Hello everyone. My name is Kathy Matesic and I want to welcome you to my podcast where I share God's word, and some of my story, with you. It is my hope that God's word will bring freedom into your life and you experience the love, peace, joy and hope that he offers.
Jesus calls all of us to be a light to those around us. When we take time to encourage others we share God's light with them. The apostle Paul was a great example of someone who encouraged others. As we read from one of his letters we'll learn how he did this.
God's word is here to teach us, guide us, help us, correct us and encourage us. Today we'll read scriptures that can encourage us on our journey.
God's wisdom is different then worldly wisdom. I pray the scriptures we read today in James 1:1-27 will help you on your journey.
Surrendering, trusting and following Jesus when life gets difficult can be hard. Pouring out our hearts to him and asking him to help us can give us the strength/courage we need for the journey.
As we read from the book of Exodus we learn how God's people, the Israelities, left their captivity. I hope these passages encourage you to move forward in your journey.
I pray as you read the scriptures in Luke 1-3:22 you will know the truth, believe in the truth and follow the truth; Jesus.
God speaks to each of us. Are you taking the time to be still and listen to what he has to tell you?
Praying for our family is such an important part of our journey. Today we'll read scriptures that show us how to pray for our family.
The prayer that Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:9-13 has brought me peace. I pray it does the same for you.
I believe we all have moments of anxiety, stress, fear and worry. In those moments we need to turn to Jesus and ask for help. I pray Psalm 121 will help you.
Judging others is a sin that leads to shaming and condemning others. Today we'll look at scriptures that help correct us from this sin.
It was never God's intention for us to be alone. His desire is for us to have good and healthy relationships that are full of love, joy peace, hope and unity.
Only Jesus can heal the brokenness inside of us. Only Jesus knows our every thought and action. Only Jesus loves us so much that he died on a cross for us. Cling to Him. He is the truth and the light.
Honouring God through prayer, praise and thanksgiving needs to be a part of who we are. In today's readings we see how people of the Bible honoured God. ***please note the final scripture reading is Psalm 69:30 and not 69:13.
How has your week been? Good? Hard? Confusing? No matter what is going on in our lives, it can be hard to take time to be with Jesus. This week's scripture reading teaches us to be still. I hope it blesses you.
As followers of Jesus, there are times in our lives where we can 'fall away from' or 'stop growing in' our faith. As we read from the gospel/book of Luke 8:4-15 we learn how to avoid this from happening.
Are you in a season where you need to make a big decision? Is there a decision you need to make that will not only impact you but those close to you? In this episode I share some scriptures that are helping me on my 'big decision' journey. I pray these scriptures help you and bless you.
As followers of Jesus, and His ways, we need to wake up to the false teachings in the world about Jesus. This week we read scriptures from the Bible that remind us of who Jesus really is. My hope is that these scriptures will help you to remember the truth, that Jesus is our Lord and saviour.
How do we trust a God we can not see? How do we trust that God will take care of us? The answer, we get to know the God of the bible. This week as we read from the book of Isaiah we learn about God and his son Jesus. Knowing and understanding the character of God can help us to trust Him more.
I pray that the scriptures I read from the book of Psalms, and the book of Proverbs, will help you to keep your eyes on God so that you praise him in the good days and the hard days. May these scriptures also help you to keep moving forward on your journey through life. Blessings.
Recognizing and repenting of our sins is an important part of our Christian journey. However, too often, we ignore/brush off our sins rather then taking them to the Lord and asking for forgiveness. In this episode we read where the first sin happened and how Adam and Eve tried to cover their sin, and themselves, up.
This week as we read from God's word, we'll talk about the difference between our needs, wants, dreams and desires. I'll also share how I learned to surrender all of these things to the Lord. Blessings to you. Kathy.
Do you find it hard to take time to rest physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually? In this episode I talk about how taking time to rest with God can bring peace, hope and joy into your life.
God, the creator of this beautiful world, gave each of us the gift of creativity. Let's use this gift to honour him and bless others.
Do you feel you need a new beginning? Are you searching for things in life that will bring you love, hope, joy or peace? I believe the answers are found in the pages of the bible. My prayer is that as we read God's word together it brings you closer to him. This week we will be reading from the book of Genesis and learn who God is and his great love for you. Blessings, Kathy
