Guess who's back? Back again? Abandoning the poor mess that was Ponderings of a Peculiar Pupil, Cal(eb) has ventured more into adulthood: he's driving now and he's unscripted!
Already having been talking to himself (and God!) during his drives, he figured why not turn on a recording device and get it on tape and publish it to the world wide web, as you do! Take it as a poor, bootleg version of a mix between James Corden's Carpool Karaoke and Anything Goes by Emma Chamberlain.
We'll go anywhere from jokey road-rage to some good ol' Bible talk! You'll just have to listen to see.
As much as Caleb likes to be jokey and fun with the podcast, this episode does take on a bit more of a serious tone with conversations concerning death, how to spend life’s time wisely, dealing with social anxiety, and generally just being okay with not being okay. If you’re in a spot where you’re fighting against yourself, you’re not alone. We delve into that and more in some candid conversations during this episode.
After being gone for two weeks on missions, Cal is back to recount his time on the mission trip & give some discussion on what it looks like to walk in the Spirit and be on mission in one's daily life. Of course, the conversation isn't devoid of Cal getting side-tracked and making jokes that make the FBI agent listening in on him question life as it is.
Back to basics, here's a second episode to Car Talks With Cal! This episode focuses on: the reasoning by the long release date, a myriad of memes, some bible reading, and whatever else comes to Cal's mind! Despite the long release time, I think the quality control shows through. ;)
In the first half-episode of Car Talks With Cal & the first edition of "Cal-Lateral Damage" (courtesy to Jarod Underwood for the name), we feature a video-exclusive podcast episode here on Spotify as encouraged by the "Sk8ing Gang" Group-Me. Needless to say, there's about a sped-up 5 minute session of Caleb backing up and 10 minutes of cut footage that was the camera staring at the ceiling of the car. An experimental but also fun episode nonetheless! Now you can see Caleb road rage and complain in real time!
WELCOME TO THE FIRST OFFICIAL EPISODE! If you were expecting anything more refined, you might be sorely disappointed because there's only more chaos to be found here. We've got raw egg coffee, Cal exposing himself many a times, the banning of Nicki Minaj from this podcast, and much much more. Throughout all of the chaos, though, there are some gems of genuine dialogue about life to be found in this episode that I don't think you'd want to miss ranging from the ideas of identity to having hope. Delve into about 50 minutes of Caleb's psyche and get to know him and his world just a bit better.
In this trial run of Car Talks with Cal, Caleb hits the ground running with his signature "can't-pay-attention" and "off-the-wall" conversating style where he goes through his day, details about the drive he's taking, and his love for supermarkets. Get acclimated to the coming chaos of further episodes with this, if you can even call it this, light preface into what it looks like to be a passenger in Caleb's 2009 Kia Rio.
