Stories of Christian transformation from around the world--Homecoming Queen to Witch Doctor. Hear miraculous coming-to-Jesus stories from all walks of life and be amazed at how God writes a story in all of us. And stay for the Sendoff, where we feature an artist’s take on each testimony shared. One80 is a production of OneWay Ministries.
Hear Jade’s testimony of growing up behind the Iron Curtain and during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. She shares how communist atheism, along with Buddhism, Taoism, and traditional folk beliefs, shaped her view of suffering, healing, and the supernatural. These influences eventually led her into fortune-telling and divination.
Yet even in that spiritual darkness, the faithful witness of Chinese believers began to bring light into her life.
The story takes a pivotal turn when her husband is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Through grief, doubt, and the timely influence of Christian colleagues, they begin to explore faith and ultimately choose baptism.
Follow Jade’s journey from the transactional spirituality of her upbringing to a personal relationship with God, where she discovers hope, comfort, and the assurance of being chosen and loved.

What would you do if you were in prison, labeled a security threat, and locked in isolation?
For Bert Berrios, it was reading the Bible.

Marco David is both a Chicago cop and pastor who finds himself leading Bert Berrios to faith in Jesus in prison–after he was one of the men who put him there. Learn how he came into that dual career and how God’s true calling on his life was neither of these.
Hear how Marco came to faith after overhearing another conversation where the gospel was preached. You never know who’s listening as you are witnessing to others!
Marco shares about what he calls collateral blessings, things that the enemy meant for evil and God uses for good, like his own multiple cancer diagnoses and the collateral blessings he finds in others’ circumstances. He guides us in reading the Bible, hearing what God has to say, and prayer.

What if the road out of faith is the very path God uses to lead you home?
Effie’s journey begins in a sun-soaked Cypriot village and detours through apartheid-era South Africa, where barred windows, schoolyard prejudice, and a harsh home life force hard questions about God’s goodness. How can a good God cause such prejudice?
Watch Effie's faith come alive after a friend's prayer to end nightmares. And
We walk with Effie as Scripture comes alive—offering a clear-eyed account of the fall, a compelling vision of the image of God.
Then, years in Chicago’s club scene pull her far from what she once knew. When everything unravels, an unlikely person through another dream lure Effie back to walking with Jesus. Effie returns—not with fireworks, but with a steady yes to a Father who gives more than second chances.
The show concludes with Effie's new biblical convictions on suffering and how to face it with God.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ve gone too far or asked how faith speaks to racism and suffering, this conversation is for you. Listen, share with someone who needs hope, and if this story resonates, subscribe and leave a review.

A single question on a crowded lunch line can change a life.
Matthew Karchner grew up steeped in church and Scripture, yet carried a secret that shaped his choices, hardened his heart, and led him into a “counterfeit freedom” that never delivered the peace it promised. From hidden shame to late‑night calls and alcohol‑fueled bravado, his world looked bold on the outside and empty on the inside—until an evangelist at a McDonald’s asked, “If you died today, where would you go?”
Hear how that encounter changed the trajectory of Matthew's faith, purpose and life, where he is the one proclaiming, "I've decided to follow Jesus; no turning back." And how a bold stand for faith changed even his profession to missionary pastor in Cambodia.
While Matthew found a new identity in Christ, he sheds light on the false identity lie often found with homosexuality.
You'll never see strangers the same way again, and you might be convicted to share the love of Jesus with them after listening to today's One80.

What do you do when your whole identity revolves around academic performance? Well, for Ava Ward, it wasn’t good. The stress to perform at top level caused anxiety, even panic attacks.
After a particularly dark freshman year of high school, Ava came to the realization that her obsession with good grades had become an idol. At Bear Lake Camp, she realized she had a divided heart and her idolatry was supplanting faith in Christ. She did an about face, changed schools, changed her mindset, even changed her career path to studying the Bible and art, things a smart person just doesn’t do! It all comes to a head when Ava forgoes her graduation speech as valedictorian, fruit of a new heart.
See what happens when Ava gives her burden of perfection to the Lord, gets an undivided heart, and pursues Jesus full on as a biblical studies major at Wheaton College
This episode would be encouraging for those battling anxiety or perfectionist tendencies, showing them steps to freedom in Christ.

What happens when a brand‑new believer faces mockery at home, financial strain, and a nation at war—and chooses to study harder, love deeper, and answer with reasons instead of rage? Raviv Dror shares his newfound faith and path through doubt, dialogue, and devotion, exploring how apologetics turned shaky mornings into a steady, lived faith.
In Part 2, Raviv explains how apologetics helped him both strengthen his new faith and share it with others. He ends with thoughts on the Israeli war, the Christian response, and how to pray for the nation.

What happens when a lifelong dream collides with an unexpected diagnosis? For David Suarez, the path seemed clear from the age of six: become a cardiovascular surgeon and heal broken hearts. David is now a high school Bible teacher as well as published apologist. See how God guides David from one passionate career choice to another, and how he is now fixing broken hearts.

