ANSER is a non-profit founded in 1958 as a public service research institute, shares Jessica Albosta, company COO. With a focus on their employees’ careers, not their contracts, many staff members have been with ANSER for decades. Jessica recommends you spend time with a recruiter when they contact you, and be data-oriented on your resume.
“When an opportunity opens up in another area, my directors are the first ones to jump in and say, ‘Hey, I've got someone who's looking for a new challenge. I think there'd be a great fit over in your space,’ or ‘I have someone who's kind of getting tired of the job they're doing. Does anyone have an opportunity that this person can move into?’ And so at the end of the day, we have sort of one metric that we're trying to meet as success of a company. And everyone works towards that. My CEO always uses the phrase, ‘A rising tide lifts all ships.’ And we definitely live that every single day.”

Rapid Cycle Solutions provides consulting advice to their agency clients on data analytics and cloud computing, shares company founder and owner, Bill Engel. That means soft skills such as good communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork are critical, beyond technical skills. Bill’s Pro Interview Tip: He’s going to ask how you stay abreast of current technologies. And he’ll fully fund your healthcare.
“Don't forget, it's a two-way conversation. I'm interviewing you, you're interviewing me. So come with some questions. Learn a little bit about the company maybe before you go. Ask me how are we doing financially. Ask me about the technologies we're investing in. But remember, you're interviewing us as much as we're interviewing you. And so, be okay with asking questions.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/rapid-cycle-solutions-data-analytics-cloud-consulting-podcast/

RTI Consulting (Results-Teamwork-Integrity), supports the Intelligence Community. Talent Acquisition Manager Claudia Trail highlights the company’s culture of treating people the way they would like to be treated…or better. Claudia’s hot tip: Don’t apply for a job based on the job title; read the requirements!
“A lot of companies say we take care of our people, and that's something that you can't quantify till you come on board. But just my own personal experiences in watching the owners treating employees, they walk the walk and talk the talk. They truly do put people first. You're not a number at RTI, and you're not a butt in a seat. Some companies just hire people to get them in there and get the revenue. We want the right people in the right positions, because if they don't succeed, we don't succeed. It's a team. I can't ask people to come join our team if I don't believe in our team.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/rti-consulting-treating-people-right-podcast/

“It's one of the best ways to get that Full Scope. There's only a handful of ways that you can do that. One is going directly to a government agency. Another one is going through a contractor like ours to get that Full Scope upgraded. And I always tell people this, once you have your Full Scope, hang on to it, because it is a pain to try to get that reinstated. So once you get it, just hold on to it.”

The Facilities Services Directorate (FSD) of the Washington Headquarters Services provides facilities management support for the Pentagon and associated buildings in the National Capital Region. Chief of Staff Kim Crawford shares that their hiring needs are for both professional and trades positions, with a focus on a 60-day time-to-hire. FSD has direct-hiring authority for technical and critical-fill positions, plus a federal resume is not required.
“Our positions are on a 60-day time-to-hire timeframe. Basically cradle to grave, from the time the job goes on the streets to the time that they bring that person through the door for onboarding, is a 60-day period. So that's our target. That's our focus. Sometimes it depends on if that clearance paperwork is taking some time with regard to adjudication. That could extend the process. But typically, we want to target a 60-day hiring model.”

Learn what surge support can mean for your security clearance, the importance of being responsive when interviewing, and how long-term professional relationships can help your cleared career.
“In order to hold somebody's clearance, who has a higher clearance than what is necessary for the contract that you're hiring them on, they have to become what is called surge support on a higher level contract, which means that if there is something going on and the other contract needs to call them up to provide support for various reasons, then the person has to be okay with providing that surge support in order to be able to hold the higher level clearance.”

