Power became the crucial factor in understanding my occupation as muse. Musing is foremost an act of creation, and creation is the most formidable act of power. If women are muses, then men are not their artists, but their audience.
https://medium.com/@biancavivion/the-danger-of-being-a-muse-757ba3c9c309
As the patriarchy grew stronger, credit was no longer given to the nine deities, and the power of creativity was assumed by men. The term ‘muse’ was then transferred to the women whom the artist loved, the artist being almost exclusively male. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the power dynamics between muse and creator were warped so much that it was almost one of the requirements of the muse to be left behind.
The creator is always male in these failed attempts, and the woman is often the frail, feminine counterpart that is only revered for her beauty, if revered at all.
women who are inclined to situate themselves in culture are persuaded to be contented and elated in the role of the muse, to distract her from the fact that she herself has such a huge capacity to be the creator.

part 1 of a few part series. idk there’s a lot to cover but basically i think so much of being alt or goth these days is so performative and disregards the actual subcultures these aesthetics arose from. like would you do it if you weren’t getting praised for being a goth baddie? that’s not very goth to me. doing thick winged eyeliner and posting it to a deftones song is the new norm i fear. arguably being alt or goth could be the new basic especially when its so surface level. also i think tying yourself to one specific aesthetic or identity is kind of redundant like you are more complex than just your ‘brand’ and wanting to dull yourself into one niche feels like a way to be more digestible which is a really common thing women have been taught to do to make themselves easier for men to like. there’s a difference between personal style based off lived experiences and dressing like every next pinterest board cos it’s trendy to listen to mazzy star and smoke straights again.

the only way i can describe what i mean is you know how birds just sing. they don’t try to be good at it they just do it. imagine if they were trying to be the best some birds would stop because they’d develop insecurities about not being good enough. it sounds fucking stupid. so basically what i’m saying is if you don’t do something just cos ur not the best or don’t think you’re very good you’re fucking stupid.

The law of detachment is rarely explained properly. To me it’s becoming okay with any outcome. Lots of people seem to think it means not caring or pretending something doesn’t matter. If you constantly tell yourself you don’t care surely you will attract careless people or things?
I think a lot of people have become okay with being complacent and just expecting things to fall into place for them if they do a few affirmations or drink some moon water. Action is at the core of any form of manifestation and this is something I constantly see being disregarded.
There is nothing wrong with going after what you want and potentially experiencing failure as a result of that. It is better to fail and have tried than not try at all. We are hardwired to create things as a species, not just to wait for those things to create themselves.
By my logic, if it is true that we attract what we are, I would rather chase and attract people that also want to chase and build something for themselves, than people that just wait around for things to happen to them.

Wanting attention is part of our social nature as humans. However, for many, especially women, it has become tied to our sense of worth. How much attention we get, how much we want, whether we deserve it, and what we do with it when we have it become markers of our morality and class, subject to others' judgment.
Recently, I’ve been trying to observe my need for attention without judgment. I’ve noticed it functions like a social battery that ebbs and flows. Instead of judging this need, perhaps it’s better to monitor it.
I find that when I crave more attention, it often coincides with feelings of loneliness or a desire to express something important. Unfortunately, wanting attention has been demonized with labels like "attention seeker" or "egoic." We've tied people's worth to their desire for attention, despite it being a natural human mechanism for facilitating diverse interactions. Instead of developing this social skill, we have shamed people into viewing it as a taboo.

I have always found the concept of ‘networking’ a bit weird. It feels inauthentic and I don’t like it. I understand that success and how many people know you are directly correlated, but isn’t there a better way to be successful than telling everyone in the smoking area you’re making a 6 track neo-funk EP and then making everyone listen to it?

I feel like over sharing is a part of learning basic communication but it’s interesting the ways that we overshare in different situations and how it changes our perceptions of people.
I also speak a bit about masking and oversharing as a way to relate and how this sometimes has the opposite effect and just makes things weird and awkward.

