Welcome to Fight For Your Finances with your host Paul Halme. It’s time for you to develop the winning mindset, habits and skills for success.
They don’t want you to win, it’s not your fault. We are not equipped with the tools to be financially successful.
This podcast will give you the tools to fight for your finances and build the life of your dreams. We’re glad that you’re here.
In this episode, we discuss the importance of having a financial freedom account and how you can increase your automation to achieve your financial goals. The Velocity Money Machine is built around the idea of having a financial freedom account, and you don't have to invest if you don't want to. You can opt for high-yield savings accounts that can earn you up to 4% interest, which is significantly better than what banks offer.
Paul challenges listeners to look at their automation and identify which accounts they can increase. It could be your fun account, your Quick Access account, or your financial freedom account. Even small increases, like adding $1 to your fun account or $2 to your Quick Access account, can compound and add up to more money over time.
He also encourages listeners to increase their automation when they get a raise. You don't have to stress about saving all your money and not having any fun. The key is to have a balance between saving and having fun. By creating these accounts and making small increases, you can achieve financial freedom and change your life for the better.
So, look for opportunities to improve and increase your automation. Every little bit counts, and it will help you achieve your financial goals. With the Velocity Money Machine, you can create automations that work for you, so you can sit back, relax, and watch your money grow.

In this episode, we talk about how you can retire as a millionaire even if you're 45 years old and haven't saved anything yet.
To retire as a millionaire at 65, you need to save $1,340 per month at a 10% rate of return. It's going to hurt a little bit but it's worth it. You need to dedicate the next 20 years of your life to putting money away and investing in the market.
For those who can't afford to save $1,340 right away, Paul suggests starting with $500 and adding $100 every month until you reach the target amount. And if you receive a bonus or a raise, use it to make up the difference.
You need to get started now, even if you're already 50 years old or older. The Velocity of Money Machine is an amazing tool that can help you automate your savings and investments, allowing you to focus on other aspects of your life.
Don't get down if you haven't saved anything yet, you can still retire as millionaires as long as you get in the habit of saving and investing. Keep the foot on the gas, up your savings, and enjoy your retirement.

In this episode, we share a quick tip on the importance of communication and goal-setting in the pursuit of financial freedom.
If you're a husband or partner listening to this episode, we have a tip specifically for you: take some time to ask your spouse what their big money goal is for the year. This is an important step in building a strong financial foundation as a couple.
It can be easy for men, in particular, to get caught up in their own goals and plans without considering their partner's desires and aspirations. But by taking the time to ask your spouse what they want and what their big money goal is for the year, you can better understand their priorities and work together to create a plan that aligns with both of your goals.
This is a simple but powerful way to improve communication and build a strong foundation for financial success as a couple. So don't skip this step - take the time to ask your spouse what their big money goal is for the year and work together to achieve it.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of maintaining momentum in the pursuit of financial freedom and success.
As the month of January comes to a close, it's easy to start feeling like you can let off the gas and take it easy. But now is the time to really focus and put in the work to set yourself up for success. This is what we call "separation season," a time when you can really get ahead by making extra efforts and adding momentum to your progress.
There are lots of small things you can do to add momentum to your progress, like going to the gym one extra day a week, walking an extra 2,000 steps a day, or following up with one more client or lead. The key is to always be looking for ways to do "one more" thing to move forward and make progress.
Don't let off the gas in January and risk falling into the same trap as so many others who start the year with big plans but quickly lose steam. Remember, momentum is key to achieving financial freedom and success, so keep pushing forward and making the most of each day.

In this episode, we share a quick tip on how to review your credit card offers for travel perks and benefits.
One of the best travel hacks is to get a co-branded credit card linked to your preferred airline. This way, you can earn rewards and benefits specific to that airline. For example, if you frequently fly American Airlines, you should consider getting a credit card that is co-branded with American Airlines. This will allow you to earn rewards and perks on all of your flights with that airline.
Another option is to use a credit card like American Express, which offers a wide variety of rewards and perks for travelers. However, it's important to review the offers carefully and make sure you are taking advantage of all the benefits available to you. Sometimes, you may need to claim an offer in order to receive it, even if you are using your credit card.
So, take a little time to review your credit card offers and see what travel perks and benefits are available to you. This can help you plan your next trip and make the most of your credit card rewards. Remember, it's all about maximizing your rewards and taking advantage of every opportunity to save money and earn bonuses.