Avian supports NAVAIR programs in the Pax River area of Southern Maryland, among other opportunities. Learn about Coffee with Kevin, Jump Balls, and the importance of transparency with your recruiter.
“We always want to help people find the right roles. I always suggest that when people are engaging with their recruiter or their talent acquisition specialists, they want to be honest and transparent about their needs and requirements. It may feel really tempting to say, 'Oh yeah, of course I'd be willing to do that' and throw that wide net out there and see what comes in. But ultimately, you want to make sure that your recruiter knows exactly, 'These are my lines in the sand. I will not accept these types of positions.' Mission Edge Technologies is a cybersecurity company that has a four-pronged plan for growth, shares CEO Wayne Schmidt. Wayne focuses on the importance of work-life balance and why that’s important to him, the Mission Edge hiring process, why it’s OK to say “I don’t know” in an interview, and the meaning of the company’s #BringTheEdge hashtag.
“Most, if not all, of the employees at Mission Edge have children that are still in the daycare to grade school phase. My kids are in eighth grade and a senior in high school. And so I have a lot of things outside of work where I want to get to sports matches, plays, and activities that they have. So we understand that people have life outside of work, and they need time to go do those things. And it's important because I think that if you have employees that feel supported by the company -- that they can go and do those things -- then they're better at their job and they're happier there.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/mission-edge-technologies-bring-the-edge-cybersecurity-podcast/

“Be someone that people want to work with,” shares Katie Gaither, recruiting director at Edgewater Technical Associates. Edgewater supports DOE nuclear work at sites throughout the U.S., offering relocation or per diem options to test the waters of your new location. In addition, transferring your security clearance from DOD to DOE is a straightforward process.
“The DOD Secret is equivalent to an L and the DOD's Top Secret is equivalent to a Q. The reciprocity or conversion, if you have an active clearance going to the same level can occur in as little as a matter of weeks, and maybe another month or two to go up a level. If you have an inactive DOD clearance, it's most likely a similar timeframe as obtaining a clearance for the first time. Right now it's taking about an average of three to six months to get an L and about six to 12 months to get a Q.”

If you’re serving in the military and you’re notified of an issue with your security clearance, who do you turn to for help? The answer may surprise you. Plus, find out what you need to know before you separate and more in this special episode on security clearance issues when you’re serving in the military, featuring Tony Kuhn, Managing Partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC.
“In the military, if you lose your security clearance, you lose your career. Is this something that you want to self-report? If it's too late, and they've already presented you with the information, if you disclose more information in an attempt to mitigate the concerns, is it going to cost you your military career? Whereas a civilian might just walk away from their security clearance and say, I really don't want to go through this, I don't need this clearance, and if I give them more details it's going to implicate me in more crimes and I'm going to go to jail. So I'm just gonna go get a different job.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/security-clearance-issues-when-you-are-in-the-military-podcast/

For Bob Heriford, CEO of Innovative Solutions, considering new employees is always about a will or a skill. Integrity, honesty and loyalty cannot be taught, but technical skills can. Innovative Solutions offers flexible shorter-term opportunities in addition to longer-term contracts.
“It’s all about their attitude. It's all about how they build relationships. For me personally, I could really care less about your technical skills. Unless you're coming to us with say a Fortinet, NSE level 6, 7 or 8. Then, yeah, I'm wild about your skills. But it's all about, are you trainable? Or do you come with the skill set? Straightforward, actionable uses of artificial intelligence for your cleared job search. This special Bonus Episode of our podcast shares how to use artificial intelligence to save time, improve your communication skills, and broaden your knowledge, to improve your cleared job search.
“It is still recommended that you tailor your resume for every single role you apply for. If you're applying for 30, that's a lot of time. You can revise your resume yourself for all 30 roles. But why would you need to do that when you can simply use a tool like this? Do your due diligence, go back, read through, revise, and send off. You're still doing the same thing that you would -- tailoring your resume -- you're simply using a reliable tool to do it instead.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/use-artificial-intelligence-for-your-cleared-job-search-podcast/

