The WNBA Playoffs are here!
Sky vs Libs, Aces vs Merc are up first then Sun vs Wings and Storm vs 'Stics are next. Steph gives her analysis and picks for the first round winners. Some sleepers and some sure-fire wins, but all around a good time because it's the postseason babyyy.

If anyone knows how to play without a team leader it's the Connecticut Sun. It's almost like all of their starters are also team leaders. If one goes down, you've still got a few to spare. Wishing Jasmine Thomas a speedy recovery but we're not anticipating much of a drop in performance from this group. They've got the talent, they've got the chemistry, and they've got the coach. Expect the Sun to continue steamrolling ahead as this season chugs along.

If I'm an Atlanta fan I wouldn't want to wake up from this Dream. Rhyne Howard is doing Rhyne Howard things. Coach T is letting the league know that you need to take her and this group seriously. They're playing short-handed without Tiffany Hayes but when she's back in the lineup we can imagine this team might be a real threat to clinch a playoff spot.

Candace is still Candace. Azura is playing like an MIP candidate. Yes they've lost some games they shouldn't have but your reigning champs are a-ok.

We might not know who's suiting up to play for the Washington Mystics each game but we do know they're coming to win - no matter who's out there. There's been lots of roster inconsistency with EDD's load management, H&S protocols and overall just being banged up. You would think that would cause this crew to be out of sync and racking up losses but that hasn't been the case. They are finding a way to win nightly and are primed for a run at a chip.

Maybe it's the proven success from season's past or the presence of Breanna Stewart but we're still believing in the Storm. Despite taking some (L)umps early and squeaking out not-so-pretty wins, the optimism remains. It'll be more of a shock if the shots keep not falling and they don't turn it around. It's championship or bust over there till it's not.

Expectations for the Phoenix Mercury are high and so far into this WNBA season they haven't lived up to the hype. We discuss the Battle on the Bench between Diana Taurasi and Skylar Diggins-Smith in their loss against the Aces, their conflict-avoidance skills and projected trajectory if things don't changed with this loaded squad.

The on-court play of the Los Angeles Sparks has been the last thing people want to talk about when it comes to discussing this team and maybe that's for the best. Lexi Brown has had a hot start along with Nneka Oguwmike. Chennedy got her first start and dropped 20 points. But, we don't really know what to make of this squad and Liz Cambage isn't making it any easier for us to find out.

Maybe it's just us but we're still not sure what to make of this Dallas Wings team yet. They've had some success this season, which is at times more surprising than the losses. Marina has been balling and Allisha Gray is chasing down everyone for a block in transition. Are they a real contender this year or will the revert back to their old ways?