As entrepreneurs and business owners, it's essential to think and plan ahead for the unexpected. If you have a spouse and children, and you are the primary breadwinner of your family, it's especially important to consider getting a life insurance policy.

Take the time to think about the amount of money your family will need in the event of your passing, and make sure you have a plan in place to provide for them. Your loved ones will thank you for it.

I was on a few podcasts last month, and financial education kept coming up.
I want you to focus on your financial education, it's going to change your life. I promise. Educate yourself and keep learning.
I want you to break your financial cycle. Start learning about finances, learn about investing, building up, equity, building up all these things that are going to change your life, your kids life, grandkids. And you're going to be the one that broke the cycle, and delivered for your family. And most of all for yourself. So you can enjoy things when you're older.
Talk about money, talk about finances, talk about investing, and just keep lifting it up and you're going to notice talking to your spouse talking to kids, they'll start bringing it up and that's the best part when they bring it up without you bringing it up, then you know, you're doing the right things.

Quick tip: how often do you talk to your spouse about your money situation?
This is huge. It's so important, you have to be on the same page to get to the next level that you want to get to, right if you're hiding things from your spouse, because you made a mistake, you know, talk to him about it. If you're thinking about doing something investing, talk to your spouse about it.
The best way to make more money and have more money is to talk about money, okay? It's like when people say, Oh, you shouldn't talk about money. And you know, that's BS, you should always be talking about money, especially with your spouse and your children.
I always recommend is like, going on money day, at least once a month, preferably once a week, you know, stay off your phone, talk to your wife, you know, the whole top, the whole dinner doesn't have to be about your money situation, just be a small part of it.
Don't be afraid to do that. Because when you both get on the same page, it becomes incredibly powerful. So schedule your money date, and talk to your spouse about money.

This is super important. Because as you're building these accounts, you're building this lifestyle, you're building your money machine, you're getting more velocity in your life. But you also have to have fun. And having fun is one of the best parts.
When you set the fun account, and you're putting money in there, you know, this money is gonna go to something fun.
That's why we came to that then the velocity money machine because it just it bring it should bring you a good feeling to look at that accountant like, oh, that's the account, we're going to do this in and you know, your automation is going to you've got your amount going into there.
So if you're listening, if you haven't set up a fun account, set up a fun account, get it going, set up the automation, build it and then talk to your spouse or your kids about something amazing and fun you want to do, plan it and then execute and go on the trip.

Can you handle $1,000 emergency expenses?
Unfortunately, a lot of people can't. According to CNBC, they did a story recently that 56% of Americans cannot handle $1,000 emergency expense after use a credit card or some go into debt in some way to handle something that pops up.
It's so important to have the Quick Access account that we talked about and velocity, you have to have something that takes the pressure off, and you might listen to this and be like, Man, Paul $1,000 is a lot of money. Okay? Well, let's start small, like I talked about all the time, get a $100 Emergency count, and then add $1 a day in your automation or, you know, $10 a month, $20 month, whatever you can do.
It will cut down on a lot of stress, because we're gonna have emergencies happen all the freaking time, right, you're always gonna need new tires, some random things gonna need to be replaced, you're gonna have to fix something at the house, you know, the garbage disposals gonna break, and it's like you, you're gonna have these things pop up.You have to start so we talked about getting the account set up to build it. Okay, so you set up your Quick Access account, create the automation, but just have that, that, that sense of calmness, that like hey, if something bad happens, we're good.
Find that number, the number that makes you feel better that helps you sleep at night and get your account built up to that number.

This is something I really believe in: that anybody can become a millionaire. It just comes down to your age and the time that you need to accomplish it. Basically, it's math.
We're just gonna use the S&P 500 as the benchmark. Average annual return is normally 10%. Sometimes it's actually higher, depending on them, but we're gonna use 10, because it's a nice round number. And I guess the market can be up, marking me down. But over time, you're gonna see that the average annual return is, we're gonna say 10%.
Setting up the automation, not selling when the market goes down, buying when the market goes down, and just keep reinvesting your dividends and just keep the machine rolling.
You just want to keep building philosophy and building your machine.