“If we're reaching out to set up an interview with you remember you were chosen. Whatever your application said, whatever conversation you had with a recruiter, we chose to take our time to speak with you too. So be confident that the manager wants to fill their position, they hope you're that person. Do what you can to show that you can be that person. Shae Gee is a 30-year Air Force veteran and Chief People Officer for a growing small business, Paragon Cyber Solutions. Hear her first two questions in an interview and why she asks them, plus Shae’s perspective after having recently transitioned from the military to the civilian sector.
“Sometimes we discount what we actually did in the military. If you're doing maintenance, yes, you're a leader. Yes, you're dealing with people. If you're going for a specific route on People Operations, you may need to highlight the people, the leadership piece, more so than the maintenance piece. Because some civilians won't understand how that pertains to you wanting to do HR, for instance. I think we discredit ourselves a lot when people don't understand our resumes. And so I highly encourage folks to get that help, because we all have to learn from each other and grow.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/paragon-cyber-solutions-cleared-cyber-roles-podcast/
Senior Program Manager Chad Clary leads the V2X C5I portfolio. He highlights the company's focus on soft skills development, diversity in the workplace, their success with the SkillBridge program, plus what to ask if you don’t get the role you applied for.
“For those that don't quite make the cut, that doesn't necessarily mean that they're not going to be a fit for a future role. So, I do tell people that if you don't get hired, always ask the person who interviewed you for constructive feedback. A lot of us are scared to do that. We don't want to hear what we do wrong, because we just don't like to hear it. But that's going to stunt your growth. If you know what you did wrong in an interview, or what gaps you need filled, hearing that information is going to make you a better person. And make you a better-qualified candidate for the next time you're up.”

ITIC hires cleared IT professionals for the Northern Virginia intelligence community. Staffing Manager Eric Voelkel shares they offer six weeks PTO right out of the gate, as well as the importance of being able to speak to what you still need to learn, or don’t know, when interviewing.
“I just don't want to be able to hear all the things that you've accomplished. I want to hear someone speak about the areas that they need to actually work on. If someone can come to the table with that, I know there's a level of self-awareness and confidence, because confidence is knowing what you can do, what you can't, and where you want to go. Having that in their pocket with them that I can't see on a resume, that's what's going to pique my interest that much more, because competition is tight.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/itic-hiring-it-needs-for-the-ic-podcast/

At ATS you can #owntheseat, not just fill it, shares Dorion Baker, Vice President of Talent Acquisition. ATS features an employee stock ownership plan, plus they’ve been named a Washington Post Top Workplace winner for each of the past 10 years. Sixty percent of their new hires come through existing employee referrals.
“We have hired a lot of people, but 60% of those people are the result of our employee referral program. Sixty percent, which if you do your own research, you'll see industry average is somewhere around 20 to 40%. And if you're doing 40%, you're doing pretty well. But we're really proud to say here at ATS that 60% of our hires are the result of employee referrals. Says a lot about our people, number one. It says a lot about the fact that our employees want people to come to work here with them.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/ats-do-not-just-fill-the-seat-own-the-seat-podcast/
Tell a potential employer why you’re the best candidate and advocate for yourself, shares Shannon Morgan, Ball Aerospace RF Engineering Senior Manager. Flexibility and adaptability are the keys to success at Ball, where the fast-paced environment is very different from a typical defense contractor.
“Make sure that you know your worth. Make sure you know what you're bringing to the table. And don't be afraid to tell a potential employer about it. The interview process is for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. In a situation where we probably have a number of different candidates, don't be afraid to tell us why you're the top candidate. It’s really important to advocate for yourself, because no one's going to do it as well as you can.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/ball-aerospace-advocate-for-yourself-and-ready-to-adapt-podcast/
How severely does filing for bankruptcy or using illegal drugs impact your ability to hold a security clearance? Is the government looking to catch you in a mistake and end your cleared career? Find out the reality behind common security clearance misconceptions in this special episode featuring Tony Kuhn, Managing Partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC.
“Don't just call your security officer and say, ‘Hey, I smoked a joint this weekend.’ That's probably going to result in you having your clearance stripped. You want to be careful about it, you want to do a written response. If you do a written response, you get to control the narrative. And you get to provide the facts that you want to provide, and do what we call, providing the facts in the light most favorable to you.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/security-clearance-misconceptions-podcast/
Learn the two most important soft skills you can demonstrate at a Cleared Job Fair, plus what cleared candidates need to know about job fairs that they may not realize. All from Ashley Testa, Director in the Government and Public Sector at BDO.
“When we create resumes, one change that we can all make is to focus on those quantifiable achievements, and those specific contributions in your work experience. So instead of just merely listing job responsibilities and duties, you want to highlight the most measurable outcomes and the best accomplishments that showcase the impact that you've made in your previous roles. You want to use those specific numbers, percentages, or even metrics to demonstrate your achievements.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/bdo-soft-skills-you-demonstrate-at-a-cleared-job-fair-podcast/

