Nik and I chat about his connection to Riley, his strong involvement in the design process of the restoration, and his enjoyment of life living with classic cars. In this episode of Defender Diaries, I drive a couple of hours north of Melbourne to Castlemaine, to meet up with Aaron Barnes. Aaron is the creator of 'Barnesy's Builds', an engaging, educational and often hilarious YouTube channel dedicated to the many 'true blue' restorations he has undertaken himself. Aaron and I are joined by his beautiful Kelpie Jayco, where we talk all things Holdens, DIU restorations, funny fails, and memories of the racetrack. David Belford is a classic Porsche restorer. His highly reputable business Werk1 Porsche Restoration, formally known as Classic and Road and Track, is based in North Melbourne. Dave is a presenter/co-host with Benny Musu on the popular YouTube show The Motorists, an organiser of a boutique rally experience Werk1 Rallye, a historic car racer, support crew for his brother, Matt, in the Pro-Am Porsche Michelin GT3 Sprint Challenge, and when it’s not cars Dave is busy shifting the grape gears as a winemaker!