Timothy was a lazy, phony Christian, cheating husband, absent father and porn addict. Timothy said yes to Jesus at a young age but walked away from a faith with shallow roots. He searched for meaning in life everywhere but God. He self-medicated and covered up who he really was, until he realized he couldn’t stop his fake life on his own.
“ I know this is wrong. I don't want to do this. I don't want to be hurting myself, hurting my wife, hurting my family, but I couldn't overcome it because of that sin that lived within me. It took repenting and laying those burdens down at the foot of Jesus at the cross.”
God would take him through change with Timothy kicking and screaming all the way. He now uses his own experience to lead other men overcome their addictions, save their marriages, and become better, stronger, Godly men.

What happens when a young woman raised under communist atheism begins to question why authorities are so afraid of a God they claim doesn't exist?
Join us for Svetlana Khomiak's remarkable journey from Soviet indoctrination to profound faith in this powerful testimony.
Growing up in Ukraine during the height of communism, Svetlana experienced the full force of atheist teaching—"no God, beautiful life" was the constant refrain. But a summer stay with her grandmother, who secretly hosted worship services in her rural home, planted seeds of curiosity that would eventually lead to an extraordinary encounter. Following a mysterious, supernatural guidance—worship music that only she could hear—Svetlana was led directly to a secret house church hidden in an apartment building, defying all logical explanation.
Refusing to wear the red communist scarf, see the consequences of Svetlana's newfound faith and strong conviction, from persecution to a communist household transforming with God's power.
Whether you're facing opposition for your beliefs or simply curious about how faith survives under extreme pressure, Svetlana's story reminds us that God will always lead genuine seekers to ultimate truth. As she quotes from Matthew 5:10, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Hear the heartwarming transformation of a killer turned Jesus freak. Hear how Louis Dooley entered prison at 19 with two life sentences and already planned to kill a third for sending him a care package.
”I kind of looked around and I was like, ‘Who is this, the welcoming committee or something?’
"And so I look in the box and there were a bunch of snacks, some socks, underwear, t-shirts, all things I didn't have. And so my first thought was ‘I got to kill this guy because where I'm from, you don't give somebody something for nothing!’"
Hear how a piece of paper that night gave him a new life sentence of freedom in Christ.
Louis was served two life sentences plus 100 years in prison, and amazingly, this is where his life begins. He made God a promise from prison and Louis never looked back. He received parole, got married, and is the leader of Philemon House ministry. He is the author of Prison Saved My Life.

Be amazed by the complete turnaround of Josh Poteet, from an alcoholic in a “Jesus adjacent” family to a pastor and author on discipleship in the home. Hear his compelling testimony as he eloquently and humorously comes to the truth and heart of "The Gospel of Done.”
” One by one as my world orbited around drinking, alcoholism started getting a hold of me. . . Everything that I thought gave me value was evaporating. And so my view on God continued in that vein of 'Yeah, God's real, but how could he possibly care about a guy like me?'”
Josh finally comes to the end of himself when he realizes God does care–so much that He gave His son! And the story of Josh’s baptism will have you laughing and crying.
This is a great show to share with those you know who might be suffering from alcoholism. There is hope in Jesus.

In this powerful testimony, a former Muslim revolutionary guard named Mahmoud shares how he entered a church intending to burn it down but instead encountered Jesus in a life-changing way. His remarkable journey from Islamic zealot to follower of Christ demonstrates the transformative power of experiencing God as Father.
• Mahmoud was a respected revolutionary guard and "living martyr" who initially wanted to prove the Bible hadn't changed him
• Inside the church, he experienced an overwhelming desire to call God "Father" and felt God's presence holding him
• After conversion, the Holy Spirit prompted him to apologize to his sister – something culturally unthinkable that demonstrated his new heart
• Imprisoned for his faith for nearly two years, he endured severe torture but experienced Christ's presence throughout his suffering
• Just days before his scheduled execution, international pressure led to his release
• After escaping to England, he founded "Father's Heart" ministry, serving in conflict zones and with refugees
• His life mission is helping Muslims discover they "are not orphans" but have a Father in God
• He now advises European parliaments about Middle Eastern issues despite being "just a mechanic"

Mahmoud, a former Muslim groomed to become an Ayatollah in Iran, shares his journey from religious extremism to spiritual transformation after a near-death experience during the Iran-Iraq War.
• Born into a prestigious religious family with generations of Muslim leadership and multiple mosques bearing their name
• First introduced to Allah through fear when his uncle burned his hand to demonstrate the punishment of hell
• Memorized the entire Quran by age 10 and was strictly trained to follow in his grandfather's footsteps
• Taught from childhood to hate Christians and Jews, comparing Christians to red ants they would burn with petrol
• Embraced the Iranian Revolution believing it would bring "true Islam" and export it worldwide
• Served as a paratrooper, tank officer, and eventually religious leader in the Iranian Army during the Iran-Iraq War
• Pronounced dead on the battlefield before spending six months in a coma and becoming a "living martyr"
• Intensified religious practices after recovery, praying 20 times daily instead of the required five
• Decided to convert Christians to Islam and reluctantly read the Bible to find fault with it
• First read John 4, which sparked an internal conflict between his Islamic understanding of God and Jesus's teaching about God as Father
• Confronted a Christian man wearing a cross and planned to burn down his church
Listen in next week to hear what happens when Mahmoud, on his way to burn down a church, encounters something that changes everything.