I genuinely couldn’t tell you what I spoke about in depth here but I will list some bullet points I do apologise.
- when old people tell you how hard they had it back in the day
- why struggling is unnecessary
- how to self soothe and why tantrums as a child are important
- no one is responsible for catering to your triggers it is your responsibility to work on them yourself
- you can set boundaries about literally anything
- consciousness
- we all view the same problems with a different lens

Like many other girls, I always tried to fit into the cool girl image of not caring so much, going with the flow and not worrying about what I look like. And then I realised that all of these things do not represent me in the slightest. It does upset me if I break a nail, or if my outfit isn't coming out the way I envisioned it in my head.
And with this realisation I decided to lean into it. To begin to put as much time into myself as felt right for me and see how it made me feel. I noticed a drastic shift in my self esteem and confidence, and most importantly I feel so much more authentic within myself.
Like any change, it comes with pushback. If you change something within yourself, your external environment will always shift accordingly and for me it meant a disconnect with people around me who started to mock me or scoff at me for choices that felt better for me.
Although the conversation of wanting to look good seems shallow or superficial, for me it had an overwhelmingly big shift on my social circles as I found that the more time I invested into myself, the more firm I was on my boundaries.
I also find that the higher standard I hold myself to, the less tolerance I have for other people’s behaviour. Whereas before it was common place to make excuses for friends/family/colleagues, honouring yourself means not allowing the behaviour that isn’t in line with the newest version of you.

Have you ever been in a situation with someone who behaves like they're five years old, operates solely out of their ego and refuses to acknowledge criticism or take any accountability for their bad behaviour? It's jarring.
This podcast focuses on the recent series of Love Island and in particular Georgia Steel, who frequently behaves terribly and then when she receives backlash for her behaviour, uses gaslighting and manipulation tactics to either victimise herself or spin the blame onto anyone else, effectively avoiding all accountability.
Georgia is a great case study for this podcast to discuss the wider issues that surround this topic of how to deal with being manipulated, different communication tactics that can be used, and how to deal with this over an extended period of time where there is no option to remove yourself from the behaviour (think co-workers or family members.)
This podcast aims to decode manipulation tactics, so you can recognise behaviours early, help to set boundaries and build long term resilience.
This is in no way an attack on Georgia Steel but simply an observation of a wider pattern of behaviour for self growth purposes.

This podcast centres around the recent media frenzy of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who has recently been released from prison after killing her mother for years of abuse by munchausen by proxy.
I discuss the judgement and praise she is receiving and the many ways this has been replicated throughout recent media scandals in varying degrees of severity (Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard, Selena Gomez vs. Hailey Bieber etc..), and how quick opinions can change and the impact this can have on these public figures.
The main takeaway from this is how each situation is relative, regardless of which side of the coin you see and the view you look to take. To Gypsy Rose, prison was her first taste of freedom, showing how skewed her perceptions of life were compared to the average every day person. Can you truly judge someone whose idea of freedom was incarceration?
I leave you with this thought; If your life depended on it, would you kill for freedom?

At this time of year I typically begin to reflect on how things have been and how I can change things moving into the coming year. With that comes a lot of self reflection and part of that is acknowledging mistakes made as to not make them again.
While this is typically really beneficial to grow and understand flaws in yourself, this can lead to self deprecation and can create more internal struggles than positives taken from self reflection. I struggle a lot with feelings of guilt and criticising myself for things I’ve done in ways I wouldn’t criticise others and I think this is normal.
We are our own worst critics and in this podcast I talk about the realisations I’ve had to begin to move away from this narrative and back into the headspace of seeing my mistakes and faults as space to grow, not as detrimental flaws to my character that will never be forgotten.

Here are a list of recent mistakes I’ve been making and what I have done to counter them.
I speak about the way that knowing how to be authentic, or knowing when is the right or wrong time to be authentic, in a situation will be accepted by your peers. I think this is a definite struggle for people with ADHD or neurodivergent tendencies.
I also touched on the different ways that we tend to set ourselves unrealistic expectations, and how moving from one stage of our life to another can create a confusing mental shift in where we are vs where we should be. It can also be frustrating wanting other people to acknowledge these changes and can lead you to feel like you’re not doing enough if you don’t receive external validation.

This podcast discusses the different ways in which we lose people throughout our lives and the difficulties that come with it.
Losing people, wether it be platonic or not, can take a real toll on our self esteem and feelings of security, especially if these people were incredibly close to us and had helped us through things that no one else had. It can make us feel as though we have a lack of support system, we can’t trust people as easily as we once thought, or make us feel a sense of impermanence that we as humans strive for.
Humans don’t like change, we like things to be predictable and times like these, while typically necessary for our overall growth into new periods of our life, can really rock our mindsets and how we deal with things.
This podcast goes through the history of dealing with loss in unhealthy ways and how much harder it can be to finally deal with something properly, instead of using unhealthy coping mechanisms or distractions.

