This week we are joined by Elizabeth Taban from One Culture Football, an organisation in Adelaide that provides opportunities for young people from new arrival, migrant and First Nations backgrounds through football.  

Lizzie has grown through the program, from participant to facilitator, helping forge a path for young African women in Australia to realise their potential in and outside of football. Her passion for the game is infectious, and is a must listen for any young person looking to make a change in their community.

In our first episode we are joined by Thomas Kent from Charlton Invicta FC, the first ever LGBTIQ+ inclusive football club affiliated with a professional club - Charlton Athletic FC. 

Thomas tells us the journey back into football after leaving the sport as a teenager struggling to cope with the social pressure of constantly 'coming out'. Through Charlton Invicta and the Gay Football Supporters Network (GFSN), Thomas and others find a safe and inclusive place to play football. He talks through the importance of visibility, allyship, and good humour, as well as why you should never step on a paper bag.
