In this episode we are continuing the Cinder Spires series by Jim Butcher with the Olympian Affair! We are excited to get into this book and lucky we got into this series late and didn't have to wait nearly ten years for this book to come out like many of you might have had to do.
We can't wait to get in deep with this book as it might just satisfy some of our curiosity about why they have can't survive on the surface. But who knows maybe the Olympian Affair will leave us with more questions than answers! That's ok...as long as we don't have to wait another ten years for the next book!

In the final chapters of The Aeronauts Windlass we get some exciting scenes! The final battles did not disappoint. Excitement, surprise, and a very good read! Folly discovers some interesting things in the Elsewhere and manages to anger the stuck up Cavendish! Very satisfying to see her put down!

We are going to finish up going through The Sunlit Man! Its a little sad to be finished with the year of Sanderson. We did feel good about the ending and I guess that's all you can ask for. Everyone story seems to wrap up nicely and I personally hope Sigzil won't have to keep running for the rest of his life. Maybe we will see him again after Stormlight 5.

Chapters 23-26 - Its time to test some experiments! Nomad is eager to test out some more of his theories and so far it seems to be working! He frees Elegy to some extent and he is able to get at least one working rocket. Which means he should be able to copy and paste from that one and make their escape! But of course when something seems to get going good there is something bad waiting to happen. The Night Brigade has made their appearance!

Nomad gets to work so everyone doesn't have to die on a..."mountain". He is a pretty smart guy and figures out a way to escape the dead end corridor and we have no idea what he is talking about when he explains his plan lol. He soon learns how these Threnodites make all of their equipment and I wish we could do something like this. I'd build all sorts of stuff if only I knew how to make a schematic!

Nomad and Rebeke escape the Cinder King, Rebeke only just gets away with her life. The Cinder King however already has forces ready to attack Beacon! In their attempt to escape Beacon and all her people get trapped in an area with no way out. With a impassable mountain ahead of them and the Cinder Kings forces behind them and the sun soon to come and burn everything they have no options but to accept their death. The Cosmere goodness keeps on coming. We will get more details about the cosmere at large!
The search begins! Nomad is hoping to find the door that will lead to his way off this planet and the Threnodites are hoping to find a new way of life free from the constant glare of the sun and away from the Cinder King. It proves to be a little difficult as the sun like to change the landscape every day. While searching for the door a scout is spotted leading us to believe the Cinder King already knows what the people of Beacon are up to!

In this last episode of Yumi and Painter's story Yumi shows us stacking rocks is actually useful! I didn't see that coming. Painter and Yumi have their respective final battles! We for one where a little surprised on how they went down. Brandon is really good and leading us down one idea path then showing how far off we are haha. That's the kinda thing we really enjoy reading. After the Father Machine is destroyed things go back to normal. Its been so many years since there was a normal that it is not so normal anymore.

Its time for the final boss fight! With the connection severed Yumi and Painter must figure out what to do on their own. Yumi works her way out of the machine control and does what she can to end the machine! Painter thinks he has to take on the army of nightmares alone but he realizes there is another way!

Painter and Yumi do their best to take down the machine and...well they get a A for effort. The scholars are already so far ahead of these two they don't even stand a chance. They have another machine that severs the connection between Painter and Yumi. Hurling Painter back to his own body and Yumi is left to have her mind reset as if none of this ever happened!

After Painter's past comes into the light Yumi decides they need to get out and take a break. What better place than a carnival! Yumi gets to see many new things and she even uncovers her skill at nocking over boxes! Her and Painter draw a little closer making us think they are becoming more than just friends.
The fun was brought to an end when the nightmare Painter has been trying to warn everyone about makes its move to feed on Yumi! Good times can't catch a break.
Near by when the nightmare attacks is Tojin and Akane. Maybe now people will believe there is a stable nightmare running loose!

