For some reason, the day got off to a slow start. I have been trying to get everything using my old network changed to the new one. My ring doorbell is causing me problems. It won't let me login on my phone. I have reset the password, but it still won't let me in. I can log in fine on my laptop, but not on my phone. I can only change the network on the phone. I will return to the battle after I finish the route. Ain't technology wonderful?

Hello Everyone,
I switched my internet to fiber today. I have wanted to do that for a while, but the fiber was not close enough until recently. The technician was going to run the very thin optic cable from the pole to my house across about 40-50 feet of open space. I say open, but I have a lot of trees. I don't think it would have taken a very big branch to break the optic cable. I made him run it along the same path as my power line. That way there is at least some protection.

I am continuously amazed by the number of options available for every element in HTML. Every single element has dozens of options. Some of the options are very obvious; others are not. For example, the obvious options for a text field include font, size, color, and alignment. The unobvious ones include padding, margins, position, and background. There are more, but I am sure you get my point. Maybe if I worked with it every day I would not be so amazed with all the options. Thank God for HTML editors.

It is Saturday and that means college football. My Ohio State Buckeyes won easily over Indiana already. My wife's team, Alabama, is struggling against Mississippi at the moment. Hopefully they can pull it out in the second half. Big game tonight is TCU (Texas Christian University) vs Texas. TCU is ranked #4 and is the underdog. How can they be ranked well above the opposition and be the underdog? Some how the betting experts need to get in sync with the football experts.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Daylight savings time ended yesterday morning. I expected the little dog to be the most effected by that. He normally gets up between 3:30 and 4. So I was expecting him to start barking to go out about 2:30 am. I must have done a good job explaining to him on Saturday night. He has been sleeping until his normal time by the clock. Hello Everyone,
There were several really good football games yesterday. The game of day, Georgia vs Tennessee, was not that good of a game. Georgia was dominate and won easily.
Unfortunately, my wife's team, Alabama, lost with a last second 2 points after touchdown. Final score was 32-31. It was a good game, just a bad result.
My team, Ohio State, won. They got off to a very slow start. I had my doubts for most of the game whether they would win or not. They finally got rolling the second half and won 21 - 7. They were 37 point favorites so the results were a little disappointing but the WON.
The new rankings come out Tuesday evening. Numbers 1, 4, and 6 all lost so the new rankings will be interesting. Let's get the route done.

It is Saturday and that means college football. There 2 games in particular today that should be really good. Georgia (3) vs Tennessee (1) is for the lead in the SEC east. Georgia is an 8.5 point favorite. Just have to see what happens. The other good game is Alabama (6) vs LSU (10). Alabama is a 3.5 point favorite. Traditionally, it makes no difference what the experts say, either team could win. Ohio State (2) vs Northwestern is on right now. My Buckeyes should have no problem winning.

The bad storm that was predicted never arrived yesterday. We did get rain but no hail or tornados. We didn't even have any thunder. I had a unique experience with ListNerds today. I only had 11 emails to work with. I read them all but 3 of them received 404 errors (page not found). I didn't think anything about this until I brought up the task page to make my video and it said I only read 8 emails. I guess if you get a 404 error on the link in the email, you don't get credit for reading the email. I was saved by waiting awhile and then checking my inbox again. There was exactly 2 new emails and neither received a 404.

Hurricane Ian is getting bigger and stronger but it looks like we will little to no rain from it. It is currently predicted to turn eastward after it leaves Cuba and head straight for Tampa, Florida. Hello,
This is my post for Bradley's 6th training session. This is a short video for two reasons. First, my wife wasn't there so there was no way to record me working with Bradley. Second, I don't think this is a very exciting.
This session works on obeying commands from a distance. For some reason, Justin only uses the "place" command for this. I am sure there is a reason but I have never remembered to ask what it is, It is fun to watch.
As you saw in the video, Bradley got bored with this before I started recording the session. But Justin knows how to get him excited again - a ball.
The problem with using a ball is that the ball is much more important to Bradley than what he is suppose to be doing.
What did you think of me doing the voice over? I had never done that before. I am sure you notice I became Bradley's voice. I wish I had thought to do that right from the start. Should I do the voice over again?

This is my first post in @Silverbloggers. As you can tell from the title, this is Bradley's 5th training session. If you are interested in the others, the links are at the end of this post. I am very late in publishing this post because my mother-in-law died 2 weeks ago and I totally forgot. We actually just finished session 6 so that post will be be published in a few days.
A brief Bradley recap. He was a stray that the daughter of someone that works for my wife found. We adapted him obviously. He was a mess when we got him. He had mange, fleas, ear infection, worms and was very thin. We have all that fixed and now he is in training.
This session was suppose to be about following commands from a distance but as you see in the video, it turned into a session about how to handle distractions.
Justine, our trainer, always has 2 dogs that he boards and trains for 2 weeks before returning them. He brings the dogs to work with him so we used those dogs during Bradley's training session for the ultimate distraction.
Bradley is a "talker". You can hear him in the third clip talking. He wants to meet the other dog. He can get very demanding asking for things. A bad habit we are working on.
One of the things I have learned from these training sessions is that they are exhausting to Bradley because of the mental work not the physical. Believe it or not Bradley is a lap dog. My wife swears that it is because he is grateful we rescued him. It is very common for Bradley, all 55 pounds, to curl up in my wife's lap and go to sleep.

This has been a very unproductive day. I just finished watching the end of today's Tour de France stage. I could not see the end this morning because of Bradley's training session. My wife is not a big fan so I couldn't watch right away. Anyway, It was another extremely hard mountain stage and was almost as exciting as yesterday.
Before I start the route, I added a new site to my route since I am suspended from Traffic Ad Bar. I know it doesn't count for Larry the Postman but I have had great success with it. The site is Traffic Tiers. Check it out.

