The role of the Trivia master is to listen intently to everything that is said during the meeting and
to create five or six questions to ask the audience. These questions are intended to test the
audience’s listening skills.
This role provides the opportunity for all at the meeting to actively practice and test their
listening skills. As the Trivia master, you lead the audience by exemplifying active listening. As
the meeting progresses, jot down simple questions based on what was said or done, the
content of any assignment or what was learned.
The most valuable aspect of Toastmasters is the evaluations they give and receive. In successful clubs, members support each other through evaluations that encourage speakers to continue practicing and learning. Members who receive thoughtful evaluations feel heard and become motivated to improve.
Grammarian is a role at a Toastmasters meeting. As Grammarian, one need to make note of any incorrect grammar used by any speakers. Grammarian function as a part of the meeting's evaluation team and give a report at the end of the meeting of any incorrect and unique grammar used. The purpose of the Ah-Counter is to note any overused words or filler sounds used as a crutch by anyone who speaks during the meeting.
