Prof. Eyal Zisser is the Vice-Rector of Tel Aviv University and the Yona and Dina Ettinger Chairholder in Contemporary History of the Middle East. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities 2010-2015, the Director of the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies 2007-2010, and the Head of the Department of Middle Eastern and African History. Prof. Zisser wrote extensively on the history and the modern politics of Syria and Lebanon and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Among his books: Assad’s Syria at a Crossroads (Tel Aviv, 1999); Asad’s Legacy – Syria in Transition (New York, 2000); Lebanon: the Challenge of Independence (London, 2000); Faces of Syria (Tel Aviv, 2003) Commanding Syria, Bashar al-Asad’s First years in Power (London, 2006); The Bleeding Cedar (Tel Aviv, 2009), Syria: Protest, Revolution, Civil War (Tel Aviv, 2014).
Prof. Zisser received his Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University. He was a visiting professor at Cornell University and a visiting research fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Dr. Baram is Professor Emeritus at the Department of Middle East Studies, University of Haifa. In 1986 He was awarded the Ph.D. degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for a dissertation on Ba’thi Iraq. Since then, Dr. Baram has been teaching at theUniversities of Jerusalem, Haifa, and Georgetown.Dr. Baram served as a Senior Associate Member at St. Antony’s College, Oxford, resident senior fellow three times at the Woodrow Wilson Center, twice at the US Institute of Peace, once at the Brookings Institute, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Center in Bellagio. In 2009 he lectured to US officers at Fort Leavenworth. At the University of Haifa, he served as Chairman of the Department of Middle East History, Director of the Jewish-Arab Center and the Institute for Middle East Studies, founder and Head of the Center for Iraq Studies, and co-founder and Head of the Ezri Center. Since 1986 Baram has been occasionally advising the US government during the Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations about Iraq and the Gulf. His book Saddam Husayn and Islam 1968-2003 (WWC and Johns Hopkins University Press, 2014) used extensively Saddam’s secret personal archive 1979-2003.

PeerTalks with Leena Hashir (Urdu)
Leena Hashir is a known columnist and blogger. For her, writing was a process of self-discovery. She emerged on the scene a few years ago with her own blogging site. With time, as her lighthearted and satirical pieces gained popularity, she joined the Samaa TV network and started contributing her blogs to their Urdu website. She also wrote for the Saach TV website during that time. At a later stage, she joined Humsub.
Leena started with writing satires but gradually shifted her focus to highlight the tragic state of society. Her rendition has been heart-wrenching and touched the most sensitive chords. Her column on the killing of Aneeqa Khalid by her father just because she could not make her around bread highlighted the cruel face of our society. The column became enormously popular. A short film was made on that column that got a lot of critical accolades.
Then came her column on “khawaja saraa ka marney key baad apni maa ko khat”. The column was published on Humsub and broke all records. On the very first day of its publication, 100,000 read it on the website alone. It's sharing on Facebook was like a jungle fire. It was shared so many times that Facebook thought of it as spam and blocked it only to open it later realizing their misunderstanding. Its text sharing on YouTube crossed one million views in three days. According to a safe estimate, nearly 3 million readers have read it on social media and it has been appreciated globally. It is by far the most popular column in the history of Pakistan print and electronic media. A film is currently underway based on this very column.
Leena Hashir is one of the most popular names on social media and her contribution to bringing to light the most sensitive issues has made quite an impact. She has succeeded in changing how people perceive and think about the marginalized sections of society. For her, that is what writing is all about.

Shaheen Is an Indian British author, world peace advocate, and thought leader. Shaheen is a member of the London Literary Society and of the Muslim-Jewish Forum in London. He is also the founder of the Jewish Islamic International Peace Society. The genealogy of Syed Shaheen Chishti goes back to Hazrat Ali, cousin of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Syed Shaheen Chishti is also a descendant of the revered Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, whose shrine also known as the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Shaheen studied in Mayoor School, Ajmer before moving to London with his family at the age of 15. In London, he went to Holland Park School where he completed his secondary education. Thereafter he pursued a degree in Accountancy from London Guildhall University, to become a professionally qualified accountant. He presently lives in London.

