As we mark another woman’s day in the country – we’re celebrating all the powerful remodels who are speaking their minds, standing up for equality and protecting others in the process.
The history books are riddled with examples of exemplary females refusing to accept the status quo but the advent of social media is making it easier for us to find out about these amazing women.
This women's Day , we're reflecting on the lives of inspiring women who put everything on the line , to lead the charge in the fight for equal rights...
It was on this day 66 years ago that Lilian Ngoyi, Sophie DeBruyn, Rahima Moosa and Helen Joseph led 20 000 women in a march to the Union Buildings in protest of the oppressive Pass Laws.
Their names are inscribed in the history books alongside other bold and brave women who were instrumental in changing the face of the world's political landscape.
And from the outside at least , they appeared fearless..
We're taking stock of the talented women who've inspired us with their voices, creativity , grit and grace this Women's day.
It's a public holiday in south Africa. The day has been set aside to remember the almost 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in protest of the oppressive Pass Laws exactly 66 years ago..
The brazen multi-racial march to the seat of the apartheid government was lead by Lilian Ngoyi, Sophie DeBruyn, Rahima Moosa and Helen Joseph.
in the 66 years that have followed , many other women have emerged as pioneers, trailblazers and remodels…in countless industries - including sport and music.
many powerful women including - US singer Beyoncé - are warning we need to stop buying into the myth that the world has achieved gender equality.
The disparity is particularly evident when it comes to the sports industry.
Here at HotHouse, we’re shining the floodlight on leading women, the impact they have on society and the promises government makes to level the playing field.
When it comes to music, women have played a pivotal role in raising awareness around issues of inequality and have given us countless examples of what can happen , when music as a medium is used to empower..
Many South Africans are enjoying a public holiday today – as the country remembers the almost 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in protest of the oppressive Pass Laws exactly 66 years ago..
The brazen multi-racial march to the seat of the apartheid government was lead by Lilian Ngoyi, Sophie DeBruyn, Rahima Moosa and Helen Joseph.
in the 66 years that have followed , many other women have emerged as pioneers, trailblazers and rolemodels…
So as we mark Women’s Day, we thought it appropriate to also celebrate phenomenal women in the arts over the decades..
As we acknowledge and celebrate all the the things the women in our lives have achieved, we also remember those who came before us and forged the path for the rights we have today.
There are many such trailblazers among us- and they're doing wonderful work when it comes to body positivity and health.
In a world where women are subjected to unrealistic standards, we celebrate the females who are living by example while building strength in every possible way.
On Women’s day, we celebrate and remember all the brave women in politics, sport, business, education… women who fought for equal rights… and the women who continue to do so.
But there’s something some might feel is a little trivial…. what women wear.
Women are being recognized around the world for our immense contributions in business, our entrepreneurial spirit, and our invaluable role in keeping human species alive.
Today is Woman’s Day , and here at Hot1027 we’re celebrating how far the country has come in recognizing the crucial role we as females play in everyday life.
We’re also taking more control when it comes to our money…
