The super exciting thing about the first part of January this year is that the current astrology gives us space to reflect and release the old energies of 2023 that you don’t want to bring into 2024. It offers support in turning over a new leaf and gives clarity in envisioning the life that you can spend the new few years living towards.
My intention today is to facilitate a 2023 reflection and release journal inner field trip. This is a massive catharsis and then we will move on to a 2024 creative review. I acknowledge that these are two very separate energies so I will be doing them in two separate podcasts, but know one is an exhale and one is an inhale, together they are one breath. For today, you will need about an hour of uninterrupted time.

I want to offer an acknowledgment of the level of astrological intensity we have experienced and will continue to experience over the next few years. You know this already. I unite with you in the mission to stay as conscious as you can, to witness the unfolding of time, and create create create. Your creative work is the medicine to realms beyond our own.
In other words, YOU being in the act of creation matters.
For today, perhaps gather things that make you comfortable and then set up your space to best support focus, grab your trusted journal or set yourself up with some paper and a pen. The goal is to create a safe sensory space, whatever that means for you. To some that means warm candles, sweat incense, and powerful sacred objects, to others, it may mean small disposable representations of the elements. Trust your first impulse in reaching for what feels right in your body. Pause the podcast to tend to your space.
AND we are back and WE BEGIN
Close your eyes and breathe deep, complete exhales and soft full inhales. At any time you may need to pause the podcast to give yourself processing time or time to journal, this is encouraged. Now bring awareness back to your breath and to your heart center, imagine you are breathing in and out from your heart. Expanding and relaxing.

I ask today, how are you? How is your mental body, emotional body, physical body, and spiritual body?

You must get under the radar screen of your own defenses and reflect on your life.

At this moment, commit to practicing softness. Grab your journal and pen, and maybe a comforting drink, and title your page 2023. If you created a sigil for 2023 you can include a little doodle of that also.
I ask what must you grieve from 2023?
Practice softness & surrender to your grief so that it feels held.
What broke your heart? what does the heartbreak look/feel/sound/taste/small like?
Invite the nervous system to savor & digest the new experience.

Under the banner of 2023, take a journey into the hard and the beautiful and answer this question: "If I am not doing the work I'm intending to do, why am I not doing it?"

It’s time to put away the past so we can move forward.
Release the pity and shame and all the other s**t.

Forgive your life and your lifemates, forgive yourself for your failings and failures It is time to release stored-up negativity and disappointment back to the mother.
We can support our own creating by wholeheartedly reflecting in a loving way at our own humanity and walk in the equivalent of living forgiveness to let go of my stored up emotional blocks.

Writing prompt: "Am I willing to believe that my creative efforts matter, at least to me?"
You have to make a pact with yourself to act "as if" you matter, even if you have abundant evidence to suggest that you do not matter. Unless you can convince yourself in a heartfelt way that painting a painting or doing whatever else you are choosing to do matters, you will have no motivational juice to create. The question to ask is, If you can't get a "yes" to that question, you need to stop everything and have a heart-to-heart chat with yourself.

This is a bit of a messy transit where confusion and uncertainty could lead to disappointment. Nope, no one switched your morning beverage with decaf we are just all tired from Neptune. How disappointing. Forcing or guilting yourself out of your lethargy is not as effective as doing something weirdly spiritual that sparks your wishbone into a bit of bliss.
3:23 am ET Mercury opposite Jupiter, 1 Libra/Aries
Although this aspect will be felt until OCT 15, this is the third and final Mercury/Jupiter opposition of 2022 and we will not encounter this again until OCT 2023. I feel this transit as overconfident judgments and big promises that hope for progress or success but that ultimately do not live to potential.

Welcome OCTOBER!! We have entered a significantly dramatic Month, certainly the most dramatic we have felt so far this year, and will likely be surpassed in drama with November’s skies-but that is getting too far ahead.
This Month in a snapshot:
Mercury retrograde ends at the start of October which is great news. For the first half of the month, we will all be going over territory that we activated through the September retrograde, giving an opportunity for second chances and an opportunity to clean up communication misunderstandings, technical and business snafus, and crossed wires. Mercury will go through 3 signs this Month: Virgo, Libra and Scorpio.
Jupiter is headed back into Pisces at the very end of the month-so heads up. Jupiter will be in PISCES from October 28 until December 12, 2022. Your feelings will have feelings and there is a danger of lacking momentum and direction.
Saturn Square Uranus in October - FEB 4, JULY 12, DEC 12 We have entered the orb of effect for the last of 3 hits we have experienced in 2022 of this transit and it is the undertow of this exceptionally intense month. Reinvention/update habits and tendencies.
Eclipse Season begins later in October: Oct 19-Nov 22, 2022. The 2 yearly eclipse seasons are determined by the location of the sun to the nodes of the moon. North Node is in Taurus and the South Node is in Scorpio. Any new or full moon in this time frame will be an eclipse and brings a bit of instability in general or maybe disruption is a better way to see this. This is helpful to get out your regular pattern to see what you want to keep. This is also a stressful time for the physical body, do not overload your systems.