Dr. Thomas has spent many years teaching comparative religious studies, theology, peace studies, global ethics, history of science, and comparative philosophy to adults, children, and university students. He has worked at the University of London and Oxford teaching religious studies and also at the senior level as a secondary school teacher in religious studies and philosophy. He has traveled and lectured in some 35 countries and has received several international awards for his work in education. Co-chaired 30 meetings in the House of Lords on ethics and policy. Spoken twice at UN HQ in New York on peace studies and academic development. He has exploited new media teaching avenues in full with film and audio classes outreach and is currently writing a tripartite historical commentary on the Qur’an, the New Testament, and the Jewish bible to facilitate peacemaking in the Middle East. He has combined a lifetime of scholarship with peace activism and have coordinated International Philosophers and Historians for Peace and Global Responsibility for many years as well as running an Institute that specializes in peace research and the scientific study of comparative global philosophical and religious traditions (International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy). Currently working on numerous publications and academic projects. I also coordinate the World intellectual Forum (HQ in India) for Europe.

Peer Syed Mudassir Shah and Nameera Raja discussed the QUAD and its impacts on Pakistan
The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD, also known as the Quad) is an informal strategic dialogue between the United States, Japan, Australia, and India maintained by talks between member countries. The dialogue was initiated in 2007 by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, with the support of Vice President Dick Cheney of the US, Prime Minister John Howard of Australia, and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India. The dialogue was paralleled by joint military exercises of an unprecedented scale, titled Exercise Malabar. The diplomatic and military arrangement was widely viewed as a response to increased Chinese economic and military power, and the Chinese government responded to the Quadrilateral dialogue by issuing formal diplomatic protests to its members.

Yitzhak Sokoloff is a political analyst, educator, and veteran Israeli tour guide, and the President of Keshet Educational Journeys. A graduate of Columbia University, he taught Political Science and Jewish Philosophy at Hebrew University and is a Rennert Fellow for Jerusalem Studies at Bar Ilan University. Yitzhak served in both the Golani Brigade of the IDF and the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. He has briefed members of Congress and their staff and senior media executives on the practice of incitement in the Palestinian media and has appeared as a political analyst on television and radio programs in the United States, Canada, and Israel. Yitzhak lectures widely on political, strategic, and legal issues relating to Zionism and Judaism, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israeli and Palestinian societies' political culture, and military ethics.

Before joining the Department, she was the director of the press office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
She is a San Francisco native and earned her bachelor’s from San Francisco State University in journalism and a master’s from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Her spouse, Alan Herrera, is an eligible family member in the Facilities Section, and they have one adult daughter.

Muhammad Ali Sadpara (born February 2nd, 1976) is a Pakistani mountaineer. He was part of the team that successfully achieved the first-ever winter summit on Nanga Parbat in 2016. Both his teammates, Alex Txikon and Simone Moro, have gone on record stating that they could not have done it without Sadpara's brilliance. He had successfully climbed four eight-thousanders in a calendar year and a total of eight in his career. Sadpara and his son, Sajid Sadpara, who had climbed K2 in 2019, teamed up with Icelandic mountaineer John Snorri Sigurjónsson, and Chilean mountaineer Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto, for a joint K2 ascent, leaving the highest camp on the evening of February 4th, 2021. Sajid had to come back because of a technical issue leaving the others at the Bottleneck, close to the summit. His father, Snorri and Mohr kept climbing up, but they didn't come back by night as planned. A rescue mission with two army helicopters was organized on February 6th. The three climbers are still missing.