Something extraordinary is happening on college campuses across America. While headlines often focus on political activism or social trends among Gen Z, a powerful spiritual awakening is taking root that deserves our attention.
UniteUS represents the latest wave in this movement - a structured revival approach that's quickly spreading from campus to campus with remarkable results.
We traveled to Baylor University to witness UniteUS firsthand, giving you a front-row seat to what God is doing. That night, approximately 250 students made decisions for Christ, including an atheist who had simply followed the crowd to the event. But perhaps most remarkable were the hundreds of students who flooded the stage when challenged to commit to ministry and missions.
We interviewed Matt Baksa, a Baylor senior who's foregoing law school to pursue missions among unreached people groups in Africa. His story represents countless others making radical decisions in response to God's call. "There are 3.4 billion people that will never have the opportunity to even accept the possibility [of knowing Christ] without us going to tell them," Matt explained, capturing the urgency motivating this generation.
Whether you're curious about spiritual movements among Gen Z, seeking encouragement about the future of faith in America, or feeling the stirring to answer a similar call, this episode offers a glimpse into what could be the beginning of a significant spiritual awakening.

What happens when your entire identity and self-worth are wrapped up in athletic performance, and suddenly that's taken away? Wesley Tucker, an offensive lineman at Baylor University, lived this reality when a devastating injury sidelined him just as he was beginning to rebuild his relationship with God.
"I had a good game, I loved myself. I had a bad game, I hated myself," he said.
But God wasn't finished with him. See what happens through Baylor's team Bible study, as Wes gradually reconnects with his faith. Then came the defining moment – a catastrophic knee injury that ended his season. Lying on the field in excruciating pain, something shifted: "Okay God, it's yours. You want my attention? You have it.”
Have you tied your identity to something as fragile as performance or achievement? Listen to Wes's powerful testimony of finding purpose beyond the field and discovering that no one is ever too far gone for transformation. And see inside the college football God movements that preceded current larger movements happening on campuses nationwide

Gareth "Angel" Thompson is a pro wrestler with a mission. He holds Wrestling Church in Bradford, England.
"We do baptisms and body slams, sermons and suplexes. We've kind of brought these two worlds of professional wrestling and church together to tell Bible stories in a physical way, to unpack it in a language that people understand, to reach those normally not coming into church.
We do that through the storytelling narrative of good versus evil, of David versus Goliath, of Andre the Giant and Hulk.
And actually all these people are saying, 'Yes' to Jesus and they're stepping into the fight."
In his powerful testimony, hear how as a child he was mistreated and even left for homeless until Christians came to his rescue. Now Thompson shares his unique message of hope all over England.

Albert shares the incredible story of growing up under Nazi occupation in the Hague, Netherlands, and the malnutrition and tuberculosis that followed.
Being bedridden for years allowed a deep and profound anger at God to fester. Albert went from being angry at God to being a Jesus follower simply because of a friend’s challenge to be thankful.
Albert was so full of gratitude he went all over the world sharing business by the Bible principles.
In part 2, learn how Albert became a sought-after computer programmer, starting a lucrative consulting business. Albert was moved by a Christian friend's response to crisis and a challenge to Albert to be thankful even when he didn't feel like it.
"She tells me, 'I'm actually thankful that this has happened to me. I've never been closer to God. Whatever God decides is fine with me.'"
A mocking prayer of thanks from an attorney's letter was returned with salvation and a changed life. No longer angry at God, Albert's new life in Christ began with starting a Christian business men's group.
"I couldn't keep my mouth shut about Jesus anymore. I started with asking for prayer for my business." That initial prayer turned into a new business as evangelism model; Albert went on to teaching business principles from the Bible all over the world.
Albert's plea with God when he was sick as a child, to "become a missionary if I get healed," was answered years later. He did become a missionary, to business leaders worldwide.

His incredible testimony has him going from mocking Christians to becoming a Jesus follower dedicated to full time ministry all in the course of one night.
In part 1 of his moving story, learn what it was like to be raised in a conservative Pakistani Muslim family in Kuwait during the Gulf War.
"Growing up, I just didn't question anything. I was kind of in a Muslim bubble. So I just felt like God was just this God who wanted us to be and live a certain kind of way, an do good as much as we could and that's pretty much it. You can't help who you are and you do stuff, but you gotta pay for it. It's really about balancing your sin portfolio."
Hear how the war caused him to move to the US and unknowingly enroll in a Christian college, and how his believing brother gave him a challenge: if you ask God, He will reveal Himself to you.
Naeem started showing up at FCA meetings with his brother, but was mocking Christians. "But that's where I started to hear about this Jesus, this idea of a God who's very relational, who pursues you. I couldn't believe it. It thought it was just a fairytale. And so I would mock [my brother]."
Part 1 concludes with his fateful night of destiny and a scary visit.

