The Our Wisconsin Revolution Podcast is dedicated to having robust conversations about the current state of politics in Wisconsin. We will challenge power, question mainstream narratives, and provoke critical thought about our political discourse.
In this week's episode, Anders and Will interview Milwaukee County Supervisor and State Representative Ryan Clancy! Representative Clancy and others have unveiled a package of bills regarding Wisconsin's abhorrent conditions of confinement and include things like banning slavery as punishment, allowing for hot water and showers, and humane conditions in our prisons. Anders and Will also discuss the news of Henry Kissinger's passing.
This week, Anders and Will meet with Alex Brower and Greg Brown to discuss the campaign to democratize and publicize the ownership of Milwaukee utilities. They cover areas from affordability, to sustainability, to transparency and the special legal pathway in Wisconsin for municipalities to democratize energy production including localities where this is already the case.
This week, Anders and Will meet with Milwaukee County Supervisor and Assembly Representative Ryan Clancy, where they discuss Ryan's recent comments saying, "all jobs have dignity and value, except cops." They further discuss the recent stories about the MCSO failed audit of deaths happening in jail, and reports from the New York Times about the horrific conditions inside Wisconsin's state prisons. Anders and Will also discuss their main takeaways from the first GOP Presidential Debate.
This week Anders and Will meet with Madison Alder MGR Govindarajan, and they discuss a recent controversy over the approval of "luxury student housing" in Madison. Anders and Will also discuss the confirmation of Justice Protasiewicz and the implications of the Law Forward lawsuit filed to reverse the state of Wisconsin's gerrymandered maps.
This week Anders and Will meet with Grist writer John McCracken on a piece he wrote about the long-term impacts of the rail industry and their poor safety practices on small towns including impacts from large rail monopolies. Anders and Will also discuss the SCOTUS striking down the Biden Administration's student debt relief plan and what is next!
This week, Anders and Will are joined by leaders of the OWR Environmental Committee, Adam Kassulke and Sam Laude to discuss their work holding the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, an anti-democratic body that makes decisions regarding many important environmental and conservation issues in Wisconsin. Anders and Will also discuss Governor Evers signing the 2023-2025 Budget and his 51 partial vetoes.
This week, Anders and Will talk with Milwaukee School Board member Missy Zombor about the disastrous GOP budget bill, and it's impacts on public schools in Milwaukee. From the expansion in the voucher program, to the cuts to Milwaukee's schools, and the mandate to bring back SROs and take local control away from the school board, they discuss why if Governor Evers stands with working families, he will veto this budget. Anders and Will also discuss the SCOTUS ruling on Trump's "independent legislative theory" in a big win against partisan gerrymandering.
This week Anders and Will talk to Associate Professor of Democracy and Justice Studies, Professor Jon Shelton about "school choice" in Wisconsin and the malicious GOP attempts to keep funding away from Milwaukee Public Schools, and the budget impacts on the UW System. They also discuss the impacts of Act 10 and Scott Walker on the state of the Wisconsin school system.
This week Anders and Will interview, Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice Studies at UW-Green Bay, Harvey Kaye. They discuss the results from the SCOWIS race, SD 8, and local progressives across the state and what is next for Wisconsin.

They discuss cannabis legalization, the mass incarceration of black people due to the war on drugs, and the rotten American policing system. This week, Anders and Will interview Milwaukee County Supervisor Peter Burgelis about the planned I-94 project in Milwaukee and it's impacts on the surrounding communities and the future of public transportation in Wisconsin. Anders and Will also discuss the Biden plan to break the Railroad Union strike.