Poonam Singh nee Diddi. (Diddis are ancient pairs of Greek-Turk origin), is Editor Preet Lari, a magazine of Punjab from 1933. A sole editor from 1984. Trained in dramatics, went to National School of Drama New Delhi. and PU Chandigarh’s Drama Deptt. Her father Madan Lal Didi ( Diddi) was a poet and trade union teacher in Faiz tradition, and a friend of Sahir. She was brought up in that tradition. They live in Preet Nagar just near the Wagah border as well as in Chandigarh.
Preet means Love, and this is a village and a magazine devoted to Love, founded by Er Gurbakhsh Singh in 1937 and 1933 respectively, run by four generations of the family. Poonam Singh is a granddaughter-in-law of Gurbakhsh Singh.
Lohri is a popular Punjabi winter folk festival celebrated primarily in the Punjab region. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region. It is believed by many that the festival commemorates the passing of the winter solstice.

Former Israeli Ambassador Moshe Yegar explains how he met his Pakistani counterpart in 1992, in Tokyo Japan Moshe Yegar, born 30 October 1930, Buenos Aires, is a retired Israeli diplomat and historian of Islam in Southeast Asia; also, he is the author of books and research articles on the history of Zionism during the British Mandate, and about Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its policies and activities. In 1956, Yegar joined Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he served until his retirement in November 1995. Among his posts abroad, he served at the Embassy of Israel in Rangoon, Burma (now known as Yangon, Myanmar); as Consul at Israel's Consulate General in Los Angeles (1966 - 1969); as Consul General in Philadelphia (1969 - 1972); as Consul General in New-York (1985 - 1988); as Ambassador in Stockholm (1988 - 1990); and as Ambassador in Prague (1994 - 1995). Also, in 1965, Yegar was sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which had no diplomatic relations with Israel, to open a semi-diplomatic presence under the cover of a business office. After one year, Yegar was requested to close the office and move out of Malaysia.
In between assignments abroad, Yegar served in the Ministry's Headquarters in Jerusalem in senior positions: Head of the Information Department (Hasbara, in Hebrew) (1975 - 1978); Deputy Director-General and Head of the Division for Information and Communication (1980 - 1985); Deputy Director-General in charge of Asia, Africa, and Oceania (1990 - 1993). Yegar showed his capabilities as the organizer of large complicated festivities, on two special occasions: (a) While in his service in New-York, Yegar chaired the 40th Anniversary public committee which organized a mammoth celebration attended by thousands; (b) While in Prague, Yegar organized "the Old Testament in the Arts Festival, October 1955", which included scores of musical, theatrical events, exhibitions, films, and symposia.
Yegar's role in the normalization of relations between India and Israel Yegar fulfilled a significant role in the negotiations with the Indian authorities to normalize the diplomatic relations between India and Israel. Yaqub ibn Yusuf was born Joshua Heckelman into a warm and traditional Conservative Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York.
He explains; In my early 20s I pursued spiritual studies with Reb Zalman Schachter in Winnipeg, Canada, There I discovered "the archetype of the Tzaddiq", the inner and outer figure of the spiritual master in the Hasidic teachings of Rebbe Nahman. Following that through, I came to Israel in 1976 looking for a spiritual teacher and became the disciple of Sidi Sheikh Muhammad al Jemal on the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem. From Sidi I received my Arabic name, recalling my Jewish father and grandfather. For seven years I followed Sidi's Islamic Sufi teachings and practices, but I couldn't get past the sense that he expected me to embrace Islam as a religion, although Judaism is my religion. I discovered the more broad-minded the world of Turkish Sufism and I studied, for many years, with Murat Yagan in western Canada - and I put together a book of his oral teachings which I've shared with various groups, over years: 'The Essence of Sufism in the Light of Kebzeh, the Teachings of the Caucasus Mountains. I later made a connection with a Turkish teacher of the Way of Blame of Melamet, Baba Selim Ocik, who lived in Istanbul. I came back to Israel in 1990 to pursue the academic study of Kabbalah and Hasidism with Prof. Moshe Idel. I found myself at home in the multi-faceted world of Jerusalem. In 1997 I opened Olam Qatan, based on the Kabbalistic saying, "Everyone is a 'microcosm'". My idea was to open doors for all kinds of spiritual seekers, religious and secular, Jewish, and people from other religions. For the last three years, I've down-scaled from a brick-and-mortar bookstore to a bookstall at Jerusalem's "First Station". I'm working on several projects of Hasidic and Sufi books

