Games Jobs Live is a series of events, interviews and gamejams to bring together game development studios and people looking for a new job in games - whether they already work in the industry, another industry, or have recently graduated and are looking to join.

The global games market is a $159 billion industry, with 2.7 billion people globally playing video games, with it being one of the few industries to see growth as a result of Covid-19, and now nearly 50,000 people work across the UK's games development, publishing and retail sectors.
The livestreamed event will feature speakers from acclaimed game developers, and Escape Studios, Abertay University, University of Liverpool and Salford University will also talk about the games courses they offer, and be available online for the event duration to answer any questions.

Steve Bromley led user research studies for many of PlayStation’s top European games including Horizon: Zero Dawn, SingStar and the PlayStation VR launch lineup. He continues to work with games and VR studios to improve the player experience of their games.
For the last five years, Steve Bromley has run a games user research mentoring scheme, which has partnered over one hundred students with more than fifty industry professionals from top companies such as Sony, EA, Valve, Ubisoft, and Microsoft, and helped many people get their first job in games. He recently released a book, How To Be A Games User Researcher which covers many of the topics that mentees have asked as they start their games user research career.

James Parker has worked in the games industry for over 20 years. He has been made redundant (and in one exciting turn of events, fired) from the pantheon of great British games developers, and has released over twenty games... most notably the PC port of movie tie-in uber-flop Catwoman, and a puzzle game based on Channel 4's Embarrassing Bodies. He currently runs boutique-Bristol-based games developer Ground Shatter, where he directs a nine-strong, hand-picked team of game developers making stylish, action-movie inspired, gaming nuggets. They just released Fights in Tight Spaces, a deck-building strategy game about smashing people's faces into things, and are currently developing RICO: London a game about kicking doors and shooting cockney gangsters.
