In this episode, we’re letting AI do the pitching. We prompted it to generate B2B campaign ideas, then we’re reacting to them by breaking down what would work, what wouldn’t and how we’d make them stronger.

Cocktail: Fall Sangria

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay crafted this sangria to capture the essence of fall in every sip. Inspired by the season’s bounty, it combines the tart brightness of blood oranges with the jewel-like sweetness of pomegranate seeds. Rosemary adds a fragrant, earthy touch that perfectly complements the citrus, while a splash of orange and pomegranate liqueur gives it warmth and depth.

Ingredients:

1 cup water
Juice of 1 blood orange
2 torn rosemary sprigs
1/4 cup orange liqueur
2 tablespoons pomegranate liqueur
1–2 tablespoons superfine sugar (to taste)
1 sliced blood orange
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1 bottle chilled dry sparkling red wine
Ice
Directions:

Stir the water, blood orange juice, rosemary sprigs, orange liqueur, pomegranate liqueur, and sugar in a pitcher until combined.
Add the sliced blood orange and pomegranate seeds.
Refrigerate overnight to let the flavors infuse.
When ready to serve, add ice to the pitcher and stir in the sparkling red wine.
Serve chilled.

In B2B, your brand isn’t just a logo or a tagline, it’s the culture behind the company. From how your teams work together to how they show up for clients, culture shapes the story buyers believe and trust. In this episode, we’ll explore the link between culture and brand, why it’s a competitive advantage and how companies can intentionally build culture that drives growth.

Chit-Cha Toddy
The Chit-Cha Toddy was created by Shawn Chen, beverage director at RedFarm and principal bartender at Decoy in New York City. Chen drew inspiration from the traditional Chinese tea ceremony, aiming to honor tea and his cultural heritage. The drink features osmanthus oolong tea from Taiwan, prized for its delicate flavor and faint nuttiness. At Decoy, it’s often served in a Chinese gaiwan, though it can also be served in a hollowed-out mini pumpkin for a festive twist. The name “Chit-Cha” comes from the respectful way of serving tea in Chinese culture.

Ingredients:
9 oz. George Dickel rye whiskey
3 oz. Benedictine liqueur
6 oz. lemon juice, freshly squeezed
6 oz. ginger syrup
3 oz. blossom honey
32 oz. osmanthus oolong tea, hot-brewed
*
Garnish: 12 lemon half-wheels studded with cloves, mint leaves and cinnamon sugar

Directions:
Add all ingredients into a large hollowed-out pumpkin or a punch bowl, and stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
Divide into 12 hollowed-out mini pumpkins or punch cups.
Garnish each with a lemon half-wheel studded with cloves, a mint leaf and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar.
*Ginger syrup: Juice 4 ounces fresh peeled ginger root. Add 1 cup extra-fine sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Will keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

**Oolong tea: Steep 8 tsp osmanthus oolong tea with 32 ounces water for 3 to 5 minutes.

How to Deal With Burnout in Marketing

What if we told you that over 80% of marketers are dealing with burnout, and more than half feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or undervalued? In this episode, we’re talking about why creative fatigue is hitting so hard… and how to fight back.

The Tia Mia is a modern riff on the Mai Tai that swaps the classic dark rum float for mezcal espadín, giving it smoky depth alongside funky Jamaican rum. Created in 2010 by bartender Ivy Mix for Julie Reiner’s Hawaiian-inspired New York bar Lani Kai, the Tia Mia was Mix’s first cocktail to hit a menu. Though Lani Kai closed after two years, the drink lived on, later becoming a staple at Leyenda in Brooklyn and featured in Mix’s book Spirits of Latin America.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. mezcal espadĂn
  • 1 oz. Jamaican rum
  • 1/2 oz. orange curaçao
  • 1/2 oz. orgeat
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • Garnish: mint sprig, lime wheel and edible orchid (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
  2. Strain into a large rocks glass over crushed or pebbled ice.
  3. Garnish with lime wheel, mint sprig and orchid (optional).