Ambassador Haim Koren is a former Israeli diplomat and an expert in the Arab World.
He served as Israel’s Ambassador to the Republic of Egypt between 2014 and 2016. He previously served as the first Israeli Ambassador to South Sudan and as the Director of the Middle East Division in the Center of Political Research in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his tenure with the Ministry, his positions included serving as Director of the Political Planning Division and as Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also served in various other diplomatic capacities in Chicago, USA; Alexandria, Egypt; Kathmandu, Nepal; and elsewhere. Ambassador Koren is an expert in the Arab World. His Ph.D. focused on Islam in Sudan, and he also deals with issues as Arab Media, the Arab Citizens of Israel and the Palestinians, Radical Islam, Political History of the Middle East, Tribal Societies in the Middle East, and Sufism on the Middle East and Beyond.
In 1993-1995, he was an Honorary Member at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago. From 2008 to 2011, he was an Instructor at the National Defence College of Israel. He has given lectures and seminars on Arabism and Islam, the Ideology of Radical Islam, the Global Dimension of the Foreign Policy in Israel, and the New Framework for Thinking on the Middle East. He taught Middle Eastern History and Communications at the University of Haifa. Ambassador Koren has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Slovenian Institute of Middle East and Balkan Studies since 2011, and a Board Member of the Ezri Center for Research of Iran and the Persian Gulf at Haifa University since 2016. The presentation examines the vicissitudes of Sufism’s recent history in the Muslim republics of Russia’s North Caucasus, the Russian Federation. Using this region as a case study, Alexander Knysh shows how Sufism’s role as “a mainstay of the international social order” (per Marshall Hodgson’s Venture of Islam) has come under critical scrutiny as well as verbal and physical attacks from a variety of quarters. Somewhat paradoxically, these attacks are motivated by Sufism’s former social, political, and cultural dominance in Muslim societies worldwide. Enmeshed deeply and inextricably into the very fabric of Muslim life, Sufism with its doctrines, practices, institutions, literature, and leadership structures has become a potent symbol of the status quo that reformers of various stripes sought to change or even to abolish altogether. The most potent challenge to Sufism’s doctrinal and devotional dominance has come from various Salafi-Wahhabi (“[neo-]fundamentalist”) movements. Does this “clash of Islam” represent a re-enactment, in Muslim communities worldwide, of the Protestant Reformation? Knysh will try to answer this question by using the Muslim societies of the North Caucasus as his case study
Alexander Knysh is a Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Michigan and Academic Director of an Islamic studies program sponsored by the St. Petersburg State University, Russia. His academic interests include Islamic mysticism (Sufism), Qur’anic studies, the history of Muslim theological, philosophical, and juridical thought, and modern Islamic/Islamist movements from a comparative perspective. He has numerous academic and instructional publications on these subjects, including twelve books. His most recent books in English are Islam in Historical Perspective (London and New York: Taylor and Francis, Routledge, 2017) and Sufism: A New History of Islamic Mysticism (Princeton and Oxford: Princeton University Press, 2017). Qamar-ul Huda is an American religious scholar.
As an assistant professor at Boston College, in 2002 he published a revised version of the dissertation with Routledge Sufi Series entitled, "Striving for Divine Union: Spiritual Exercises for the Suhrwardi Sufis" (London and New York).
He wrote a personal account of the new demands for his expertise following the attack on the USA on September 11, 2001.
He was one of three American professors of religion who drafted letters to be submitted to Murat Kurnaz's Administrative Review Board.
Huda joined the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Program for Religion and Peacemaking as a senior program officer.
The United States Department of State (State Department) hired Huda to be seconded as a subject matter expert to build up Hedayah: The International Centre of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In 2012, U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, established a new office called The Religion and Global Affairs (RGA) to demonstrate the critical importance the role of religion plays in foreign affairs. In 2017, Huda with several colleagues co-founded the Center for Global Policy, a non-partisan independent policy think tank focused on U.S. foreign policy and national security and the geopolitics of Muslim majority countries in the Middle East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. He was the founding director for the Program on Conflict, Stabilization, and Development where the program focused on development issues, moving from conflict toward peace processes, conflict management, and new metrics to understand stabilization. For the Center for Global Policy, Huda authored over a dozen policy briefs and a policy report entitled "A Critique of Countering Violent Extremism Programs in Pakistan." (August 2020). Based on this study, the Near East and South Asia Center Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) at the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, DC, conducted an interview on the core findings of the countering violent extremism policy report, and on religion, diplomacy and global affairs.

