Patty Upton has had a nomadic lifestyle since she was a child. Her father served in the Marine Corps, and as a result, she moved from one duty station to another. As she grew older, she found herself in the former Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama. She graduated from Balboa High School in 1971 and spent two years at the Canal Zone College. Patty felt at home when she began working as a secretary/receptionist at the Canal Zone Girl Scout Council. She had been a member of the Girl Scouts since she was young and had achieved the rank of First Class, which was the highest award a girl member could receive at that time. She later became the office manager at the Girl Scout office, but unfortunately, her position was eventually eliminated. However, at the same time, she was presented with the opportunity to join Loren Upton full-time on his Jeep expedition: "A World Odyssey - The Epic Voyage of the Sand Ship Discovery." Patty didn't hesitate to accept the invitation! After several world adventures and many years later, Patty is here to share her incredible story with us. Lory Perfect has been an avid off-roader her entire life and loves to be outside in nature. She grew up off-roading, from mid-west terrain to desert trails of the Mojave Desert, but Baja is her ultimate favorite. She started riding motorcycles at age seven and grew up riding around with her Dad, Mr. Perfect, in his Manx style dune buggy. Her family owned and built many Volkswagens over the years and got into off-road racing when they moved to California. Lory was naturally the person organizing group skiing trips, camping adventures and taking her friends to watch off-road races in Baja, Mexico. In 2002, she was approached by a travel company to start leading group adventure trips in southern California and Baja California, Mexico for TotalEscape.com. Five years later, she founded Perfect Adventures. With 38 years of Mexico travel experience under her belt, she knows how to lead a group through Baja’s varied terrain while keeping everyone safe and energized. She enjoys sharing the local culture, food and hidden gems of Baja with newbies, while creating memories for a lifetime. Lory is passionate about leading group adventure trips in Baja California, Mexico and sharing international traveling tips with other like mixed adventurers. After attending her first Overland Expo, she was hooked and applied to be a presenter. Lory has overlanded in the USA, Baja California and mainland Mexico. She loves solo overlanding in the USA. She is now prepping for a big overlanding adventure starting in 2024. Stay tuned…

Having traveled around the world by boat in 2005, perhaps it was only a matter of time before Azure O'Neil was drawn to the overland community. In 2011, she left a career in Washington, DC to learn how to make wine and explore the wide-open spaces of Australia and beyond. Since then, Azure has overlanded through 31 countries (both by two and four wheels), including a multi-year journey on her 1989 Honda Transalp which brought her from coast to coast and top to bottom of both North and South America. Azure’s “work breaks” while overlanding have seen her harvest winemaking, swabbing the decks of scuba dive boats, and reporting locally, and throughout her travels, for a TV news station in her part-time “hometown” of Sarasota, FL. When she’s not working to put together Overland Expo’s first-in-class educational programming, Azure can be found moto-camping, paddleboarding or planning her next big trip: a long motorcycle ride through Russia and Mongolia. You can follow her travels @MyTicketToRide, where she documents her adventures in motorcycle maintenance, creative two-wheeled dismounts and occasionally shares the coordinates of her “new favorite” wild campsite.
