3 Major Talking Points: 1 Forces of Habit Chapter 5 Introduction Recap 2 Sobriety and the Sober Curious Movement 3 Reset Mind and Body
-Segment One: Chapter 5 - "A Trap Baited With Pleasure" introduction from Forces of Habit Drugs and The Making of the Modern World. We'll return next week to continue to discuss why so many are prone to addiction and why others are not. Part of addiction has to deal with natural born human nature, but also environment contributes to the problem.
-Segment Two: Living a Sober Lifestyle -Rather than focus so much attention on people on drugs and controlled substances, let's focus on people choosing to stay sober and why.
-Living a Sober Lifestyle or Sober Curious Movement: "This movement gives people the chance to be more mindful of their drinking habits and decide for themselves what they want their relationship with alcohol to look like. Being sober curious does come with health benefits, even if you decide to drink sometimes."-verywellhealth.com
-Segment Three: Mind & Body Reset prior to the holidays and getting prepared for the new year. Plan now, enjoy the holidays, practice some of the goals you hope to accomplish in the new year right now when you're focused on having fun. For some, they're able to restart or quit vices cold turkey with their new year resolutions. For many, it's a transitional process. Allow yourself some wiggle room and flexibility.
-If you want to eat healthier but not ready to give up everything, introduce a new food item into your weekly meal plan. Make a list of new things you do like so in the new year when you're ready to make a full change you're ready to go.
-One fun way to force yourself to try new foods is to host an Iron Chef themed potluck. Pick a new ingredient. Everyone spends a week researching new recipes, they make a dish and bring it to the gathering. Pick and choose what you do and don't like.
-Practice fasting during this season with the reward of a holiday party to attend after you've accomplished your goal. This includes alcohol and other drugs, as well as foods, sodas, and sweets.

3 Major Talking Points : 1 Sample From The "Yeah, But" Examples 2 Change Your Life Chapter 12 3 Digital Assistance and Further Teaching Tools.
Segment One: "Yeah, But: Advice For Tough Cases"
Pg 194 -"Yeah, but what if I can't calm down quickly enough? I've been told not to go to bed angry, but sometimes I think I need time alone?" - "What, but what if I don't trust the other person? How am I supposed to deal with that?" And other examples of extreme cases
-1 Example out of 17 that you can read from pages 194-214
-Pg 200 Failed Trust: "I don't know what to do. I'm not sure I can trust this person. He missed an important deadline. Now I wonder if I should trust him again."
-The Danger point: "People often assume that trust is something you have or you don't have...Trust doesn't have to be universally offered. In truth, it's usually offered in degrees and is very topic specific. It also comes in two flavors-motive and ability.
The Solution: "Deal with trust around the issue, not around the person. When it comes to regaining trust in others, don't set the bar too high. Just try to trust them in the moment, not across all issues. You don't have to trust them in everything. To make it safe for yourself in the moment, bring up your concerns. Tentatively STATE what you see happening. 'I get the sense that you're only sharing the good side of your plan. I need to hear the possible risks before I'm comfortable. Is that okay?' If they play games, call them out.
-"Also don't use your mistrust as a club to punish people. If they've earned your mistrust in one area, don't let it bleed over into your overall perception of their character. If you tell yourself a Villain Story that exaggerates others' untrustworthiness, you'll act in ways that help them justify themselves in being even less worthy of your trust. You'll start this self-defeating cycle and get more of what you don't want."

Acts 19:11-20 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Segment 1: Modern Day Slavery: Latina Farm Laborers and their safety and well being. 28% females "In this study, female farm workers reported greater stress and anxiety than women working outside the agricultural sector." Was Simply extended to everyone.