These cleared positions are at sites across the country, with 60% of their openings being hybrid or remote opportunities.
“There's technology out there that has been around for a long time, but candidates don't always take full advantage of that technology. Our careers website, along with many job boards, offer you the opportunity to set up search agents. As busy professionals, many people don't have the time to continuously look at websites. Director of Staffing, Sebastian Lambert recommends you focus on building relationships in your career and job search, and that you beat the ATS by being qualified for the job you’re applying for.

As an Alaska Native Corporation, every Chenega MIOS employee is considered an extension of the village, shares Duane Butler, Talent Acquisition Team Lead. “Everybody is better when you like what you do,” is a simple statement, but a goal for Duane’s recruiters as they help candidates on their career journeys. And if you’re in an active job search and the phone rings…pick it up!
“Finding a job is a job. You can't just apply for two jobs, then go back to playing Call of Duty. It does not work like that. You have to put the effort in to make sure that your resume is right. This is an opportunity for somebody to sit down and say, ‘What do I really want to do?’ Here's your chance. If you've got the skill set to do it, then do it. No one's gonna make you. No one's telling you to. You have to have that internal drive. People who thrive at BAE Systems run toward a fire when they see it, they don’t run away, shares David Reynolds, VP in the company’s Intelligence & Security sector. The company focuses on hiring for a career versus a job, as they believe retaining top cleared talent begins before that individual starts their first day of work. David’s advice to gain invaluable experience is to find out what’s broken in your company and volunteer to help fix it.
“Retaining top talent really starts even before they walk in the door. And so even in interviews with candidates, I think it's important to stress not just what the job is that you're hiring for, but what a career pathway can look like. We've done a lot of work internally on finding those career pathways and doing interviews to understand, a company president, how did they get there? What were the six jobs they had before that? Or for a Senior Solutions Architect, what were the critical experiences they had? And how can we create a career pathway to ensure that over the next 10, 15, 20 years, we're ensuring the top talent gets those experiences, so that they’re positioned to be successful and that we're positioned to be successful?”

With a focus on treating people differently and a culture of doing what needs to be done, the company has recently grown to over 1k employees, shares Kearstin McGinnis, Vice President of Employment.
“Respond to those emails or respond to those phone calls, even if it's just a ‘Hey, thanks for reaching out, but we're not interested.’ I always say, no conversation is a bad conversation. A conversation could lead to other things down the road. If you're not interested now, but there might be something in a year or two years that might spark an interest.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/teksynap-innovation-in-the-hiring-process-and-benefits-podcast/

