“Occasionally weep deeply over the life you hoped for. Grieve the losses, feel the pain. Then wash your face. Trust God and embrace the life you have.” – John Piper
All of us at one point of our lives are bound to experience failure or adversity. In this episode I share a heartfelt, deep and authentic moment of vulnerability when my dreams were shattered, when I paid dearly for mistakes I had made and had to navigate through a tough season of adversity. I had to move from a victim mentality to a place of picking up what was left and dream again.

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it” Maya Angelou
In this episode I share and tell my own story of rising up from failure into success as I challenged myself to have a mind shift and change of perspectives from labels of failure that I had grown up with. Along the journey of life, we pick up certain labels and believes about ourselves, sometimes from within and other times from the words that others say about us. But bottom line is, what do you believe about yourself and the gifts you posses?

“You don't know how to live until you learn how to die”
When you realize that your life will end someday, when you understand that your time on earth is limited, when you find you’re not guaranteed a number of days on earth, when you discover your breaths are running out…you suddenly learn how to live!
Death is inevitable and we will all face it one day. In this episode I share part of my story when life flashed right in front of my eyes exactly a few weeks after a heart-breaking loss of a loved one whom I looked up to. This complete awareness of death and the opportunity to live again gave me the zeal to live in the present, to make life's journey beautiful before reaching the last station called death.

Transitions can be bumpy, messy and sometimes outrightly hard!
In this episode I continue with my series of "Coming to America." I had to learn transitions the hard way while trying to settle in America, fresh from Kenya with my "Kenyan accent" and often battling loneliness. In this inaugural episode I get to introduce myself and share a few thoughts on how our perspectives, just like lenses influence our outlook in life and in the long run affect how we experience life. In order for us to live audaciously and courageously we have to broaden, challenge or even shift our perspectives so that we can live with more clarity and awareness.