This period is a strange one, with multiple planets in retrograde and the recently passing super full moon in pisces that won’t happen again for another 12 years; emotions will be running high, giving us a time for deep introspection and self evaluation.
You may have noticed an increase in tensions in your usually secure relationships, or be reconnecting with old friends. Either way, things probably aren’t moving as they usually do. This is the point of these different astrological episodes, they give us the time to see things from a different angle, allowing for new perspectives and shifts in our narrative.
There’s not really too much to say about this podcast and I am not an astrological guru but i hope it provides some insight on why you may be feeling out of sorts, for better or for worse.

In this podcast I touch on the recent controversy surrounding Madeline Arch’s recent TikTok about sundown towns that has upset many people. Sundown towns are places in America where black people face structural racism by all white communities that do not accept different ethnicities.
For this podcast I wanted to touch on both sides of the argument, but dive deeper into the theme of ignorance, and how difficult it can be to be fully aware of how all our actions and behaviours can affect different groups when we aren’t fully aware of how they affect different ethnicities when we haven’t grown up in an environment that has taught us about the difficulties that these groups face.
I would really like to express that I am coming from a place of objectivity and understanding as to why this topic has caused such a level of controversy and speaking on ignorance is only to push people to learn more about different ethnicities, cultures, and races to prevent issues like this from happening in the future.

Throughout history there have been consequences for being authentic and doing what’s right for us. Wether it’s being gay in a time period where it was forbidden, or harbouring Jews during the Nazi reign because it was morally right to provide aid to those in need, there have always been people that will stand up for what’s right for them, regardless of social attitudes.
This podcast stems from a discussion that took place on wether or not children should be allowed to question things around them that adults take at face value and that this should be taken as a sign of thinking for yourself, not being disobedient.
This debate spans from minor issues, such as apology etiquette and social norms, to much more triggering issues that fall in the realms of taboo such as sexuality, religion, and cultural differences.
Regardless of what you think, the line is blurred. Mutual respect without understanding is impossible so I think for us to develop as a society, allowing people to question things is crucial to our growth.

We speak about everything music related from his influences, setbacks and limitations, inspirations and skills he’s developed learning to song-write and produce. He also touches on the issues he has faced surrounding rugby culture and how this prevented him from being able to be authentic about his sexuality and how this has inspired his music.
We also speak on the recent Paris riots due to the unjust killing of Nahel M, a 17 year old boy of Algerian decent, by a police officer. Police brutality, class wars, and the hierarchal debate are all strong themes of discussion in this podcast as we touch on British protests and the limitations placed upon our rights to protest due to the amendments of the Public Order Bill that restrict our rights to free speech.

According to psychologist Cannon, fight, flight, fawn and freeze are ‘unconscious and automatic series of fast-acting reactions occurred inside the body to help assemble resources the body needs to manage threatening circumstances’*.
In this podcast I discuss the ways in which these responses can hinder us and different ways you can learn to navigate around them in order to have more harmonious relationships.
I also speak about how these responses typically enable us to continue bad patterns or toxic habits just because it’s what’s familiar and what we know, but how this can be detrimental to the people around us if we are unable to look beyond the story our brain is telling us or view things from another perspective.

I used to be a professional job hopper by trade. Any time I felt disrespected, out of control, or simply didn’t enjoy it; I would quit on the spot with no notice. While this wasn’t ideal for any sense of job permanence, it taught me many things.
In this podcast I talk about the skills I have learned through working in 10+ jobs and how to set work boundaries and communicate with management so that you don’t feel you have to walk out or leave, and if you try these things and still aren’t being listened to or respected, easy ways to walk into a new job the very next day.
These things range from understanding your personal preferences for shift patterns to find a level of consistency, to speaking about the ‘minimum wage minimum effort’ mindset that many of gen Z have adopted. I also touch on my issues as someone with adhd navigating the working world and ways I have made this easier for myself through trial and error.

This podcast idea comes heavily from the themes discussed in this video. https://youtu.be/MqduBBzInHA
Since I have been interested in self development, self-awareness and growth, I have realised there’s a fine balance between acknowledging the work you’ve done, and never thinking you’re good enough. This same ideology can be transferred to learning any skill wether it be a sport, job, or hobby.
Over the last 3 years I have found that self doubt and self judgement or guilt for not being where you think you should be is incredibly common if you’re constantly striving towards a goal that seems unachievable.
In this podcast I talk about the ways this can halt our progress and make us doubt ourselves, despite how far we already have come.

We all judge people. It’s part of our psychological conditioning to judge our surroundings as part of making informed decisions, but what we often forget is that we are all judging through different lenses due to our individual life experiences.
Whereas we may not understand what someone else has been through, or may not see that it would affect us, we should be able to have the empathy to remove judgement and step out of our own shoes when people are in need.
I speak briefly about the difference between divine feminine and masculine, and the ways they present in humans, aswell as touching on RSD within ADHD from my personal experience and how judgement affects neurodivergent people differently.