“If you're posting something on social media that you think after the wine wears off you're going to regret it, you should probably delete it before you post it. Or you're going to answer for it. You can come back and delete it if you want to, but the internet is forever.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/tiktok-social-media-and-your-security-clearance-podcast/
Hear how Cohere Technology Group founder and CEO, Dan Haug values problem solving skills when making hiring decisions – he does not chase individual technology knowledge. Most of Cohere’s work is in the National Capitol Region, but Dan is an advocate for remote work when it’s feasible, and seeks to move the company to even more solutioning work for the agencies they support.
“I look for the engineers who know how to problem solve, and are particularly interested in the problem that is being faced. You can pick up a book and read up on Angular, any kind of technology. But tell me some of the hard problems you faced. Show me your innovation. Show me where you’ve faced some really hard problems. And what would you do if a customer came up to you and asked about a particular problem? How would you coach them on that? Those are the things that drive me and I pay a lot of attention to those. I don't chase the individual technology.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/cohere-problem-solving-trumps-individual-technologies-podcast/

SixGen is focused on cyber security for the intel community in the Fort Meade and Dulles corridors. Nearly 90% of their employees are veterans, and the company prides itself on an employee-first focus.
“Because SixGen is filled with patriots, everybody wants to do their part to make the nation more secure, to fight against its adversaries. But they want to do so doing what we call ‘spicy work’. That's what we know motivates our workforce. They want to know they're gonna do something that very few folks get to do. Sandia is about more than just nuclear non-proliferation, and has a very accepting organizational culture. Plus a hot resume tip about considering the first person who sees your cleared resume.
“He just wanted a tiny bit more money. So he and I worked together and came up with a game plan: Alright, tell me why you are the most badass person on the planet that does this position. And I'm gonna make sure that the company understands that too. SOSi is a mid-size government contractor with four business units and robust OCONUS cleared opportunities, shares Kristen DeJohn, Director of Talent Acquisition. There really is a person named Sosi, and she founded this still family-owned company in 1989. SOSi’s cleared hiring needs are diverse and go well beyond the language-related positions where they began and still thrive today.
“Remember that you're interviewing the company as well. This is a job that you're seeking, for whatever your reasons are. Make sure that you're prepared with questions that are important to you to learn more about the environment, about the culture, about the people on the program. And I always say interviewing is a lot like dating. Don't settle! So make sure that you're coming prepared with what's important to you. TekMasters has a focus on longer-term stable programs in the intelligence community in Northern Virginia and Maryland, shares John McLaine, Director of the Program Office. Every prospective employee meets with the program team and the agency team before they interview.
“We look for very stable programs. We don't go for the temporary ones or the bridge contracts. All of the programs that we have, that we align ourselves with, we want to make sure that if we place someone they have a good stable home. We want to take that worry away from them so they can focus on the mission at hand instead of worrying, “Where am I gonna go next?”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/tekmasters-focuses-on-stable-programs-in-the-ic-podcast/
LLNL hiring needs, while focused on scientists and engineers, are quite broad as the Lab is a self-contained city with nearly 9k employees. Frank Trigueros, Talent Acquisition Group Leader, talks why cleared professionals should never burn bridges, SkillBridge opportunities, internships, and more.
“You can have a multi-dimensional career at the laboratory. You may come in and start doing one thing, then after a couple of years there could be another project that could be something completely different, where you're still leveraging maybe a component of your skills. Or you've learned things and drawn knowledge through your time at the lab that you can pivot and leverage it in another area. That's what's great. If you’re looking for a different type of cleared professional experience, yet still want to support the mission, this could be it. With over 1,600 employees, the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is probably bigger than you realize, and their needs are broad-based and extend beyond Happy Valley. Learn from Deputy Director Meghan Flannery Hayes how you might fit in.
“It's very collaborative. It's about a lot of teams -- small teams -- and then building new and different teams. You're not always on the same team. But we do a lot of cross collaboration across our four offices, because we find that innovation happens at those interfaces. When you put a material scientist in the same room as someone who specializes in antennas, signals processing, suddenly you're printing antennas with graphene on the sides of things, right? Suddenly, you're doing new kinds of interesting things. And really then solving problems and solving gaps.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/applied-research-laboratory-at-penn-state-podcast/
Did you know your security clearance is already being Continuously Vetted by DCSA? Ryan Dennis, the Deputy Assistant Director of Continuous Vetting shares the information you need to know to better understand the program and its impact on your security clearance.
“Security is always too much. Until it's not enough. I understand the security clearance process is not fun, but it's important. And if we think about it in context of what happened at the Washington Navy Yard and other events, which have impacted people, property, information and missions, self-reporting and continuous vetting provide the best opportunity for early intervention.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/security-clearance-continuous-vetting-dcsa-podcast/
As an ambassador for the ManTech brand, Senior Technical Recruiter Martha Schneegans is focused on providing value for both parties, and she takes a long-term view of her relationship with you. Service members, Martha is ready to talk to you now. “Let’s start talking early,” well ahead of your terminal leave date. Listen for the best example we’ve heard about why your cleared resume should mirror the terminology you find on the job posting.
“Listen, you have to write your resume to make sure that it’s aligned with the job posting. The language on the job description is the same language you have to use. We're not going to read your mind. We're not going to assume, “He did that, therefore he knows how to do A, B, and C.” If the job description has the words, tomato, ballerina, and cake decorator, make sure you include those on your resume.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/mantech-relationships-and-job-posting-terms-on-resume-podcast/

