Micah helped his dad develop equipment for Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation for infections and chronic disease. The business took off with recognition from Harvard Medical by Michael Hamblin.

A few years later, Micah dropped out of nursing school and quit his work on the ambulance.  In 2014, he started to develop equipment for ozone therapy because there was a need for a less expensive, stable unit that people could use at home.  Ozone therapy had a synergistic effect to UBI, so it was a good fit for him because he understood it well.

Now, Micah owns Simply O3, an ozone equipment company and works to educate and get the word out on ozone.

This week, I interviewed the power couple Dr. Tom and Lauren Williams of Roots Family Chiropractic. AKA my favorite chiropractic practice ever. Their chiropractic locations are located in both Chicago and Northwest Indiana. In addition, they have an amazing instagram feed. When it comes to parenting, they are my inspiration. I wanted to bring both of them on to chat about not only nervous system chiropractic, but also on homesteading, and holistic and brain-based parenting.

Roots Family Chiropractic is one of the most highly rated chiropractic practice in Chicago and recently grew roots in Northwest Indiana. Their focus is to primarily serve pregnant women, children, and adults looking for something different when it comes to their health. They help kids and adults struggling with hyperactivity, sensory sensitivity, trouble sleeping, ear infections, digestion, stress, and discomfort.

This episode was so fun to record, I hope you enjoy listening!

This show today is all about PFAs. I am joined by consumer health activist and watchdog, Leah Segedie of Mamavation.com and Shift Con.

PFAs, also known as forever chemicals, are a very dangerous class of chemicals popping up in all areas of life. These chemicals stick around in the body for years as well as in our environment. People are rising up, laws are being passed, but it is just the beginning. This is one of the most important classes of chemicals people should begin to familiarize themselves with so that they can improve their health. Leah knows her stuff and is sharing all of the details in this episode. Give it a listen and let me know what you think by sharing it to your instagram stories and tag @holisticwithheidi and @lifelong_pod.

Joining me today is Kayleigh Christina, the Co-Founder and COO of CLEARSTEM, a nontoxic anti-aging and anti-acne skincare line.

As a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, published author, podcaster, and investor of wellness-based brands, Kayleigh has a deep passion for making a positive impact in other people’s lives. Her journey into the skincare world began when she developed numerous health issues - a breast tumor and severe cystic acne in her mid-twenties - and tried in vain to find a cure. After countless doctors, dermatologists, and specialists, no one could figure out what was going on. That’s when she took matters into her own hands and discovered San Diego Acne Clinic, where she met co-founder Danielle Gronich. Not only did her acne clear up, but through their sessions, the duo discovered their mutual passion for helping other acne sufferers achieve clear skin through internal and external methods without sacrificing their health. That’s when CLEARSTEM Skincare was born.

We chat about...

Overcoming acne holistically

The dangers of acne medications

The science behind acne and how to prevent it

Acne-triggering foods and what to eat instead

Natural and synthetic pore-clogging ingredients

Non-toxic living

Skincare trends to be cautious of

WEAR PLANTS NOT PLASTIC.

Did you know that the fashion/textile industry is one of the most harmful industries to both human and planet health?

Synthetic fabrics are usually made from polyester, a product of the PETROLEUM INDUSTRY.

There are a few routes toxins can get into our body. These include INGESTION, INHALATION, and DERMAL ABSORPTION.

Our skin is our largest organ, and can absorb certain chemicals through dermal (skin) absorption. This is a cause of concern when wearing toxic clothing made from petroleum-byproducts and other ones treated with stain guard, water proofing, and other things chock full of chemicals like PFAs, pesticides, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and toxic dyes.

My BEST TIP is to wear clothes made from natural fibers as much as possible. GOTS Certified organic cotton is my personal fave.

NOTES:

At this point in time, most of us have probably heard of EMFs. With the rapid growth of technology and innovation, EMFs have become increasingly more prevalent. The downside of all this exciting technological growth is that these EMFs have negative effects on one's health, but the good news is there are things you can do about it. Admittedly, I am still learning about EMFs as a toxin. Today, I had the opportunity to interview of one the most well-known women in the EMF education community, August Brice of Tech Wellness. August has a passion is mindful living in our digital world. Her online platform, TechWellness.com is the only comprehensive online source that addresses all the challenges of our modern digital world - from EMF Radiation and effects of blue light, to Cyber Security and mental wellbeing with tech. On top of her on-going research, August has built an Advisory Team consisting of world-renown experts in each area, who consult with Tech Wellness and review all major content on the site. Anything August shares on her platform are tested and is never supplied or sponsored to avoid any influence. While this episode addresses a deep topic, August keeps it light, fun, and extremely positive. So join me in welcoming August Brice!