In this episode I am joined by a guest host and good friend, Ro. We speak about the different ways your friendships can benefit and impact you, and how it's important to be able to have friends for a range of different purposes, some might be good for venting and allowing you to feel heard but don't possess a side of spontaneity, whereas others might be the most fun but lack a deeper level of connection.
When we are lacking one of these key areas in our lives that allow us to feel fulfilled, it can be easy to begin spotting flaws in friends and especially if there is already a pre-existing lack of communication in the relationship, these flaws can manifest into full blown resentment for your needs not being met (think love languages.)
Thankyou to Ro for being a great guest.

In this episode I speak about how we are socialised from a capitalist standpoint to be an active member of society so that we can be profited from, and the issues that this causes within us as we lose the ability to express ourselves freely.
I mention the different ways men and women are socialised and how our society benefits from keeping us in these boxes although it is commonly at the detriment of our mental states. While men struggle to express emotion and upset but are pushed towards aggression and more 'active' behaviours, women are forbade from appearing 'manly' or aggressive but are much more in tune with their emotions. These stereotypical traits come purely from learned behaviour and make it difficult for each of these genders to live authentically.
I think it's also important to mention the trans community within this discussion. they are consistently breaking the boundaries of what should be expected of humans that are constantly being forced into boxes that don't fit them. If gender is to be looked at from a black and white perspective, the trans community provides a grey area that often makes people that conform to these unrealistic expectations of gender norms wildly uncomfortable. The same way that Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. understood that making people uncomfortable was necessary for change, the trans community consistently break these norms, often resulting in devastating physical or emotional violence.
All I can hope is that one day the brave actions of the trans and wider LGBTQ+ community becomes so normalised that these stereotypes that are constantly pushed upon us become so outdated that we are free to live authentically without expectations.

As a society, we don't like to process change. This goes back to our primitive roots where new animals/tribes/foods proposed unknown threats and what was safe was what was recognisable. As much as this enabled us to get to where we are today and evolve into what we have become, we are still using these fight or flight responses for things that no longer require them. We close ourselves off from opportunities or new relationships because they propose a threat to our 'perceived security.'
I mention government systems and how we are governed by a set of outdated rules and regulations that no longer work to control the masses, and how there are visible cracks and flaws in the system that are only growing with time. The systemic oppression that was once accepted and widely enforced by the media as a means of coercive control, no longer has the power over us to shift our mindsets, making these cracks more visible. I spoke briefly on the American TikTok ban and how this is the governments way of silencing our newfound voice, as this platform has become a way to communicate about the hardships we endure that aren't broadcast on the media.
Finally I speak about personal relationships, jobs, and everyday hardships that come up around this time of year as we decide what is good for us, what is bad for us, and how difficult it can be to make choices based on this information.
How To Celebrate Beltane (May Day): Rituals, Traditions, & Ideas (teaandrosemary.com)
We all have toxic traits. These are often the things that, if we allowed ourselves to understand and express, would help our growth exponentially. However, because of the stigma around authenticity, toxic positivity and fake 'nice', we have built this idea that any negative traits or flaws cannot be expressed or shared unless it equates into something that can be used to boost social media engagement, meaning we water down our toxic traits into conversations that will be more 'palatable' as to not disrupt peoples inaccurate ideas of who we are.
This takes away from what true growth is. It's not pretty, and often results in drastic life changes that no one is prepared for but is necessary for true change. Walking on egg shells around what troubles you, makes you angry and the way you genuinely feel towards things is one of the most counter intuitive things you can do.
It's essential to understand that to grow as a person, it's essential to constantly put yourself in situations that make you uncomfortable, no more 'we don't talk about that.' How many of you were told not to bring up certain topics around your parents because it would make them uncomfortable and lead to you walking on egg shells not knowing what was acceptable to bring up or not? Don't repeat those cycles, you'll soon realise the things that were triggers for you come from a place of misunderstanding or misjudgement that can be easily fixed.