Yesterday's New Moon at 3 Libra, is considered “the dawn of a new day when everything changed” according to its Sabian symbol; and its relationship status, complicated.
The 3rd degree of Libra, where the Sun and Moon are conjoining rules the Adrenals, the pride of our endocrine system, the stress-sensitive messenger system of the body. Our planetary messenger Mercury, who is retrograde and focused inward, is conjunct this New Moon as is his crafting buddy, Venus.
Libra is an air sign ruled by venus, the zodiac sign rumored to be an angelic figure put in the celestial sphere by the gods to create a balance between Virgo and Scorpio. I have been thinking a lot about how we create balance with air. Is this with mindset? Is this from breathwork? I’d answer myself yes and yes.
Here we are, perhaps sitting with a fair amount of internal negotiation brought on by this New Moon phase because the September 25, 2022 lunation is opposite Jupiter, and tendencies to be self-indulgent are ripe. There is a certainty that over-attaching to the comforts of life will suck you in like a comfortable couch dreaming of big future plans because of a trine to Pluto.
The Autumnal Equinox was only a few days ago, almost uniting with this New Moon to activate a new horizon that is both fiercely individual and collectively unknown. The journey to the sunrise ahead will require stamina and fortification of the nervous system yes, but also the physical subterranean tunnels Pluto governs so well, the nadis.
Strengthened by breath, the lesser known energetic tunnels, the nadis is where I am focusing my New Moon offering to you. This is a big topic and it involves taking about body systems not talked about nor acknowledged in the west, until now.

The Sun shines on the 6th stage of the creative cycle this week, this is Correction the final evaluation of your creative endeavor, and the time for adaptation if needed. This stage is the space before a deadline. The anxiety of the last stage, clarification, runs the risk of blossoming into a full panic now; so the emphasis here is to be your own best ally, your own best advocate. Realizing what you are creating is not who you are and bravely step through this stage with an abundance of self-care and gratitude. Accepting success is a form of courage and caring life force, energy, and consciousness.
Out of the subconscious MOON, we move to our conscious identity of the SUN. Having multiple plans to cope with the fire of anxiety is helpful in this stage. Techniques that soothe the air that feeds the inner anxious fire, such as deep relaxation and deep breathing bring discipline and presence.

Venus, who can symbolize our money, our finances, is weakened because she is under the beams of the Sun, and the cutting presence of Mars in data-driven, commerce-based Mercury is having this hard transit, a square, the transit Astrologer Darby Costello says makes you see the reality of a thing. Will we collectively see the reality of our finances? ESPECIALLY because at this moment the Moon conjuncts MARS and OUCH.
Sun opposite Neptune, 24° Virgo/ Pisces -I am going to say something controversial. I try to encourage everyone to be creative here at Bring to a Boyle. I am not saying I am speaking for or to artists I am saying you, yes you are creative no matter how you identify. Why do I say that? Because you were created.
Pow! You are in a body and every person in a body will have an unconscious urge therefore to create, to make. Your urge may be to create chaos, but I’m saying you are making - even if it is crazy-making. This Sun opposite Neptune transit reminds me of something that every creative person knows- there is a wave of disappointment that comes when the creative thing is done. Neptune does leave an aftertaste of meh. So any feeling of lack of clarity or excitement is natural it does NOT mean you failed. Or Suck. or are on the wrong path. This too shall pass. This is when being creative to bring you out of your creative blues may work.

Mercury retrograde opposite Jupiter rx, 4° Libra/Aries We have been here before and will be here again because this aspect is DOMINATING the retrograde. You are weighing options and revising choices this is actually a beautiful part of the fifth stage of the creativity cycle, Clarification. In this stage, our relationship to our creative endeavor is strengthened by insight and appraisal. A place where our self-hood experiences a sinking deepening.
There is a wildness in this emotional but habitual reaction to the creativity process. You may need to shout aloud that you are a Wild Creature and embrace the uncertain obscurity that presents itself before clarity comes.

