Girl, just do it. In 2025, I want you to practice having the audacity to do anything that's put on your heart and stop overthinking it. Want to try out for a team, have the audacity to do it, want to ask for more chicken in the Chipotle line, have the audacity to ask for it, and want to say "No" with no explanation, have the audacity to say it.
We can always be better people towards others when we show up for ourselves first. Be bold, fearless and unafriad to take risks. This practice will only help you during audition season.

Let's get you through the rest of December 2024 with these three tips!
Have a happy holiday and happy new year!
Listen in as Jasmine descirbes 3 ways teams can justify cutting you from the roster. It takes some self-awareness and reflection to understand if you are doing any of these.
At the end, Jasmine mentions an epsisode where she interviews Beyonce's former dancer, Kim Gingras. That episode actually aired before this one and can be found here as episode 142! https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/kKK2AuOO8Ob
You all are in for a special treat! Kim Gingras is on the podcast! I grew up watching Kim in Beyonce's videos (think Beyonce self-titled era, 7/11, Partition, Mrs. Carter World Tour and more!), seeing her on tour with Beyonce and seeing her in many music videos.
Kim Gingras is an award winning dance artist known for her outstanding career as a professional performer, choreographer, educator, public speaker and TV personality. “Dedicated”, “creative”, “charismatic”, and “inspiring” are just a few words to describe this Montreal native internationally sought after for her roles both in front of as well as behind the camera.
Having spent the last decade living in Los Angeles and working with the biggest musical icons in the industry, Kim is officially back in Canada on a mission to spread self-love and positivity on all of her upcoming projects.
As a performer, Kim has worked with Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor, Madonna, Dua Lipa, Backstreet Boys, Nicole Scherzinger, John Mayer, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Gwen Stefani, Nick Jonas, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Pharrell Williams and more.
She has graced the world’s most prestigious stages on programs like Super Bowl, Grammys, MTV Movie Awards, The Voice, Ellen DeGeneres, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, X-Factor and Coachella to name a few.
Some of Kim’s choreography credits include the French version of the hit TV series The Masked Singer - Chanteurs Masqués (TVA), A Little Late with Lilly Singh (NBC), Lights on Canada Day (CBC), Bouge! (Radio-Canada), Cochon Dingue (Télé-Québec), Reitmans, New Balance, L’Oréal, Marie Mai, Saute Dans Mon Monde, Fillactive and DANSEncore International Festival.
Throughout the years, Kim has gained the love and respect from not only her peers, but from tens of thousands of fans from around the world. She is an inspiration and mentor to so many, especially young women. Committed to making a difference and impacting those around her, Kim has founded the PROFESSIONAL DANCE CAREER COURSE, a mentorship program to guide, support and unite aspiring entertainers from all corners of the world including Australia, Russia, Spain, Ireland, England, the United States and Canada.
Whether it is in film, on stage, in a commercial for the latest product or through various educational roles, Kim always looks forward to combining creativity, professionalism, enthusiasm, and her tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in the business to help one’s vision come to life.

I could go on and on about how amazing the KCD (@knickscitydancers) rebrand is. They really are setting a new tone for pro sports dancing and I am here for it!
Definitely understand how much dancers love what they do, but I think it’s amazing that these dancers are being valued by their organization through resources, compensation, support and benefits. Dancers are such an important part of not only the entertainment industry but the sports industry as well!
I’m so glad they are setting the standard for organizations across the world and I hope many other organizations can recognize dancer value and show up in the same way.

We often focus on the hopefuls during shows like this, but do we know much about the coaches and directors and understand the job they've been given?
I think once we understand how they handle auditions from their perspective, we may learn to navigate auditions in a different way.
We also touch on what's next after pro cheerleading and finding who you are after moving on from dance.
Check back for Part 3!

Amber Tacy says she doesn’t have direct ties to the professional cheerleading world (other than a handful of auditions for the Brooklynettes and Jets teams), but she did work as a professional dancer in the commercial space on TV shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Films like How to Be Single and Ads including Anastasia cosmetics and Ruby Tuesdays.
She has technical training in ballet, modern, and jazz from Marymount Manhattan College, where she got her degrees in "Dance Science" (exercise science for dancers) and Psychology. She found that she was a great performer, but no matter how much she worked on her technique and no matter how many classes and styles she took, she just couldn't keep up with the other dancers in NYC.
When she got a part-time job working at a fitness studio in NYC, she saw the science of training come to life. She learned about lifting, recovery, and nutrition and after a few months had certifications in all those areas. More importantly, she applied her dance-science book knowledge with physical skills in the gym and FINALLY started seeing improvement in her dancing... her career... and her confidence!
In 2020, like many dancers, her dance career took a pause so she quickly shifted her focus to supporting dancers in her community and thus, “Dancers Who Lift” was born. It’s an online fitness and wellness community for professional and recreational performers who want to feel hotter, stronger, and book their dream jobs. Her programs have served over 2500 performers, she’s personally coached 300+ performers, and her team is still actively coaching dancers globally. It's her personal mission to get a barbell in the hands of every artist so they can take up more space and shine their brightest. I think this is an amazing concept and I’m all for it. I am so glad there’s someone in this space who is talking about this. Enjoy this episode with Amber and get to lifting!Find her @dancerswholift IG, Facebook X, and TikTok

Today's episode dives into comparing ourselves to see if we have a chance based on how many people already are on the team that look like us. I dive into the history of why we do this (in particular black women) and what we can do instead while preparing for auditions. This episode applies to everyone in someway because we always compare and subconsciously can diminish our own chances of making a team.

What is body positivity and how can you learn to accept the beautiful gift that is your body? Professional cheerleaders can be criticized for their bodies by the media, fans and even their coaches. It's important to understand that your body is a gift. It's your temple and it's even allowed you to do many things in this world such as dancing. In this episode from our June 2021 Bootcamp, we go over the issues pro cheerleaders may have dealt with when it comes to body positivity and how you can overcome them. We also talk about fitness and nutrition. Enjoy!
