Kalen and Emily are pros at managing email culture. They’re also pros at sharing their unsolicited thoughts, opinions, and advice about everything from capitalism to pop culture. Join these best friends as they recount stories of navigating the non-profit industrial complex, question the “business as usual” approach to life, and laugh so hard they forget what they’re talking about. They invite you to join them as they try to find clarity in this messy but beautiful life.
Growing up is realizing you are the only person responsible for you. Developing a plan to nurture the relationship with yourself is key to becoming the person you want to be. In the meantime, however, there can be tension between who you’ve been socialized to be and the way you actually want to live–this tension requires our attention and tending. Particularly as we navigate the Loneliness Epidemic, it becomes increasingly pertinent to recognize how our relationship with ourselves may be affecting how we build community and fully show up in our life. Join Emily and Kalen as they explore the process and responsibility of creating intentional relationships with self and others.

As two people who never placed that much of a priority on romantic love, our hosts break down their own perspectives on the importance of continuing to nurture friendships and other non-romantic relationships into adulthood, as well as how to sus out boundaries and when (+ how) to gracefully bow out of a friendship.
