This week I touch on not only my personal experience with an eating disorder, but the correlation between those who have suffered from sexual violence and eating disorders as an aftermath. This week February 27th is National Eating Disorder Awareness week and I want to put my story out there in the hopes that I can maybe help one other person that is "too young to know." Just because I was "too young to know" doesn't mean that your child has to be.

Do you feel that you experience symptoms of fight or flight when your body undergoes symptoms of toxic stress? Fight or flight is often developed in adolescent years and will consistently show in adulthood if not treated properly. It can lead to serious detrimental health issues if not treated promptly including heart disease, a halt in brain development, and studies have linked it to cancer as well. To manage your stress properly it's important to practice mindfulness in every day activities.
