On April 1, 2023, in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, 12-year-old Kain Heinland was with friends Nolan Grove, 13, and Miles Belleman. Nolan had his father’s loaded pistol, which he displayed and played with throughout the day, while Miles had a BB gun. Later, Nolan pointed the gun at Kain multiple times, which led to a fatal shot to Kain’s back as they walked through a neighbor’s yard. Nolan and Miles fled, with Nolan eventually calling his father, while Miles' parents contacted 911. Despite initial charges being delayed, Nolan faced trial for third-degree murder and other charges, with Kain’s family seeking justice.. Nolan, charged as an adult, could face a minimum of 40 years in prison.

Today's episode begins at 20:27 and yes we chat a lot today, but I promise it is all relevant to the case and our own personal experience inside the classroom, because this is something we are passionate about.
Teachers and staff members working with special education students in the Northside Independent School District expressed their distress over a series of violent incidents, highlighting the urgent need for improved staffing, training, and support. The plea for action came in the wake of a tragic event on February 17, 2024, when Alfred "Mr. Fred" Joseph Jimenez, a 73-year-old instructional assistant at Brandeis High School, sustained fatal injuries while attempting to intervene with a student. Jimenez's death was deemed a homicide and is under investigation by the San Antonio Police Department.

On June 6, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a post-graduation trip turned tragic when 18-year-old Blake Linkous emerged with a stab wound, revealing the murder of his ex-girlfriend Natalie Martin. The two had dated for three years, but their relationship ended in February 2023 after an alleged assault by Blake. The day before Natalie's murder, they argued over her texting another man. Blake was arrested two days later, suspected of strangling Natalie. The community mourned Natalie's vibrant spirit, and Blake's bond hearing sparked outrage as the judge set a $150,000 bond, emphasizing Blake's non-violent history. Blake will be on house arrest, wear an ankle monitor, and undergo a mental evaluation due to concerns about self-harm and potential suicidal tendencies.

Welcome back, estudiantes! Today’s episode begins around the 18:30 mark…we had a lot to chat about before we started.
In a tragic incident on June 25, 2022, 22 teenagers were found dead at Enyobeni Tavern in East London, sparking investigations into the circumstances. Underage access to the bar raised concerns and led to the revocation of its liquor license. Witnesses reported a suffocating smell, suggesting a possible gas leak, while forensic analysis hinted at substance ingestion or inhalation, with methanol identified as a potential factor. The ongoing investigation has resulted in arrests for serving alcohol to minors, and the South African National Civic Organization is supporting the victims' families. SAPS seeks public assistance as the community awaits answers.

A custodian at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York, arrived to work just after 6 am on January 16th, 1986 only to find someone slumped over by one of the school's side-entrance doors; he immediately phoned local law enforcement. When police arrived, they discovered that the "someone" was only a child-- a child who had been violently and senselessly attacked. After his identity was discovered and an autopsy was performed, a full-scale investigation began. Despite strong efforts by law enforcement, nearly 37 years later we are still wondering how he got to the school, why he wasn't dressed for the weather, and (most importantly) who could have taken his life. This is the case of Shawn Edwards.

On July 30, 2016, at a house party for teenagers a mass shooting occurred. The party goers attended the University of Washington and Kamiak High School in the community of Mukilteo, Washington. Three people were killed and a fourth was injured.
After the chaos stop and 911 had been dispatched the gunman fled the scene. Ninety minutes after the shooting, 19-year-old Allen Christopher Ivanov, was arrested. On August 2, he was charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder, and assault.
On December 19, 2016, to avoid the death penalty, Ivanov waived his right to appeal his sentence and pleaded guilty to the killings. On January 12, 2017, Ivanov was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Now let's get to the creepy case Ashleigh has for you and just in time for the new Scream movie that is coming out soon. This is obviously not a promotion for the movie, but two young boys from California became a walking promotion for the movie when they allowed the movie to inspire their heinous murder. Mario Padilla and his younger cousin Samuel Ramirez, killed Mario's mother Gina Castillo, 37 years old in her home. She called 911 and her husband as she died on the living room floor. This is sorta happy hour and sorta not. It is a case that involves a school shooting and the death of a teacher, however the main focus of this case is about the teacher and the life she lived. Jean Kuczka was an extraordinary educator and gave her life for her students. This is her story and her moment to be reconizged.
However, if you would like to hear more about the murderer please let us know on our socials and Ashleigh could bring us a mini-lesson on this case and what happened.

