Here are two poems of mine, both set in supermarkets. The first is called Shakespeare in Morrison's, the second Five Items or Fewer. I hope you enjoy them.
In this podcast, Anthony White reads two of his poems, one fairly recent, one written several years ago. The first is a 'Miserable Love Poem' (Miserable Love Poetry is a genre he claims, falsely, to have invented); the second is in his guise as 'The Deathbed Poet'.
In this podcast I say Happy Birthday Bob Dylan and then read one of my poems. The poem is called Wednesdays.
I begin this podcast with a poem written over 400 years ago, which is, nevertheless, bang up-to-date; after which I read two of my own poems, which are 'written from Lockdown'.
This is my first ever podcast (so be patient!). I am Anthony White, spoken word poet in Folkestone, UK. Since the COVID emergency hit, there has been little opportunity to perform, so I thought it time to look at other platforms. This is a poem called I Am. I had read the poem of the same title by John Clare, the great 'peasant poet' and wondered what would happen if I started a piece with the words I Am. This is the result. I hope you enjoy it, and I will be back with more podcasts soon.
