individual is taking that event or fact. Is Sneha happy or sad about getting that job offer? If Sneha was trying hard for a job, this offer could be a boon to her. In such a scenario, the horoscope will show well-aligned planets from Grah Arudha in particular dashas. But if Sneha was trying to get a better job than the existing one, may be it is not a very exciting offer in her opinion. If this is the case, there would be malefic combinations from Grah Arudha.

Summary:

No meaningful interpretation of horoscope is possible unless done through the TRIPOD concept. Using three reference points - Lagna, Arudha Lagna and Grah Arudha in a horoscope can give a holistic view. We should not feel shy about asking the astrologer whether she or he is aware of this Concept or not. If not, then we should avoid such astrologers. And instead spend our money with family & friends without worrying about the future.

आरूढ़ लग्न-

कुंडली में अरुधा लग्न का संदर्भ हमें बताता है कि हमारे साथ घटी किसी घटना को हमारा समाज किस तरह से देख रहा है। लोगों की राय जो हमारे लिए मायने रखती है वह हमेशा हमें प्रभावित करती है। स्नेहा के जॉब ऑफर को सोसाइटी कैसे रेटिंग दे रही है? स्नेहा के उदाहरण में, यदि अरुधा लग्न के आसपास अशुभ योग हैं, तो इसका अर्थ है कि समाज उसकी नौकरी की पेशकश से प्रभावित नहीं है। वहीं दूसरी ओर यदि शुभ योग हैं तो इसका अर्थ है कि समाज इसे लेकर उत्साहित है। बेशक, वास्तविक विश्लेषण बहुत अधिक जटिल है, लेकिन मैं यथासंभव सरल होने की कोशिश कर रहा हूं।

गृह-आरूढ़ा

यह संदर्भ बिंदु दर्शाता है कि व्यक्ति स्वयं उस घटना या तथ्य को कैसे ले रहा है। नौकरी का ऑफर मिलने से स्नेहा खुश है या दुखी? अगर स्नेहा नौकरी के लिए काफी मेहनत कर रही थी तो यह ऑफर उनके लिए वरदान साबित हो सकता है। ऐसे में कुंडली विशेष दशाओं में गृह-आरूढ़ा से ठीक तरह से संरेखित ग्रहों को दिखाएगी। लेकिन अगर स्नेहा मौजूदा नौकरी से बेहतर नौकरी पाने की कोशिश कर रही थी, तो हो सकता है कि उनकी राय में यह बहुत रोमांचक प्रस्ताव न हो। यदि ऐसा है, तो गृह-आरूढ़ा से अशुभ योग दिखेंगे।

सारांश:

बिना TRIPOD अवधारणा के कुंडली की कोई सार्थक व्याख्या संभव नहीं है। कुंडली में तीन संदर्भ बिंदुओं - लग्न, आरूढ़ लग्न और गृह आरूढ़ा का उपयोग करके ही एक समग्र दृष्टिकोण दिया जा सकता है। हमें ज्योतिषी से यह पूछने में शर्म नहीं करनी चाहिए कि वह TRIPOD अवधारणा से अवगत है या नहीं। यदि नहीं, तो हमें ऐसे ज्योतिषियों से बचना चाहिए। और इसके बजाय भविष्य की चिंता किए बिना अपना पैसा परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ खर्च करना चाहिए।

Rising Omicron Cases have given us serious worries. Not only in India but across the World, people are anxious. Is it going to be as scary as the second wave? Let’s examine this from an Astrological perspective.

May everyone be happy and blissful, free from all diseases.

The recent Omicron wave or as many are saying ‘third wave’ has created a scare among the World’s population. As we remember the terrible memories of the second wave, let's try and figure out what’s in store for us this time.

The Second Wave:

The second wave was painful and traumatic. It seemed unending. On 11-April-2021, we had discussed the end of second wave in the article – Covid-19 revisited. We were expecting that the second wave would likely peak out by 13th May 2021 and it did so around that time.

Can the Omicron variant of COVID-19 be serious in India?

