Tune in today as we dive into the last episode of Abide where we look at how we can be transformed by the Word of God. On Thursday, we will wrap up the series with some application points!
Perseverance. It is not an easy task, especially when life can feel long and hard. What does abiding in Christ look like as we are persevering? Continue to look through John 15, as well as Hebrews, with us as we seek to answer this question together.
What does Jesus invite you into when He calls us into abiding Him? Today, we will contine our series in Abide where we look at what we are able to recieve from Jesus as we Abide in Him. Follow along in John 15 to be able to see the kindness of the Lord towards us.
Waiting is a part of the Christian life and it is a part of abiding in Christ for all your needs. What does it look like to wait well for the glory of Christ? Look at John 15 with us today to seek more understanding on the topic of waiting well for Christ.
Abide is a word that gets thrown around in our culture but there can be a lack of understanding of the richness that comes in that word within scripture. This series will take a deep dive into that word so that we can know what it means to stay in God's word, even when life gets hard. Today, we are going to look at an overview of John so that we know the context of the passage that will be the backbone of this series, John 15.
Stand by your man, Part 2. What does it look like to serve your husband and care for him in a way that makes him feel loved? How does this serve your family, your husband, and yourself? What does it look like to love your husband with your words and deed? All of these questions will be answered in this podcast. Come along for the ride!
When you look back on the moment that is today with your husband, do you remember what lead up to this? Do you remember the dating? The first time you fell in love? Or the wedding? Do you remember why your marriage is worth defending?
Culture has hijacked the word submit and distorted it into something that is no longer biblical. We are called to submit to our husbands, but what does that mean in a world that had villianized this word for us? Come alongside of me as we work through the word submit. In part 1, we will unpack how we must seek God and how we must understand our man.
The cost of loving Jesus is giving up a lot of things, but the reward of loving Jesusn is so much sweeter than anything we could ever want. Listen in for the last episode of our Love serise to see what that reward is!
Love's Choice. The Lord gives us abundant opportunities to love Him and obey Him, but do we always trust him enough to to lean into that love that overflows into obedience? Today, we will be looking back at scripture to see how biblical characters in the Old Testament trusted the Lord and what their love for the Lord looked like. If He is who He says He is, we will obey. I am excited to dive into who God is so that we know we can trust Him and love Him deeply.
Now that we have a solid explanation of what love is, come along with us as we explore how God shows His love all throughout scripture. The ESV Study Bible would be a great resource to use while listening to this podcast. It will allow you to dive deeper into the verses that we will be looking at today!
In a world where love has multiple different meanings, my goal is to look into scripture and see what God says about love. Love is all around us and in order to love God and others to the glory of Him, we have to understand how God tells us to love. Come along with me today as we take a deeper look into this hefty concept.

Today, I will be diving into the importance of Lent and how that important time period can shape our walk with the Lord and grow us in deeper love for thiose around us. Matthew 4, Mark 1, and Luke 4 give us a look at how Jesus was tempted by Satan and continued to fast for 40 days and 40 night. In Matthew 6, we get to see what God calls us to when considering fasting, prayer, and giving. We will also look at the Lord's prayer to help us have a deeper understanding of these concepts.
If you enjoy listening to Real Refreshment, we've got another great show that you'll want to add to your playlist. Let us introduce you to Team Us!
For husband and wife Ted and Ashleigh Slater, the 1987 film The Princess Bride is frequently playing in their home. For them, one of the most memorable characters is Inigo Montoya. His patience and persistence as he hunts for the six-fingered man remind them that it takes time to execute a “death wish.” But what does a “death wish” have to do with marriage?
While they joined a new team when they promised, “I do,” that doesn’t mean the unity and cooperation is going to be easy or automatic. It takes time after marriage to make that transition from “me” to “us.”
One reason is that all of us come to marriage with ingrained habits. These are the things that steal joy from our relationship, keep us from walking in unity and practicing cooperation, and can even weaken our resolve to stay committed.