This week hosts Mercury stationing retrograde (Rx) and the Full Moon is at 18° Pisces. Because these two events are very close in the landscape of the week, some of the themes that will occur are related to the Moon.
I see the Pisces Moon as an invite into creativity and an invite into creating energetic boundaries to put the content of your life in. This is something that I am very interested in and one nifty tool I have come across to aid in this quest is a morning journaling technique I call CALLING IN THE DAY. I offer you here a journal technique to build energetic structural support to complement your morning routine a tool for behavior modification.
Grab your journal, paper or keyboard and start the day by tapping into cosmic wisdom; write down a journal prompt of four words: air, earth, fire, and water.
A bit about each heading:

Contemplation
Record the overview of the day using your favorite divination tool. You could pull a Tarot or Oracle Card, consult the I Ching, look at the day’s Astrology- take your pick. If you are not clear on a journaling prompt today, consider “How can I welcome the change in the air?”
Record what you think of what is your mind and body signaling to you and how can you connect this to your heart?
AIR is your cue to contemplate how the planetary ruler of the day can support your thoughts.

Rubbing his feet on the carpet real fast so he can shock us as he gets close to our Earth Mercury rx has a bad reputation, has it evolved through confirmation bias, or is Mercury retrograde just a misunderstood phenomena where the natural ebb and flow of elemental principles are showing us the season to act and then a season to think. This retrograde with start in Libra and end in Virgo the last of 3 Mercury rx of 2022 in this same pattern (Aquarius/Capricorn, Gemini/Taurus, Libra/Virgo). Almost seems as a beautiful transition dance beginning in the idea-stimulation air and ending in the material reality of earth.
Mercury in Libra brings a beautiful instinct for negotiation and it is good medicine from now to Oct 2, actually 16 (because of shadow) to see both sides of an issue. This is a great time to revisit your creative practice.

I am reporting this forecast from a belief that the planets themselves don’t do things to us, or make us do anything. The planets don't cause events, but they are acting as a window to a different perspective and alternate view of reality because of thousands and thousands of years of empirical evidence collected from the stars as humans look up into the sky. The different ways we read the symbolic energies, the general vibe, and unseen forces at work around us can influence choices and what we meet and attract in life, I hope this week's forecast can offer a little bump of contentment for me and you.
Eagles eye view- As an Astrologer, I am here to remind you we are in a new triplicity element. (Shifts every 240 ish years). DEC 2020 we shifted from earth to air and it is a time of transition.
This week is when we continue to start the climb into an intense collective energy that will exponentially increase each week through November. It is your choice how much you interact with this allowing aggression and frustration into your personal boundary.
I get the impression from time to time that people want to hear that things will get better and we will turn the corner to more stability, but that's simply unrealistic. In order for a new reality to be built (because of the triplicity shift) the gunk has to be cleaned out.
Collectively we have 5-7 more years of gunk cleaning.

The VOC moon is a debated topic amongst astrologers and I imagine a good way to get the fur flying is to bring up the topic in a room full of them.

A modern astrologer's view is that every 2 to 3 days the Moon turns Void of Course (VC) The VC period can last from about 20 minutes to about 20 hours and astrology calendars notate the VC Moon.

This can also be seen as an opposition, some say an invitation to compromise. In this first transit of the week, Mercury in Virgo Opposes Neptune in Pisces. Mercury in Virgo is solid, about tight facts, doing things obsessively correct, and only sees black and white. Neptune in Pisces is fog in all shades of grey and is more about the biomorphic shapes than angular precision. This transit can bring a fair amount of overstimulation in the imagination zone. This is a time in space to not make agreements and be wary of people or situations that roll into your life hot today. Give it time, if it is that important it can wait a few days.

Because Pluto is an outer planet it is really dealing with the collective in this situation. Mercury, being a personal planet is very much like individuals writing, singing, and speaking harsh and angry messages to Pluto. The warning here is if you must, keep the angry words focused on the collective/inanimate structures and not directed towards individuals as much as you can if you want peace in your life.

This is a small aspect that happens every month, but I wanted to point out the MOON conjunct JUPITER at 6:58 am EDT on Monday, AUG 15. Jupiter is currently in retrograde in Aries heading back into Pisces. Jupiter is happy in both Aries (because Jupiter is in nighttime triplicity which is an auspicious placement) and Pisces (because Jupiter is at home here in Domicile).
Jupiter is a grand storyteller and planner, but too much aspiration can be distracting with no practical result. When he is in retrograde, as he is now, it's a lovely practice to reflect on your WILL to create. Have your creative experiences thrived or have they led to a fantasy-like bypassing the material in some way?
A tool of engagement today is to announce you matter. Make your creative self take up the space you need. Give yourself an outrageous title for the day (as a side note, I am considering making myself a creative headpiece for this very reason).
The creative theory is that by having a sense of who you are and why you are making art you enter into an identity-based self-reflective relationship and intention naturally arises. This nearly subconscious knowing of self births ideas and creative works that elaborate on the will your aspiring intention is created. It is a form of existential intelligence. <3Eric Maisel writes, “This is the part of our nature that steps back, slips on a wide-angle lens, and appraises in the realm of meaning.”
Again this aspect happens every month because the Moon loops around the zodiac every month, so it's not at all a biggie BUT it is a good pocket of positivity in a time where counting your blessings is a nice strategy for calm.
Old school electional astrologers use the MOON conjunct JUPITER as a good time for starting a new job or filing for copyrights/patents.

