The Rebel Podcast is all about engaging the culture with a biblical worldview and training you to do the same. We are called to expand the borders of Christ’s kingdom on earth which means the bible has something to say about how we conquer art, politics, medicine, education and every square inch of the cosmos. P Nate and Pootie will often get distracted... but world domination is a long endeavour!
The Law Word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Ps. 119:105), and Isaiah makes it abundantly clear that the Messianic reign of King Jesus will spread that Law throughout all the earth (Is 2:2-4, 9:2-7, 42:1-9, 52:6-53).

This week, the Rebels are joined by Pastor Joel Webbon of Right Response Ministries to discuss Reformed Confessionalism. One of the things we must do if we want to be faithful in the season in which God has placed us is to be willing to re-dig the wells of Abraham... to stand on the shoulders of the political, ecclesiastical and familial Fathers who have come before us.
But what about everything we experienced in 2020? We can't deny that we live in Trashworld, that everyone has lied to us and that it is easy to be suspicious of everything. How do we anchor ourselves to the faith once and for all delivered to the saints while simultaneously cultivating masculine suspicion and curiosity?
Joel comes on to discuss all of this and how talking through these topics creates the kind of men needed to defeat Trashworld.

The rebels capitalize on having Sye in the studio once again and hit a topic near and dear to Sye’s heart: presuppositional apologetics. Sye contends that you do not have to be an expert in fossil records, on the nuances of the Quaran, or have the argument from design eloquently practiced in order to defend the faith, you just have to believe the Bible.

This week P Nate and Elder P are joined in studio by Sye Ten Bruggencate. Even though the plan was to talk about presuppositional apologetics (that show will drop next week) the Rebels got sidetracked talking about Sye’s long journey to Crossroads, his thoughts on the “Christ is King” controversy and of course… we had to talk about the world ending (again) on April 8th.
This week P Nate and Pootie step into the studio to talk about whether or not Christians should watch the hit series about the life of Jesus: the Chosen. Far from trying to engage in hot takes, the Rebels look at the issue pastorally, trying to fairly assess what many have enjoyed and seen fruit from, while offering a few (hopefully fair) criticism and highlighting a few concerns along the way.
As P Nate and Pootie prepare for their trip south they take the time to quickly record a new episode talking through the headlines of the day. The Rebel podcast is meant to help equip you to engage culture with a biblical worldview, so thinking Christianly about what’s going on is a necessary first step.
After the popularity of our Biblical Cosmology series in the fall last year, Pootie finally plays catch up listening to the Haunted Cosmos and the Rebels nerd out on the unhinged.
There is an immense value in Christians understanding what the Bible has to say about the unseen realm, but pastorally P Nate wanted to issue a warning that this is an important secondary issue in scripture that can sometimes become dangerous if we make a secondary storyline THE storyline.
Everybody's heard about Alistair Begg's advice to a grandmother about attending her grandkid's trans gay wedding. Many have responded, and some people say that some of the responses have been harsh. The Rebels weigh in on this issue today - not so much the Begg advice issue itself, rather the criticism of harshness. What would Jesus say?!

In pastoral counseling Nate will often be asked how parents can keep their kids free from the entanglement of the world, the LGBT agenda, the lure of bad friend groups etc. The advice given applies equally though to having fulfilling marriages, thriving churches, great communities and even dynamic businesses.

One of the most used and yet most misunderstood passages of the last two years is Romans 13:1-5 – BUT what about all time? Well, we think understanding the new heavens and the new earth ranks pretty high up there.
Most Christians believe we are waiting for the new heavens/earth to be created after this earth is destroyed! If that’s true, is heaven going to be destroyed too? Is that how the new testament uses the word “new”? And why does Isaiah say that people die on the “new earth”?
We have questions! And hopefully some answers too!

One of the questions we seem to get a lot these days is a speculative question asking what we think the next several years/ decades will look like in North America, and more specifically here in Canada.

The last two years we have seen: Lockdowns that not only caused depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, drug overdose, pornography addiction and a host of other issues to skyrocket, but we saw the doors to churches closed so those affected could not get the help they needed; Government overreach and corruption sail to new heights; Small businesses destroyed, livelihoods taken, critical race theory infect every area of social, educational and political life, vaccine mandates take away freedom over invasive medical decisions and the list goes on...
First of all how does this trajectory fit together with a theology of historical optimism? And secondly, how do we see the next few years playing out in the culture?