Andrea is a Colombian American who was raised in the church. She shares her incredible journey from dark forces, substance abuse, an abusive relationship, and a brush with death, to life in Christ, found on a cold jail cell floor. Experience her profound healing and powerful renouncing of things past and taking back the light as a worship leader.
In part 1, learn how she was slowly lulled to the dark forces through a friend and the evil of a vastly popular childhood game.
Andrea said, "The boy was explaining this toy to us at lunch and told us 'Hey guys, this is not the real thing. The real board is at Toys R Us.' So we ended up going to Toys R Us. I grabbed the board. My parents innocently bought this game, not knowing what it was."
A dark force seemed to have a hold on Andrea and filled her with misery that caused rebellion from her loving family, even a drug overdose.
Hear how the depths of her depravity brought her to an even more chilling brush with death.

Hani James grew up in Iraq. Serving in more than one Iraqi war left him jaded and angry at God. "If anyone was injured, we cannot save them. I started to have doubts about God and blame Him."
Hani left Iraq and the faith. "I'm asking you God, and you're not answering." He searched for the answers in history and other religions but found no answers.
Everything changed for Hani when his daughter begged him to hear a preacher one Sunday. The preacher's message seemed to be directed specifically at Hani, answering many questions he had about God.
Hani was stunned and asked the preacher, who confessed the Holy Spirit had him change his sermon to help Hani. And the preacher told Hani that, just like the paralytic in the Bible message that Sunday, four friends would bring him to the feet of Jesus.
Friend number four was the man on the other line of the phone.
Hani gave his life to Christ and later became an online evangelist. Learn what that means, and check out our shownotes to find Christian organizations that use online evangelists.

Jesus Wipes Away 30 Year Drug Addiction Immediately
Keith Weaver had a life of trouble, hardship, heartache, and multiple incarcerations due to his severe drug addiction. “That desire and that craving was always on my mind, calling in my brain all the time. It was just constantly,” he said of his dark past.
Keith had tried to stop several times but found himself running right back to his vices. But one Sunday morning, a casual visit to his sister’s church brought Keith into the arms of Jesus, and free from his 30-year drug addiction immediately.
“You see, all these years I was under the impression that maybe if I could clean myself up, then I could come to Jesus, but I could never clean myself up. And the truth is, when I gave my life to him, he cleaned up for me.”
Also learn about his family’s persistent prayer for him and how the prayers were answered in restoration and new life in Christ. His story is a powerful testament to faith, redemption, and the miracle of transformation.
If you know someone struggling with a wayward family member, share the show to encourage them that there is hope and that prayer works.

In this intense and deeply moving episode, hear the transformative journey of RJ Johnson as he goes from the perpetrator of a grave crime and an attempted suicide, inadvertently on the wrong track, to prison, redemption in Jesus, and true freedom.
As he was processing through his pain and crime in prison and starting to read the Bible, RJ said, “There was a while where I'm like, you guys have to prove to me that this is real. Like you better prove to me through all these questions that I have. And eventually I started like going less from ‘Prove to me’ and more towards, ‘Help me, show me, share with me what it is like to accept Christ into your life.’”
But, God, the Bible and other believers finally broke through to RJ. He was then able to see God all around him in prison and even witness to a fellow convict who tried to murder him. His is a life truly transformed.
RJ is the founder of Not My Will Ministries where he coaches other convicted sex offenders to break patterns that got them to prison and to find freedom in Christ. RJ is the author of God Doesn’t Waste a Thing.
Be encouraged as you learn how God can redeem anyone from any sin and will use even the worst of circumstances to bring people to Himself. Today’s Sendoff features a OneWay Scripture song, If Anyone is in Christ.

When Dawson Trimble was thrust from a secluded Christian environment to public school, he realized that following Jesus was harder than just being a pastor’s son. During his teenage years, confusing moral questions from his classmates and peer pressure lulled him into spiritual complacency.
The Covid pandemic awoke new truths in Dawson’s heart. The isolation not only brought him time with his believing family, but also time in the Word of God. Gripped by conviction and shaken by truth, Dawson’s life changed dramatically. He attended Moody Bible Institute, which solidified his commitment to following the Lord into a ministry career.
Dawson’s story reminds us of the power of God’s Word to wake up a drowsy soul.
Today’s sendoff features OneWay interns Caleb and Alynna Olson who perform a song in honor of Dawson’s story.

Today's conversation on One80 features Rick and Jane McKinney, who share their unique and inspiring testimonies. Despite growing up in different parts of the world, their paths intersected in a way that reflects divine intervention.
They discuss their individual faith journeys, their calling into ministry, and their experiences walking across America to pray and share the gospel with everyone they encountered. Learn about Rick's amazing call to preach and his first sermon at 14. And be inspired as Rick and Jane give helpful tips on sharing the gospel after their many years' experience on the field.
About the inspiration for a prayerwalk across America, Rick shares,
“I had a series of sermons that started with reclaiming your own life and reclaiming your family, reclaiming your church, reclaiming your community. And the last sermon was always on reclaiming America, reclaiming our nation for Christ. And I was studying in Joshua chapter one.
I read the verse that said, 'Every place you put the sole of your foot, you can claim for me.' And I was the only one in the room, but I heard a voice. I don't always hear audible voices when no one's there, but that night I did. And the voice said, 'Do you believe that?' And I said, 'I do believe.'”
Today's Sendoff features Blind Tony with a prayer for the nation.