“Look into the company. Look at what they're doing. Look up your interviewers. See if there's any common threads. We work in a small industry. It's big, but it's small. “Post COVID, people have a new appreciation for what is possible in terms of flexibility. We had to adapt, so people come from a different perspective. Now they're like, ‘I know this is possible. What can you give to me, because I've seen this happen?’ So, employers also now have to adjust and be ready for that reasonable expectation from people.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/one-year-of-podcasting-and-accenture-federal-services-podcast/

“We have a Family First Program that focuses on when projects come to an end. These people that are going to be displaced are the most important people to help them on their next opportunity. We put an emphasis on putting them first, so that if they applied to roles, or if there are openings within the company that are a fit, we want to make sure that they get viewed and talked to before any external candidates.”

And then, what are they thinking about for the next part of their career? I really like to hear what makes people passionate, because that also helps us with our matchmaking process. This bonus episode of our show shines light on employment scams in the cleared community. Our guests Kirsten Renner with Accenture Federal Services, and Kris Rides with Tiro Security and Via Resource, talk about employment-related scams and ways to avoid them.
“They would take one of our real postings, real job titles, real job descriptions, congratulate the person, it had our company logo. It wasn't us. People did their diligence, thank goodness. And they were reaching out to the regular recruiting address at our organization. And that brought to light that this was ongoing.”
“Just listen to yourself. It doesn't matter how exciting the job is or how badly you actually want that job. If you've been laid off, that changes the pressures. Listen to your gut. Something's telling you that it’s off, then hold back. Wait. The two security clearance guidelines related to foreign influence and preference are reviewed in this special episode featuring Tony Kuhn, Managing Partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC. Tony goes into detail with recommendations on how to avoid missteps, the recent foreign travel reporting requirements for government contractors, and more.
“You don't ever want to travel through the United States on a foreign passport. This is something that confuses even department counsel occasionally and some adjudicators occasionally. The issue is whether you use that passport to travel to the United States. If you use a foreign passport to travel into the United States, and you own or possess a US passport, you're showing preference for that foreign country over the United States. And that's going to be very difficult to overcome or to mitigate.”