Ahmed Tijani Ben Omar (أحمد تيجاني بن عمر) is a Ghanaian born American Islamic scholar and Imam.
Tijani was born in Accra, Ghana. His hometown is Asamankese, West Akim Municipal District, Ghana. He specialized in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence, including comparative religion, astronomy, spiritual science and healing, divine poetry and chanting, fine arts, and culture.
He took Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Kulliyat Athakaffah Al Arabiyah in Ghana and studied Biblical Science and History through the Methodist Missionary High School in Ghana.[citation needed] He specialized in media-broadcasting and mass-communications and also obtained masters in comparative religion. He studied and memorized the Qur'an at the age of 15 and the Bible by the age of 20.
Tijani is a leader of the Tijaniyyah, which came to the United States in the 1970s. He is also the National Advisor International Association of Sufism USA; Advisor Islamic Studies and Research Association ISSRA USA; President and Imam Universal Islamic Center USA; Member of the World Council of Religious Leaders under the auspices of The United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit.
He has traveled to over 115 countries worldwide giving numerous lectures and presentations at conferences, universities, and public gatherings around the world. Hosted and directed several national and international Islamic conferences for peace.
Tijani spends his time between the United States and Africa. He has been involved in peacemaking work in Chicago's inner cities and inter-faith activity across the world. He opposes literalism and extreme Wahhabi theology.

Maryam Khan is the Executive Director is Lost Voices of South Asia, a non-profit organization aiming to unite the South Asian Diaspora.
She is 17 years old, based in the Washington D.C area, and is a senior in high school. She is involved in many extra-curricular school activities, some of which include: MSA, MUN, Leo Club, the Varsity Tennis Team, and has even started her own club, The Social Awareness Club. "I started this initiative, as a way to mobilize youth all across the county." She is an activist who would like to make a profound impact. She hopes by providing a platform for people that do not have a voice. By increasing civic engagement, she is fulfilling her responsibility to give back. She serves on the board of multiple youth-led organizations, some of which include, Climate Strike VA and The Tomorrow Project. She also has been serving as an advocate for the ethnically persecuted minorities, including Kashmiris, the Uighurs, and the Rohingya, through my work with Justice for All. She also has served her own community by advocating for domestically abused women in the NOVA area. She hopes to use her platform and privilege to voice concerns about the silenced people of South Asia.

Prof. Yohanan Friedmann is an Israeli scholar of Islamic studies.
Prof.Yohanan #Friedmann was born in Zákamenné, Czechoslovakia, and immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1949. He attended high school at the Reali School in Haifa (1945-1950). In 1956 he began his undergraduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Department of Arabic Language and Literature, receiving his BA in 1959. In 1962 he finished a master's degree in Arabic literature; his thesis was on the Arab poet Al-Ma'arri. After this, Friedman went to McGill University in Montreal to study for his doctorate. He learned Urdu and focused on the history of Islam in India. His dissertation on Muslim religious thinker Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi was approved in 1966. In the same year, Friedman joined the Hebrew University and was appointed lecturer in Islamic studies.
He is now Max Schloessinger Professor Emeritus of Islamic Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and, since 1999, a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. He held several offices with the University: Chair of the Institute of Asian Studies and African Studies from 1975-1978; Chair of the Graduate School from 1980-1983; Dean of Humanities from 1985-1988; Chair of the Department of Arabic language and literature from 2002-2004. In 2003 he was the Sternberg Distinguished Lecturer. In 2007 he has been elected Chair of the Humanities Division of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
In 2002 Friedmann was a member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. In 2003 he received the Landau Prize in the Humanities. Since 1993, he has been the editor of Jerusalem Studies in Arabic and Islam. Friedmann served several times as a visiting Professor at New York University and the University of Pennsylvania. In 1997 he was a scholar in residence with the Rockefeller Foundation.

