Your email open rates aren’t dropping because your audience stopped caring. A lot of the time, your emails are simply not getting a fair shot in the Primary inbox. I’m talking about the quiet shift so many teacher entrepreneurs are seeing right now: AI written emails that look “perfect” to us, but look suspicious to Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo spam filters that are also powered by AI.

I walk through what I noticed when I used ChatGPT to generate a big chunk of my TPT email marketing, how both of my audiences started dipping at the same time, and why returning to human written emails helped my open rates bounce back. We dig into deliverability basics that actually matter for Teachers Pay Teachers sellers: inbox tab placement, sender reputation, and the engagement signals that influence where your message lands.

Then we get practical. I share how to keep AI in your workflow without letting it replace your voice: use it for brainstorming subject lines, hooks, and outlines, then write the email yourself with real stories, specificity, and even a little messiness. We also talk about optimizing for engagement instead of “perfect delivery,” including simple ways to earn replies, run a reply based freebie, and break predictable patterns that filters can flag.

If you want more actionable, step by step email marketing strategies for TPT sellers, subscribe to the podcast, share this with a teacher friend who’s struggling with opens, and leave a review so more creators can find it. What’s one change you’ll make to your next email?

Your inbox can make or break your Teachers Pay Teachers income, and most of the damage comes from a few fixable habits. We’re digging into five email marketing mistakes that quietly drain revenue for teacher entrepreneurs and TPT sellers, even when you have great resources and a solid audience. If you’ve ever gone a week without sending a newsletter, worried you’re annoying your subscribers, or stared at low open rates wondering what happened, this conversation gives you a clean, practical reset.

We talk about why consistency matters more than perfection and what to do when life derails your plan (including a simple “double up” strategy to get back on track). We also challenge the idea that email equals inconvenience. When your message is built around helping teachers feel supported, seen, and equipped, you’re not spamming anyone, you’re building community and trust that compounds over time.

Then we get tactical: why avoiding sales emails is a costly mistake, how a paid teaching resource can be genuine value when it saves time and lowers stress, and how often to make a clear offer. We also cover subject lines as the gatekeeper to better email open rates, plus an easy way to test and improve them. Finally, we share a smart approach to resending to non openers, including how to tweak subject lines, adjust the email body, and test send times so you reach more readers without looking spammy.

If you want actionable email marketing for TPT sellers, press play and take notes. Subscribe for more strategies, share this with a teacher friend building a business, and leave a review with the one email mistake you’re fixing first.

A 10% discount is nice. A discount you set once and let run while you teach is even better.

I’m Lauren Fulton, and I’m breaking down the newest Teachers Pay Teachers discount features and the simple ways I’d use them to bring more buyers into a TPT store. I walk you step by step through where to find Promotions and Discounts, what each option does, and how I think about setting percentages based on buyer intent. The new first-time buyer discount is a big deal for converting TPT search traffic because it gives brand-new shoppers a reason to trust you fast and make that first purchase.

We also talk through the two familiar tools, follower discounts and abandoned cart discounts, and why they work when teachers are busy and buying in real time. I share how these promos can encourage store follows (so you can reach people again through Notes to Followers) and how an abandoned cart email can pull a would-be sale back across the finish line without you lifting a finger.

Then we get honest about the downside sellers worry about: pricing and fees. If you sell lots of low-priced resources, a discount can drop an item under the $3 threshold and add extra transaction costs. I explain how to think through that risk, when I would run discounts for short windows, and why I’d avoid inflating prices just to “cancel out” a deal.

If you want more sustainable TPT marketing, hit play, take one action today, and let the system keep working. Subscribe, share this with a teacher friend who sells on TPT, and leave a review with the discount % you’re testing next.

What would you do if your TPT store vanished overnight? We walk through a clear, practical rebuild plan that trades guesswork for data and momentum. Starting with a fresh brand and a simple email funnel, we show how to plant the seeds for reliable traffic and repeat buyers by placing an opt-in inside every paid product and sending value-packed messages that earn trust.

From there, we map out the Create Three strategy: choose a niche you know cold, research rankable keywords on TPT, and build three distinct product templates. Launch two to three tightly focused resources from each template, then let the market speak. Early signals like views, favorites, and first purchases will identify your winner long before everything sells out. Once a line proves itself, double down fast, expand across adjacent standards, and bundle to raise average order value without adding friction.

Pricing and timing become your advantage. Pair one premium line in the $8–$10 range with faster-to-build $1–$2 and $3–$4 items that spark impulse buys and reviews for a new brand. Layer in seasonal versions from your existing templates to capture lower-competition searches around holidays, testing windows, and back-to-school. The combination builds surface area in search, speeds discovery, and creates natural upgrade paths for buyers who want more.

We also get real about mindset and visibility. Consistency beats bursts of inspiration, and most creators aren’t invited to the table—they pull up a chair. Reach out to hosts of summits, hashtag sales, and collabs with clear asks and follow-up timelines. Keep your titles precise, previews honest, and descriptions aligned with the exact phrases teachers use. Want more screen-share walkthroughs and step-by-step demos? Think a small TPT catalog can’t make a dent? We walk through the real numbers from a tiny, neglected second store—23 paid products, zero bundles, minimal email, almost no social—and how it still earned $538 last year and $63 in January. The secret isn’t hustle for hustle’s sake; it’s an intentional system that turns limited time into repeatable outcomes.

We break down the “create three” approach that accelerates validation: design three product templates, publish a few in each, then double down on the line that gets traction. Morning work rose to the top because it’s fast to produce, easy to explain, and simple to expand with themes and grade levels. By reusing layouts and clip art across listings, creation time drops, brand clarity grows, and previews stay consistent—making it easier for buyers to add multiple related items to their carts.

Seasonality and light SEO do quiet heavy lifting. A quick monthly sweep to refresh titles, descriptions, and tags for upcoming holidays kept products visible without a big marketing push. We also unpack the realistic math of scaling: double the listings, roughly double the revenue; add bundles to lift average order value; and nurture a small email list with helpful, on-theme content. Most importantly, we show why intention outperforms volume—fewer, better products in a coherent line often beat scattered catalogs built on guesswork.

Whether you’re new to TPT or rethinking a mature store, you’ll leave with a clear playbook: validate fast, standardize templates, expand winning lines, optimize before peak seasons, and treat your shop like a business if you want business-level results. If this breakdown helped, follow the show, share it with a TPT friend, and leave a quick review so more teacher-sellers can find it. What product line will you test first?

The ground is moving under TPT sellers, and 2026 will reward those who adapt with speed and intention. We dig into a clear playbook: use AI to produce cohesive volume without sacrificing quality, turn quick wins into cash flow, and reinvest profits into durable assets like email lists, signature bundles, and curriculum that AI can’t easily clone. The aim isn’t to flood the marketplace—it’s to build product lines that cover multiple levels, formats, and standards, while aligning previews, tags, and SEO to how teachers actually search.

We also pull back the curtain on data. Guesswork is out, targeted creation is in. Tools like Seller Spy and Your Data Playbook help you spot real demand, validate keywords, and avoid time sinks. As creation gets easier, the edge shifts to picking the right problems: standards that are under-served, seasonal spikes worth batching, and long-tail search terms your store can own. We share how to use “sell now, build moats” thinking—launch timely resources to generate revenue, then channel that money into evergreen lines and audience growth that compound over time.

