Welcome to the brand new City of John Day podcast. The goal of this podcast is to share information with the residents of John Day about projects and events happening in town, and to help answer questions posed by the community.
Mark is a lifelong architect and a Partner at Opsis. With a body of work which spans from coast to coast, Mark’s career accomplishments include complex projects within higher education, cities and community.
John Day were fortunate to have engaged the services of Opsis in the creation of the designs and building plans for the proposed John Day - Canyon City Swim Center.
John Day City Manager Corum Ketchum sat down to talk with Miklos Valdez over zoom, to find out more about the process of obtaining a feasibility study, why it's important and what factors are taken into consideration when putting these presentations together.
Miklos is the Studio Director at Counsilman Hunsaker, and works in their Aquatic Management Program. This program’s services include facility operation analysis and feasibility studies. Miklos has over 10 years of recreation and aquatics experience as a pool and waterpark operation of indoor and outdoor facilities, including competition pools and fitness facilities.
