Welcome to the Cloaked Faerie Podcast! I’m your host, RJ.

  1. So who is the cloaked faerie? Well, me of course. But maybe you’re wondering, why the cloaked faerie?
  2. I have always loved the idea of faeries living alongside humans. Some like to say that fae live in a parallel space to ours, but I like to think of them as hiding in plain sight with things like glamours or disguises. I myself, being queer, have felt a little out of place trying to be a normal human, or at least the “normal” in our society being cis-gender and heterosexual.
  3. Cloaked, in that I have to hide my real self to blend in a lot, maybe as the fae have done, since they see how humans harm each other over our own differences. A lot of us hide because we don’t feel safe letting ourselves be known for fear of scrutinies or downright bullying.
  4. Together the Cloaked Faerie persona lives in-between a lot of ideas and outside of a lot of norms. Sometimes falling to the shadows to stay safe, but always seeking the light of hope that drives out the shadows in the first place.

Welcome to the Cloaked Faerie Podcast! I’m your host, RJ and today we’ll be talking about Earth core which encompasses plants, grounding oneself, and attention to nature and her changes. This will, honestly, be a major theme overall for this podcast, but today I wanted to give you a surface sample of what Earth core means to me.

Earth centric:

  • Physical realm, the heavy plane of existence where the body resides;
  • Eco-conscience, thinking about how your actions affect the areas and people you interact with on this Earth;
  • People and creature awareness, sharing this planet with others and not just human life.

Our place in the universe:

  • Moon friend, the celestial body captured by our orbit and affecting water cycles and hormones for beings below;
  • Sun, brought forth our ecosystem but also now overpowered;
  • Stars, guiding lights literally mapping the sky and it’s motions across time.

Later episodes will cover:

  • Seasons and cycles on our planet;
  • Plants, plants and more plants!
  • And much more in the way of fae and magic!

Hey and welcome to the Cloaked Faerie Podcast. I’m your host RJ and today I wanted to give you an idea of who I am and what this podcast is and will be about.

I am a nonbinary writer, who focuses on fantasy stories that highlight queer people and our issues, trials, and celebrations. In my free time, I read books on metaphysical topics and magic. My magic path has wound from restrictive Christianity, through agnosticism and new age, to a druid focused path. I focus my practices on nature and community.

This podcast will be home to the pages I want to share from my notes. I’ll talk about basic magic things like the moon, elements, and seasons. But I’ll also discuss tougher topics like coming out, mental health, and eco-grief and how they can influence your magic. Even when we talk about tough things though, I want to leave you with hope. May this podcast bring solidarity and comradery between many different groups of people who share similar beliefs and values. I hope you all find something to connect to in the coming episodes.
