New Hi, I’m Margaret and this is Pedagogy What? The Confessions of a First-Year Teacher. I just started my first year of teaching and this podcast is going to be about the ups, the downs, and the crazy that happens as I progress through this year. This podcast is for new teachers, veteran teachers, teachers to be, and anyone else interested in this journey that is the next year of my life.

I'm back! This week, I talk about a couple of cool projects and then veer off into some politics.
After being postponed by Hurricane Ian, it's finally time for homecoming. A group of my kids plots their parent's demise. And oh yeah, I have my observation.
It's a short week because of training and a tropical storm. I experience my first IEP and MDR meetings. They go...ok.
In Psychology, the kids create their own projects. Then it's time to start talking about next year.
My students have mental health problems. I have a stomach bug. Somehow, we all muddle through.
I talk about four things this episode: a party, Open House, the PSAT, and a couple of kids being, well, kids.
School starts and I meet the kids for the first time. I try to teach things. It doesn't go well. I guess I'll just have to try again tomorrow.
On the first episode of Pedagogy What? I introduce myself, cover those crazy days where I don't know if I have a job or not, and make it through the first three days of school.