February's Meditate and Memorize, Psalm 119. Following with the theme Abide, we are going to be diving into Psalm 119 and looking at how we can love all things of this world in the right order. CHILL OUT: Part 5. We are going to wrap up our series on CHILL OUT and review what all we have learned so far! Today we will dive into the final letter T to understand the need we have in taking no credit for what is around us and instead just thanking God for all that He has done for us. What a blessing it is for us to be able to praise God for all that he does and the sovereignty within His character! Join us today as we move closer to our glorious God together.
CHILL OUT: Part 4. Today we will be diving into the O and the U in CHILL OUT. When we are caught up in getting everything perfect, sometimes we forget the bigger picture of what the objectives are that we are supposed to be sprinting after and we forget to laugh. We forget to have joy in our children, which is what has become the commmon conclusion in our society. Follow along with us today as we open God's Word to remember what our goals should be and remember to enjoy our children.
CHILL OUT Part 3. Today we will be discussing the two L's of CHILL OUT. LISTEN to God (Proverbs 3:5-6) and LISTEN to others around you (Phil 2:3). Often times, trust in society looks a lot different to what God calls us to in His word. How do we as moms and as Christians lean into what God is saying even if it doesn't make sense to us. Not only listening to God vital but also we must listen to our kids and our Husband. What does it look like to live out and practice loving others more than you love yourself? Tune in today as we finish up CHILL and next week we will look into the OUT portion of CHILL OUT.
CHILL OUT: pt 2. Today, we will dive into the H and I. In Mark 6:31 God calls us to "Hit the Breaks" on our lives and lean into the fact that Jesus sees us, knows us, and wants to invite us to trade those moments of intensity with moments of rest. Also in Hebrew 12:1-3, he tells us to ignore the competition and the opposition. We often get distracted by the race of others around us, thinking that ours should be the same as theirs. The fact is that it is not and never will be. That is a gift from the Lord so that we can strip off the comparison that we are always falling into. Come along with us today as we dive deeper into allowing ourselves to hit the breaks and ignore the competition.
Attention Obsessive Compulsive Perfectionist Control Freak... CHILL OUT. If this resonates with you, welcome! I am so glad that you have found this short series! This is for the people that can't quite seem how to allow God to be God and take a step back from the control panels. When you feel like you have to be God and that you have to do it all for Him, especially when it comes to your kids. Today we are going to dive into the C of CHILL OUT and see how we are able change the way that we thing. Let's open up to Romans 12:1-2 to see what scripture has to say to us who fall into this camp.
M&M #1: Psalm 1. Either you follow hard after God or you don't. But that doesn't come immediately. How do we love God and follow him while living within our limits so that we are able to flourish in our walks with God? The primary job for us is to know who God is and know Him deeply. When you understand that, everything else tends to fall into place. Dive in with us as we lean into memorizing and meditating on Psalm 1 and look at what it looks like to follow hard after God.
Meet My Man, Part 2. Last episode, you heard about how we met but in this episode we will be talking about God's faithfulness throughout our marriage, specifically the hard moments of marriage. Listen in to see how God has carried us through. Also, give our other Podcast a listen, where we talk all about homeschooling in "Let's talk about Homeschooling".
Today, meet my man! Davis will be joining us to give you an insight on the first couple years of marriage and all the events to lead us to where we are today.
Journaling. A topic that many of us move away from due to mixed emotions about what will be brought up in the process. So in this podcast, I am going to advocate for something that seems really hard. How do we process through the joys and pains of life using journaling and prayer? We all have things bottled up inside of us and we may not know what to do with it or just don't want to deal with it. So how do we dare, as believers, to go to God in prayer rather than social media with the feelings that we have? How do we walk the line between putting it all out there in the name of being real while still being wise with our words and the medium that we use?
Your journals do not have to be just prayers. They can contain life updates, conversations with God, reminders of God's faithfulness, or anything that is healing to your soul. There are so many options of what your time in journaling can bring. I hope that you can be encouraged to venture into something hard with me and feel connected to not only your feelings but ultimately to the Lord with the art of journaling!

What does it look like to pack away another year? 2022 is over and so what does it look like to finish well? Some years are easier to move away from and leave behind, but that doesn't mean that God doesn't use those years that you would rather forget about. Sometimes He uses those in abundance. Today we will take a look at Philippians 3 and gain a better grasp of the main theme, which is Joy! We will dive into what it means to rejoice in the Lord, beware of people that do evil, and put no confidence in your flesh.
As we leave 2022, what are we going to leave behind and what are we going to carry with us into the next year? Our goal, as Paul tells us, is to gain Christ and hope in His resurrection. So follow along with me as we dive into Philippians 3 and Psalm 103 together!
Saints, Seeking, and Serving. What does it look like to seek God? Sometimes we pray prayers and expect something out of God but when that prayer is not answered exactly the way that we want it to, we think chalk it up to being unanswered. What does that say about the way that we view God and the way that we seek Him out? Today we will take a deeper dive in Luke 2: 25-35 to gain a better understanding on what it looks like to seek and serve the Lord and those around us.
