Around the CFL podcast takes a look inside Canadian football. From weekly game previews and recaps to CFL stars popping by to chat. We will also be looking at the world of Canadian College Football, and advocating for women in sports.
We are back after a short break and we are talking week 18 as well as a look back at the Canadian College Football week, then looking forward to the playoff push of week 19 in the 2025 CFL season.
Monday's announcement by CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnson sparked a lot of conversation. This week my good friend and CFL on TSN Insider Dave Naylor comes on quickly to talk about the new rules and what we could expect. We also take a moment to celebrate the legendary life of Hamilton Tiger-Cats General Manager Ted Goveia who recently passed.
This very special guest deserves an episode all to herself. She is a Grey Cup Champion, and the first transgender athlete from either the CFL or NFL. I was lucky enough to sit down with the amazing Maven Maurer to talk about her journey and where she is today
Labour Day weekend has past and that means 2 things. We are 2/3's of the way through the 2025 CFL season, and Canadian College Football has begun. This week we recap the CFL week, as well as all of the U-Sport football games. We also send some love to our Canadian's who made the 53's in the NFL, and look ahead to week 14.