Prof. Yossi Shain (born September 21, 1956, in Israel) is the Romulo Betancourt Professor of Political Science at Tel Aviv University where he also serves as Head of TAU's School of Political Science, Government and International Affairs, head of the Abba Eban Graduate Studies Program in Diplomacy and Director of the Frances Brody Institute for Applied Diplomacy. He is also a Full Professor of Comparative Government and Diaspora Politics at Georgetown University, and the Founding Director of the Program for Jewish Civilization (PJC) at Georgetown. In 2007, he also served (pro-bono) as President of Western Galilee College. Shain earned his B.A. (Philosophy-1981 cum laude) and M.A. (Political Science-1983) degrees from Tel Aviv University and received his Ph.D. in Political Science (with distinction) from Yale University in 1988. Abū al-ʻAbbās Ahmad ibn Muhammad at-Tijāniyy or Ahmed Tijani (Arabic: أحمد التجاني, 1735–1815, was the Berber founder of the Tijaniyyah tariqa (Sufi order). in Aïn Madhi in Algeria, and died in Fez, Morocco, at the age of 80.
Tijani was born in 1735 in Ain Madi, the son of Muhammad al-Mukhtar. He traced his descent to a Berber Tribe, Tijani. When he was sixteen, Tijani lost both parents as a result of a plague. By then he was already married. He learned Quran under the tutelage of Mohammed Ba'afiyya in Ain Madi and also studied Khalil ibn Ishaq al-Jundi's Islamic jurisprudence works that were written under Malikite rites.[6] He also studied Abū al-Qāsim al-Qushayrī's Risala ila al-sufiyya. In 1757, Tijani left his village for Fez. While there, he joined three Sufi brotherhoods, the Qadiriyya, the Nasiriyya, and the tariqa of Ahmad al-Habib b. Muhammed. In Fez, he met a seer who told him he would achieve spiritual revelation (faith). Thereafter, he left Fez to teach at al-Abiad, spending five years at the village. In 1772, he began a journey to Mecca for hajj and to seek a Sufi way of life. During his journey, he was initiated into the Khalwati order at Azwawi. He later taught for a year at Tunis where he achieved some success. He left Tunis for Egypt where he met Mahmud al-Kurdi of the Khalwati order in Cairo. Tijani reached Mecca in late 1773 and performed hajj rites. In his quest to seek a Sufi way of life, he met Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah El Hindi, who rarely saw people except for his servant. He also met Abd-Karim al-Samman, founder of the Sammaniyya branch of Khalwati. Al-Samman told Tijani he will become a dominant Qutb (pole) or a scholar within the Sufi orders in the region. Tijani left Mecca and returned to Cairo where he got al-Kurdi's blessing to preach the Khalwatiyya order. From Cairo, he settled at Tlemcen for a couple of years.
Tijani later settled at Boussemghoun, an oasis seventy-five miles south of El Bayadh. It was at Samghun that Tijani received a vision from the prophet who told him to start a new Sufi order. He left his previous affiliations with other Sufi orders and claimed divine instructions from the prophet Mohammed. Tijani's order soon gained attraction in the desert regions surrounding Abi Samghun. Shaykh Tijani lived in Abi Samghun for about fifteen years. In 1796 he went to Fez, marking the real beginning of his Tariqa.
In Fez, Tijani was well received by Mawlay Sulayman, the Moroccan Sultan. Though Sulayman disliked other Sufi orders, he provided Tijani a house and appointed him as a member of his learned council. At first, Tijani chose the mosque of Moulay Idris to pray but performed the rites of the Tijani order in his house. Tijani later built his own zawiya. In Fez, he sent his trusted aides to spread the word of his order. Trusted aides such as Abu Hafs' Abdul-Rahman were sent to Oran and Algiers and Abdul-Salam al-Waghiri to Constantine, Algeria. Further muqaddams were appointed among learned converts including Muhammad Fuwadir al-Abdallawi in the Jarid district of Tunisia and Muhammed al-Hafiz in Mauritania.

