Beyond the Classroom: Voices from Community Colleges is a podcast dedicated to uplifting the voices of community college students, mentors, and professors. These stories will guide our understanding of the triumphs and hardships of navigating community college life in North Carolina.
In this last episode, host Kaidyn Radford talks to Dr. John Gossett, the current president of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and the former president of McDowell Technical Community College where Kaidyn earned his associate degree in 2017. At the time, he served as student body president and worked with Dr. Gossett as the voice for the students. In this interview, Dr. Gossett discusses the difficulties of becoming A-B Tech's president during COVID-19 and what community colleges are doing to make sure all students have the support they need.