Classrooms are changing too. Teachers need resources that teach students to use AI responsibly: brainstorming ethically, checking accuracy, and refining drafts with rubrics. That opens powerful niches—from dyslexia-friendly reading sets and behavior supports to multilingual scaffolds and executive function tools—where generic AI falls short. Expect niche stores to beat generic catalogs as buyers prioritize fit and pedagogy over breadth. We also break down the new hiring model: fewer generalist VAs, more specialists and project managers, with AI handling repetitive tasks while humans focus on quality, accessibility, and strategy.

We close with a wishlist for better TPT analytics, including improved search insights and preview metrics that help sellers optimize faster. If you’re ready to future-proof your store—blend AI with craft, let data steer your roadmap, and build offers that last—this conversation is your field guide. If it resonates, follow the show, share it with a TPT friend, and leave a quick review to help more sellers find us. What’s your bold prediction for 2026?

Imagine turning AI into your most reliable team member—one that drafts standards-aligned problems, writes crystal-clear directions, spots bottlenecks, and even helps convert Google Sheets activities to Excel for schools with strict tech rules. That’s where we go today as we unpack five practical strategies TPT sellers can use to work faster, improve quality, and scale without burning out.

We start with the foundation: precise prompting and curated chats that “remember” your expectations. You’ll hear how we prime AI with state standards, difficulty bands, and real examples to generate unique math problems, short stories, and function tables that actually fit the classroom. Then we show how dedicated chats for specific tasks—elementary computation, upper-grade functions, ELAR passages, and social analytics—cut rework and create consistent outputs. You’ll also learn the simple trick for producing two sets of directions: short, student-friendly steps and detailed teacher guidance that reduces support questions and builds trust with buyers.

From there, we dig into efficiency. We map common SOPs for covers, previews, and listings, and ask AI to flag time-wasters, suggest automation, and design batch workflows. We outline how to build self-checking digital activities in Google Sheets or Excel and translate formulas between platforms so your resources work across different district ecosystems. We also add a powerful bonus: using AI to analyze TPT product insights and social metrics, propose weekly priorities, and justify recommendations so you can refine decisions with confidence. Along the way, we share real wins—learning Facebook ads with AI coaching, shipping more resources by pairing AI generation with human QA, and saving serious money by outsourcing only what humans must do.

Blank pages waste time; smart templates build businesses. We walk through three practical builds in Canva and show how to turn simple starting points into original, high-value resources teachers actually want to buy on TPT—without copying or cutting corners. You’ll see how small design tweaks, licensed fonts, and clean layouts boost clarity, and how scaling one idea into a multipage set instantly lifts perceived value and price.

First, we rework a color-by-number into a focused operations with integers pack. The approach is simple: refine borders, swap in your brand fonts, and structure problems so color sections reinforce computation. Then we show how to multiply that effort—three pages each for adding, multiplying, and dividing, plus optional word problems—so you have a cohesive nine-page resource that justifies a $3 price point and positions you for bundles.

Next, we rethink task cards as a concept-building sort. Students match fractions, decimals, and percents to visual pie charts, turning recall into flexible translation across representations. We share layout tips, a scaffolded example card, and self-checking options that cut grading time. For primary teachers, the same framework adapts to phonics—sorting clip art by initial sounds or grouping by target answers for early math.

Finally, we convert cute but digital-only letter sorts into print-ready pages with clear directions, dashed cut lines, and intuitive visuals like a shelf and trash can for keep-or-toss sorting. From there, it’s easy to expand into uppercase vs. lowercase sorts, mixed-word identify-and-circle pages, and cumulative reviews. Throughout, we emphasize ethical use of Canva (you’ll need Canva Pro for selling Pro elements), originality, and shop trust—because sustainable growth on TPT comes from real classroom value and consistent quality.

Feeling pressure to launch a groundbreaking TPT resource right out of the gate? Let’s flip that script. We walk through a practical path that favors simplicity, clarity, and momentum so you can master the listing process, reduce stress, and build a store that grows with you.

We start with a counterintuitive truth: your first product’s job isn’t to make money; it’s to teach you the workflow. From file prep to keyworded titles, from scannable covers to persuasive previews, we break down each step and show why familiar formats like task cards, color by number, and card sorts are the smartest training ground. You’ll learn how to analyze top sellers, borrow proven visual cues, and create reusable templates in Canva or PowerPoint that cut production time and sharpen your brand.

We also unpack the hidden cost of launching something wildly original too soon. If a teacher can’t understand your product in three seconds of search-grid scanning, they won’t click. That’s not a creativity problem—it’s a communication problem. We explain how to avoid it, when to take creative risks, and how to phase your growth: start simple, lock your systems, then add unique twists with clear benefit statements. Along the way, we lean into a sustainable mindset—less pressure, more practice—and share why we’re shifting tutorials to YouTube where you can see step-by-step screens and follow along at your own pace.

If you want a playbook that turns overwhelm into action and helps you ship your next product with confidence, this is your map. Subscribe, share this episode with a fellow teacher-author, and leave a review with the one simple product you’ll publish next—what’s your pick?

Ready to stop rebuilding from scratch and start shipping seasonal resources at speed? We open the playbook to turn a single “magic numbers” puzzle into a full set of New Year math activities across multiple grade levels. You’ll hear exactly how we modify a cross-out template, expand the number grid, and map digits to letters to reveal a message like “Happy New Year.” Then we show how to populate the content fast by pulling problems from previous resources and using AI to draft themed word problems that you can fine-tune for clarity and rigor.

Once the content is set, we move into a publishing pipeline built for batching. We export slides as PNGs, assemble clean student and answer PDFs, and drop in terms of use across every open file in one pass. For $2 listings, we keep covers and previews aligned with a template that demonstrates the puzzle mechanic without exposing the full resource. A quick promo window at a lower price point helps jumpstart traffic and search visibility before returning to the standard price. You’ll see how this approach produced meaningful December revenue from low-cost items and, more importantly, surfaced clear data on which grades and topics actually convert.

The bigger win is strategic: small seasonal products create fast feedback loops. By launching multiple versions—multiplication, equivalent fractions, solving equations—we learn which segments of our audience respond, then focus on middle grades and multi-level skills that sell. Templates carry forward year after year by swapping the reveal text from “Happy New Year” to “2026,” “2027,” and beyond, letting us scale output without sacrificing quality. If you want a practical, repeatable system to publish more, earn data faster, and keep your store active while you build high-ticket anchors, this walkthrough is for you. If it helps, share it with a fellow TPT seller, subscribe for more step-by-step builds, and leave a review with the next seasonal theme you want us to tackle.

Ready to replace guesswork with a game plan? We dive into TPT’s latest seller updates and unpack how to use them to drive real revenue: unique buyers, carts, and a fresh set of calculated metrics that turn raw numbers into clear steps. I share how I read earnings per cart, earnings per view, and units per cart to spot where money leaks and how to plug them with bundles, add-ons, and smarter pricing.

We explore the Product Insights tab to separate traffic issues from conversion issues. You’ll hear concrete examples of listings that lost traffic but gained conversion and why that matters for ranking, previews, covers, and titles. I show how to sort winners and decliners, use wishlist trends, and filter by product categories to find the fastest opportunities. No fluff—just the exact clues that point to the next five updates worth your time.