"Be Careful Before You Become What You Detest" Podcast Overview
3 Major Talking points: 1. Women's Renaissance Empowerment Offensive Art 2. Health Crisis 3. Film: Death Sentence and Checking Your Thoughts
Intro: Hello and hope you're doing well whenever you're seeing this, hearing this, or reading this. I'm your host, That Girl, Jenna Curacoa. I go Live on Facebook and Youtube Monday through Saturday 2323 (11:23PM). I'm on Blog Spot, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.
Segment 1: Been reading comments from the most recent issue of CA Educator magazine August/September regarding the cover photo of their June/July issue, severely critiquing a rendition of Birth of Venus and Rosie The Riveter. Most posted comments are focused her looks and features. Can a woman not be simply a woman? It's also an animated depiction, but still. One quote: "Too bad an artist did not create an image of blended ethnic heritage to reflect the changing demographic of teachers in our population."
Segment 2: Health crisis plaguing our country. White women affected by infertility. Black women affected as well with several health concerns. Women need to approach one another differently. Empowerment starts with our choices, starting with our thoughts. Personal experience, coming from a mixed background and daughter with pale complexion and colored eyes, despite ethnic heritage. Bringing up that story Hair Love. It also depicts the health crisis plaguing everyone.
Segment 3: Film, Death Sentence. Great warning for retaliation and Potentially Becoming What You Detest. Our Thoughts also need to be held accountable even if no one else knows what you're thinking. It catches up to you, affects your overall health in long run. Ultimately, myself included, be careful where your thoughts lead you before you become the person you don't like.

Segment 1: Glad to hear more stories about home schooling and teachers deciding to leave the schools and form their own private home schools. Very encouraged to hear about campuses and employers offering professional childcare onsite for single mothers or families to utilize in order to survive in this country.
Segment 2: Treatment of one another and looking at how we empower women. At this point in our society the question is how do women really want to be treated? I can understand why modern men are confused. With the demands of equal rights for everyone, how does one handle incidences of sexual assault from both genders' perspective? How do we educate our young people on these matters and truly care for one another.
Segment 3: Discovered an outdoor classroom reading an article from CTA (California Teacher's Associating) article High-tech Outdoor Classroom started by Heather Farrell Sustainable Outdoor Learning Environment (SOLE). Very creative and thinking "outside of the box." Offering children a great environment to learn. Thousand Oaks Highschool

"What Fuels your Fear" Podcast Overview
3 Major Talking points: Battle of the Sexes and Safety, Social Media Mind Control, Learn from "The Man and the WoMan"
Intro: Hello and hope you're doing well whenever you're seeing this, hearing this, or reading this. I'm your host, That Girl, Jenna Curacoa. I go Live on Facebook and Youtube Monday through Saturday 2323 (11:23PM). I'm on Blog Spot, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest
Segment 1: Josh Brolin, famous actor, white male. Read a recent article from "Men's Journal" interviewing him and attempting to gain better understanding into his perspective of fear. "The idea of safety sounds like death." Another quote, "All fear is self-created. None of it's real." He's at a point in life where it's "fuck it mode." Been studying about use the use of fear, and the downsides of being in a constant state and how damaging it can be in the long run. There are major concerns for people to be cautious, more so for women than men. It is difficult to get into the mindset he's expressing for varying reasons. I do not want to accuse him of being out of touch, but perhaps he is. Many women would like to feel as comfortable as he does about not living in fear.
Segment 2: Media has an affect on the minds of its consumers that takes me back to yesterday's podcast about the film Get Out. The focus of that film depicts a black man as the victim which brings up many conversations surrounding that theme. It also exhibits the influence of TV and hypnosis. So many, men and women of any race fallen victim to the powers of social media, many kept stagnant by fear. Many may not realize that they're being held captive by fear. Someone or many people have been able to get in the heads of many victims, leading them astray. Depression, anxiety, insecurities.
Segment 3: Learning from others, even "The Man." As always, the balance needs to be there. I usually avoid expressions like "My Truth." The reality for many is the only truth they can understand. To hear that Mr. Brolin lives a life feeling safety sounds like death and all fear is self created, makes me wonder about another white male's video (simonlee107)where he shares his experience of walking out of a building the same time as a woman. He observed her behavior and realized she was afraid of him, quickly getting into her car and locking the door. He was so unaware of the fear many women have of men, possibly from negative experiences with them. What we can learn from both of these perspectives. Is the fear self created, and what does the past effects or presents affects of abuse have on this mindset?
Closing: Hope whenever you're consuming this content you're doing well. Tomorrow is Sunday, so no Podcast. Be back Monday with more. God's Peace
