Introvertpreneur: Recent Episodes

Tara Reid

The beauty of starting your own business is that you can build it on your terms around a lifestyle that you design. But trying to build a business with strategies made for extroverts is a recipe for burnout.

This is the podcast built for service providers who are introverts and struggle with online marketing, mindset issues, and dealing with clients. I’ve been an online entrepreneur since 2007 and love helping introverts discover stress-free ways to build a successful business.

Each weekly episode will be full of actionable advice for using marketing strategies that are effective-like Pinterest, and email marketing, as well as creative ways to engage on Instagram and Facebook. These strategies will allow you to connect with clients and never make you wonder if you should just return to your old 9-5.

Finding that you’re busy all day, every day, but don’t really seem to be getting anything important done or hitting your goals yet? Well, there’s a chance you could actually be self-sabotaging. Today’s podcast guest realized she had an underlying fear of success which meant she spent all day caught up in the busywork and never tackling the things that would help her grow. After working through a plan she created to approach this belief, she doubled her revenue in three months. That guest is Giorgia G, a transformational coach, leadership trainer, podcaster, and author. 8 years ago, she packed all her belongings in a tiny pink trolley, booked a one way ticket to London, and off she went to build her coaching business. Since then, she went on to work with 100+ 6- and 7-figure entrepreneurs, business leaders, CEOs, and even award-winning comedians to help them reach their next level of success, double their income, and sell out their programmes - without hustling.

In this episode, we’ll dive into:

  • Why being afraid of not fitting in with others holds us back
  • The reason negative comments affect us much more than positive ones
  • Acknowledging what you’re avoiding and why you need to face it
  • How to celebrate your wins to encourage a positive mindset

If you’re a service provider, you’ll probably know all too well the feeling of working all hours and a complete lack of boundaries when it comes to your clients. It’s not bad, necessarily - it stems from wanting to provide a great service - but when it leaves us burnt out and struggling to move forward in business, we need to work out why we can’t let the “employee mindset” of undercharging and overdelivering go.

Diving into this with me today is Shannon Mattern, a business coach for web designers via the Web Designer Academy and host of the Profitable Web Designer Podcast. She's all about helping ambitious women web designers create freedom, flexibility, financial independence and fulfillment.

In this episode, we’ll dive into:

  • Why we maintain an employee mindset even though we’re our own bosses
  • The importance of raising prices to avoid burnout
  • Why it’s vital to maintain client boundaries
  • Maintaining boundaries with your clients
  • The 12 web designer archetypes and why you should find out yours - even if you aren’t a web designer

If your first response when told that you need to share more stories is “but I don’t have any stories! And the ones I do have are way too personal!” then today’s episode is aimed at you! There’s no reason to feel like you need to share wild tales or deep life events with your audience to get them to know you better. In fact, relatable stories can often be the way to go to get your followers or readers to resonate with you and your life more. She supports female founders around the globe to craft value-centric, story-driven content. As a former librarian, Jennifer believes in the power of words, research, and storytelling. Now, she's on a mission to help more business owners expand their impact by harnessing these tools.

In this episode, we’ll dive into:

  • Why your life definitely isn’t too boring to share your stories
  • The reasons that pain point marketing is not the way to go any more
  • The importance of building connections and lasting relationships with fellow business owners

What mindset obstacles are you currently facing in your business as an introvert? For me, a big one has been the comparison game, especially when scrolling through social media. Another challenge could be feeling like you have to show up on social media constantly to make sales, which affects your self-worth. Once you manage the obstacles in your way, you are able to serve your audience more effectively and build a business that you love.

In this episode, Emma-Louise Parkes and I explore how she went from corporate aviation coach to business + mindset coach, how clarity and mindset work contributed most to her success, mindset obstacles she has faced, and some of her hard no’s in business and on Instagram.

In this episode, Sandra Stanisa and I explore how her year-long honeymoon unexpectedly inspired her successful marketing agency, how important it is to test your content in different formats and why she believes Pinterest is the perfect marketing platform for introverts!