Then we get tactical with the new discount tools. Abandoned cart emails recover forgotten purchases with a simple 10% nudge, while follower discounts reward your audience and encourage the follow. I walk through an easy weekly activation cadence and share the lift I’ve seen without heavy promotion. We tie it all together with the three growth levers—traffic, conversion, and retention—and how to pick your focus for 2026 based on your own data, not a trend or a guess.

If you’re a TPT seller who wants higher earnings per view, stronger conversion, and more repeat buyers, this walkthrough is your roadmap. Listen, take notes, and then choose one lever to pull this month. If it helps, share the episode with a friend, subscribe for more data-driven strategies, and leave a review so we can keep creating the resources you need.

Stop setting random goals that look good on paper and build a plan that actually grows your TPT store. We dig into the quiet reason January resolutions fail for sellers: a lopsided focus on traffic while ignoring conversion and customer retention. Views matter, but without a store that converts and a system that brings buyers back, more clicks just multiply frustration. We break the cycle with a simple, repeatable framework you can use to shape your 2026 profit plan.

First, we unpack traffic the right way—seasonal keyword research, standards language teachers actually search, and resource ideas that match real classroom timing. Then we turn to conversion, where the biggest wins often hide: mobile-friendly covers, a thumbnail story that sells outcomes, previews that answer objections in seconds, and pricing that reflects value in your niche. Finally, we show how retention multiplies every effort: thoughtful post-purchase emails, bundle pathways, product ecosystems that build trust, and updates that keep customers engaged across the school year.

You’ll hear how to read your data to pick a starting point, map tasks to each revenue driver, and avoid the trap of busywork disguised as growth. If you’ve ever asked why more views aren’t leading to more sales, this conversation gives you a practical path forward and a way to plan an entire year with clarity and confidence. Ready to trade guesswork for a blueprint? Join our TPT Profit Plan workshop to build your personalized roadmap for 2026, then come back next week to keep the momentum going.

If this helped you, follow the show, share with a TPT friend, and leave a quick review—what revenue driver are you focusing on first?

Ready to break the $100 ceiling and build toward consistent $500 months on TPT? We walk through seven practical strategies that compound: building an email list that actually drives clicks, dialing in TPT SEO so buyers can find you, and transforming previews into guided tours that sell. Along the way, we show how to read your data, identify conversion gaps, and replicate wins across a product line so each successful resource becomes a template for growth.

We start with traffic you control - simple email systems, focused lead magnets, and timely messages that connect your content to classroom needs. Then we push for discoverability on the platform itself, using clean titles, clear descriptions, and accurate tags that match real teacher search behavior. With more eyes on your listings, we turn to conversion: what a high-performing preview looks like, why 300+ views is a smart threshold for analysis, and how one optimized template can lift a whole catalog.

Retention ties it all together. We map out how to extend a bestseller into a cohesive line, bundle for real savings, and add subtle upsells in both previews and product descriptions that nudge buyers toward multi-item carts. Finally, we talk about accelerating your learning curve through coaching, courses, and a focused planning workshop, so you stop guessing and start executing a clear 2026 plan with measurable goals.

If you’re ready to grow with intention - more visibility, stronger conversions, and repeat buyers - hit play. Subscribe, share this with a fellow TPT seller, and leave a review telling us which strategy you’ll implement first.

What if the real reason your TPT store isn’t scaling has nothing to do with effort or even product quality? We dig into the hidden growth lever most sellers miss: building a simple, coherent sales machine that turns one resource into many repeat purchases. Instead of chasing the algorithm or piling up a cold email list, we map a clear path from strategic product lines to value‑first marketing and trust that compounds.

We start by reframing growth around a product line that serves a specific teacher need across many topics. That focus lets you market timeless benefits—student engagement, easier prep, smoother routines—while always having the exact resource a buyer needs this week. From there, we walk through a practical funnel: choose one line, craft a free opt‑in that delivers a quick classroom win, and build an email sequence that alternates pure teaching with concise offers. The goal isn’t a quick spike; it’s a rhythm that earns attention, proves credibility, and makes the purchase feel like the next logical step.

You’ll hear how to replace random uploads with intentional gaps to fill, how to expand a line based on teacher requests, and how to re‑introduce the same products seasonally without sounding repetitive. We also break down the shift from short‑term sales thinking to long‑term loyalty—what to say after the first purchase, how to keep buyers coming back, and when to introduce adjacent lines that leverage existing trust. If you’ve been hovering under the $2K mark, this framework gives you a focused way to grow without burnout or guesswork.

Ready to plan your year around what actually drives sales? Join the TPT Profit Plan workshop and walk away with a step‑by‑step growth plan, live examples, and clear priorities. Subscribe, share with a seller friend, and leave a review to tell us what product line you’ll focus on first.

Ready to stop feeling invisible on Teachers Pay Teachers and start making sales with confidence? We break down a simple, repeatable strategy that helps you pick the right product, target the right buyers, and build real momentum—starting with a timely seasonal approach that delivers quick wins. Rather than guessing, we use search data to validate demand, identify first-page openings, and choose keywords that align with how teachers actually shop during high-interest holidays.

We walk through live examples like “subtraction third grade Halloween” and “Halloween division activity fourth grade” to show how review counts reveal demand and how zero-review results signal space for a new listing. From there, we map a streamlined workflow: batch creation, fast cover development, and preview assets that clearly show value. You’ll learn how smart cover design—square format, bold Halloween palette, and unmistakable theme cues—can lift click-through rates, and why tight grade levels and tagged standards increase trust and conversions. We also break down how to write a keyword-rich title and snippet that boosts search visibility without sounding robotic.

The final piece is momentum. We share practical ways to spark that crucial first purchase by posting to your existing audience, even personal social feeds, and using early sales as a credibility signal to the marketplace. After the holiday, we review data—views, conversion rate, ranking—and turn proven seasonal winners into evergreen resources with minimal rework. Expect real tactics you can apply to any niche: validate demand, optimize listings, share strategically, and scale what works. Subscribe, leave a review if this helped, and grab the free guide to your first $100 on TPT so you can take action today.

Price isn’t just a number on Teachers Pay Teachers—it’s a signal that guides clicks, conversions, and the algorithm’s attention. We dig into how buyers scan search results, what “fair value” looks like in context, and why a $0.50 tweak can lift both earnings and rank without sacrificing trust.

I walk through a live case study of a one-page, eight-problem function notation activity with a unique emoji puzzle angle. We compare it against search results in the same keywords, map where most offers cluster on price, and unpack how underpricing can raise quality doubts while overpricing can stall sales and bury your listing. You’ll hear how moving from $1.50 to $2 fits the market range, increases revenue per sale, and sends stronger signals to TPT’s search engine—while still respecting the product’s true value.

From there, we break down a simple framework you can apply right away: research pricing before you create, build to the value that matches the winning price cluster, and run small, thoughtful tests after launch. If you see consistent $3 to $4 winners on your keywords, add depth—more problems, warm-ups, paired worksheets, or a mini set of activities—to justify that tier. If your product is intentionally small, aim for the highest defensible price that still attracts clicks beside similar listings. The goal is to balance perceived value, buyer budget, and algorithm incentives so your catalog earns more and ranks faster over time.