Pakistan’s military chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa traveled to Saudi Arabia on Monday (August 16, 2020) for daylong official meetings amid reports of rare strains in historically close relations between the two key Muslim nations.
A brief Pakistani army statement said Bajwa met with Saudi Arabia's Gen. Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, chairman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and other top commanders to discuss military ties, including training exchanges. It did not give further details.

PeerTalks with Pir Shabda Kahn
Shabda Kahn, a direct disciple of the American Sufi Master, Murshid Samuel Lewis, has been practicing Sufism since 1969 and since 2001, is the Pir (Spiritual Director) of the Sufi Ruhaniat International, the Sufi lineage tracing from Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis.
Shabda met his second great teacher, the late Master Singer, Pandit Pran Nath (b 1918-d. 1996), in 1972, and began the daily practice of North Indian Classical music in the Kirana style. Pandit Pran Nath planted an 800-year-old oral tradition of Chisti Sufi Vocal Music in the western world and gave Shabda the title, Director, Chisti Sabri School of Music. This has become an umbrella for his teaching vocal music and performing Raga singing. Shabda guided more than a dozen pilgrimages to India, each time setting up a very ambitious North Indian Classical Vocal Music School on the soil which produced the beauty of Raga.
Shabda has appeared in concerts ranging from Visions for a Perfect World at New York’s St John the Divine Cathedral, for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Music America in Chicago, at Delhi University Music School, and Shivaratri Festival in New Delhi. He is one of a handful of Americans who have dedicated themselves to carrying on the legacy of the treasure of North Indian Classical Vocal Music.
Shabda is also a disciple of the illustrious Tibetan Master, the 12th TaiSitu Rinpoche.

Pir of Wana was also an expert in economics, Philosophy, and Agriculture. who spent his life preaching the true soul of Islam, the message of love and tolerance. Pir of Wana played a significant role in the Independence movement of Pakistan, and after partition (1947) in the independence movement of Kashmir. He led his tribal followers in Jihad e Kashmir, which was the leading force in Jihad e Kashmir, afterward, he was titled as honorary Lieutenant colonel by the War Committee of Pakistan, and title of "Ghazi e Kashmir" by the Government of AJK. Al-gaylani is fluent in Arabic, Pashto, Urdu, Persian, and Punjabi languages, he is also an expert in Agriculture and sociology.
In his teachings, he emphasizes strictly following the teachings of Islam and love for Rasul Allah ﷺ and the #Sufi way of being Humble, loving, and tolerant.

Prof. Yossi Shain (born September 21, 1956, in Israel) is the Romulo Betancourt Professor of Political Science at Tel Aviv University where he also serves as Head of TAU's School of Political Science, Government and International Affairs, head of the Abba Eban Graduate Studies Program in Diplomacy and Director of the Frances Brody Institute for Applied Diplomacy. He is also a Full Professor of Comparative Government and Diaspora Politics at Georgetown University, and the Founding Director of the Program for Jewish Civilization (PJC) at Georgetown. In 2007, he also served (pro-bono) as President of Western Galilee College.[1] Shain earned his B.A. (Philosophy-1981 cum laude) and M.A. (Political Science-1983) degrees from Tel Aviv University and received his Ph.D. in Political Science (with distinction) from Yale University in 1988. In July 2016 professor Shain was appointed as a member of the Council for Higher Education in Israel, and he is now heading the national committee in charge of rejuvenating liberal arts and the humanities.