Three Marketing Campaigns You Should Steal
We’re breaking down three real campaigns that drove results and how you can “steal” the strategies for yourself. You’ll walk away with practical, ready-to-use ideas you can plug into your own marketing.

Cocktail: Hello Sun
Aloe isn’t just for sunburns or houseplants; it’s also a surprisingly versatile cocktail ingredient. Bartenders love it for the softness, florality and aromatics it brings to a drink.

For the Hello Sun, Eden Laurin of The Violet Hour crafted her aloe liqueur by reducing aloe water and blending it with rhum agricole and honey, then paired it with mezcal, lime, cucumber and mint. The result is light, refreshing and the perfect cool-down on a hot day.

Ingredients:
3 fresh mint leaves
2 slices of cucumber
3/4 oz. lime juice, freshly squeezed
2 oz. Banhez mezcal
1 1/2 oz. aloe liqueur
Garnish: cucumber slices

Directions:
1. Add the cucumber, mint and lime juice into a shaker, and gently muddle to extract the flavors.
2. Add the mezcal and aloe liqueur, fill with ice and shake until well-chilled.
3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
4. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

Brandy Alexander

The Brandy Alexander is a creamy, decadent cocktail that gained popularity in the 1970s, particularly in upscale Manhattan bars. It’s a brandy-based variation of the original Alexander, a pre-Prohibition cocktail made with gin, crème de cacao and cream. The original is believed to have been created by bartender Troy Alexander at NYC’s Hotel Rector.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. cognac
  • 1 oz. dark creme de cacao
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • Garnish: grated nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Add cognac, dark creme de cacao and heavy cream into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or a coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

The Appletini was first crafted in the 1990s at Lola’s in West Hollywood, quickly becoming a pop culture staple (Scrubs and Sex and the City). While it sometimes gets written off as a “novelty” drink, its crisp flavor and iconic green hue have kept it relevant.

  • 1/4 oz. lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 oz. simple syrup

Hugo Spritz

A refreshing twist on the classic spritz, the Hugo Spritz originated in northern Italy in the early 2000s. Created as a lighter, more floral alternative to the Aperol Spritz, it blends elderflower liqueur, Prosecco, soda water and fresh mint. With its crisp, aromatic profile, the Hugo quickly became a summertime favorite across Europe, and now, a go-to for intern Megan.

Ingredients:

2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: brandied cherry (or lemon twist, if preferred)

Directions:
Add the St. Germain and mint sprig into a wine glass. Gently muddle and let sit for 3 minutes.
Add ice, prosecco and soda water, and stir briefly and gently to combine.
Garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon wheel.

This week, we’re diving into a question every marketer and business owner seems to be asking: Should your brand be on TikTok?

We’ll unpack what factors matter when deciding if the platform is right for you, how to avoid chasing trends just for the sake of it, and what makes a TikTok presence work for the brands that get it right.

Cocktail: Rob Roy

The Rob Roy is essentially a Scotch-based variation of the classic Manhattan. It was created in 1894 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City to honor the premiere of an operetta based on the Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor. The drink uses Scotch whisky instead of rye or bourbon, which gives it a smokier, peaty edge.

Tasting Notes:
Smooth, rich, and a little smoky with herbal notes from the vermouth and a slight spice from the bitters. A perfect sip for anyone who prefers a spirit-forward cocktail without the sweetness of a bourbon base.

Ingredients:

· 2 oz Scotch whisky

· ¾ oz sweet vermouth

· 2 dashes Angostura bitters

· Maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Add Scotch, vermouth, and bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice.

  2. Stir well until chilled.

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

This week, we’re speaking with a prominent figure in the Siouxland community, Alex Watters. We’ll discuss his personal journey and how he contributes to helping the Siouxland community every day.

Manhattan

The origin of the Manhattan cocktail is a bit of a mystery. The most popular story says it was created in the 1870s at the Manhattan Club in New York. Some believe Dr. Iain Marshall made it for a banquet hosted by Lady Randolph Churchill, while others claim a bartender named "Black" on Broadway was behind it.