About the Omicron wave, I would urge the readers to re-read the article– When Will Coronavirus end?. This article was published on 29-April-2020 while lock-down was underway in India. In this article, I have compared astrological combinations for major pandemics that the World faced since 165 AD. I tried to examine what planetary combinations existed when these pandemics occurred. Then I studied the planetary combinations in which the World was able to dominate the pandemic. Based on the findings, I made a prognosis on the end of Coronavirus or COVID-19 by astrological deduction.

As discussed in this article, the Rahu-Ketu Axis remained a prime focus in all the past pandemics including the COVID-19. From that sense, the upcoming shift of the Rahu-Ketu Axis on 12-April-2022 is a very significant development which the World should watch out for.

Astrologically, the times are not as critical as compared to that during the second wave. But human actions are of utmost importance.

Several Astrologers are claiming severe trouble at the time of this axis shift. But, I hold a different opinion. Sun – the giver of immunity has a strong argala on Taurus which is the lagna rashi of India. Moreover, as per transit or gochara calculations, the Sun is in a very good tara and murti. As Rahu moves away from Taurus, the immunity of the population is getting stronger.

Astrologically, the times are not as critical as compared to that during the second wave. But human actions are of utmost importance. If we are reckless and casual and don’t follow protocols, we are in for a major trouble. What will the benign planetary energies do if we ourselves are reckless about our lives. So YES, with the planetary energies supporting us, it is WE who will be responsible for our well-being.

Will 2022 be the end of COVID or Omicron Cases?

To answer this question, I am quoting an extract from the article – When will Coronavirus end? –

Going by the Antonine, Justinian and Spanish Flu incidents, we may also take caution that the virus probably would never get extinct. However, it would probably be like the regular flu viruses that continue to affect us seasonally but is no more a threat to humanity.

Two years since this article was published, I am still standing by the prognosis. The virus is taking different forms. It will continue to do so but what is important is that the HUMANITY is WINNING. During this wave with rising Omicron Cases, please rest assured that the planetary energies are favoring the human efforts to contain the virus.

Post April-12, 2022, within a few days, the immunity of the population starts to show upticks.

The World has already changed due to the pandemic. And this change is irreversible. The COVID appropriate behavior are here to stay for all times to come. The virus keeps on bothering us through new variants. Even then, based on the planetary positions, I am hoping that the current wave of Omicron Cases doesn’t last long. The infection cases could increase but I don’t see the same trend in the number of fatalities. The shift of Rahu-Ketu axis is a major event in Astrology. To that extent, it is possible that the cases could show increase in the short term after April-12, 2022. However, within a few days, as the immunity of the population starts to show upticks, the situation is expected to get better and better. I sincerely hope that we start returning to our pre-covid good old days post this axis shift.

The most important thing is to follow all Government guidelines and protocols. We should continue to wear masks and practice social distancing. We can save ourselves and family only through covid appropriate behaviour.

Summary:

Despite the rising Omicron cases, the planetary energies are favoring the population. The human efforts in containing the rising Omicron cases will continue to remain effective. I don’t see a major cause to fear. There could be high infection rate but there aren’t many maraka combinations. Thus, it appears that the population would be able to fight this Omicron wave successfully without much fatalities.

The current sudden surge is likely to peak out in a few weeks. For a more permanent change for good, the key date I am looking forward for is 12-April-2022 when the Rahu-Ketu Axis shifts away from Taurus. We should start our return journey to the good old days post this axis shift. However, the World has permanently changed its ways of communication and that will stay for ever.

Despite the planetary energies favoring us, if we are casual and reckless in our Karma, the planets would not save us. It’s a blessing that during the current times, the planets want us to be happy and free from diseases. So, please strictly follow the COVID protocols and government guidelines issued from time to time. This is the only way we can keep all of us safe.

Spiritual strength is a potent factor that affects our body's immune systems. I know no other way than MANTRAS that work at a subtle level in re-aligning the neuron pathways inside us.

On 12-April-2022, the SUN will be in the kshema tara (well-being) and Swarna murti. This is a very good sign of a strong sun transit.