Ready to make your first $100 on Teachers Pay Teachers without a big audience or ads? We walk you through the exact three-step plan that launched sales in a saturated pre-K niche: build one purposeful product you truly believe in, duplicate that winning structure across new themes, and time smart seasonal resources to test demand fast. Along the way, you’ll hear how a month-long, low-prep dinosaur unit outperformed cut-and-paste competitors by solving real classroom and homeschool pain points—print-and-go, repeatable activities, and clear skill coverage.

We dig into the mechanics of building a product line that compounds: keep the layout and skills consistent, swap themes to meet student interests, and make it easy for buyers to grab month two and three in the same visit. Then we use seasonal spikes as a laboratory. Holiday resources bring quick traffic in less competitive windows, helping you diagnose whether your problem is visibility or conversion. If views are low, focus on SEO and cover clarity. If views are healthy but sales lag, fix previews, thumbnails, and descriptions to improve the add-to-cart moment.

You’ll also learn a dead-simple TPT search test to validate demand before you commit: find niches where top listings have strong reviews but page one still includes zero-review products. That gap means you can rank early with a new listing. We pair this with a strategic freebie—a high-quality sample that feeds discovery and encourages follows on the download page. For output planning, we recommend an early catalog split of five evergreen and five seasonal resources, then shifting back to evergreen once your data points to what works.

Want help putting this into action? Grab the free step-by-step guide linked in the show notes, complete with check boxes to keep you moving. If this strategy helps, subscribe for weekly tips, share the episode with a TPT friend, and leave a quick review so more creators can find it.

Ever wonder why a product with steady views still stalls at the checkout page? We walk through a live teardown of a fall pre-K morning work resource and show exactly how to pinpoint whether thumbnails or the preview are killing conversions. Using simple ratios—view to preview and preview to purchase—we turn a fuzzy problem into a clear plan, then apply it step by step with real numbers and an easy framework you can copy for any TPT listing.

First, we map the buyer journey and explain why thumbnails only earn curiosity while the preview must close the sale. Then we run the math: a strong 60.6% view-to-preview rate tells us thumbnails are pulling weight, while a 15% preview-to-purchase rate signals the preview is the bottleneck. From there, we outline fixable gaps: too-small page images, vague skill lists, and missing outcome language that leaves buyers guessing. You’ll hear how to redesign the preview like a mini sales page—bold benefit headline, zoomed-in pages with readable overlays, clear skills, two to three minutes per day messaging, and a simple list of flexible uses that fit classrooms and home routines.

We also show how improving conversions compounds traffic. Lifting preview-to-purchase from 15% to 33% doesn’t just double revenue per 200 views; it nudges TPT’s algorithm to show your product more often because it earns more per visitor. Finally, we share practical copy swaps, layout tips, and a smart cross-sell move that invites buyers to explore the full themed line so carts grow beyond a single resource. If you’ve struggled to boost sales without buying ads, this data-first approach will help you focus on the one change that matters most right now.

If you found this helpful, follow the show, share it with a fellow TPT seller, and leave a quick review so more educators can discover these tactics. Got a listing you want us to diagnose next? Send it our way.

Ready to turn a quiet list into a revenue engine? We break down a simple three-email rotation that builds connection, boosts deliverability, and drives confident purchases—without feeling pushy. After nine years on TPT and six-figure annual sales from email alone, Lauren shares the playbook that keeps subscribers engaged and eager to buy.

First, we unpack engagement that actually matters: clicks, replies, and forwards. You’ll learn how these actions do double duty—cementing your brand in a subscriber’s memory while improving sender reputation with Gmail and Yahoo. We share easy prompts you can deploy today, from “Reply with a keyword” for a free resource to giveaway formats that encourage forwarding to peers and bring new educators into your world.

Next, we focus on service. Freebies help, but ideas that solve real classroom problems build authority faster. We talk through how to deliver practical, Monday-ready tips and then bridge to a related product that saves time and amplifies results. This isn’t a tease; it’s a natural extension of value that makes the purchase feel obvious and helpful.

Finally, we make the case for unapologetic selling. Clear, direct sales emails set the stakes, define the fit, and create timely reasons to act. We cover frequency, messaging, and gentle urgency that respects your audience. By rotating emails that spark engagement, serve with substance, and sell with clarity, you’ll see stronger opens, richer conversations, and more consistent sales over the next two to six months.

If you’re serious about growing a profitable TPT business through email, this is your roadmap. Subscribe for weekly strategies, and share this episode with a teacherpreneur who needs a simple plan that works. Then tell us: Which email will you send first?

Holiday breaks can either recharge you or leave you scrambling—and for TPT sellers, the difference is planning. We dig into a simple framework for turning scattered days off from October through December into less stress now and more sales later, without sacrificing time with family. You’ll hear three clear paths—take the time fully off, create a balanced 50-50 split, or run a short, intentional sprint if you have a major goal—and how to choose the one that fits your season and personality.

We talk through practical ways to prepare before you unplug: optimize seasonal product listings for search, queue your Cyber Monday and sitewide sale emails, and refresh thumbnails and previews that impact conversion all year. Then we map exactly how to use one or two focused workdays in a break to batch deep work—keyword updates, resource creation, and email sequences—so your evenings stay free once school ramps back up with grading and exams. Instead of trying to squeeze an hour here and there, a concentrated push gives you breathing room and a calmer return in January.

You’ll also get a step-by-step calendar strategy: block family events first, mark true no-work days, then assign specific goals to the remaining work blocks. That clarity makes it easier to accept last-minute invitations without guilt, because you know what can move and what can’t. Most importantly, we call out the pressure-cooker trap of trying to finish a year’s worth of goals over the holidays and offer a saner alternative—focus on compound wins like SEO, evergreen products, and list engagement that pay off long after the decorations are packed away.

If this approach helps, subscribe, share the episode with a teacher-author friend, and leave a quick review. Then tell us: are you going full rest, balanced split, or a short sprint this year?

You don’t need a giant following to build a powerful email list—you need a clear plan, the right tool for your stage, and a freebie your audience actually wants. We walk through a practical, teacher-focused roadmap to get from “mom + 50” to thousands, with real numbers, platform trade-offs, and a system you can set up in a weekend. If you’ve been stuck wondering whether Flowdesk or ConvertKit fits your workflow and budget, we compare simplicity versus automation, how pricing changes impact growth, and why a generous free tier can help you reach profitability before you ever pay a bill.

From there, we design a high-converting opt-in: an exclusive, classroom-ready resource tied to your best product lines, presented on a clean landing page with a single clear action. Then we craft a three-email welcome sequence that delivers the freebie, builds trust with quick implementation tips, and gently introduces related resources without feeling pushy. We also share the ten-cents-per-subscriber-per-month benchmark so you can evaluate ROI and stop second-guessing your tool costs as your list scales.

Traffic doesn’t have to be chaotic. We lay out steady sources that compound: product insert opt-in pages inside your resources, notes to TPT followers, a supporting blog post with Pinterest pins, and social posts that demonstrate the freebie’s value in seconds. When you’re ready, add strategic collaborations and freebie swaps to accelerate growth with aligned audiences. The result is a repeatable engine that moves people from discovery to trust to action—and puts you in control of your audience, not the algorithm. If this playbook helps, follow the show, share it with a TPT friend, and leave a quick review telling us your current list size and next milestone.

What if you could turn one solid template into two profitable products—again and again—without burning out or blowing your budget? That’s the engine behind our 30-resources-in-under-10-hours sprint, and we’re pulling back the curtain on the exact system: build evergreen first, then smartly clone into seasonal versions with minimal, thoughtful changes.