Painter is done being walked all over and we are so excited about that! He's going to start doing things in Yumi's world a little more his way. Through his new attitude we find out Yumi has been lied to all her life about how the yoki-hiju needs to act which changes her entire outlook on life. Hopefully that means these two will make some real progress in helping the spirits

Painter is becoming quite the stacker...by our standards. But by Yumi's standards he has an impossible way to go. Meanwhile Yumi seems to be doing better at painting. She also is doing a good job at making Painter's life a little harder. Yumi also is taking a liking to Painter's old friends who are slowly revealing that Painter might not seem like the person we know him to be.

Painter and Yumi are still struggling a little with working together in each other's worlds. But they are starting to get a little better. We get a nice surprise at the noodle shop and unfortunately Yumi doesn't make a mess of herself. Ah well. At the noodle shop we get some answer as to what is going on but we are still left wanting. Painter has conceded to learn rock stacking and by some miracle Liyun doesn't give any attitude about "Yumi" learning to stack rocks again. Maybe she's turning? Probably not...

Painter is having a tough times with things. He's getting torn out of his world and has to act as the yoki-hijo all while Yumi is not being so nice. Even back in his own world things are just not going his way. Everyone thinks he is a lazy jerk who treats his sister like dirt. Will Yumi and Painter get it together and figure out what's going on? Well lets go into the pages and find out!

It's bath time! Unfortunately this might not be the relaxing and enjoyable bath you and I would like. I personally prefer to bathe myself and certainly alone. After a nice embarrassing bath, especially when its with other people, it's nice to faint...not really though. Yumi and Painter are having a rough time getting tossed back and forth between each others worlds and they are starting to loose a lot of time. Let's hope they can figure out what's going on. I don't think I can take the suspense much longer! And I don't think these two can take many more face plants!

This week Painter faces off with the strongest nightmare he's ever encountered! Yumi wakes to find a strange boy in her little carriage and thus Yumi and Painter meet! It is unknown how this happened or who might have brought Painter to Yumi. We must hope they don't have any malicious intent. It looks like Yumi and Painter are going to have to learn to work together and with only one body!

Yumi and Painter are having trouble in their own worlds finding their purpose. Both have important rolls but they don't seem to be very fulfilling. On top of that the people they serve don't seem to be very grateful! Liyun is anything but helpful and the people Painter saves from the nightmares have come to expect it and don't show any sign of gratitude.
We also learn of Hoid's fate. He some how seems to find himself in a trapped state of one sort or another. How is it he will get out of this one when his Spren is no help at all! Hopefully he will get help before too long.

Patji is a very hostile place where everything literally wants to kill you even the most innocent of things. Despite the many horrors Dusk has managed to make a living off this island with the help of his two birds that offer him a unique advantage on this jungle island.

The next secret project is out and we are so excited to get into this new story! So far this book is turning out to be mysterious! We don't know what's happening and we don't even know the characters name. Which isn't a surprise since...he doesn't even know it himself! We'll have to do a little of our own detective work to learn why our mysterious friend has turned up in medieval England.

In this weeks episode we finish up Tress' story...for now? We don't know if we will be seeing Tress, Charlie or any of the crew in the future. But you never know.
It's been quite the journey getting Charlie back from the mysterious Sorceress and both he and Tress have done a lot of growing and the crew of the Crow's Song got a new Captain who will more than likely take them to new heights now that the King has pardoned them.

We have been betrayed! Huck the beloved animal companion has sabotaged the effort to save Charlie. Getting into the Sorceress' tower just got a little harder. Or maybe it got a little easier.
Ulaam's confidence that the Sorceress will just kill everyone is a big help to Tress' waining resolve. Her noble intent to keep everyone else safe leads her to venture out on her own with the one being that could help her or bring her to an end.

To stay on the ship Tress take on the job of sprouter. Oh man can she handle it? Huck will have to put all is sneaky rat skills to the test as his arch nemesis is on board!
Tress keeps up the good work with her scrubbing. She's looking to get a promotion! Using her rat companion Tress spies on the captain trying to learn more of what this unusual pirate ship is all about. She discovers a way off the ship and gets a little show!
Tress has escaped the doomed ship she was held prisoner on! But is she out of harms way yet?