Ingredients:

2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: brandied cherry (or lemon twist, if preferred)

Directions:
Add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe glass.
Garnish with a brandied cherry (or a lemon twist, if preferred).

In this episode, we’re breaking down what it takes to set up a HubSpot CRM. We’ll talk through what steps you can skip if you’re in a rush, what’s worth taking your time on, and how long the process typically takes for small to mid-sized businesses.

Tom Collins

This cocktail first appeared in the 1876 edition of Jerry Thomas’ Bar-Tender’s Guide. While the type of gin wasn’t specified, it was likely made with either Old Tom or Holland gin, the latter being more widely imported in the U.S. at the time. The drink’s name and style may have shifted depending on which was used.

Ingredients:

• 2 ounces London dry gin
• 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
• 1/2 ounce simple syrup
• Club soda, to top
• Garnish: lemon wheel
• Garnish: maraschino cherry

Directions:
1. Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to a Collins glass.
2. Fill with ice, top with club soda and stir.
3. Garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry (optional).

Marketing often presents ethical dilemmas that challenge professionals to balance business goals with moral responsibility. These dilemmas can range from issues of privacy and data protection to the truthfulness of advertising claims and the impact of marketing strategies on vulnerable populations. As marketers, we must constantly evaluate our actions and decisions, asking ourselves where to draw the line.

Lychee Spritz
This week’s cocktail is a refreshing twist on the classic Hugo Spritz, selected with Rich’s taste in mind. It’s a perfect choice for summer and an ideal pick for anyone who loves the delicate, floral sweetness of lychee. Light, crisp and subtly aromatic, this drink brings a bright, modern edge to a warm-weather favorite.

  • Garnish: 1 slice of lime and 1 sprig of fresh mint

Directions:

  1. Add ice to a large wine glass.
  2. Pour over the lychee liqueur.
  3. Gently pour the prosecco over the glass so you achieve the ombré effect.
  4. Squeeze in half a teaspoon of lime juice.
  5. Give one gentle mix and garnish with a slice of lime and sprig of mint.

In this episode, we’re joined by Nicki Werner, Owner and Director of Brewery Operations and Sales at Jefferson Beer Supply. We dive into the unique marketing challenges that come with running a brewery, from standing out in a crowded craft beer market to connecting with locals and visitors. We also get to know Nicki, a vibrant part of the Siouxland community, and hear why her passion for people, beer and small business makes her such an asset to the region.

Thai Tiki Sour
Last summer, Nicki showcased this bold, flavor-packed creation at one of Jefferson Beer Supply’s cocktail nights. It’s a vibrant, Southeast Asian-inspired beer cocktail that balances sweetness, heat, citrus and a touch of umami. It’s topped with a crisp, tart sour beer (or a pepper-infused brew if you’re feeling adventurous). The Taki-dusted rim adds a crunchy, spicy edge as well.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. lemongrass-ginger simple syrup
1 oz. fresh pineapple juice
1 dash toasted sesame oil
1 small Thai chili (muddled, optional for heat)
Sour beer (preferably a citrus based fruit sour). Alternatively, a hot pepper beer, like a Jalapeno Blonde, works.
Taki dust + lime wedge (for the rim)
Garnish: sprig of cilantro or ginger

Directions:
Rim the glass: Rub the rim of a chilled pint or cocktail glass with lime, then dip it in crushed Taki seasoning for a bold, crunchy edge.
Build the base: In a shaker, combine the syrup, pineapple juice, sesame oil and the muddled chili (if using). Shake gently with ice.
Strain: Pour over fresh ice in your prepped glass.
Top: Slowly top with your favorite tart, citrusy sour beer. Give it a quick stir.
Garnish: Add a sprig of cilantro or a thin slice of ginger. Serve with a side-eye and a straw.

Well, they’re just not going to work in most industries. Our hosts, Rich and Catelin, offer pointers to consider when determining whether a trend is suitable for you, along with a few trends that we believe should remain exactly that–a trend.