We start with the economics that drive better decisions for TPT sellers: seasonal items often sell in a short window and take longer to break even if you outsource. By owning a simple, repeatable format—board games, coloring sheets, pixel art, task cards—you cut production time and risk while keeping standards alignment tight. We show how a zombie-themed board game becomes a Halloween hit, how an operations set morphs into a fall variant, and why a strong evergreen core keeps your catalog useful year-round.

Process is where the real gains live. We walk through a one-file workflow that speeds duplication, keeps quality checks easy, and makes delegation to a VA painless. You’ll hear how we use checklists to track drafts, exports, covers, and previews so nothing stalls in publishing. We also talk asset strategy: artwork licensing for emojis, choosing flexible graphics and fonts, and building a reusable library so themes can swap fast without redesigning from scratch.

AI makes a cameo as a practical springboard. We use ChatGPT to generate extra word problems, sentence prompts, and seasonal contexts, then curate and compute our own answers for accuracy. The result is less ideation fatigue and more momentum. To wrap, we share quick-win product ideas perfect for batching—coloring activities, pixel art grids, short story analysis, escape-style worksheets—and guardrails to avoid the “more is better” trap so quality stays high.

If you’re ready to scale your TPT shop with less stress and more intention, this system gives you the steps, the safeguards, and the shortcuts. Subscribe for weekly strategies, share this with a fellow teacherpreneur, and leave a review to tell us which template you’re cloning next.

Stepping away from your TPT business—whether for maternity leave or any planned absence—requires thoughtful preparation and realistic expectations. Drawing from my experience across three pregnancies while running a teacher-entrepreneur business, this episode walks you through the practical steps to ensure your store continues thriving while you focus on what matters most.

First, establish your timeline and identify your non-negotiable tasks. For me, six weeks is my sweet spot—that period where I want absolute minimum responsibilities beyond occasionally answering a team question. From there, create a realistic plan for batching essential content and delegating responsibilities. My first maternity leave taught me a painful lesson about insufficient planning when I found myself updating resources at 3am while watching my newborn sleep in her rocker during back-to-school season. The hustle mentality during what should be a precious bonding time took a significant toll on my wellbeing that I've been determined not to repeat.

Your preparation strategy should distinguish between what truly needs continuation (email marketing, customer support) and what can comfortably pause (blog posts, new resources, social media). For team members, create clear guidance and have them practice critical tasks before your departure to minimize questions during your absence. Consider seasonal opportunities that might arise while you're away—optimizing Halloween or Valentine's Day resources beforehand can prevent mid-leave panic about underperforming listings. Most importantly, give yourself grace. Don't feel pressured to batch three months of content or return at full capacity immediately. Your business should adapt to your life circumstances, not the other way around.

Finding yourself wasting precious hours scrolling through Facebook groups, comparing your TPT store to others, or stressing about platform changes that are completely outside your control? You're not alone. The TPT seller community is filled with noise that can easily derail your focus and drain your limited energy reserves.

In this no-nonsense episode, I tackle the five most common distractions that prevent teacher-entrepreneurs from making meaningful progress in their businesses. From the dangerous trap of fixating on other sellers' earnings to the false promise of "quick hacks" that claim to transform your business overnight, I break down why these distractions are so harmful and how to put your blinders on to stay focused on what truly matters.

We dive deep into why copying someone else's successful strategy rarely works (hint: it's like being that awkward kid repeating jokes at the lunch table hoping for the same laughs), how comparing business expenses with other sellers can lead to poor financial decisions, and why engaging in negative conversations about TPT platform issues only wastes your valuable time and mental energy.

As teachers juggling classrooms, families, and side businesses, our energy is our most precious resource. This episode provides practical guidance for protecting that energy and channeling it into activities that will actually move your business forward in meaningful ways. Whether you're just starting out or looking to scale your existing TPT business, these insights will help you build a more purposeful and sustainable teacher business without the distractions.

Remember when TPT felt like the promised land of passive income? When a feature in their newsletter could skyrocket your downloads overnight? Those days are behind us, but that doesn't mean you can't thrive as a teacher-seller in today's marketplace.

The teaching resources landscape has fundamentally transformed. What worked brilliantly in 2018 might be holding you back in 2023. As someone who's navigated these changes while maintaining a successful business, I'm pulling back the curtain on four pieces of outdated TPT advice you can confidently leave behind.

First, let's address the passive income myth. While you can build systems that reduce your workload, true "set it and forget it" success simply doesn't exist anymore. Even established stores require maintenance as search trends evolve and algorithms update. The Pinterest strategies that once drove direct sales have similarly become ineffective in isolation – today, Pinterest serves as one component in a broader marketing funnel rather than a standalone solution. TPT's newsletter features and the famous "50 product rule" have also transformed in significance, requiring us to adapt our approaches accordingly.

But don't worry – this isn't all doom and gloom! Some principles remain timeless: creating high-quality, comprehensive resources that solve real teacher problems will always outperform quick-made materials. The "slow cooker" approach to business building still yields the most sustainable results. I'll show you how to focus your energy on what actually moves the needle in today's marketplace.

The educational technology landscape is shifting dramatically, and two alarming trends are reshaping how teachers can use TPT resources in their classrooms. If you've invested time creating digital materials or incorporating QR codes into your teaching resources, these changes could significantly impact your product's usability and your TPT sales.

The first major shift involves statewide cell phone bans, with Texas leading this movement and other states following suit. While many teachers welcome this change for classroom management, it creates a challenge for resource creators who've built convenience features requiring personal devices. When teachers see QR codes in product previews, they might immediately dismiss resources as unusable in their technology-restricted environments, even when these features are merely optional enhancements. As a seller, it's crucial to clearly label these elements as supplementary and provide alternative access methods to maintain your market reach.

Perhaps more concerning is the growing divide between "Google schools" and "Microsoft schools." This isn't simply about platform preference – it's increasingly a compliance requirement tied to student data protection and district insurance policies. Teachers at Microsoft schools may be explicitly prohibited from allowing students to access Google-based resources, regardless of educational value. Similarly, Google Chromebook users often encounter compatibility issues with Microsoft files. This technological segregation means that creating resources exclusively for one ecosystem could inadvertently alienate half your potential market.

The TPT marketplace has never truly offered "set it and forget it" passive income, but these technological shifts make regular updates more essential than ever. By creating dual versions of digital resources and clearly labeling technological components as optional, you can protect your market position and demonstrate your commitment to serving all teachers. While adapting requires additional effort, it also creates opportunities as older, inflexible resources become obsolete. How are you experiencing these changes in your classroom or TPT business? I'd love to hear your thoughts and strategies for navigating this evolving landscape.

If you've been pouring endless hours into your Teachers Pay Teachers business without seeing meaningful growth, you might be falling victim to one of the three biggest time-wasters plaguing TPT sellers. As someone who's navigated the TPT marketplace for nine years (five of them full-time), I've witnessed countless talented educators spinning their wheels on activities that simply don't drive results.

The first culprit? Obsessive product revision. While quality matters, constantly updating your first dozen products means you'll never reach that critical 50-100 product threshold where momentum builds. Instead of revising every time you learn something new, apply that knowledge to your upcoming products. Consider implementing a revision ratio—perhaps updating one older product for every five new ones you create. This keeps your catalog growing while gradually improving older listings without getting stuck in revision limbo.