Hello,
Time for Bradley's 4th training session. The main purpose of this session is the "down" command. Like "sit", the "down" command implies "stay". That is why you see Justin, the trainer, trying to distract him while he is down.
The best part of learning "down" is then we can do doggy pushups. Doggie pushups are having the dog alternate between "sit" and "down". This may not sound like a lot of exercise but it will wear a dog out. Really good for rainy days.
Bradley already knows down but like a lot of dogs he does not like doing it and he certainly doesn't stay. He will do it, particularly if you have a treat, but he does it grudgingly and doesn't stay down long.
Take a look at how he is doing in the video.
We always work with Bradley at home between training sessions. I am sure I don't do it enough.
I am not sure what we learn in Bradley's 5th session. I will let you know in my next post.

Hello Everyone,
It was a very exciting Tour de France today. They were in the Alps and did over 12,000 feet of climbing in less than 100 miles. Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark on Team Jumbo-Visma took the Yellow Jersey from Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia on team UAE in a dramatic finish atop the Col du Granon Serre Chevalier. This was the toughest stage in the Tour. Tomorrow is another mountain stage almost as tough.
I won't be surfing Traffic Ad Bar anymore. My account is still suspended for something I didn't do. The owner wants me to fix something I didn't do. Oh well, let's get going on the route.

This is my first post in Hive-Pets. I was recommended to me by a reader in ListNerds and it certainly sounded like a great idea to me. This actually my fourth post about Bradley. I will put the links to the other posts at the end of this one.
Last week we had Bradley's 3rd training sessions. This sessions teaches him heel. I think this is one of the hardest commands for a dog to learn. They have to totally commit to paying full time attention to you and ignore everything else.
According to Justine, you really know a dog has learned this when the walk with their head up, watching you. As you see in the video, Bradley is not to that point yet. We have worked every day since the class with him on heel but we still don't have his total attention.
Trivia Question: Why are dogs taught to heel on your left side?
My wife missed the previous session and wanted to work on "place" with Bradley. (She really just wanted to see him jump up on the pedestals.)
Yesterday, we took him to a dog park that is next to a stream. We wanted to see if he would swim. The dog park itself had mixed results.
When we arrived at the dog park, there were 3 dogs Bradley's size or smaller. Everything was fine. They left and an 11 month old Great Pyrenees arrived. This dog was at least double if not triple Bradley's size. They did not get along at all and we had to leave.
Next we took him to the creek. At first he was a little leery of the water but after splashing around for a few minutes, he decided this was great and started swimming. I was not sure we were going to get him back, He was swimming away from us and didn't want to come back. Finally he turned around and my wife grabbed him. Time to go,
Once home he headed for his bed.

Larry had to go without me again today. My wife and I took Bradley to a dog park. We had mixed results. He got along fine with 3 smaller dogs but then a white Great Pyrenees arrived. The Great Pyrenees was at least double if not triple Bradley's size but that did stop him from going after the other dog. We left after that and walked over to a creek. It was obvious Bradley had never played in water before but it did not take long before he was swimming like a champ. I wasn't sure we would ever get him out of the water. Finally my wife caught him and we came home.

I am back to tell you about Bradley's 2nd training session.
For Bradley's 2nd training session, we had a trainee trainer, Ashton. Almost immediately, it was obvious that Ashton was inexperienced. Plus, as you will hear on the video, he has a very high-pitched, squeaky voice which is not that commanding.
The main objective of this lesson is "place". Place is used to direct the dog to a particular place, not on the floor, and have him stay until he is told to "break". (Break is used to release the dog from a command.) They use two cots to teach place.
Ashton started with the two cots maybe 5 feet apart and has Bradley go from one to the other when directed. After each successful iteration, Ashton moves the cots further apart.
It didn't take long for Bradley to become bored with this process. I think he was partly bored because of the repetition and partly because Ashton just doesn't make it exciting. Even when he says "break", there is no real excitement.
Eventually, Bradley comes to me for help. He was totally bored and not enamored with Ashton. This is when I said something to Ashton and he moved on to the pedestals. Justin came in to watch right about then also.
The pedestals are used to re-enforce/expand the place command. There are 4 pedestals approximately 1, 2, 3, and 4 feet high with a 2 foot square top. As you would guess, the object is to start with the shortest one and work up to the highest one.
Bradley had no problem with the first 2 because he could step on to them. The third and fourth he couldn't. They were too high to just step onto.
Justin to the rescue. Justin realize Bradley needed a break. He had Ashton get a ball. For 5 minutes or so, Bradley had fun chasing the ball. When he went back to training, Ashton used the ball as incentive (at Justine direction) to jump on to the 3rd and 4th pedestals.
The video shows him jumping on the 3rd one but for some reason, I didn't video the fourth pedestal. That pretty much ended the 2nd sessions. We let Bradley chase the ball around some more before leaving.
Bradley was exhausted after the session. He slept all the way home and for the next couple of hours at home.

Another day that started at 2am because of the little dog, Colonel. I was hoping to get the route done before my doctor's appointment but that did not work out. I didn't get my driver's license renewed either because they don't take credit cards and I didn't have enough cash with me. Plus, somewhere my ATM card has disappeared. It is another very hot day in the neighborhood with an expected heat index of 105 degrees. I am sure we will see Bradley show up along the way.
I was late this morning because our smoke alarm went off at 12:30 am. It took me a while to get it shut off. We need to get going before it gets too hot.

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I am alive, alive and thriving. As I say in the video, I thought today was June 1st and powered up. A little bit later, I realized it was May 30th. Have to find some more Hive for tomorrow.
Also, for some reason, I am no longer upgraded in ListNerds. I think they took the Hive but I lost my upgrade. I up in a ticket just have to see what they say.