You may be feeling like your energy is dragging recently-I would say that’s Mars saying “If I’ve got to feel this, so to do you”. So Mars is in a hard, challenging, and unpleasant aspect with Saturn. Mars freshly from a conjunction with Uranus (the future) and the North Node of the Moon (tenacious urge to find your highest purpose) is perhaps telling old man Saturn, not known for ever being joyous on a great day, that it is time to release his old man ways and let the freewheeling future take over. Saturn will have none of it, but he is retrograde and this may give you a malaise or depressed air instead of outright revolution.

I am delighted to see so many of my friends and colleagues celebrating the “Lion’s Gate” on Aug 8, 2022. Not because I think this is a significant astrological event, not at all but because there is such power in choosing your calendar and celebrating whatever you damn well please. We need that.
Astrologer Rick Levine writes of the 8/8 Lions gate “it is a fabricated event and has absolutely no basis in astrology. The term was coined to describe an Aquarius Lunar Eclipse in 1998. The justifications for it are based on misinterpretations, half-baked facts, and outright fictions. However, power is generated when many minds are focusing on the same thing collectively, even if their synchronization is based on nonsense. Nevertheless, we can derive even more benefit now by meditating on the majesty of the Lioness rather than the brute force of the Lion as we envision an anti-colonialist, non-patriarchal version of this profound s. Roar less; love more. Author Marianne Williamson wrote, “Each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world.”
Well Said!! It reminds me of an amazing Yoga Studio near my home. I am not sure what type of yoga they practice, and I have studied yoga for a long long time. The classes are never the same and have an air of improvisation to them that old me would have gotten very brussily about. But in the consistent attempt to find the vibe and healing that is right for that moment, for that particular group of people, these teachers unlock passages to subtle realms that hold bocks and healings that are divine. The fly in the face of convention and it is sooo good.
As luck would have it, 8/8 is actually a very auspicious day for Mercury-related tasks. The planet of commerce and communication is in his home and exaltation of Virgo. This is just great MOJO. If you have a business or a project that involves writing, creating, or communicating it is a fabulous space in time to start. Even if you have only dreamed of writing that song or memoir or creating that keystone body of work, today, wake up shower, and just start-even if it is only one word. The intention behind putting your best foot forward could not be better.

Change is GOOD. Remember that <3 as Uranus is all over this week’s astrology! What are examples of what Uranus has to offer in our experience as humans? The one thing I feel strongly about is our need to start or continue to make authentic and unusual choices. As tradition falls away our genetic codes that link to ancestral ties are still so strong, but there is a demand to redefine your path forward.
Time to SHAKE THINGS UP, friends. Independence and freedom are what you crave and playing nice just to keep the peace will no longer work, in other words go on with your weird self. But, wait. After every time there is a Uranian transit moment personally and in the collective, Saturn is waiting a few degrees away to reassert his power. What is this cycle showing us? Look for this pattern and plan accordingly. It’s pretty damn hard, if at all possible, to defeat Saturn. But clear planning and methodical discipline (once all of your ducks are in a row) can help redirect his attention from you or your thoughts, feelings, values, and passion to somewhere else. Preferably back to areas of his domain like governmental structures for example.
The recurring patterns of the week may take some of the qualities associated with Uranus, which includes: the principles of change, rebellion, freedom, liberation, reform, revolution, and the unexpected breakup of structures (These are the keywords Richard Tarnus offers in Cosmos a Psyche) and marry them with the qualities of every planet that transits Uranus this week. Nervous tiding up will be an urge in the backdrop because VIRGO and the thought of getting organized is soothing. There is so much out of our control at the moment, be what is in our control? In 2022, whether you know it or not, we begin creating structures to support our meaning-making in this new triplicity terrain. There is a great need to be flexible with discipline + accept shorter-term goals and projects that may be better for other earthlings who indeed are saturated with their own trauma or just need help processing emotions and given endless grace to learn how to handle epic frustration.
As a reminder, In December 2020 we shifted elements triplicities and that was a huge deal. The great or grand conjunction of 2020 was when Jupiter and Saturn conjunct and started a new 240 year cycle in AIR. As we move from EARTH to AIR a semi square between Uranus and Neptune that was active from February 6-March 2, 2021 felt as a "pervasive transformation of a culture's underlying vision," a description Author + Astrologer Richard Tarnas this began to set the foundation for a Creative Renaissance.