It’s not your fault you aren’t taught these things about money. Nobody taught me about it. I learned it the hard way and I'm so thankful that I did. I learned it in the real world.
If you don’t know anything yet, start talking to people who are talking about it. Educate yourself and surround yourself with people who have the right money mindset.
Start learning now, you know, but the biggest thing you can do is learn for you and your family. Teach your kids and the people around you.
It's just going to change the game for you. And the next generations, you get to be the one that breaks the financial cycle.
Like that rising tide lifts all ships just keep pushing the tide up, keep going.

Do you sit down with your spouse and talk about money?
That’s where the Money Date comes in. A money date is when you and your spouse talk about where you're at financially and where you want to be. You talk about different money goals and what you're thinking about doing. This is important because money is a big source of stress in relationships.
By talking about money, you can communicate better and avoid money problems in the future. A money date can help you and your spouse feel more connected and on the same page financially. It's a good idea to have a money date regularly, maybe once a month or so. This way, you can stay up-to-date on each other's financial situation and goals.

One of the most common things I often hear from people talking about money and investing is, "I wish I would have begun 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 30 years ago…”,
Whatever it is, it doesn't matter.
Because you didn't.
If I could go back and give my younger self some advice about money and investing, I would tell him to start now. It doesn't matter how old you are, it's never too late to start saving and investing for your future.
The sooner you start, the more time your money has to grow.
Investing is one of the best ways to secure your financial future and build long-term wealth. When you invest, you're essentially putting your money into something that has the potential to grow over time. The earlier you start investing, the more time your money has to compound and grow into a larger amount.

For those of you who are looking to save money on your next trip, here’s a quick tip for you.
One great way to save money on travel is to take advantage of travel hacking. Travel hacking involves using credit card points and airline miles to book free or discounted travel.
To get started, sign up for a credit card that offers travel rewards. Many cards offer travel bonuses, such as free hotel stays or flight discounts. When used wisely, travel hacking can help you save hundreds or even thousands of dollars on your next trip.
So if you're looking to slash your travel costs, give this hack a try and thank me later!

You can change your mindset to make room for more money in life. You should never be ashamed or embarrassed about wanting financial success, as it's a natural ambition that we all share!
In this episode, I talk about why so many people are deprived of their future hopes because they don't find ways to make more. And that's the reason why people don't have extra money, because they don't find ways to do it. When we surround ourselves with individuals who are accomplishing big things, we can't help but want to do bigger things as well. And it also applies to your finances, who you are, and who you associate with; you associate with a group of individuals that lack desire and aspiration.
If you're around with people that are hungry and driven. And then you start asking them how they're doing it, and you're like, "Well, I did this and this."

Just because we're talking about finances doesn't mean you should be restrictive with your spending.
In fact, in this episode, I explain that there's an entire account dedicated just for those times when it feels right to treat oneself! So what am I talking about? A "fun" or enjoyment-focused account!
This account is specifically for expenditures that make you happy and bring you joy. Of course, this will look different for everyone, but some examples could include travel, dining out, going to the movies, or taking fun classes.
The key is to be thoughtful about your spending in this account and to make sure the money is truly going towards things that make you happy. So if you've been feeling a bit restricted in your spending lately, remember that it's ok to splurge on yourself every once in a while - you deserve it!

The majority of Americans can't cover $1,000 emergency expenses with savings and that really terrifies me coming from a financial background.
In this episode, I want to change your mindset on how to do things better where we can make small changes –Like getting a Health Savings Account or a Quick Access Account that you can use for emergencies.

Why automate your investing? Automation is important because when you're starting to invest, the mind doesn't want to do it.
In this episode, l explain that people tend to forget to move money every month–especially when life gets busy. But technology makes this process easy with simple automations that can be set up in minutes instead of hours which means more time for other things like spending on vacations! Set an automation as soon as possible (that's what I always recommend!)