In the final instalment of my Misrepresentation of Drum and Bass series, I speak with Russ, a DJ, radio and podcast host and owner of the Interstellar Audio record label.
We speak about his journey through the scene from being an aspiring DJ to the transition period of becoming more of a creator into his own podcast and label. Russ speaks on how his own DnB podcast allows him to combine his love for the scene and the music and combine the two types of media.
We also touched on the increasing popularity of DnB and how this could be affecting the scene and changing the way that the music, raves, and culture is experienced. Also, the broad nature of the genre and how two tracks that fall under the DnB 'umbrella' can be so vastly different, proving that there's something for everyone, wether you're a fan of Latte or Calibre.
We also discussed the concept of branding and how creating a brand identity is crucial to engagement, but building an image, especially when as humans we are constantly evolving, can leave use feeling inauthentic. We speak about Dom Whiting and how he made his authenticity a brand. He took what he wanted to do and the brand followed, not vice versa.
Thankyou to Russ for speaking to me and being the final instalment of this DnB chapter.

I feel like I have huge life revelations every 5 minutes that make me want to restructure my whole cerebrum. However, the older I get I do think there is more of a scale to how deep something is. I do not deep things the way I did in year 8 simply because I have learned from those experiences and learned not only how to handle them better but also that there are quite frankly much more important things going on in my life that I could get mad about.
I am not trying to sound smart. It's 2:34 in the morning and I just think I made some good points but writing a bio for this is really difficult and unfortunately I am not Kadinsky and do not have the mediums available to create some wildly elaborate art piece to perfectly explain my theories. Just listen if you want this is very difficult to articulate.
Love you.
Being told you're a gifted child growing up because you did well on a couple tests when you were 6 sets an unrealistic expectation for what life will be. Not all of us are academics with the retention skills to pass tests with 80% every time. This is not only draining, it also sets us up to believe we are nothing more than the grade on our paper.
Along with the fact that so many parents base their love and affection off the performance of their children proves that love is transactional based off academic success, conditioning us to believe that academics and consistently performing to a high standard in one area of our life is essential, inevitably leading to burnout in later life.
Some of us are academics, some of us are not, and our worth shouldn't be based on how well we perform but who we are and the qualities we hold.

I feel like I see a lot of information online depicting the negative sides of mental health and signs to spot when it's getting bad again or you're beginning to fall into bad habits. Especially around this time of year I think many of us are susceptible to the vicious cycle of lower mental health as work/school/uni pressures increase and the weather worsens.
I wanted to provide a positive spin on this topic and speak about small things I've noticed in myself and from friends accounts that signify an improvement in their mental state and wellbeing. These things range from memory improvements and cognitive processing, to noticing lower levels of irritability and aggression when dealing with peers, to something as simple as looking forward to things again and actually experiencing feelings.
I also touch on medias depictions of mental health specifically focusing on Euphoria and Skins (this is brief as I do plan to do a separate podcast focuses solely on these shows and the impact they had on our perception of mental health.) I speak largely from personal experience on how my view of mental health was severely distorted because shows like Skins made me think unless I was visibly in the midst of a psychotic breakdown, I was fine. This in me, created the issue of not being able to tell when things were getting bad, therefore being unable to rewire my negative thought patterns or self destructive tendencies that would inevitably lead to worsening states of mental health.

This is my second instalment on Andrew Tate and focuses around the recent controversy involving him and Greta Thunberg involving how his online feud landed him in prison under trafficking charges.
A large focus of this podcast is around gender stereotypes and how Andrew Tate provides a fantasy escape for many young and impressionable men of the lavish and celeb lifestyle he lives, while perpetuating stereotypically misogynistic ideals with often little consequences. He promotes the idea that men can say and do what they want to women and be rewarded with success and riches. He does not have to put on a façade to succeed which is why I believe he's so popular.
I also feature a tiktok from Victoria De Vall who speaks on the 'lover boy' method of trafficking and explains how trafficking is not always being snatched off the street by a group of scary men, and can be much closer to home, involving manipulation and gaslighting techniques to financially profit off of these women, introducing the theme of the constant commodification of women and how normalised and covert this can be.
Victim blaming is also important to mention here as these manipulation techniques that involve tricking these women into believing they're loved often lead to men telling them it was their choice to enter into these trafficking industries and therefore the man is at no fault, proving that no matter how much abuse these men display, they will never be to blame.

I hate writing spiritual bios it cringes me out.
I don't hate talking about it tho.
Listen if you're interested.
Apparently I make storytimes now.
When I was 18 I made the worst decision of my entire life and joined quite literally a cult. This is actually wild so if u like sexism, motorway accidents, and capitalist propaganda then this is the podcast for u.
Please don't sue me.
For todays episode I speak about how we are taught through school, work, and social conditioning to never reach our full potential. We are taught to be good workers, accepted members of society and not question what we have been told even when there is no logic or rationality behind it.
I speak on two of my favourite authors, Bob Procter, a pioneer in the widespread acknowledgment of manifestation and self growth, and author of best selling book, The Secret, and David Icke, a BBC presenter turned spiritualist who speaks about how to live the life you want outside of societal norms.
I also speak on the ‘Illuminati’ and concept of celebrities selling their soul to the devil to achieve success and ritualistic examples throughout history as well as the 12 universal laws and how to apply them to achieve your goals.

