In this solar tower concept, the blower transports ambient air through the receiver and receives heat through the sunlight reflection. The air drawn in is done by either the wire mesh, ceramic or metallic material in the receiver. The temperature of the air drawn in is between 650 to 850°C. Incoming air from the front side cools down the receiver surface thereby reducing the radiation losses on the receiver surface resulting in the production of steam by the heating boiler.