Ashleigh misspoke when discussing the relation of this case to the Paris Lee Bennett case, she meant to say that Paris' mother was still fostering a relationship with Paris throughout his trial and after he was sent to prison
Jeanine Cammarata was a young teacher, devoted mother, and a woman trying to move on with her life. Micheal Cammarata and girlfriend at the time Ayisha Egea however had other plans for Jeanine. They murdered Jeanine, burned her body and dumped it in a storage facility while her children were in the car. The motive you ask, well buckle for this one, because it is wild. This case was new to me, but Ashleigh knew about the "party that will always be remembered". This is the case of Tyler Hadley, a 17 year old boy from Florida who murdered his parents in their home with a claw hammer and then threw a house party with their bodies still in the home. Witnesses remember this night and are still shocked with the evidence that was right in front of their faces.

Sorry for the delay on this episode, but as we mentioned our audio was giving us a major headache and we didn't want to put out an episode we weren't proud of. Thank you for understanding and sticking with us.
Episode 37 is very heavy and tragic. This is the case of Damilola Taylor. He was a 10 year old boy who was brutally murder in the streets of South London in 2000. His murders Danny and Ricky Preddie were not caught until 6 years after the murder took place. There were many injustices in this case and Damilola's memory should never be forgotten.

This is episode 34 and it is literally unpredictable. As Ashleigh went through this case I thought I had it solved, but boy was I wrong. This is the case of Sharon Carr, who is better known as "The Devil's Daughter". Sharon is the youngest female murder in Britain. She brutally murdered Katie Rackliff, an 18 year old girl leaving a night club. Sharon was only 12 years old when she committed this horrific murder. Listen as we go through this tragedy.

We took a survey a few weeks ago and our results showed that you guys would be open to a case like this and our take on the matter, so we are giving it a go. This is episode 32!
The Cleveland Elementary School shooting was a school shooting that took place on January 29, 1979, in San Diego, California. Although no children lost their lives the principal and a custodian were killed due to the actions of Brenda Spencer. Brenda Spencer is America's first female school shooter. She used a . 22-caliber rifle from her family's house across the street. This case goes deeper then anyone could have imagined and it still leaves people with questions today.

We have been tagged in this IG video twice and are so incredibly stoked because we all know that students don't learn in government-funded classrooms. The beautiful and immaculate classrooms that you see all over social media are actually funded by teachers themselves! With that being said, we give a major shout out to @teacherwishlists on IG and Tik Tok. She's posted TENS OF THOUSANDS of teacher wish lists with the hopes that teachers will be gifted what they need to kick off the school year right with their kiddos. Click here for the massive list of teachers' amazon wish lists. Anything helps :) Also, shoutout to one of our listeners, Miss Rider! She's number 502 on the list <3
It's not your typical happy hour episode, but nonetheless we are bringing you a case that will have you all over the place. There is no guest today, so you are stuck with us again! Enjoy!
Today's case is brought to you by Brooke. This is the case of Raymond Payne, an English teacher that was convicted of the murder of Debbie Gama, his high school student. This case brings us all the way to 2020, the height of the pandemic and please hang on tight this case has a major turn.

Today's episode is brought by Brooke and be warned she goes on a rant at the end (but one worth having). This is the case of Pedro Bravo, who murdered his best friend Christian Aguilar over love. Pedro was charged with first-degree murder and the other six counts in August 2014. He still claims he is innocent while in prison, although the evidence says otherwise.

Thank you for all the emails and DM's. We love hearing from you. Keep em' coming and welcome to episode 27. We are bringing you some cross curriculum today as we discuss history and the justice system.
Episode 27 is brought to you by Ashleigh and warning we get heated in this case today and rightfully so. George Stinney Jr. from South Carolina was wrongfully convicted and executed at 14 years old for the murder of two young girls, Betty June Binnicker, 11, and Mary Emma Thames, age 7. After more than 70 years George Stinney Jr. has officially been exonerated (2014), but that will never be enough to undo what was done. The young girl's real killer was never found or convicted and tragically three beautiful lives were lost.

Today's episode is the murder of 19-year-old Sarah Stern from Neptune, New Jersey. Her car was found abandoned on a bridge in the early hours by an Uber driver. Her case remained cold for over two months with theories swirling around as to what might have happened to Sarah. It wasn't until a young man came forward with information that broke the case wide open. However, her body has still yet to be found.

MERCH REMINDER - JULY 18th (crew necks, t-shirts, tumblers)
Hello Everyone and sorry for the two day delay... you know LIFE kicks your butt sometimes.
This is our very first "high profile" case on Teachers Talk Crime and it still baffles me that Ashleigh did not know about the Natalee Holloway case prior to this. So, we hope we did it justice and as always DM us with your own thoughts and theories.
Natalee Ann Holloway was born on October 21, 1986 and disappeared in Aruba on May 30, 2005. This made her only 18-years-old when she was last seen. This All-American young woman's mysterious disappearance made international news after she couldn't be located by her classmates the next morning. She is still considered missing to this day (17 years later) and although there are many theories and speculation no one has yet to be charged in her vanishing. If you have any information regarding Natalee Holloway please contact your local FBI office.