For this episode of my Misrepresentation of Drum and Bass series I was joined by Bengo. He speaks on how his history within the music scene and previous knowledge geared him towards mixing and producing, and gives 3 pointers to any prospective DJs that he found aided his success.
We also touched on his involvement with the Traumatik controversy and he speaks on his personal experience with Traumz providing him a jumping point and the benefits of networking within the scene.
Bengo also speaks on the importance of consistency and dedication towards the art form, and how the covid-19 pandemic helped provide the time for him to hone his skills.

There is a repeating pattern throughout history of things being pushed underground by the system for no reason other than the people in power's feelings of fear towards the unknown. Whether it be prostitution, LGBTQ+ clubs pre legalisation, or the underground music scene, we have seen time and time again that there is no supply without demand.
We have an issue with people in positions of power (who are typically white due to the racial inequalities of our society) looking down on anything that doesn't follow their idea of what is considered 'acceptable or normal.' Just because it makes white, conservative, straight cisgender people with little experience of any other culture uncomfortable, it is not wrong.
Regardless of if it takes hundreds of years for behaviours to become normalised, or riots and protests to evoke change, the system is fundamentally flawed at every level. The fact you cannot broadcast music to a group of people without the possibility of facing charges or prison time further proves my point that police, the government, anyone in power hates whatever they don't understand.
In this podcast, I speak on pirate radio stations of the 90's, police's attitudes towards them, the ways the media conveys ideals of the underground scene based on upper class perceptions and the bubble up effect of when you cannot control the scene into what it has become today.

For todays podcast I speak on the recent controversy surrounding Mr Traumatic, a very well known MC within the DnB scene.
As you may be aware, he has recently put out an offensive tweet to not only the LGBTQ+ community, but also anyone who previously enjoyed his music, hosted his shows, or supported him prior.
I speak less on the debate between critics and supporters, and more about the influence that someone with these views and opinions has when influencing the younger generation. It’s important to recognise that although this comment is what has caused uproar, he has been using slurs specifically against women in his music since its inception.
The final question I have is; at what point is free speech a right and and what point does it become used as a tool for oppression based on your personal beliefs?

Dissociation is defined as a way the mind copes with too much stress, such as during a traumatic event. I speak on my personal experiences with dissociation and how scary it can be but also the real truth in how for generations, it has been used as a coping mechanism to endure abuse, trauma or painful situations without dealing with the emotions that arise as a result.
I discuss the old saying of ‘go to your happy place’ and how this has inadvertently taught generations of people to detach from their emotions and not deal with uncomfortable situations or emotions.
Towards the end of this podcast I speak on behalf of my good friend Joe, who has spoken many times about how hard it is as a man to become comfortable with his emotions and vulnerability and that the ideology and ‘stereotype’ of what it means to be a man in todays society is so rapidly shifting it makes it difficult to figure out where you stand.
I always struggle speaking on another group wether it be men, POC, LGBTQ+ community or any other marginalised group as I am well aware there are issues I will not have recognised as I don’t encounter these struggles personally. The most I can do is shed light on the people around me who share these experiences with me in the most empathetic and judgement free way possible, so we can collectively learn more about what different groups struggle with.
Insecurities are addressed much more openly and unapologetically in the media this year compared to previous years. However, I feel the lack of acceptance that growth can occur, limits these conversations. Feeling encased in the boxes that are based on our 15-year-old selves and their mistakes and misjudgements, can lead to issues with acknowledging our own growth and development. Because as a society we place so much value in what other people think of us, this can lead to resentment of our past when we should be able to look back and thank past versions of ourselves for getting us to where we are today, the present.
I discuss the negative memories from our adolescent years and childhood and how they affect our adult lives. The damaging effect of people failing to acknowledge personal growth and change is a common theme in this podcast and the frustrations that arise with this. The issue being that by creating this environment where change is not accepted, we struggle to appreciate our growth and personal struggles.
I also discuss how growth is never comfortable and taking off the rose tinted glasses and realising your shortcomings and toxic traits is a core and fundamental part of becoming self-aware because if you aren't aware of them, you will continue to repeat them - causing stress and strain on the relationships around you.
I will leave you with this: please let people change and acknowledge that comparing someone to the things they did when they were a child is not kind, fair, or necessary.
Andrew Tate has been everywhere in the media recently for his mysogynistic views on women and girls. Scratching beneath the surface poses a deeper question; is he himself the issue, or part of a much deeper collective problem surrounding the societal expectations of men and women throughout our history?
I speak on canalisation, which refers to the way in which parents channel children’s interests in activities or toys in conjunction with gender. This is one of the many subconscious ways we have been conditioned to create differences in men and women from a very young age, so that when we get older, abuse, marginalisation and sexism is normalised to the point we don’t even acknowledge it.
I am in no way excusing or appropriating the comments Andrew Tate has made on his platform, nor the devastating impact this could potentially have on the younger generation of boys, I just think it’s interesting to realise he is just one man amongst many with the same views and ideology of women, the only difference being his platform that allows us to criticise him for it.