Kidnapped at 8, Jenni Ramsey, had a young life filled with trauma. She even hid underneath her bed at night.
It wasn’t until a friend invited her to a youth group that she found the safety and sense of belonging she had been searching for. Her commitment to Christ at a Petra concert became the most pivotal moment in her life, leading her to a fulfilling path in missions. And Jenni courageously took back the night at a Take Back the Night Event.
Jenni’s story encapsulates the power of faith in overcoming trauma and her dedication to serving others who have faced similar pain, ultimately bringing hope and redemption through her work in El Salvador.
Today’s Sendoff features fabled Christian heavy metal artists Rex Carroll of White Cross and Dave Miller of F.O.G., as they cover a Petra song in honor of Jenni, "More Power to Ya."

Thrust into adulthood as he moved across town to a new school, Micah became the new guy. He didn’t let on how uncomfortable he was, and how strong the need was to reinvent himself in his new situation. And he was totally unprepared for the onslaught of temptation that would come his way through social media. He went from Awana and pancake breakfasts to Instagram and pornography. He explains how he was then drawn into same sex attraction.
“I think right around the start of high school it became very clear in my mind, ‘Wow, this is who we are.’ And it was a very silent thing. And it wasn't like this big coming out party to myself; but I would say the words like, ‘Yeah. Be honest with yourself; be your true self.’ That's kind of everything that was being projected to me.”
But feelings of isolation and confusion only festered when he went to Liberty University, until the night Micah planned to take his life. That’s when the Holy Spirit prompted a friend to barge in; Micah’s rescue started that day.
“It all made sense. The same God who sent his son to die for our sins so that we could have everlasting life, that unconditional love, he did that despite knowing everything I was walking through-- pornography, online relationships with guys, and everything that entailed. God unconditionally loved me and he made that known.”
Micah rededicated his life to Jesus and repented. Being honest with himself, his maker, and talking to trusted friends, Micah found healing from his sexual sin and he now leads a blog called Path Toward Holiness, which gives Christians the tools to have tough and important conversations.
The Sendoff features a rap from TC Boyd the Artist, curated in honor of Micah’s story.

John Boyle’s young life was filled with abuse and hardship, though he was raised in idyllic West Virginia, heart of Appalachia country. Living this double life that was a secret to his tight knit community caused John to develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD. School became difficult and more than one teacher said he would amount to nothing.
According to John, "This is all I'd ever heard. My grades were deplorable. I was living a battle in my own head in school. I came from a home where violence was the norm. So that norm didn't shut off in my head. It became an echo chamber. My brain began to spiral these thoughts.
And when you're living in a home like that, you're not going to get mental help. You're not going to the doctor. You're not getting care. It was just pure survival. It was just another day. It was not out of line of what I was told at home or told by other teachers."
And later, John turned to alcohol to mask PTSD symptoms.
In his mid 30s, the doctor told John he was dying from the inside out with full-blown alcoholism. Even that couldn’t stop him from drinking. John was finally to the end of himself, where Jesus tends to do his best work. A desperate prayer was answered and John got clean. Just a month later, he enrolled in Harvard Business School. The rest, as they say, is history.
John is now a CEO of an engineering firm, author of the book, "The Appalachian Kid," national speaker, and White House guest.
Today's Sendoff features Mo Thompson reading, "I Met the Master."

There’s Christian light. And there’s Jason Perry. The former Navy SEAL, former SWAT Team member, and current pastor is not only Christian heavy, but wants us to see Jesus as a meek warrior too.
That’s the savior he found, after growing up an atheist, attempting to fill an abandonment hole with patriotism and coming to the end of himself, right into the arms of Jesus.
Speaking of his time as a Navy SEAL and hints of Jesus he encountered, "So these breadcrumbs that God put there are just men of God in my life that I noticed all have one thing in common. They all had an incredible peace about them.
The rest of us were raging and thrashing and dealing in a high octane profession, guys who have to decompress somehow. The only effective way I've seen people handle that without damaging themselves was Christians. Everyone else, we went to the bar and went to women and went to other things. But they went to the Lord and they were the only ones who handled it. They were the most resilient people I've ever seen.”

In his powerful testimony, hear how as a child he was mistreated and left for homeless until Christians came to his aid and how he now disciples wrestlers and evangelizes England with a unique message of hope.
"We've kind of brought these two worlds of professional wrestling and church together to tell Bible stories in a physical way, to unpack it in a language that people understand, to reach those normally not coming into church.
We do that through the storytelling narrative of good versus evil, of David versus Goliath, of Andre the Giant and Hulk.
And actually all these people are saying, 'Yes' to Jesus and they're stepping into the fight."