Over-researching is another silent killer of TPT success. The research phase feels deceptively productive while protecting you from the vulnerability of action. But you don't need perfect knowledge to begin—you just need to know the first step. Complete that step, then research the next one. This step-by-step approach prevents the analysis paralysis that keeps so many promising sellers permanently stuck in preparation mode rather than production.

Perhaps most heartbreaking are the passion projects that don't sell. We all have resources we'd love to create, but without market demand, they become expensive hobbies rather than business assets. Before investing significant time in any resource, ask yourself: Is there an existing audience actively searching for this solution? If not, are you willing to build awareness through marketing? Your time is valuable, and ultimately, you deserve financial compensation for your expertise and effort.

Ready to transform your seasonal TPT resources from potential time-wasters into profitable assets? This episode reveals the strategic difference between seasonal products that generate substantial income and those that simply drain your valuable time.

I'm sharing three data-driven strategies that eliminate guesswork and maximize your earnings during these critical selling periods.

Ready to revolutionize your approach to TPT success? This eye-opening episode challenges the common misconception that creating more products is the only path to growth. Instead, Lauren Fulton reveals the powerful strategy of "creating for views" – an algorithmic approach that helps your resources work smarter, not harder.

Discover three game-changing tactics that can transform your product creation process. First, learn how combining two resource types into one product (like task cards activities instead of just task cards) targets multiple keyword sets simultaneously, doubling your visibility with minimal extra effort. Next, explore how creating complementary products that teachers naturally search for together builds valuable keyword traction and opens the door to higher-ticket sales. Finally, master the art of creating leveled versions of your resources to appeal to multiple grade levels while gathering crucial market data.

What makes these strategies particularly powerful is their efficiency – you're essentially casting a wide net instead of a single line, creating multiple opportunities for buyers to discover your work without significantly increasing your workload. For new sellers, this approach provides invaluable insights into which niches and grade levels respond best to your content, allowing you to make data-driven decisions about where to focus your efforts.

Whether you're just starting your TPT journey or looking to scale an established store, these practical, actionable strategies will help you build a purposeful and sustainable business. Tune in next week as Lauren shares three seasonal product strategies to help maximize your earnings during key buying periods throughout the school year.

Is your TPT product description turning potential buyers away? As teachers scroll through countless resources, your description is often the final deciding factor before they hit "add to cart." In this episode, I reveal the secrets to crafting product descriptions that actually convert browsers into buyers.

Drawing from my nine years of TPT selling experience (including outearning my teaching salary), I take you behind the scenes to show exactly how I transform lackluster product descriptions into powerful sales tools. You'll watch as I audit two real product descriptions from the Rebranded Teacher community, applying my plug-and-play templates and strategic ChatGPT prompts to dramatically improve their effectiveness.

The transformation process reveals common mistakes sellers make: creating non-skimmable walls of text, including distracting elements that pull focus from purchasing, and failing to highlight their resource's unique selling points. I demonstrate how proper formatting with strategic bolding, bullet points, and concise paragraphs makes your description instantly more appealing to busy teachers who rarely read every word.

You'll learn my exact framework for effective descriptions: starting with an attention-grabbing snippet containing key search terms, followed by a brief product overview highlighting benefits (not just features), a clearly formatted "what's included" section, highlighted selling points, usage suggestions, and a compelling call to action. I also share when and how to include relevant upsells without distracting from the primary purchase.

Whether you're a new seller struggling with your first descriptions or an established creator looking to optimize your listings, this episode provides actionable strategies to immediately implement in your TPT store. Tired of feeling like you need a marketing budget to grow your TPT business? This episode flips that notion on its head with five genius strategies for trading value instead of spending money.

Lauren challenges the limiting belief that many teacher-entrepreneurs hold: "I can't collaborate until I have something to bring to the table." As she points out, you already have valuable assets other sellers want—even if it's not a large audience. Through the inspiring story of a woman who bartered coupon-bought products for everything from fresh produce to home renovations, we see how creative trading can transform limited resources into remarkable results.

The strategies range from creating classroom implementation content for full-time TPT sellers (who desperately need authentic in-classroom footage) to collaborating on content series that benefit both parties. Lauren details exactly how to approach potential trading partners, what to request in exchange for your contributions, and how to ensure the arrangements are clear and mutually beneficial. The episode covers content creation trades, social media collaborations, email list swaps, blog hops for SEO benefits, and skillset exchanges that leverage each person's strengths.

What makes these strategies particularly valuable is their accessibility to sellers at any stage. Whether you have 300 followers or 30,000, these approaches can help you grow without spending a dime on advertising. Lauren's practical suggestions include how to measure results, create clear agreements, and develop professional trading relationships that benefit everyone involved. Ready to think like a savvy business owner and trade your way to greater visibility? This episode gives you the exact blueprint to make it happen.

Ready to supercharge your TPT sales? Whether you're trying to hit a specific income goal or looking for sustainable ways to boost your store's performance, these five actionable strategies can help you drive meaningful results without burning out.

Flash sales remain the gold standard for quick revenue boosts, but there's a science to doing them right. The sweet spot isn't necessarily the deepest discount—Lauren explains why a strategic 24-48 hour sale on product lines or bundles often outperforms dramatic price slashing. The common assumption that halving your prices will double your sales rarely holds true, making smart pricing crucial to your success.

For sellers looking to move wishlisted items or encourage larger purchases, the free gift strategy creates irresistible incentives. This approach works especially well during seasonal periods, offering immediate value that teachers can implement in their classrooms right away. Lauren breaks down exactly how to implement this on TPT despite platform limitations, including tiered rewards that encourage bigger spends.

What about sellers without established audiences? The collaborative hashtag sale strategy opens doors even for newcomers. By partnering with 8-10 sellers in your specific niche and coordinating discounts under a searchable term, you can leverage others' audiences while contributing organizational value. The key insight: keeping participant groups relatively small ensures your resources appear on that crucial first page of search results.

Perhaps most valuable is Lauren's approach to seasonal resource optimization—a strategy that delivers immediate sales while building assets that generate revenue year after year. Creating multiple themed resources with varied SEO approaches provides market insights while increasing your chances of ranking well during peak seasonal searches.

Subscribe now for next week's episode on "Smart TPT Trades" where Lauren will reveal strategies for trading with other sellers to save money and increase visibility for your resources—perfect for both new and established TPT entrepreneurs!

Ready for your most strategic summer yet? As teacher-sellers, our summer break offers the perfect opportunity to grow our TPT businesses—not necessarily because we have more time, but because we have more flexibility to focus on impactful strategies that set us up for success when the classroom chaos returns.

This episode breaks down a four-pillar approach to summer TPT growth that won't leave you overwhelmed or burnt out. Rather than attempting to implement every possible strategy, I guide you through selecting just one focus from each essential category: product creation, marketing, back-to-school preparation, and business expansion.

For product creation, discover how batching seasonal resources, updating best-sellers, or creating mini-product lines can maximize your efforts. Learn why summer is the perfect moment to capture authentic marketing content while you're deep in creation mode, and how to leverage low-effort engagement strategies that build relationships when both you and teachers have more bandwidth to connect.