For this episode of my misrepresentation of DnB series, I was fortunate enough to catch Chris Sika, the owner of SIKA Studios, which has been pillar in the underground scene for over 13 years. From music, to art, to festival stages, Chris and his brand have grown into a front runner for artists, ravers, and festival goers showcasing the best the underground scene has to offer.
Chris speaks on his roots stemming from the UK Hip Hop and graffiti scene. From his beginnings running graffiti shows at festivals to setting up one of the most legendary and memorable festival stages.
He gives advice for anyone looking to begin events management or people management and ran me through some of the logistics and not so obvious things that go into setting up the stage and issues that have arisen for him before so he knows what to change each year moving forward.

I was recently given the chance to interview Ross Sambridge aka Stumpz at the Rave For Ukraine event at Dare To Club.
This interview is a very special part of what this series means to me as Ross has recently been working the frontline in Ukraine amidst the ongoing war, disproving many of the stereotypes that go along with being involved in the DnB scene.
He speaks on the current situation in Ukraine, the effect this has had on him and his perspectives and mentions many different ways to donate which I will list below.
We also touched on his personal history with DnB from it’s roots in the 90s club scene and his evolution throughout the years.
A huge thankyou to Ross for not only allowing me the opportunity to speak to him, but also for shedding light on the help he is providing to a country that is struggling so severely.

For this episode as part of my Misrepresentation of DnB series I am joined by DJ and producer Formula where he discusses his latest EP, Warrior. We speak about the process from conception to creation, how he thinks of ideas, getting inspiration and the general process of producing a track. He also expands on the ideas behind each track on the EP and ways they came to fruition.
We also had the chance to have an open discussion about the positive ways that neurodiversity,
has aided his music and some of the struggles he faced growing up with ADHD, how his Caribbean roots have influenced his production and the connection between spirit and music.
Special thanks to Olly for being such an amazing guest in one of my favourite and funniest podcasts to record. Warrior EP is out now on streaming platforms linked below.

This podcast is pure ADHD with no real structure but I enjoyed it so that’s something!
Don’t listen if you don’t want to hear Elvis spoilers.
I did manage to talk about loneliness, the elite trying to control media and entertainment and of course linked it to dnb.
Shout out Elektrical Soundsystem specifically Rinse and Kilian.
Not much else to add really. This is not serious pls don’t listen too closely.
Love you bye xx
This podcast features my first guest DJ Loose as part of my misrepresentation of drum and bass series. He touches on his introduction to the scene with reggae and dub, and how he looks to venture into soundsytems and events management moving forward.
He also touches on how he believes moving forward in the scene we will see a revival in the popularity of vinyl and traditional methods as people look to honour the roots of the scene with a mix of modern technology.
Thankyou to Jack for being such a great guest!