Liv LeDuc is a junior at Wheaton College and "the most reluctant future missionary." Though Liv grew up in the church, her own insecurities and bipolar disorder kept her from an intimate relationship with the Lord. She reluctantly chose to go to a Christian college, but while there, was overcome with the sincere faith her fellow classmates lived out. This encouragement propelled her to a personal relationship with Jesus, and a call to become a missionary. Be encouraged as you hear Liv move from being embarrassed about her faith, to wanting to share it with everyone.
Liv said of her bipolar disorder: “I was definitely very alone. Pretty much just kind of me and God wrestling it out. I have a lot of very distinct memories of me quite literally just weeping and crying out to God and saying, ‘Where are you right now? Like, why am I going through this? I don't understand.’
I just really could not see how it could be used for any good whatsoever. It was a lot of wrestling with God.”
Learn what it was like to suffer from bipolar disorder, how Liv got help and was able to move forward, and what it means to have an authentic relationship with Christ where seeking Him means finding.

Today’s One80 features testimonies from Muslim born believers from India, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, part of OneWay’s Love Muslims initiative. Be encouraged as you see how God moved mightily in their lives to call them to saving faith in Jesus and hear how you can be part of making One80s happen, by praying for Muslims during Ramadan, their month of prayer and fasting.
Join our Ramadan Prayer Challenge and get a Prayercast video delivered to your inbox every day that is guided by a former Muslim as they pray for their people. The subscriber joins along in this prayer, guided by prayer points and encouraging imagery of the land.
According to Chris Ruge, Prayercast Director who oversees Love Muslims, “One of the unique things about Muslims is the vast majority earnestly desire to know the Creator God. There's a strong faith in most Muslims around the world.
The problem is the information they have about who God is is incorrect. And so if they continue to follow that information, they'll never find who God is. And so the reason we pray, especially during Ramadan, is during this month Muslims are fasting and praying.
This is a time of heightened intensity where they're seeking after God to know him more and they believe that He'll reveal himself more during this month. They're asking to know God more and we're coming alongside and saying, 'Yes, God, we join with Muslims and ask that you would reveal yourself that they would see who you are for the first time.'
It’s a beautiful way for God to usher us in prayer knowledgeably, strategically, fervently and passionately for a group of people we may have never considered praying for before.”

Monty Rieck was a cowboy through and through. Hear how he went from a “black hat wearing” cowboy–rodeo roping, gun toting and chasing the things of this world– to the Cowboy Preacher.
Monty pursued a business venture and didn’t know he was surrounded by Christians. He was overcome with the love they had for their wives, and his own need for a savior. After saying “Yeehaw” to Jesus, Monty demonstrated Christian love for his wife, and biblical forgiveness for her and the men who had wronged him.

Izzy Koo grew up in a Christian home, but when her dad challenged her on what she believed, she didn’t have answers. Soon thereafter her friends who walked away from faith gave her an ultimatum: choose us or choose God.
Without thinking, Izzy chose God. This rejection was actually Izzy’s turning point. She decided to learn more about this God who was worth losing friends over.
“I decided in my heart to try to get to know this God I had claimed to believe. I was done just believing in Him simply because my parents did, or because I felt like I should.
I wanted to believe in God for myself. So the first thing that made sense to do was to read my Bible.”
Izzy poured through the Bible and eventually surrendered her life to Jesus. Izzy then developed a heart for others who were rejected.

Doreen Virtue grew up in Christian Science, which opened the door to the occult.
She became the top author in New Age. Her angel worship tarot cards were a huge success and people flocked to her Youtube channel for New Age false wisdom. Not only did she have sold out standing-room only events, but stars were coming to her palatial Hawaii ranch to get readings from her.
"So much deception. It was only through God's grace and mercy that my eyes were opened."
But open they did! One fateful day Doreen was listening to Truth for Life from Alistair Begg as he described a false teacher. "It was the first time I remember consciously the Holy Spirit convicting me." She left New Age behind and was deceived no more, the name of her book.
After becoming a believer, Doreen went to seminary, getting a Master's Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary. Hear her sound advice on spotting the occult. And learn why New Age and Christianity could never blend.

Kim Endraske was a passionate atheist who enjoyed debating Christians. Except that no one wanted to enter the ring with her.
“The Christians that I knew really didn't know how to answer me, So when I would say some comment like, ‘How can you believe the Bible is real?’ They would just kind of look at me; they couldn't really defend their faith.”
Kim was really just waiting for someone to engage her hard questions. “I really had no idea what I was talking about. And if someone who was really wise and had studied, they probably could have sat down and really talked to me. But no one really was there to walk me through and explain to me, that actually, there are scientific reasons to believe.”
This all changed when a new friend answered her prolific questions about Christianity, even though as Kim said, “He didn’t have any idea really what to say.” But since he wasn’t afraid to engage with her, when he actually shared the gospel, Kim became a believer. With her newfound faith, the Bible opened up for Kim and she embraced Christianity.
Kim shares how her faith got her through the death of an infant and how she now helps others going through the same grief.
Today’s show will be especially helpful for those who are intimidated to engage with atheists. Host, Margaret Ereneta, said, “It's interesting, we get so intimidated around atheists, ardent atheists, passionate atheists, but we forget that we hold the truth and they don't have it. We have something that they need to hear. And I love that you're saying if someone would've just told me this or had an argument for me, or just had the courage to speak up, it really would've helped and they didn't.”
Today’s Sendoff is a guided prayer for atheists from OneWay’s Prayercast.

