GSMC Classics: The Campbell Playhouse

Airing from 1938 – 1941, first in an hour and then in a 30 minute format, The Campbell Playhouse was a live radio drama directed by and starring Orson Welles. The program aired on CBS radio and was produced by Welles and John Houseman. The program offered adaptations of classic plays and novels and popular films of the time.

When Welles left at the end of the second season, The Campbell Playhouse changed format as a 30-minute weekly series that ran for one season (1940–41).