In todays podcast I speak on the ways that the ego uses manipulation and toxicity to protect the 'story' we are constantly telling ourselves about our reality and our situation. Childhood development, early trauma and life experience all create our 'story' and the ego is constantly trying to uphold this for us to feel safe. In order to grow however, we need to be vulnerable enough to look outside of our story and our truth to see that there may be another perspective or avenue we can take to heal or grow from difficult life situations. Healing is hard, but sitting in your pain is harder.
I speak about how maturity = awareness and this comes from the life experience we obtain. We learn by looking outside of our 'story.' Being in a library but only reading one book could be seen as the highest form of ignorance there is.
Co-dependency is defined as excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a partner, typically one who requires support on account of illness or addiction.
'The tie that binds most of us together in this trap called co-dependency' - Oxford Languages
In this episode I am joined again by the queen herself, Xiggles. We speak on our histories with co-dependent relationships and how they've affected us, briefly explaining how school encourages co-dependency. We also speak about the issues that arise when co-dependency is combined with either diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health issues and disorders such as bpd and bipolar disorder.
This podcast is the second collaboration with Xi where we discuss the stigmatisation of weed in our society in comparison with the acceptance and promotion of alcohol. We speak on the way they affect you, the social events around them (420, football games etc..) and wow you with some amazing bars from Cypress Hill and Scoobs MC.
As always these are just our opinions based on our experiences and not meant to offend or upset anyone.
This podcast is the first episode in a new series I’m creating surrounding the misrepresentation and miseducation of drum and bass. This episode centres around the evolution of dnb and how it got to where it is today, featuring quotes from some legacies in the scene such as Fabio, Grooverider and Goldie. I also outline the basics of MC’s, DJing, the social media and technological advancement influences and a very weak explanation of production.
This podcast is also in collaboration with two of my good mates Louis and Leon (MC Scoobs & DJ Cloudy) Links to their Instagram:

This podcast features my first ever guest Xiggles! We speak on how we were introduced to the scene, some differences between dnb and mainstream music, and the communal aspect, aswell as our mad ad-lib skills.
Send in your guesses of the tune at the end to @eviebr0ck or @xixi_bm on instagram and the first correct guess will get a ticket bought to the next Bristol rave we go to.
In this podcast I speak on procrastination and laziness, and how the ever increasing standard for content creation can leave us feeling confused and disappointed with the quality of work we are producing. The need to create is what gives us purpose in our lives and with the 'content craze' of the 21st century, even though we are putting out great work, we may not feel seen or noticed due to our lack of exposure or resources. I speak on the 9-5 debate, managing a side hustle and trying to create in a society that promotes quantity over quality.
This podcast centres around the power imbalance between the government, specifically the conservative party, the police system and authority figures that use their power and status to create an environment that is continually benefiting them, while becoming more and more unsafe for the rest of the general public. I speak on the recent Angela Rayner controversy in the house of commons where she was supposedly 'purposely distracting' Boris Johnson by crossing her legs, the 15 year old who was unnecessarily strip searched at her school by police, and the universal credit cut debate.
In this podcast I speak from a readers perspective on the discrimination spiritualists experience that can have lasting effects on our perception of our craft. Using the psychological concept of schemas, along with the ways in which we are conditioned into our belief systems and values and how we can begin to deconstruct these to better understand ourselves and others.
In this podcast I speak on the ways spirituality has been misidentified and demonised and the effects this can have on spiritualists who practice genuinely and sincerely. I also speak on the ways we have learned to tie ourselves to our identity and the problems this creates living in a constantly evolving society.
In this podcast I speak on the recent Oscars controversy involving Chris Rock and Will Smith. I use this example to explain how blame culture is used in society and how through different tools, these emotions can be dealt with and give us a sense of security and power in the knowledge that we are always in control .
In this podcast I speak about the ways people try and enforce their opinions onto us without our consent. The separation between young and old is growing everyday with the advancement of technology and the digital divide is more noticeable than ever before. Always pretend the person in front of you knows something you don't.
In this podcast I speak on the various ways that society shuns and rejects different ideology, and how this hinders us. This includes the potential for medical treatment of different disorders such as PTSD or addiction with different psychedelics, the way we attack specifically young girls for engaging in metaphysical activities and the ways that oppression doesn't stop behaviour, but forces it underground, compromising the safety of those who do chose to engage.
In this podcast I speak on the importance of considering the bigger picture. There is a lot to be said for allowing yourself the time to acknowledge where you are, where you're going and why you're where you are now. This creates a sense of stability in the mind as while we know we cannot control things, we see a story of where our life is heading, helping us to feel less lost.
For this podcast I wanted to speak on the ways that the digital space is integrating with our physical space and how this could shape and affect the future of our society.
In this podcast I speak on the individuality of perspective and perception and how the media and religion paint an unattainable image of perfection that leads to irrational feelings of unworthiness.
For this podcast I look at the systems that enable and inhibit our sense of worthiness and look to define 'perfection' using different movies, artists and albums throughout history.
RIP Mac Miller and happy 30th birthday.
In this podcast I outline a few of the reasons that the phenomenon of the 'supernatural' is not accepted in society and how this inhibits our full potential for growth and development.
In this podcast I speak about the traits that connect these three infamous men and how they use their power, influence and status to continue illegal activity and the mechanisms that endorse these behaviours. I've pulled examples throughout history and pop culture to explain how these attitudes are replicated and accepted.
Hugs and kisses to all my bitches xo