Jonathan Hickory and trauma knew each other well. Childhood trauma coupled with on-the-job trauma as a police officer crippled Jonathan and compelled him to turn to alcohol as an escape.
“Police officers see the darkest moments in peoples’ lives in this fallen world,” Jonathan said in his book, Break Every Chain, which was made into a movie of the same name.
A Christian family’s response to their own pain and suffering made Christianity look intriguing, but Jonathan was so plagued with alcohol addiction that he didn’t have true eyes to see.
“The more I drank, the further I withdrew from God. Angry outbursts became a daily activity for me. I was dying inside.”
More pain and trauma followed Jonathan until his wife’s desperate plea for him to join her at church. That day he heard that God has the final word on pain with a message from 1 Peter that compelled Jonathan to saving faith.
"Jesus help me become the man my family needs me to be. Forgive me for what I've done. Help heal our wounds. Help me fix this mess I made please. As he slowly started saying yes to Jesus, his alcohol addiction abated and his marriage was restored.

David grew up in unfathomable circumstances in Maui, Hawaii–a hippie commune with ten moms, 23 siblings and a troubled father. As David was finally taken into Child Protective Services, he developed the drug habit of his father and grew even further from the person the Lord wanted him to be.
His brothers made a surprise visit to confront David on his lifestyle. Never having gone to church themselves, they told him to go. And David looked at them and said, “That's for old people. That's for boring people. No thank you!" But after their lecture, he felt a stirring in his inner being.
Everything changed when David visited a church for the first time. Even though he said to himself, “I dare you to bless me,” the blessings came, along with a decision to follow Christ. And as he made the decision to be a 24-7 Christian rather than a Sunday Christian, he went from a druggie to an evangelist in the span of five minutes! His old drug habits disappeared. He soon became the evangelist at his high school and on to a career of discipleship and pastoring.

But Don’s theology only got him into trouble, even a knife fight. A loving step mother and caring mentors guided Don to the only source to really pull him out of his bootstraps–Jesus Christ.
Don never thought he would make it past 18. But a kind mentor brought him to church. Don said of his early church days, "I literally would slip and sit in the back row. And then before the 'men' was done with 'amen,' I was out of there." God answered Don's desperate prayer to be able to read and understand the Bible, and from that moment, his life was changed. Don is now a pastor at Valley Church in West Des Moines, Iowa, where he heads up Valley Global missions.

Dr. Thilak Pappu was a Hindu of Hindus. Raised by a guru, Thilak served as a worship leader, a temple builder, and a searching for God mountain climber.
The striving and idol worship were weighing him down. Slowly over time Thilak started to ask questions to the only God who was actually listening. And God answered those questions, through the Bible, other Christians and an encounter with actual Christian worship. After Thilak became a believer, he got commissioned to the mission field by none other than Billy Graham.
Dr. Pappu holds his Doctorate in Ministry from Columbia International University and on the show, you'll hear valuable insights on Hinduism and reaching Hindus. Dr. Pappu studied 14 years under his guru, and as a believer, spent 14 years on his research on reaching Hindus.

Raised in Myanmar, Zam Muan thought that faith was merely showing up for church. But when the Holy Spirit opened his eyes at a conference, Zam traded his complacency for a new passion to do God’s will, and God gave him a new heart for worship. God’s timing was perfect, as the trial that was about to unfold in Zam’s life would require supernatural strength.
Today's One180 is brought to you by OneWay interns including Zam Muan (Music, Taylor University), hosted by Liv LeDuc (Communication, Wheaton College), and the Sendoff is featuring Ty Jones (Communication, Wheaton College).

A Ghanaian who resides in South Africa, David Sadik shares what it was like growing up in a prominent Muslim family. Hear what it was like to be raised by an imam who served as the village leader and the pressure that ensued as David was encouraged to be a model Muslim.
Once David started interacting with Christians and reading their Bible, he started to question his faith. He boldly asked God to reveal Himself, and that's when a mysterious man showed up on the beach. That man was Michael Thompson, founder of OneWay, while he was serving as a missionary in Ghana.
Through the love of Michael and the Christians on his team, David was being drawn ever closer to the truth of Jesus. Hear the amazing circumstances that finally propelled David to commit to Jesus and how that same love spurred on his entire family to become Christians.
It's a story that has Acts 16:31 written all over: "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved--you and your household."

David Harrop didn’t know how stuck he was. Growing up Jehovah’s Witness, he thought he was in the true church and Christians were misguided. A series of events got David to start questioning his religion and considering Christianity. But when he got stuck on Alligator Alley, God got ahold of David in a powerful way. On that day, he marched into the church office proudly proclaiming his new faith and his new life in Christ began. He started serving door to door, but now for the true church of God. He serves as a missions pastor and has never looked back.
Learn what it was like for David to grow up Jehovah’s Witness, what they believe, and how difficult it was to walk away. Be encouraged as you see how God used many people and circumstances to bring David to saving faith, including a chain-smoking Jesus actor, an alcoholic who did a complete 180 right in front of David, and a complete stranger on Alligator Alley.

