ApocaPodcast (SciFi D&D style TTRPG): Recent Episodes

The ABC GM

ApocaPodcast is an actual play, role-playing game podcast that follows the lives of three survivors in the imaginary Post-Apocalyptic SciFi world of Toprak. Most of what you’re going to hear will be live improvised role playing.

We will be using the ABC role-playing game engine. ApocaPodcast aims to be a “family friendly” podcast by avoiding foul language and adult themes. However, there will be plenty of “fantasy violence” from fighting fantastical beasts that might tear someone to pieces, to the well-placed exploding head shot against a humanoid creature.

To maintain the highest quality content possible I will be taking a short break from podcasting to get my personal affairs in order. Work on the ABC game engine and alpha testing will continue in the background, but podcast episodes will be delayed by 3-6 months. Thank you for understanding. It's summer. Go outside and enjoy the weather! Have a blessed day. - The ABC Gamemaster

Last episode I spoke with my player Justin about his character concept, a mutant humanoid serpent. However, this character still needed a name! In this episode we review name suggestions from Reddit. I'm keen on Snakey McSnakeFace myself.

Join Erik and Jeremy as they design a continent map of Kita Kita based on previous Lord Drops. Packed full of teaser content, we review a multitude of biomes, terrains, and creatures - from the deadly insects of the Northwest, to the giant Chickaphants of the East, and everything in between.

In the adventure, Jeremy will be playing a character named Relic, a man from the past who is having difficulty adjusting to the future. As Erik's de facto expert on all things ancient, Jeremy has spearheaded the idea of making a map for their game based on previous Lord Drops. To make the map have been using the Azgaar Fantasy Map Generator.

ApocaPodcast is an actual play, role-playing game podcast that follows the lives of three survivors in the imaginary post-apocalyptic world of Toprak. I have designed a world from scratch for both you, the listeners, and the players to explore. The past is what you or I would call futuristic or cyberpunk, and the present is a post-apocalyptic world filled with weird creatures and anarchy. I tried my best to smash the bunch of different post-apocalyptic and sci-fi genres together on a single continent with four or five different regions to explore, ranging from Mad Max to zombie apocalypse to sentient killer robots.

Both Apocapodcast and the ABC game engine are works in progress. This episode kicks off a series of "behind the scenes" podcasts known as “Lore Drops” in preparation for the official start of the adventure.