Hemmingway Daiquiri

This cocktail has been dubbed one of the most overrated classic cocktails, which feels pretty fitting for the topic of this episode. It was created after author Ernest Hemingway tried a daiquiri and declared he preferred it with no sugar and double the rum. The bartender made it just as requested and named the drink after him. It's definitely a unique one, and we’ll let you decide whether it lives up to the hype or the criticism.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. white rum
  • 1/2 oz. Maraschino liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
  • Garnish: lime wheel

Directions:

  • Add the rum, maraschino liqueur, lime juice and grapefruit juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.

Cocktail: Death Flip

In this episode, Jamie Johnson, our Digital Specialist, will share some SEO best practices that you should keep in mind while redesigning your website. It's important to be careful and calculated with your efforts, as you could potentially harm your website's rankings and content if you're not mindful.

Recipe:

In 2010, the Black Pearl in Melbourne added a new cocktail to their menu. However, the menu didn't list the ingredients, and if you asked the bartender about the drink, they wouldn't reveal the recipe either. The only clue given to customers was a foreboding description that read, "You don't wanna meet this cocktail in a dark alley."

Plenty of people took the risk and ended up liking the cocktail. If the ingredients were listed: tequila, yellow Chartreuse, Jägermeister and a whole egg, not many people would've tried it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. blanco tequila
  • .50 oz. yellow Chartreuse
  • .50 oz. Jägermeister
  • 1 dash simple syrup
  • 1 whole egg
  • Freshly grated nutmeg

Steps:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake with ice.
  2. Strain into a sour glass.
  3. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

At their core, content themesrefer to the central topics or ideas around which content is created and organized. Recipe:

The Rusty Nail drink was likely invented in the 1930s and gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s. Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack helped make it a favorite of sophisticated drinkers. However, it eventually fell out of fashion and is now an obscure choice. Although not all bars have the necessary ingredient, Drambuie, it’s easy to make at home and worth trying for a classy drink.

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz. scotch
  • .75 oz. Drambuie

Steps:

  1. Add the scotch and Drambuie into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.

Digital Specialist, Geri, takes us through a conversation about the differences between PPC and SEO, and how they work together. And along the way, we enjoy a nice spicy jalapeño margarita! Give it a listen. She and Catelin have some fun tangents (promise).

Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup good tequila (we use a nice añejo)
  • 1 jalapeño pepper (you'll use 1/4 - 1/2 of it)
  • 1/4 cup Gran Marnier
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (plus some slices for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (or orange juice—try it with tangerine juice. Wow!

This one is a spicy version of an old favorite.

  1. Slice 1/2 the jalapeño into circles for garnish, then dice the rest
  2. Pour the tequila into a glass pitcher and put the diced jalepeño into it (more for spicier, less for, well, less spicy)
  3. Set tequila/jalepeño mixture aside for 15-20 minutes at room temperatore (the longer the spicier)
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pitcher
  5. Not spicy enough? Add more jalapeño and let it sit a bit
  6. Put ice in glasses, and pour!

A counter to last week's episode (and the second part of what could have been a really LONG episode) Rich and Catelin pivot to things that make a great work culture. Take a listen for the positive side of the work environment. (And because it's a continuation of last week, we've got the same cocktail this week. I know. Sort of a rip off. Sorry!)

Jungle Bird

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounces blackstrap rum
  • 3/4 ounce Campari
  • 1 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 ounce demerara syrup
  • Garnish: pineapple wedge

This one dates back to the 1970s and is a fantastic summer cocktail.

  1. Add ice to your favorite cocktail shaker, then put in the rum, Campari, pineapple and lime juices, and demerara syrup. Shake it like your mother taught you until well chilled (Pro tip: If you use a stainless steel shaker your hand should be REALLY cold. That means it's ready).
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice (Rich has also been known to put this in a coupe glass, because he can't get enough of a coupe glass).
  3. Garnish with a pineapple wedge.