The most successful teacher-sellers prepare strategically for back-to-school season, creating freebie funnels that lead to their best products and preparing all sale assets before the rush begins. Summer also provides the rare opportunity to tackle those significant business projects you've postponed—whether implementing email marketing, mastering SEO, or building systems that will save you countless hours throughout the school year.

Set yourself up for sustainable success by creating reasonable time budgets for both summer and the upcoming school year. The goal isn't productivity at all costs—it's purposeful growth that allows you to return to your classroom feeling accomplished and prepared, knowing your business is positioned to thrive even during your busiest teaching periods.

What summer strategy will make the biggest difference in your TPT business this year? Share in the comments which approach you're implementing first!

The digital marketing landscape for teacher-sellers has undergone a dramatic transformation since 2020, and those clinging to outdated strategies are watching their businesses slowly fade. This eye-opening episode pulls back the curtain on what's actually working in TPT marketing today versus what's simply wasting your precious time.

Ready for some tough love? Those static Instagram posts, random Pinterest pins linking directly to TPT, and scattered marketing efforts across multiple platforms aren't serving your business. Lauren breaks down why even established sellers are struggling when they refuse to adapt to the current competitive marketplace. The hard truth: if your marketing approach hasn't evolved since 2021, you're likely working harder while seeing diminishing returns.

But this isn't just about what to stop doing. Lauren delivers a clear, actionable framework for modern TPT marketing success: the "one platform, one funnel" approach. Discover why email marketing still delivers the highest ROI, how to strategically deploy short-form video content, when to invest in paid advertising, and why capturing customer information before sending traffic to TPT transforms your long-term profitability. She explains why a customer needs to encounter your product approximately seven times before purchasing—and how a properly structured marketing funnel makes this process both automated and efficient. Learn how to batch and repurpose content across platforms to create a harmonious marketing ecosystem where everything works together strategically rather than randomly.

Ready to transform your TPT marketing approach? Grab your ticket to the upcoming Teacher Seller Summit where Lauren will share even more game-changing strategies to help you stand out in today's competitive marketplace.

Have you ever skipped a conference or summit because it felt draining, expensive, or simply not worth your time? I get it. As someone who identifies as introverted and antisocial, I've wrestled with the same hesitations about professional gatherings.

But here's my confession: the moments that transformed my TPT business came from reluctantly attending events I nearly skipped. Six years ago, a casual brunch conversation during my first TPT conference introduced me to email marketing—a strategy that now generates six figures annually. More recently, implementing just one tactic from an expensive mastermind meeting tripled the revenue of a membership I co-own.

These experiences taught me something profound: success doesn't require consuming every piece of content or implementing dozens of strategies. Sometimes, all it takes is one powerful idea implemented with consistency. This realization is precisely why I created Teacher Seller Summit—a virtual conference designed for teacher-entrepreneurs who want high-impact business strategies without the travel expenses, childcare complications, or overwhelm of traditional conferences.

Whether you're making $100 or $10,000 monthly on TPT, the summit offers tailored learning opportunities through free mini-masterclasses, expert Q&A panels, roundtable discussions, and over 40 professional-level sessions. With both free preview passes and affordable Pro tickets (which include six months of extended access), TSS eliminates the common barriers that keep teacher-sellers from investing in their business growth.

The top sellers in our industry didn't reach their status by continuing what they've always done. They constantly learned, adapted, and implemented new approaches—even when it felt uncomfortable. If you're not where you want to be with your TPT business, showing up for yourself by attending events like Teacher Seller Summit might be the catalyst you need. The summit begins in just 24 days, and registration closes when the event starts.

Ever wondered why your meticulously crafted TPT resources aren't getting found, despite your best SEO efforts? After nine years as a TPT seller and five years coaching other teacher entrepreneurs, I've discovered a hard truth: most sellers are solving the wrong problem.

The issue isn't that your resources lack proper search optimization. It's that you're creating products that can't be effectively optimized in the first place. Many of us start by creating resources we're personally excited about or that our own classrooms need, then try to retrofit SEO strategies afterward. This backwards approach typically leads nowhere because either nobody is searching for the keywords that describe your product, or the competition for those keywords is so fierce that newer sellers have virtually no chance of ranking.

This frustrating cycle is what I call the "silent killer" of TPT businesses. You follow all the conventional advice – create more products, optimize your listings, design beautiful covers – yet sales remain stagnant. The burnout that follows drains your momentum and enthusiasm. Meanwhile, successful sellers who transition from side-hustle to full-time income share one critical habit: they validate market demand before investing time in product creation. They check search volume, assess competition, and identify keyword targets before designing a single page.

Ready to break free from creating "hope and pray" products? Join my free Five Days to 5K Product Challenge starting May 24th! Through bite-sized, actionable daily tasks, you'll learn how to identify products with built-in demand, align your resources with what buyers actively search for, and stop guessing whether your next creation will sell. By the end of our five days together, you'll approach product creation with data-driven confidence rather than wishful thinking. Sign up through the link below – this is likely my only free workshop of 2025, and you don't want to miss it!

Are you struggling to decide whether to create evergreen resources that sell year-round or seasonal resources that capitalize on specific times of the year? This strategic decision can make or break your Teachers Pay Teachers business, especially in the early stages.

Evergreen resources—those without holiday-specific elements that teachers can use throughout the school year—build stability and consistent income. They allow you to put your energy into creating one high-quality product that can potentially sell for 10-12 months each year. This approach streamlines your marketing efforts and builds a reliable foundation for your business. But is it always the best strategy?

Seasonal resources offer distinct advantages that many new sellers overlook. With lower competition and more specific keywords, seasonal products often rank more easily in search results. For example, while ranking for "multiplying three-digit numbers task cards" might be challenging, ranking for "multiplying three-digit numbers Christmas activity" could be much more achievable. What's more, seasonal resources provide rapid feedback on your product creation skills—if your Christmas resource doesn't sell during December, you know immediately that adjustments are needed rather than wondering if you just need to wait longer.

The data shows an interesting pattern: new sellers typically find faster success with seasonal resources, while established sellers build more long-term profitability with evergreen products. The ideal approach depends on your specific situation. If you're just starting and need to see sales quickly while developing your skills, begin with seasonal resources for each major holiday or season. If you create resources slowly and are playing the long game, focus on building a strong lineup of evergreen products. Many successful sellers eventually maintain a strategic balance of both. What's your experience been with seasonal versus evergreen resources? Share your insights and join us at the upcoming Teacher Seller Summit to learn even more strategies for growing your TPT business!

• Long-term marketing strategies that build organic traffic are essential for sustainable growth without constant content creation

Ready to grow your TPT business but unsure if you should hire help or improve your systems first? Janice Cook, owner of Cook Family Resources, brings her unique perspective as a project manager who works with both teacher entrepreneurs and virtual assistants to share what really works—and what doesn't—when building your team.

After 12 years as a music teacher, Janice found herself in the online business world and quickly became the go-to person for managing projects when other TPT sellers needed support. Her position gives her remarkable insight into both sides of the hiring equation, seeing firsthand why some working relationships thrive while others fail miserably.

We dive deep into the four essential elements you must have in place before bringing on help: clear communication channels, documented standard operating procedures, time allocated for feedback, and clarity about who's bringing the expertise to the table. Janice explains why jumping into hiring without these foundations often leads to frustration on both sides, wasted money, and the dreaded "hiring horror stories" that make entrepreneurs hesitant to delegate again.