Although Ashleigh said this was episode 22 it is in fact 23. Can you even believe that?
Today, however we are bringing you something a little different. Brooke will be presenting you with all the evidence, findings, interviews, family drama, and insides of the Holton family. A family from Eclectic, Alabama. This is the story of Madison Holton and the murders of April and Michael Holton. Listen closely and decide what you think of this case and as always Ashleigh and Brooke will give their opinions at the end. Hold on tight this case as that small town drama you see on TV.

On Aug. 15, 2016, Martin County Sheriff’s Office deputies found 19-year-old Austin Harrouff on top of 59-year-old John Stevens, eating the flesh on his face and making growling sounds like a dog. Inside the garage deputies also found 53-year-old Michelle Mishcon, beaten, bloodied and unresponsive. Austin Harrouff, who believed he was God, half man half dog, a robot when he wore his fit-bit and immortal was arrested and detained. He still is deemed not fit to stand trial. Therefore, there is no verdict to be said in this case.

Brooke is bringing us today's episode and as you saw from the title we are discussing one of the youngest American serial killers, Harvey Robinson. This is again a case of nature vs. nurture, because Harvey grew up in a troubled home that was full of abuse and abandonment. Harvey's father was an alcoholic and also convicted of murder before Harvey was born. However in the early 90's Harvey went on his murderous rampage and murdered three females varying in ages and left two survivors before being arrested while covered in blood and baked beans.

Today's case is brought you by Brooke and it takes place in Europe. This is the case of Aaron Campbell a 16 year old boy who kidnapped, raped, and murdered 6 year old Alesha MacPhail. Drink of choice for this full moon:
Ashleigh and Lugo were sipping on the NEW 3 canned cocktails by Crown Royal: Peach Tea, Whiskey Cola, and Apple. They said these were amazing and the packaging was 10/10. Brooke, however was sipping on the Vizzy seltzers, because that's all she had, but all in all 6/10.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you amazing mamas out there! You are rockstars, you are amazing, you are beautiful, and you are doing GREAT! So, shout out to all the amazing moms who are a part of the Teachers Talk Crime class!
Today's case is brought to you by Ashleigh. This is the murder of Maddie Clifton. On November 3, 1998, Josh Phillips, 14 years old, murdered Maddie Clifton, 8 years old, and shoved her corpse under his waterbed in his home, sleeping on top of her body for a week before his mother found her and reported it to police. When Maddie Clifton disappeared, the entire neighborhood came together, desperately looking for her, all while she was right across the street. This case has been widely covered and we encourage you to go listen to more about Maddie Clifton.

Loaded Tea Flavor of the week: Daisy Duke (this is a specialty tea with collagen and electrolytes)
Welcome back and happy Monday TTC peeps!
This is episode 13 and we are going all the way across the world for this one. We are International BABY! This is the Stella High school Murders!
The 20-year-old Xander Bylsma's court appearance in 2020 follows an incident in which two girls - Marna Engelbrecht, 17, and Sharnelle Hough, 16 - were killed on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in their dorm room at Stella High School. Xander Bylsma in a fit of jealous rage killed the two girls and stage the crime scene to make it look as though a double suicide had taken place. These two young girls who were just as beautiful on the inside as they were on the outside and were taken far too soon. We hope this case brings awareness to gender-based-violence in South Africa and we can put an end to these horrific crimes.

Loaded Tea Flavor of the week: Captain America (It is so pretty and tart)
First and foremost, this is a long episode, but I promise you won't want to miss this. So, grab your loaded tea (maybe a splash of extra caffeine) and let's get into it.
This case involves: werewolves, vampire freaks, an 11 year old, vials of blood, and murder! This is the case of Jasmine Richardson, 11 years old and her "boyfriend" Jeremy Steinke, 23 years old (and yes you read that right). This deadly duo, plotted and murdered Jasmine's entire family in the dead of the night with no remorse, because they felt they were being forced apart. Jasmine became the youngest person in Canada history to be charged with triple homicide. This is sad, and a little uncomfortable to discuss but, we hope you listen as we get into a case that rocked my world and a plot twist that will leave you angry and confused.

On this week's episode, Ashleigh is covering a very recent case, almost too recent (quarantine edition). This is the case of Megan Newton, an 18 year old girl who was smart, ambitious and beautiful. Her life was taken from her far too soon by Joseph Trevor, a 19 year old acquaintance of Megan's with troubles of his own. A case of past trauma that was never resolved and an angel in the flesh helping anyone she could. Listen as we dive into the what is and what could have been.

This episode follows the case of Nicole Kasinskas. A 14 year old girl who plotted to kill her mother with her 17 year old boyfriend, Billy Sullivan.