“We have such a plethora of programs that you can come in at an entry level position, and once you work your way up, if that specific program doesn't have a place to promote you into, you can be promoted into another program. So you can move to another project and still be promoted. So I really like the fact that they concentrate and hone in on really doing what's best for our employees, trying to keep them happy and move them up through their career.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/govcio-hybrid-remote-jobs-and-meat-and-potatoes-resumes/

Tom Smith is the COO at JCTM, an SDVO small business. Tom sits in on every interview for every position at the company, and focuses on making sure the fit is right from both sides of the fence. Learn more about their culture, cleared hiring needs and this veteran’s tips for those who have yet to transition out of the military.
“I believe a company should strive to be ultra selective in the individuals that they choose to represent them, especially out at a client site. So yes, we want to be picky of the candidates that we hire. Flipside, I'd like to see the candidates be picky of the companies that they're choosing to align themselves to. So just as much as we are interviewing them, we ask them for an introduction. I turn around and give them an introduction of who we are, largely centered around our culture, because I want them evaluating those too. Is it going to be the right fit for them?”

DJ Brown is the President and Co-Founder of DataHaven Solutions, a Maryland-based IT firm that is about more than “butts in seats.” They have hybrid remote positions available, actually ask for feedback in their interviews, and believe that you can build a career and progress both professionally and financially with the same company.
“We're building this company for people. We want to build a company that goes against the stereotype that you need to switch jobs, or change positions to make any more money or to grow with your career. We want to do away with the concept that as a contractor you're required to, or have to, switch companies every three years -- that's the only way to move forward with your career. I don't believe that. I believe that once you obtain talent, you need to retain talent. And you do that by helping people push their careers in the direction they want to go. It's our job as their employer to support their career goals.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/datahaven-solutions-hybrid-remote-and-interview-feedback/
Dee Brown is the Talent Acquisition Lead with CNA, a non-profit research group in Northern Virginia. They hire for many research-related positions including Data Analysts, Research Analysts and Data Scientists. CNA can clear all their roles, many of which are hybrid remote. Learn who thrives at CNA and follow Dee’s advice on building accomplishment statements on your resume using her A+B=C formula.
“CNA is really great when it comes to our compensation. We think equality, but we also think equity in terms of pay. Inflation happens. If we bring in somebody new that's doing the same role as somebody that has been here for five years, we look at the market, here's what our equity is. How do we make sure that these people that are similar in background, as far as education/experience, are getting paid the same way? If we bring that new person in higher, then that means we need to adjust our current employees to match that.”

Recorded live at a recent Cleared Job Fair, this recruiter roundtable discussion features Robin Wallace with IBM, Ray Ryan with General Dynamics Electric Boat, and Sarah Knapp with TechFlow. Moderated by veteran and former recruiter, Bob Wheeler, the panel talks about the best way to follow-up with recruiters, provides some interesting resume tips, whether cover letters matter, and more.
“You see it every day, the person that just applied for 15 jobs but qualifies for two. All you're doing is wasting time. As an applicant, really if you're not hitting that required field, don't bother applying for it. Make sure that you hit those requirements. Most of the time you want a lot of those preferreds, and make sure that it's highlighted on your resume.”

We work on things that really matter, like keeping our soldiers safe out in the battlefield, and working on mission critical things that really matter for the security of our country.”Find show notes and additional links at: https://clearedjobs.net/northrop-grumman-mission-systems-software-and-engineering-needs/

It's justa moment to reflect and take care of each other. We try to live it every day, enable diversity and equality across the company. We're not stats, we're not numbers. Meg Duba is a Talent Acquisition professional with Idaho National Laboratory. Learn more about the Lab, their culture, how they can build a career path for you, and how they take care of their own. Meg thinks it’s easy to convince cleared professionals to move to Idaho Falls. Find out how.
“When I started with the lab four years ago, my relocation package was $60,000. And that's six zero, not one, six. Since then, they somehow decided that $60,000 just wasn't enough money to relocate a person. So they have since taken the cap off of the relocation package. So whatever it costs is simply what it costs.”

If you’re a recruiter, Bill may want to hire you.
“There's something about talking about the number of end users you are supporting or the number of servers you are responsible for, or the size of the budget that you may have. And that really communicates to the hiring manager that you didn't just show up and not get fired. But you really knew what was going on in your job.”