You'll discover practical advice for determining when you're truly ready to hire, how to choose the right communication systems for your team, and what questions to ask yourself before writing that job description. Janice also shares her insider perspective on finding the right match for your specific needs, whether that's through referrals, specialized freelancers, or more cost-effective solutions.

Whether you're considering your first hire or looking to improve your existing team dynamics, this conversation will help you create the systems that make delegation successful, allowing your TPT business to grow in a way that's both purposeful and sustainable.

What if your teaching blog could be more than just a traffic funnel for your TPT store? Blogging experts Jennifer and Amy reveal how teacher entrepreneurs can transform their online presence into a sustainable business with multiple revenue streams.

Having coached countless content creators to success, these former neighbors turned business partners share their journey from humble beginnings to creating a thriving blog coaching business. They explain why viewing your blog as your "home base" opens doors to diverse income opportunities that many teacherpreneurs never consider, including ad revenue, affiliate marketing, digital products, courses, and even brand partnerships.

The revenue potential extends far beyond what most Teachers Pay Teachers sellers realize. With only the top 800-1000 TPT sellers earning full-time income, Jennifer and Amy make a compelling case for diversification through blogging. The beauty? Your blog continues generating traffic, leads, and income even during your busiest teaching periods when you can't actively create content.

For those concerned about time management, the podcast offers practical systems and workflows to prevent overwhelm. Their approach centers on focusing where you can make the most impact rather than trying to do everything, implementing content management systems, and strategically repurposing content across platforms. This work-smarter-not-harder philosophy resonates perfectly with busy teachers juggling classroom responsibilities and entrepreneurial aspirations.

Money makes the TPT world go round, but how much should you actually be spending on your teacher business? Whether you're just starting your TPT journey or scaling to five figures monthly, smart budgeting decisions can make or break your long-term success.

Let's start with the non-negotiables every TPT seller needs: premium seller fees ($59.95 annually), branded fonts (choose 3-5 that become your signature style), strategic clip art investments, and essential software subscriptions. These foundational elements ensure your resources stand out in the marketplace and earn the highest possible commission rates.

But beyond these basics lies the question that plagues most teacher entrepreneurs: when and how much should I reinvest in my business? The answer changes depending on your revenue level, but one principle remains constant—pay yourself first. For sellers earning $500-1000 monthly, setting aside 10-20% of revenue (after taxes and essential expenses) creates a meaningful reinvestment fund without depleting your personal income. This approach allows you to accumulate a strategic sum every six months that you can use to level up your business through batch-creating resources, running targeted ads, or purchasing time-saving tools.

As your revenue climbs to $5000+ monthly, that same percentage creates substantial reinvestment power. At this stage, tracking return on investment becomes crucial. Whether you're spending on Facebook ads or hiring virtual assistants, you need clear metrics showing exactly what you're getting back. The goal isn't just creating more products—it's ensuring those investments generate profitable returns.

Remember, growing a sustainable TPT business isn't about reinvesting everything at the expense of paying yourself. By taking a methodical, percentage-based approach to budgeting, you'll build a business that supports your financial goals while continuing to expand strategically year after year.

Ever felt stuck between creating truly unique TPT resources and making products that actually get found in searches? You're not alone. This episode tackles exactly that tension with seven genius product ideas you've probably never considered—but will immediately want to create.

From weekly warm-ups where students gradually reveal mystery pictures as they solve problems, to self-differentiating maze activities that allow students to choose their own difficulty path, these ideas strike that perfect balance. They target high-traffic keywords like "worksheets," "exit tickets," and "centers" while offering something buyers can only get from your store.

What makes these resources special is their ability to engage students in unexpected ways. Imagine mini escape room exit tickets that provide daily puzzle challenges, collaborative story chains where students build narratives together throughout the week, or mystery picture activities where solving problems reveals hidden images. Each concept maintains educational rigor while adding elements of surprise, creativity, and student choice.

The most powerful insight? Creating products that balance uniqueness with searchability isn't just about standing out—it's about building a sustainable TPT business where customers return specifically to your store. Because as Lauren puts it, "If they can only get it from you, where else are they going to go?" Ready to implement these ideas in your own TPT store? Want to grow your TPT store faster without doubling your workload? After nearly a decade as a top 1% seller and years coaching other teacher-entrepreneurs, I've identified three game-changing hacks that most sellers overlook.

The first hack transforms how you approach multi-grade resources. Rather than creating one product for grades 3-6 (which limits your keywords and makes teachers question its suitability), create slightly differentiated versions for each grade level. This simple shift multiplies your store's visibility while making teachers feel you've created something specifically for their students. With minimal additional effort, you'll have four products appearing in search results instead of one, dramatically increasing your chances of being discovered.

The second strategy involves unbundling larger resources. That comprehensive unit or activity pack? Consider listing each component separately at a lower price point while maintaining the complete bundle. This approach creates multiple entry points for buyers, makes your bundle's value proposition crystal clear ("$10 worth of resources for just $5!"), and significantly increases your product count without requiring entirely new creations.

The final hack leverages strategic collaborations with other sellers. Even without a strong social media presence, you can drive traffic to your store by trading visibility with others. Whether it's promoting someone's product to your email list in exchange for Instagram exposure, participating in blog hops, or bartering with teacher influencers, these partnerships cost nothing while expanding your reach exponentially.

Ready to implement these strategies and see your TPT store flourish? Whether you're just starting out or working to reach that next income milestone, these proven approaches will help you work smarter, not harder, on your path to TPT success. If you've been around here for a while, then you know that I have been talking about building and creating my own website to sell my resources (for quite some time). Well, I finally launched www.laurenfultonmath. com.

Everything is on Shopify because I really needed something that was simple and all in one place, kind of packaged together really nice and neatly for me. And I had a lot of help from a friend of mine, Tyra Frederick from Algebra and Beyond, because she created the only course that I know of for teacher sellers called Getting Started on Shopify to help other teacher entrepreneurs get their resources listed on e-commerce platforms.

And in this episode, we're talking about the benefits of having your resources on an e-commerce platform where you have a little bit more control. We also discuss when this might be a really good step for you and some of the other things that we've seen inside of our business after launching a Shopify store.

If you've ever thought about selling resources on your own website, this is absolutely an episode that you don't want to miss. Let's go ahead and let's dive in. Meet Tyra.

This week on the podcast, we have Annette from Miss T's Social Studies.

Her story is so fun and inspirational because she actually started on TPT over four years ago, created a couple of products that she had created for her classroom, uploaded them to TPT, then forgot about it.

She didn't do anything with her store for four years, until one day she realized she had $150 sitting in her account, and from there she decided to start taking her business seriously.

Within three and a half months of re-launching her store, she started earning four figures a month, and she's sharing her journey with us today!

This week on the podcast, we're throwing it way back to 2021 Back to School season and we are revisiting an old episode, episode 14.

This episode is about three ways to have a successful back to school season in your TPT business. When this was first recorded in 2021, there was still some uncertainty about COVID.

Now,  TPT sellers  have been experiencing that things are still a little uncertain, but not because of COVID. The uncertainty is because of the current state of our economy. Teachers are in a different headspace than they were prior to 2020.

All of this adds up to a degree of uncertainty when it comes to back to school - how are my tried and true resources going to perform?

So, in this week's episode, we're going to go back to those three fundamental ways to have a successful back to school season.

Let's go ahead and dive in.