James Johnson was raised by a devoted single mom on the south side of Chicago. Regardless of his caring upbringing, James chose a life of rebellion and drugs in his teen years that spiraled into full-blown addiction for 45 years of his life.
It wasn’t until James withered away to 135 pounds and had a bad overdose that he was truly at the end of his rope--at 60 years old. With the help of Wayside Cross Ministries, James was able to finally lay drugs to rest and put Jesus in the center of his life. Because of his transformation, friends refer to him as "contagious and infectious." Mahmoud grew up in an Iranian prominent Muslim family. His grandfather served as an Ayatollah and Mahmoud was to follow in his footsteps. His faith in Islam even got strengthened as he became a “living martyr” who wanted to learn Biblical Christianity to keep it out of his country. When he encountered a Christian who invited him to church, Mahmoud became so angry he planned on burning down the church.
”He got me so angry. I said, ‘Yes, I'm coming.’ My student turned back to me. He said, ‘You’re going to church?’ I said, ‘Of course I'm going to church. This is my country. I give up blood for this country. This is Islamic country; this is my city. We give a right to Christians to have a church in my city. I'm going to burn that church down!’”
In Part 1 hear what it was like to grow up in Iran, what he thought of Christians and how Mahmoud started reading the Bible to fight them. Our Sendoff today features Prayercast.

As a teen, Jamie Howard fervently studied the world religions in order to find true meaning. She had come to the conclusion that if there was a God, he would be perfect, and expect the same perfection from us. So she developed The Perfect List, things she was going to strive for to attain perfection.
But her quest led to despair when she realized she was still far from perfect. While at the end of her rope, she was invited to a Christian camp and there she learned what God really believes about perfection. Her search was over.

Jon Noyes believed Christians were mentally bankrupt and their thinking? “Foolish fairytales” from a “cosmic skydaddy.”
He would enjoy taking out the Christians he knew, in order to tear up their faulty theology. He says many did not have a defense of their faith.
But one fateful night, truth came crashing through the door–literally, as he met the love of his life. “How could someone so smart believe these foolish things?” he boldly asked her.
God started to work in Jon’s life. He was passionately searching for truth, and found several bumps with reality he couldn't reconcile. He even attended Biola’s seminary as a seeker, ultimately finding the truth he had been denying within the pages of the Bible. Now Jon helps Christians defend their faith with Stand to Reason and teaches at Beacon Hill Classical Academy.
In 2013 Jon earned a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, graduating with honors.

Hear Austin Delgado’s astonishing transformation from addict to pastor. His past of drugs led him to a double life–by day, a law clerk, by night, a homeless junkie. As God does, He worked in mysterious ways right at Austin’s rock bottom, where Austin’s desperation led him to use Bob Marley songs to pray to God the only way he knew how. God answered those prayers as Austin’s two worlds soon collided and his fallacy was exposed. Be encouraged as you see how God miraculously heals Austin from his addiction and the lies he tried to hide it with.
Part 1
Hear the mindset of an addict as Austin takes us through his sad past. Austin shares how he was “utterly enslaved by the needle,” which caused him to lie, cheat and steal for his addiction. See how our times of desperation allow God to do His most amazing work.

Karen Felton thought that if God loved her, He had a funny way of showing it. A series of unfortunate events in her childhood led Karen down a path of shame and numbing her pain with drugs and alcohol. Destructive behavior kept her far from God, even at barstools at 4 am.
When a chance job at the Salvation Army put Karen in the path of God’s people, a simple invitation to dinner set her on a course of life transformation with Jesus. Through Jesus’ love, Karen was able to heal the deep wounds of her past and share the love of Jesus with those walking wounded around her. She is now a lieutenant officer at the Salvation Army, spreading the Good News to Kansas City and beyond.

Born in Malaysia to Sri Lankan parents, Harann seemed to be a model Hindu. He paid regular homage to the elephant god Vinayaka and had a key role in the Hindu festivals, but the real Harann preferred the endless pursuit of fun.*
After his Friday prayers, his Saturday sins would accumulate. He wondered if there was more to true happiness. In the quiet of night, a voice inside Harann told him to seek the truth. His months-long quest led him to the feet of Jesus.
“By Monday,” Harann says,” I was a different person. No other object on this earth could have done that for me, but Jesus Christ alone.” He also got a new assignment, to tell others about Jesus, doing missions in a completely new way.

As a young, new mom, Margaret Ereneta would often get asked by her son to tell him stories.
“Mom, can you tell me a story of a bad guy who turned good with Jesus?” he would ask.
This began her obsession with testimonies. She devoured books on personal testimonies and developed a habit of asking people to tell their stories.
“But what about the stories that haven’t been written, or even told yet?” Ereneta asked herself.
Years later, Ereneta has turned her passion for stories of transformation into a mission to share these testimonies with the world. She is the visionary behind One80, stories of transformation.
