In this episode Karl Daly of Humanli chats with Meghann Scully, Radio/TV Presenter/Journalist/Blogger/Author to hear all about her new publication Little Pocket Of Love. Brendan Ring chats with Karl on the reasons himself and his wife Terry set up Cliona's Foundation. This is a very personal story about what happened to their young daughter, Cliona and the long and painful journey they all undertook together as a family. Brendan tells us about the horrible news they got out of the blue one day when Cliona came home from school having hurt her head in an accident in the classroom. What happened after that is a story you hope you never have to experience BUT the fact is hundreds of families go through something similar each year in Ireland. It is also a story of good, a legacy left behind and a hope instilled by Brendan, Terry and everyone involved in Cliona's Foundation that there is a helping hand reaching out to those in need. It was a pleasure to put this together.
In this very first Humanli podcast, Meghann Scully chats with Karl Daly Founder and Social Impact specialist. Karl spent over 30 years in the Financial Services industry but in early 2019 decided to change direction and founded this new business in the Social Impact space. Humanli is here to assist Companies implement a focused social impact programme and to make a real difference in their communities. Humanli is also creating a 'family' of charities and community groups that once they meet certain criteria can plug into the network and be matched with a suitable corporate partner. Social Return on Investment is measured to give both the Company donor and Charity/Community group a result to measure the impact the collaboration has made. Following research in this area it has been established that Companies often come up short in certain areas and need a process as opposed to a reactionary 'tick the box' approach where Social Impact, Corporate Sponsorship etc is concerned. Then on the Charity side it can be difficult to engage with Companies and get support. This is where Humanli comes in to create the link between the resource and the beneficiary. The whole idea of the phenomenal good that can be achieved is explained in this first episode.....enjoy!
